00:00The Department of Social Welfare and Development, or DSWD, will further expand its Walang Gutom Kitchen program.
00:07According to the agency, this initiative can be done in the second quarter of 2025, coinciding with the conclusion of the pilot run of the program.
00:16One of the key steps in expanding the Walang Gutom Kitchen program is strengthening volunteers and food donors.
00:23Another plan involves deploying a mobile kitchen to areas outside the National Capital Region, or NCR.
00:30The program is one of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.'s initiatives aimed at ensuring that no Filipino goes hungry and addressing the country's issue of food waste.
00:42Actually, the Department of Social Welfare and Development has procured mobile kitchens.
00:47These will be used in areas affected by disasters so that we can provide alternative family food packs.
00:58Although our kitchen is located in Pasay, it also caters to nearby cities within the National Capital Region.
