Transcript
00:00 Hi, I'm Mark Dunford and I'm here with today's Sussex World Daily Bulletin on Tuesday March 26th.
00:08 Hastings Borough Council has announced their geotechnical survey will take place into the cause of the catastrophic landslip,
00:14 which left two families having to leave their homes.
00:17 The landslip in February saw gardens disappearing under tons of earth and footpaths,
00:21 and trees being lost after the steep sides of Old Roar Gill collapsed.
00:26 Since then, residents have been in dispute with the council over where the landslip actually started,
00:30 with residents saying it happened in the Gill itself, which is owned by the council,
00:35 making it their responsibility, and the council saying it believed it had started on private land above the Gill.
00:41 A new cafe is set to open its doors in Eastbourne.
00:44 Run by Mrs Laura Bruno, the company will offer a variety of hot drinks for residents to enjoy.
00:49 A spokesperson for the shop said,
00:51 "Our aim is to be able to provide a quick coffee service to the community who relies on bus services,
00:56 especially because we are planning to open very early in the morning.
01:00 These are difficult times for everyone and it's not easy at all to set up a business,
01:04 but the worst thing we could ever do is to lose hope and just accept that we cannot grow
01:08 because of the huge economic challenges that we have to survive."
01:13 A shop which has been in Horsham Town Centre for decades has announced it is to move to new premises.
01:19 Apache Menswear has traded from its base in the Bishoprick for the past 30 years and is now moving to Partridge Green.
01:26 The store says it plans to relocate to the Hoffwood Trading Estate at around the end of June.
01:33 Plans for the public roundworks along the Bognor Regis Esplanade have been revealed by Arran District Council.
01:41 The planned works will extend from Lennox Street to Clarence Road
01:44 and involve improved pedestrian and disabled access between the esplanade itself and the seafront,
01:49 including an additional crossing facility on the west side of the project,
01:54 a walkway between parked cars and the seawall,
01:57 a new lower 20mph speed limit and traffic calming measures to help keep pedestrians and visitors safe,
02:04 more plant life, increased seating and a litter bin.
