00:00:20 Hi, welcome into another edition of the Patreon Nation Podcast, of course, brought to you
00:00:36 by FanDuel, the official sportswear partner of CLNS Media.
00:00:40 Go to fanduel.com/boston and sign up today.
00:00:43 Don't do that though if you are in college and under 21 and potentially have a chance
00:00:50 to go to the NFL.
00:00:51 Don't do that.
00:00:52 Don't do it.
00:00:53 Only do it if you're over 21 and you're legally creating one.
00:00:58 And especially don't do it if you're going to fake your name.
00:01:02 If you're going to fake it and you're going to create a fake account, maybe don't do it
00:01:05 with your full name and your jersey number.
00:01:07 I'm just, you know, just a pro tip for you guys out there.
00:01:11 If you are planning on breaking the law, don't do it with your full name and jersey number.
00:01:16 Yeah.
00:01:17 Yeah.
00:01:18 We hope you're all smart enough to either not break the law or if you do it and not
00:01:22 get caught.
00:01:23 Yeah.
00:01:24 Oh my goodness.
00:01:26 Unbelievable.
00:01:27 Unbelievable.
00:01:28 So that's the Kesha On Booty news.
00:01:30 If you haven't heard, somehow, if you're under a rock, Kesha On Booty apparently lied and
00:01:36 created a fake account, well, a real account, but under a fake name, which was his name,
00:01:42 but pretended to be 21 and made like 9,000 bets.
00:01:48 First of all, can I just tell you now, I don't know how much he gambled.
00:01:52 I don't know how much money he put in, but he took out like $600,000.
00:01:58 So like maybe Kesha On Booty should retire from the NFL and become, you know, a, become
00:02:05 like a gambling expert.
00:02:06 He could be, listen, there's a spot here.
00:02:08 We are famously bad at gambling.
00:02:11 There's a spot here on this podcast for Kesha On Booty and we will split the money with
00:02:16 him like 90, just give us like 10%, like 90, 10.
00:02:21 Just come on the show.
00:02:22 I'm sure CLNS will pay you, right?
00:02:24 Come on the show.
00:02:25 CLNS will pay you.
00:02:26 Just give us a 10% cut.
00:02:27 You are an insider and gambling expert.
00:02:28 And you're our guy, a gambling insider.
00:02:30 I mean, you know, it's no brainer.
00:02:33 Yeah, man, that is, and the school knew, they said, I believe the school knew back in July.
00:02:40 That's what they, that was the word, yeah.
00:02:43 I don't know.
00:02:44 I tend to think at least some people were on the locker room probably knew before that
00:02:49 because I don't believe that in NFL, a star college athlete bets hundreds of thousands
00:02:56 of dollars and doesn't tell you any of his teammates.
00:02:59 Like I just don't believe that's what's going on.
00:03:02 And if his teammates know, you know, he's got enough of a reputation that some coaches
00:03:07 have an idea of what's going on.
00:03:09 A hundred percent.
00:03:10 And this is the way things went with Booty declaring for the draft was so bizarre because
00:03:14 he announced that he was returning to LSU and within like 48 hours announced, actually
00:03:20 I'm going to the draft.
00:03:22 And that never happens if the school wants you to come back.
00:03:25 Right.
00:03:26 So you put, you put all of these things together and it's a concerning picture around what
00:03:31 he was coming out and makes you wonder what NFL teams knew if they knew this was going
00:03:36 on or at least they knew he had a reputation, but yeah, the Patriots made as many picks
00:03:42 as they did and they got a good receiver out of this draft.
00:03:44 So I don't think it hurts the Patriots too much, but having two straight drafts with
00:03:47 somebody getting arrested is really not the streak we're going for right now.
00:03:52 Not ideal.
00:03:53 Not ideal.
00:03:54 And it's, you know, I do think it's a six round pick.
00:03:58 Like you knew going into it, it was a shot in the dark, you know, and you looked at it
00:04:05 and just said like, Hey, probably not going to be anything, but he put up crazy numbers
00:04:10 as rookie year, looked really good in practice, had the all time receiving record for yards
00:04:16 in a game at LSU where places like Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase were there and right.
00:04:24 You know, let's just see what happens.
00:04:25 Let's just see, right.
00:04:26 Six round.
00:04:27 Look what that, what do you get to lose?
