Washington Huskies defensive coordinator Steve Belichick speaks Tuesday about Eastern Michigan and new transfer quarterback Cole Snyder's impact on the Eagles' offense.
Transcript
00:00So, I always appreciate the player feedback on that stuff.
00:05When you look at Eastern Michigan,
00:06how much tape do you go back and look at Cole Snyder
00:08when he was at Buffalo and how much do you compare that
00:10with what he's done in his first week at Eastern Michigan?
00:13Yeah, I just think it's a balance of, you know,
00:17the individual player and the scheme that they're in.
00:21You know, if a guy's really fast, it doesn't matter what scheme he plays in,
00:24he's a really fast player.
00:25If a quarterback has a good arm, it doesn't matter what scheme he's in,
00:28he has a good arm.
00:29So, how they're utilized in the scheme is relative
00:34and then what the scheme is is relative as well.
00:38Steven, I don't know if you had a chance
00:40or are planning on looking at last year's Eastern Michigan offense,
00:44but it seems like they got better with this quarterback.
00:47I think they had more yards against UMass than they did at all last year.
00:51Do you see a team that's gotten better on that side of the ball?
00:54Yeah, for sure.
00:55I mean, every team is different.
00:57You know, me and BC weren't together last year.
00:59It doesn't matter where we were.
01:01We're a new team here at Washington, so it doesn't really matter.
01:05Every team changes year to year, so you can't buy into that too much,
01:09looking at the stats too much, but evaluating what you see out there.
