00:08A 17-year-old boy has been confirmed dead after being airlifted to hospital from West Wittering Beach yesterday.
00:15A spokesperson for Sussex Police said emergency services alongside HM Coast Guard were called to the beach due to concerns for the boy's welfare in the sea.
00:23Retrieved from the sea, he was airlifted to hospital and sadly confirmed dead.

00:33Residents have been given an explanation as to why new masks are appearing across Worthing Town Centre.
00:3928 masks have been installed in the West Sussex seaside town with local people raising concerns that they were using facial recognition software, but this theory has been debunked.

01:18On Monday, the regeneration company SeaChange Sussex announced it would not be involved in completing the final stretch of the Queensway Gateway Road, having been informed by the County Council's intention to use its own highways contractor to finish the long-awaited scheme.
01:33The road, which is set to connect Queensway with the A21 in Hastings, was originally slated for completion in November 2016, but it has been beset by a series of delays at various stages.
01:45The only stretch of the road which is yet to be completed is its final connection to the A21.
01:50A petition to reopen a popular family attraction in Eastbourne has been created after the Council announced it would not operate this summer.
