Transcript
00:00 You're obviously still a big University of Miami football fan.
00:03 We've had some lean years and some tough years.
00:05 What are your impressions so far of Mario Cristobal?
00:10 And do you think things are heading in the right direction now?
00:12 I love what Mario is doing.
00:17 And people have to understand, like things take time
00:19 and a lot of times people don't have patience in life, you know, and
00:23 being a college coach is a tough coach nowadays with the portal
00:27 and all that, you know, going on.
00:29 But one thing I love about Mario is discipline and he know what it takes.
00:34 You know, he's been in the University of Miami program.
00:36 He's been around Alabama, been around success, his whole coaching career
00:41 and playing career. So he's not lacking of any of that.
00:45 You know, and now he's coming back down where, you know, down south
00:49 to the bottom where, you know, hey, recruiting is key.
00:52 You know, we can keep our Florida boys in, you know, in, stay down south.
00:57 And if we can do that, I think we got away from that
01:00 for, you know, too long.
01:04 And I think that's one of the things I love about him is because he's coming back
01:08 and he's bringing that he know where it starts.
01:10 You know, when he was in Alabama, he understood that.
01:12 Hey, Nick Saban coming down south to pluck these guys out of Florida.
01:15 But why? So I love seeing us trying to say
01:19 South Florida's trying to stay Florida and recruit.
01:23 And I think he's been doing a pretty good job, you know.
01:27 Everybody wants to success, you know, but it doesn't work like that.
01:31 So I'm happy what I'm seeing with him.
01:33 I'm glad we started, you know, see recruits come in.
01:36 But it's it's going to take it's going to take some time.
01:40 So all I all I ask is I don't want to have a team that I see quick,
01:46 you know, and I mean, a Mario Cristobal team.
01:49 I don't think you see that.
01:50 You've seen dog because a team takes the cat,
01:55 the rest of the coach, you know, and I know Mario, he's a tough son of a gun.
01:59 So I know we're going to have some tough team.
02:02 We will have a tough team.
02:03 We'll always have a tough team and competitive.
02:04 That's the main thing.
02:05 Competitive is just being able to compete at the highest level,
02:10 no matter who you play, just being able to compete.
02:12 And I think the more we start getting the recruits rolling in,
02:17 the more Mario Stark having his handprint on his system,
02:20 how he want to run it, how he want to do things.
02:23 I think we start seeing some light at the end of the tunnel and
02:25 hopefully we can bring the canes back.
