00:11 A Sussex Police spokesperson confirmed this morning that police were called to reports of an unprovoked assault in Seaside Road, Eastbourne, at around 6.15pm on Thursday, March 7th.
00:22 They said the victim, a 50-year-old man from Eastbourne, was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, adding that a 39-year-old man from Eastbourne was arrested.
00:32 Musician Dave Roundtree, who is the drummer with the band Blur, is set to stand for election as MP for Mid Sussex.
00:39 He has been selected as Labour's parliamentary candidate for the district at the next general election.
