00:00 PTV Balita is back. The Commission on Elections will now stop accepting documents that have signatures for the People's Initiative to amend the 1987 Constitution.
00:13 This was announced by Comelec Chairperson George Garcia in the visa of Comelec Resolution No. 10650 issued by Comelec On Bank. This will be part of the suspension of Comelec from all proceedings related to the People's Initiative while it is undergoing a deeper study.
00:33 Comelec has now received signature forms from 1,072 municipalities and cities.
00:42 The Bureau of Internal Revenue or BIR, Commissioner Romeo Lumagi Jr. clarified that small online sellers are not included in their withholding tax.
01:05 BIR is a system that allows online sellers to use their platform but small online sellers who do not earn more than P500,000 in a year are not included.
01:17 For those who earn more than P500,000, they need to pay taxes and be a part of the retail sector and those who have brick and mortar stores that regularly pay taxes.
01:31 Commissioner Lumagi hopes that BIR will help online sellers in their tax obligations.
