UW coach Jedd Fisch spoke about hiring Steve Belichick.

00:35 He's been a play caller for four years in the NFL. That was a big part of it

00:44 There is the fact that he called games for I think it ended up being

00:55 So when you when you're a play caller, you have a unique

00:57 Ability to react his defense was ranked overall in those four years number two in

01:04 Total total defense when you take the efficiency grade that that's given out

01:10 They know how to take the ball away. They believe in fundamentals. They believe in tackling they believe in

01:20 Really what it takes to be good in college football, which is the basics and if you're around coach Belichick or

01:31 understand that before we do anything we better learn how to

01:34 shed a block and tackle and set the edge and play with great fundamentals and

01:41 When I met with Steve and we interviewed Steve that was his really the biggest pitch that he made was

01:47 we're going to focus on making these kids great football players.
