00:34 That is part of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s arrival message when he arrived last night from his successful state visit to Australia.

00:42 President Marcos said that the relationship between the Philippines and Australia is still improving in various aspects,

00:48 such as defense and security.

00:50 This is after the first visit to the Philippines last year by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

00:56 Because of this, he thanked the Australian government for their continued support in the South China Sea.

01:03 President Marcos also told Australian legislators the importance of the Philippine and Australian follow-up

01:09 on the rules-based international order for global geopolitics.

01:13 The closer cooperation in this field was fully emphasized in my speech to the esteemed Parliament of Australia,

01:19 the first ever for a Filipino President.

01:22 As democratic maritime nations, access to the global commons, such as the oceans and the seas, must be ensured and safeguarded.

01:31 President Marcos also emphasized the importance of the cooperation between the two countries in promoting economic growth,

01:37 in his visit to Prime Minister Albanese, where they discussed the issue of law, civilization and security.

01:44 I had productive discussions with Australia's parliamentary leadership,

01:48 including with the President of the Senate, with the Speaker of Australia's House of Representatives,

01:53 and with the Leader of the Opposition.

01:55 Their support is instrumental in developing an enabling policy environment

02:00 for the continuous upward orientation of our bilateral relations.

02:04 Concluding such MOUs will pave the way for more mutually beneficial undertakings,

02:09 information sharing and capacity building foreseen to promote closer bilateral ties

02:16 and also to contribute to regional development, peace and prosperity.

02:20 President Marcos is positive that his state visit to Australia will bear fruit.
