00:00Health care, or the nation's physical and mental wellness, is as much a priority like jobs, education, food security in President Ferdinand Marquez Jr.'s working agenda and in government's working agenda.

00:15Vaccination, expanded geographical coverage, information on proper nutrition are but a few items that PTV's Bien Manalo details in this report.

00:27A few years after the COVID-19 pandemic hit the country, strengthening the health sector has been a priority of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr.

00:38Hence, the Department of Health's conception of eight priority programs, including the strengthening of vaccination, mental health, and HIV AIDS control.

00:47The Bukas Center will also be expanded, which has 43 functional centers in different parts of the country, as well as the Bagong Pilipinas Mobile Clinic and Purok Kalusugan, which aim to reach out to our countrymen in remote or far-flung areas.

01:02The department will continue to focus on the delivery of quality and affordable health care to Filipinos in geographically isolated areas throughout the country.

01:12Attention will also be focused on the nutrition of Filipinos by intensifying information dissemination.

01:19We will be the healthiest people here in the ASEAN region and for government to be able to provide affordable, quality health care.

01:30The DOH will continue to address the problems of the spread of different diseases such as dengue, tuberculosis, and mpox.

01:38The country's health care facilities will also propagate. Priority will be given to the deployment of health care workers in areas where medical assistance is in great need, raising the salary of government health care workers, and providing continuing training or upskilling for their career and professional growth.

01:55The DOH assures PhilHealth's continued service to our citizens.

02:00PhilHealth is very healthy. In fact, we just approved in the board a Php 284 billion corporate operating budget, and we have been increasing the benefit packages.

02:13Vaccination will also be strengthened in the country, in particular childhood immunization that can protect kids from 16 serious ailments simultaneously.

02:22Because of this, the department targets to cover 95% immunized children in the entire country by 2025.
