00:05they could muster to keep affairs between political rivals under control in Basilan.

00:10Some two dozens are in place thus far with four in Lamitan City and six in Isabela City

00:29As the nationwide election gun ban for 2025 national and local elections kick off in January

00:3512, the Commission on Election together with the police, military and other law enforcement

00:40agencies has established several checkpoints to ensure its strict implementation and prevent

00:46election-related violence.

00:49General Alvin Luzon, commander of the 101st Brigade Philippine Army, said that 24 checkpoints

00:55have been established across the province, of which six are in Isabela City, four in

01:01Lamitan City and the rest are in strategic municipalities.

01:06General Luzon also appealed for the cooperation of everyone in the implementation of gun ban

01:11for their own safety and security.

01:15As we start the implementation of gun ban and we are really strictly enforcing this,

01:25to abide by the prohibition of election gun ban and we also solicit cooperation of everyone.

01:43Meanwhile, Atty.

01:44Muhaymin Ali, election officer in Isabela City, said that aside from the established

01:49checkpoint, the Philippine National Police has also won mobile checkpoints going around

01:54different barangays.

01:55We are ensuring the safety of our countrymen in Isabela City.

02:01For SOAN to Section 32 of the Republic Act No. 7166, during the election period, no person

02:21shall bear, carry or transport firearms or other deadly weapons in public places, including

02:27any building, street, park, private vehicle or public convenience, even if licensed to

02:33possess or carry the same unless authorized in writing by the Commission.

02:38The issuance of firearms licenses shall be suspended during the election period.