00:04:28 Right.
00:04:29 And it's, it seems as though he's not going to be on the team anymore.
00:04:34 But like, you know, whatever you lost, you're going to pick out of it.
00:04:37 You know what I mean?
00:04:38 Well, I think it all depends on how the case plays out too.
00:04:41 Cause this, like it's not in the Jack Jones thing was similar in their bar, but like they're
00:04:47 not, neither are dangerous crimes, neither on its own is necessarily some heinous, immoral
00:04:53 act.
00:04:54 So, you know, he, he might get cut.
00:04:57 He might not.
00:04:58 I'm going to let the Patriots kind of put out a statement saying nothing earlier today
00:05:03 on this one.
00:05:04 So we'll wait and see.
00:05:05 But I also think anybody who's projecting the roster for this team, when you're projecting
00:05:09 a fifth or way too early 53 man roster right now, K-Sean Booty is not on that without things
00:05:16 changing with his play on the field anyway.
00:05:18 So it was already an uphill climb for him.
00:05:20 And this point, it's an uphill climb for him to be on the roster in May.
00:05:23 We're going to start there and see if he'll be on the roster in May.
00:05:27 I hope he figures it out.
00:05:29 And you know, for, for a guy who had off field concerns coming out of college, this is not
00:05:33 what he needed.
00:05:34 Yeah, I would agree with that.
00:05:36 And so, you know, and look, it is what it is.
00:05:39 Someone Gary asked and that already answered him.
00:05:41 A Gary asked, has he been suspended yet?
00:05:42 He's not been suspended.
00:05:43 No, nothing has nothing's come out about it officially.
00:05:50 But yeah, it's not a good, it doesn't look good.
00:05:52 I don't know exactly where the NFL's purview falls here either, because this is, it's,
00:05:57 I mean, it's obviously illegal things and he's, there's a felony charge in the stuff
00:06:03 for him, but he didn't do any of this in the NFL.
00:06:06 As far as I can tell, it all happened to pre NFL.
00:06:08 Correct.
00:06:09 If you're the NFL, you may look at this and say, Hey, this isn't our problem.
00:06:12 You know, we'll handle it and go from there.
00:06:15 And I also don't, cause it was serious amounts of money.
00:06:18 I don't know how, how Louisiana is going to handle this.
00:06:21 Like there's a felony charge in there.
00:06:23 And this is one of those things that, you know, I, I kind of doubt they're going to
00:06:27 pursue that harshly.
00:06:28 They may just go for a plea deal here and say, dude, do not do this again, but they
00:06:33 can pursue this aggressively.
00:06:34 And, you know, I wouldn't be surprised if a state does, especially a state like Louisiana
00:06:39 with high end college athletics may want to set a standard early of this is unacceptable.
00:06:45 And we have these laws for a reason.
00:06:47 We do not want these college athletes who donors in our state are paying millions of
00:06:52 dollars to have come play for our school, then turning around and spending that money
00:06:56 to gamble on our school.
00:06:58 In case you're on, he was literally gambling on his own lines and gambles on the over and
00:07:03 produced the under, unfortunately for him, but it's how it goes sometimes.
00:07:09 So it wouldn't shock me to see the state go pursue higher charges and really prosecute
00:07:14 this to the fullest extent we will see, but I'm sure if this ends up in any actual prison
00:07:19 time for him whatsoever, he's not going to stay in new England because there's no reason
00:07:22 to keep him around.
00:07:23 Absolutely not.
00:07:24 Absolutely not.
00:07:25 No.
00:07:26 So we'll see.
00:07:27 We'll see how it goes, but it doesn't look good, especially for a guy who really had
00:07:31 a tough time kind of doing anything this year.
00:07:33 Right.
00:07:34 So yeah, it's funny too, because after the first game, we kind of felt decent about him
00:07:39 and that was essentially his best game of the season.
00:07:41 I know what it is.
00:07:42 What was his, did he, did he, did he have a catch this year?
00:07:47 I don't think he did.
00:07:48 No, I don't think he did.
00:07:49 He had one.
00:07:50 He might have had a catch, right?
00:07:51 Did he have a catch at some point?
00:07:54 Seven targets, two catches, 19 yards.
00:07:56 He had a catch at the Giants and a catch against the Colts and that's, that was it for him.
