NFL writer Ben Volin believes that Bill Belichick will go down as the 'greatest coach of the modern NFL era'.

00:00 Belichick's legacy with the Patriots, he'll still go down as, I think, the greatest coach of the
00:05 modern NFL, you know, 2000 and beyond. No one will ever take away the championships that he won,
00:12 the run of success. I mean, they had like 17 division titles in 19 years, just crazy, you know,
00:20 11 straight AFC championship games, just remarkable run of success. I think clearly
00:29 it's leaning towards the Patriots moving on that, you know, he's had four years now since Tom Brady
00:34 left and it's really gone backwards. They only made the playoffs one in those four seasons,
00:40 didn't win a playoff game at all. They got blown out the one time they did make it. It's really
00:45 five straight years without a playoff win since Tom Brady's final year as well. And this year was
00:51 just, you know, it was terrible. 4-13, dead last in the league in scoring. Mac Jones completely
00:58 falls apart. The offense is even worse than last year. You know, maybe if you can find a way to
01:03 fix the offense, find someone to bring in in the front office, maybe it's not the craziest idea
01:08 that, you know, you're not going to find anyone better to coach the team than Bill Belichick,
01:12 give him another chance. So I wouldn't say it's guaranteed 100% that he's gone, but certainly the
01:19 vibe inside the building, everywhere around the league is that this is finally it for Bill
01:24 ballot check.
