We went for a look inside the newest Starbucks on the Fylde Coast to find out how they are planning to do good in the community.
Kat Jakielska (store manager) and Matt Lawson (district manager for Café Fortune franchises) are hoping to organise litter picks, community events and insist their brand is good for the town of St Anne's.
Plus they give their drinks recommendations.

00:00 Our big focus in Starbucks is always creating a place of warmth and belonging.
00:04 So we really lean into that here at Cafe Fortune.
00:06 And the whole element for us is to make sure that we get the right people in
00:10 and spread that community feel within an area.
00:13 We're not here to step on anyone's toes,
00:15 but we want to make sure that we are part of that community and helping out in any way that we can.
00:20 Yes, Starbucks is this big global brand and yes, there is that kind of stigma out there,
00:25 but people need to look a little bit deeper at a store on store level.
00:27 You know, the idea is we create a hub of a community
00:30 and we create an area where people can be themselves and belong within a certain area.
00:34 Always, we always look to make sure that the stores don't kind of take over
00:38 or be part of a kind of like an overbearing element.
00:43 We try to make sure that we fit in, we hire local, we look after and we support local areas.
00:47 And that's kind of the way I suppose we get around that idea of that we are this big corporate world.
00:53 Because sometimes it has like such an amazing community.
00:58 Like it's everyone for me is like how I can see that is very close.
01:05 There is like a lot of like teenagers when they don't have anywhere to go.
01:11 Sometimes when they finish college, there is nothing to do.
01:15 They can come to Starbucks, they can enjoy their drinks.
01:17 The frappuccinos are very popular with the young people.
01:22 And that can be for everyone.
01:25 The Starbucks is for everyone from the very young age to the like elderly people for everyone basically.
01:32 I love independence, you know, as a brand we love independence.
01:35 We want them to survive, you know, they bring a great thing into coffee
01:39 and we just offer a different spin on that.
01:41 You know, our brand, our loyalty can bring people to the town.
01:45 It brings people further off the beach, you know, it brings people off this way
01:48 and it's more about creating that community environment.
01:51 What's your favorite drink?
01:53 That's a great question.
01:55 So currently my favorite drinks are not milk flat white.
01:57 I'm literally known to get them everywhere I go.
02:00 But in the summer, I love cold brew, you know,
02:02 cold brew is a great drink and it's really versatile.
02:04 So it's a good thing to add cold coffee just on a hot day.
02:08 It's lovely, you know, it can't be can't be beaten.
02:10 My favorite drink is a Christmas drink, which is toffee nut latte,
02:16 which is like I always have like a soft spot when it's coming to Starbucks.
02:20 I'm always so, so excited.
02:23 I think we will have some surprises for summer as well,
02:26 like a very like a new frappuccinos coming, which will they will be very exciting.
02:32 For summer, refresher, like we have like a strawberry acai refresher,
02:36 a cool lime refresher, that will be definitely some kind,
02:39 some kind of new drinks as well in this line.
02:41 One thing that we'll be looking at doing, lots of little picks.
02:44 We want to be involved in beach cleans.
02:46 We want to make sure that we do charity events during Christmas, during Easter,
02:50 whenever there's an opportunity to be available, we'll always be there to help.
02:54 So obviously, I guess this would be a great moment to say, you know,
02:56 if anyone's out there that within the local area of St.
02:58 Anne's that has any charitable causes that want us to help, feel free to reach out
03:02 and we can obviously start and really get involved in those community fields
03:06 and make sure that we're using this space for what it was designed for,
03:09 which is a space for people to connect, people to kind of get to know each other,
03:12 but also be something valuable to the community as a whole.
