Transcript
00:00 The former Health Secretary and now House Deputy Majority Leader Janet Garina gave a statement on the importance of vaccination amid the Pertosis outbreak in several parts of the country.
00:11 According to Garina, if the previous administrations of the Department of Health could have stopped the spread of misinformation against vaccination, the spread of Pertosis would have been stopped.
00:23 The effect of vaccine hesitancy is huge in the spread of various diseases nowadays. Garin reminded the public that it is different to be careful against the virus and as much as possible, to avoid free vaccines that are distributed by the government.
00:38 If you immunize a vaccine and the experts are excited, people will be confused. From a 98% vaccine coverage, it dropped to around 30 or 32%.
00:53 In addition, the coverage of polio, measles, mumps, and rubella dropped. This is why Pertosis is related to it. There should be a catch-up vaccination.
01:06 You should catch up with those who were not vaccinated so that they can be vaccinated. Even if Pertosis is there, it is contagious. It will not be deadly.
