00:00 Hello there, welcome to your latest week ahead forecast. The video behind me may sum up the
00:06 week ahead but there will be some sunshine and temperatures on the rise as well. So if
00:10 we take a look at the jet stream, it is just to the south of the UK at the moment but as
00:15 we head through the week it starts to increase in strength and drive weather systems towards
00:19 us as well. Just notice this dip in the jet stream by Friday, it does mean low pressure
00:25 systems will be anchored to the west and south west of the UK bringing wet and windy weather.
00:30 If we run the pressure sequence through for the week ahead we can see that too. So looking
00:35 at the details, Monday into Tuesday after a showery day, low pressure systems generally
00:39 still in charge but just notice how widely spaced the isobars are. So it does mean through
00:46 into Tuesday morning we do have some mist and fog patches through the central zone first
00:50 thing, some dry weather too. But as we go through the day we can see a scattering of
00:54 showers developing, there will be some sunny spells too. The showers not quite as heavy
00:59 as Monday. Cloud and rain still affecting parts of Scotland though lighter compared
01:04 to Monday as well. And then later on in the day weather system bringing some stronger
01:08 winds and patchy rain towards the south west. In terms of temperatures on Tuesday, quite
01:14 widely getting towards the mid teens, 16, 17 Celsius possible where we do see any prolonged
01:20 spells of sunshine. Cooler still though across northern parts of the UK, Northern Ireland,
01:24 Scotland here 9 to 11 Celsius, Northern Scotland colder than this with a north easterly breeze.
01:31 Then into Tuesday night and into Wednesday this low pressure system continues to push
01:37 its way north eastwards. So the winds just starting to increase a bit, more cloud and
01:42 rain pushing its way northwards too. So if we take a look at the details we can see Wednesday
01:48 morning plenty of cloud, outbreaks of rain across the country pushing northwards. Some
01:53 of this will be heavy at times, the risk of some of it turning thundery into the afternoon.
01:58 Behind it some drier weather pushing into the south, a scattering of showers here. Again
02:03 Northern Scotland probably seeing some brighter skies ahead of this rain. And temperatures
02:08 under the clouds 9 to 12 Celsius across the north of the UK, again the mid teens towards
02:13 the south. As we head into Thursday, well all eyes to the south west again. The next
02:19 area of low pressure moving in from the Atlantic. Perhaps a little more showery in nature but
02:25 still quite breezy particularly across the south and west of the UK. Looking at the details,
02:30 Wednesday's rain continues to affect first thing across parts of Scotland, some hill
02:35 snow for a time too but that starts to clear out the way. And then the next weather system
02:39 pushes showery rain north eastward, some rumbles of thunder in there too. Brighter skies also
02:45 following on behind but plenty of sunny spells following with some showers. Temperatures
02:50 just a little higher, 16 possibly 17 Celsius on Thursday and again the signs of the next
02:56 weather system moving in to the south west. So it is very unsettled and changeable. Looking
03:02 at the end of the week, some uncertainties with how low pressure systems set up but it
03:06 does look like as we move into Friday the next system pushes in some wet and windy weather
03:12 spreading its way north eastwards across many parts but also dragging in some warmer air
03:18 too. So quite a disruptive possible start to a Friday morning, some showery outbreaks
03:23 of rain which will be heavy at times. This brightening up from the south west moving
03:27 into the afternoon. Sunny spells, scattered showers and quite windy too but the winds
03:32 coming in from the south drawing in some warm air. So England and Wales, temperatures 16,
03:37 17, possibly 18 degrees. Still some chilly air holding on across northern parts of Scotland,
03:43 9 to 12 Celsius here. And then looking at the picture as we move towards the weekend,
03:51 well remains unsettled. Further areas of low pressure moving in. Some uncertainty with
03:55 the exact details but some wet and windy weather is likely in places particularly across the
04:00 west. So it is worth staying up to date with the forecast as the week progresses. But as
04:06 I mentioned, overall further unsettled weather is expected. There will be some outbreaks
04:11 of rain at times but away from the rain we will have some sunshine and as the April sunshine
04:17 gets to work some heavy showers too. But it will feel fairly pleasant where it does remain
04:22 dry. See you again soon.