00:08:01 He had four targets against the Eagles and three targets for the rest of the season.
00:08:06 Right.
00:08:07 Couldn't get his foot down twice.
00:08:08 Yeah.
00:08:09 You know, I think back to the, I think it was the old Tom Brady documentary and the
00:08:15 Brady six one, but I talk about how everybody gets an opportunity in the NFL, but sometimes
00:08:21 that opportunity is very, very thin and you make a bad play and your opportunity is gone
00:08:27 and that's it.
00:08:28 And that could be it for Booty, that the four targets in his first game and not getting
00:08:32 his foot down.
00:08:33 That was, that was one of the quarterbacks who was drafted before Brady.
00:08:35 You mentioned that getting like one start in the NFL and that was it for him.
00:08:40 Yeah.
00:08:41 Yeah.
00:08:42 Do what Giovanni Comasi?
00:08:43 Um, no, I don't know if he knows that documentary exists.
00:08:46 That's a good point.
00:08:47 Great point.
00:08:48 So, all right, so let's get into, let's get into the coaching stuff, which is what we
00:08:52 want to really get into today.
00:08:54 Um, is the coaching carousel in the NFL.
00:08:56 Of course the big news coming out today was that Raheem Morris just got hired as the Atlanta
00:09:03 Falcons head coach.
00:09:04 Of course, that's the only place, um, that's the only place that Bill Belichick has interviewed
00:09:11 as of yet.
00:09:12 Um, and of course, so they didn't, they did not hire him.
00:09:16 Um, you know, it's, it's confusing to me.
00:09:23 It's confusing to me.
00:09:24 Um, Raheem Morris, I saw a few people were excited about Raheem Morris getting hired
00:09:30 there.
00:09:31 Uh, Panthers did hire their head coach as well.
00:09:34 Um, and we're going to kind of go around and talk about it, but you know, I'm curious to,
00:09:40 to see what you think about it.
00:09:41 I just, I don't, Raheem Morris, I don't know.
00:09:45 I don't get it.
00:09:46 I don't get it.
00:09:47 I like it because he's both young and experienced.
00:09:51 Like he's 47, um, and he's been in Atlanta before.
00:09:57 He was actually the interim head coach in Atlanta just a couple of years ago.
00:10:01 We've been around the NFL.
00:10:02 He's been a defensive coach and an offensive coach.
00:10:05 He has really good connections because of that.
00:10:07 He like, he was in Washington, I think, when like McVay and McDaniel, all those guys were
00:10:11 there.
00:10:12 He was just on the defensive side of the ball.
00:10:13 Um, and I was been in LA, uh, opposite McVay.
00:10:17 And it sounds like you've got a guy who is widely regarded as a good leader of men and
00:10:25 he has really good coaching connections to bring people in.
00:10:28 It also did sound like there were some issues there with the front office in Atlanta with,
00:10:34 you know, getting on the same page about where to go next.
00:10:37 And I think this is a hire who kind of fits in that in a way, some of the other ones won't,
00:10:42 which I'm sure we'll talk about here.
00:10:45 Um, I do like the hire for them.
00:10:48 And I think the fact that he's likely coming with Zach Robinson as well as the offensive
00:10:52 coordinator, which, you know, hurts up here in new England a little bit, makes that really
00:10:57 good for them because they got an offensive line that's ready to run that kind of system
00:11:00 with Chris Lindstrom there.
00:11:02 And, um, some of those offensive weapons, I think you're going to get put to very good
00:11:05 use there if they can find a quarterback and the defensive head coach primarily who knows
00:11:11 defensive backs and Jesse Bates is the strength there and they have a, the Falcons had a defense
00:11:16 that has quietly come on as a very solid unit.
00:11:18 And now you add a defensive head coach, right.
00:11:20 And can take advantage of that.
00:11:23 I don't think it's a hire that like is super sexy or knocks the doors off, but I'm also,
00:11:29 you know, it doesn't really matter if you win the press conference.
00:11:32 It doesn't matter if you're the Adam Schefter, you know, hired coach announcement that gets
00:11:39 the most likes.
00:11:40 Uh, it matters if the guy can win.
00:11:42 And I think he's got a nice resume that I think I see what they're going for here.
00:11:48 Yeah.
00:11:49 No, you know what?
00:11:50 I get it.
