00:00 When it comes to, you know, Miami's weapons, wide receivers, we could talk
00:03 about the tight end usage as well because, you know, Miami, they just
00:06 brought in a Lamborghini at quarterback.
00:08 Like they bring in the most sought after guy in the transfer portal and cam ward.
00:13 Miami does return at wide receiver Xavier Restrepo, who had over a thousand
00:18 yards last year was top 20 in the country in yardage to Colby.
00:22 George had a productive season, scored a lot of touchdowns last year.
00:26 Uh, you know, they bring back guys like Isaiah Horton, Ray, Ray Joseph,
00:30 Robbie Washington, Shamar Kirk.
00:32 You got Jojo Trader, who's crushing the off season workouts coming in as a
00:36 freshman, Nye Carr, Chance Robinson.
00:39 A lot of these guys are unproven, obviously outside of X and George.
00:42 So your take Lamar Thomas on the current quarterback or the current
00:47 a wide receiver room at Miami.
00:49 And do you think they have enough there?
00:51 Yeah, let me just throw this in LT because the talk really is nothing
00:55 about the receivers it's mostly been about, do we have a deep threat?
00:59 Do we need a deep threat?
01:01 And why haven't we gotten one?
01:03 Cause we're now in February already.
01:05 The season starts in the next couple of weeks.
01:07 Go ahead, buddy.
01:08 Well, I can tell you this, that, you know, I do believe Mario and, uh,
01:12 Steven field and the rest of that, uh, coaching staff and recruiting, uh,
01:17 staff or do diligence and doing a due diligence to try to find that guy.
01:22 You know, it's, it's important.
01:23 You know, last year we had, uh, number four, uh, he was our outside guy.
01:28 You need a guy like that because it opens up things for the Restrepo.
01:32 You know, you can't leave a guy like that single covered because, you know, he can
01:37 go up and make 50, 50 plays and, and score touchdowns.
01:41 So you have to kind of defense is kind of have to, if they're smart, they kind of
01:46 have to shift their focus to a guy like that for me back in the day.
01:49 And, you know, Bruce, I have to go back in the day.
01:51 It's what I know.
01:53 You know, there's a Horace Copeland, you know, a guy like that, open it up for
01:57 guys like my guys, like myself and Daryl Spencer, we had Horace Copeland and Kevin
02:02 Williams, those guys could take the top off things.
02:04 And they were good enough that you had to shift your defense.
02:08 And once you did that, it opened up things for Coleman Bell and Steven
02:12 McGuire, you know, you need a guy like that.
02:15 Now you find a guy like that, somebody didn't get down to feel and, and, and
02:21 make our defensive coordinator say, we have to respect this guy.
02:25 Now it opens up things for the restructural.
02:27 You find a tight end come about, you know the, the other kid, George,
02:32 he had a great year last year, but I don't really consider him.
02:35 That main outside guy yet.
02:38 You know, I think personally for him, he needs to, and I've even told Kevin
02:43 Beard that who's doing an outstanding job, by the way you gotta make sure this
02:50 kid understands how important he is.
02:52 You know, you can't do make dumb mistakes, you know, and I mean, not, not
02:57 just on the field, but off the field, right.
02:59 They correlate, you know, I've always believed it, but guys doing what he's
03:03 supposed to do off the field and being, trying to be the best person that he can
03:08 be, then that will help him be a better football player also, it go hand in hand.
