00:31 President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Liza Marcos arrived in Prague Castle.

00:37 The reception of Czech Republic President Petr Pavel was warm.

00:42 He was welcomed by arrival owners who followed the bilateral meeting.

00:46 The President said that he had many good opportunities to talk with President Pavel.

00:51 In my talks with the President, we explored various opportunities for future partnerships

00:59 in trade and investment, agriculture, green economy, and renewable energy,

01:05 space and aerospace, education, tourism, defense and cyber security, and of course labor, amongst others.

01:15 The President also praised the country's economic performance.

01:19 This is the reason for the Philippines to become a destination for Czech investments,

01:24 including ITBPM Electronics, Manufacturing, and Agriculture.

01:28 I am optimistic that we will be able to attract more Czech traders and investors to do business with the Philippines

01:36 as a result of this increased engagement between our respective business sectors.

01:42 We look forward to the convening of the second meeting of the Philippines-Czech Republic

01:47 Joint Committee on Economic Cooperation in Manila that will occur later this year.

01:53 The number of Filipinos in the Czech Republic is increasing, which is why people-to-people relations are being strengthened.

01:58 Two leaders signed the Joint Communique for the safe migration and protection of the rights of Filipino migrant workers.

02:05 I took note of the Czech Republic's announcement that you have increased the quota for Filipino workers

02:12 from 5,500 to almost double that from January 2024 to 10,300 per year starting in May of 2024.

02:24 President Marcos Jr. also reiterated the right of the Philippines to the West Philippine Sea.

02:30 The President said that the country's fight against the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea or UNCLOS is in place.

02:37 While it is unfortunate that there are still persistent incidents of aggression and harassment in the South China Sea,

02:44 we continue to engage all our neighbors and stakeholders through diplomacy and dialogue.

02:50 The President also thanked Pavel for his support in upholding the peace and rules-based international order.

02:57 This state visit reaffirms the Philippines' commitment in further cultivating the bonds and friendship

03:05 which the Czech Republic and cementing the enduring ties between our countries and our people.