00:11:51 Um, I get it.
00:11:54 I just, I don't know.
00:11:57 I don't, I just never thought he was very good when he was in Tampa and maybe, maybe
00:12:02 some new experience will help him and he'll be better than he was.
00:12:06 I also think, so I don't want to, I don't want to go down a conspiracy theory hole and
00:12:13 I'm not going to do it, but I am, I am going to pull up one and I forgot to, I forgot to
00:12:18 hear this old man mob.
00:12:23 So I just, I think it's a little strange by the way he says, in my opinion, craft is setting
00:12:30 bill and now may or to be the fall guys.
00:12:33 I think it's a little strange that he Morris gets hired and okay.
00:12:43 Morris gets hired.
00:12:44 That's great.
00:12:45 Awesome.
00:12:46 Now they have a CEO.
00:12:48 They're not, they're not going directly to the CEO and I'm not sure if you saw this one
00:12:52 or not, but they're not reporting directly to the CEO.
00:12:54 They're reporting directly to the owner.
00:12:56 Yeah.
00:12:58 And that's, that's interesting to me.
00:13:01 I just, I just don't know, right.
00:13:05 Does Robert Kraft say something off the blank?
00:13:06 Like man, it was a pain in the ass to deal with and you don't want to deal with them.
00:13:13 And I don't know, but I don't know.
00:13:16 All the reports that I had heard about Atlanta were that are there blank is the one who wanted
00:13:20 Belichick and it was the other guys in the front office who were not sold on the idea.
00:13:27 I think, I think they also just, you know, have had issues figuring out what they want
00:13:31 and they Arthur Blanks kind of setting the tone here and saying, Oh, this is how things
00:13:35 are going to go.
00:13:36 And this is the, this is the order of operations here, you know, letting everybody know who's
00:13:40 in charge.
00:13:41 Yeah.
00:13:42 I do it.
00:13:43 I do it.
00:13:44 Rahim Morris is an underwhelming name.
00:13:45 I didn't think that highly of him a couple of years ago, but it's clear at least from
00:13:49 the impressions of people around the league that his time in LA has helped his voice
00:13:53 and refreshed him.
00:13:56 I also completely forgot, you know, he's known as a defensive coach.
00:13:59 That's how he came up.
00:14:00 That's what he was in Tampa.
00:14:02 That's what he was in Washington.
00:14:04 He was in Atlanta.
00:14:05 He was the pass game coordinator and wide receivers coach for that Atlanta team.
00:14:10 I ended up going to the Superbowl with Matt Ryan.
00:14:12 So good offensive stuff there from him.
00:14:15 So, you know, there's some good stuff like his time in Tampa.
00:14:18 I just didn't, didn't love, but I do think it's for Atlanta.
00:14:22 It's a name that's familiar and a guy they know who also has the ties to an offensive
00:14:26 system that everybody wants in their building these days, right after they got rid of a
00:14:31 guy who was known for an offensive system, didn't deliver on it.
00:14:35 So it seems like that's, they're going for the, all right, we're going to go for a different
00:14:38 offensive system here, but guy who has those connections.
00:14:41 And, you know, I see, I see what Atlanta is going for with Rahim Morris and you talk about
00:14:46 the Bill Belichick of it all.
00:14:48 I'm going to, I had tweeted this earlier, but I think both of the things I'm about to
00:14:52 say are true.
00:14:53 First, Bill Belichick is the greatest coach of all time and he's got the rings to prove
00:14:58 it.
00:14:59 I don't really feel like I have to elaborate too much on that argument.
00:15:01 We all know why.
00:15:02 I also would be very skeptical of hiring him if he's a 72 year old head coach coming off
00:15:09 of probably the worst season he's had as a head coach in over two decades, who is saying
00:15:18 that he wants GM control of your team.
00:15:20 And he's probably bringing Josh McDaniels with him, a guy who just lost his job in Las
00:15:25 Vegas.
00:15:26 And maybe he wants to bring Matt Patricia with him, a guy who we've all seen the issues
00:15:30 with Matt Patricia over the last decade.
00:15:32 If you're a GM, that's a lot, there's a lot of baggage there.
00:15:36 And obviously it's a Bill Belichick and you don't want to turn down Bill Belichick.
00:15:40 But Bill Belichick with a lot of strings attached on a short window versus, you know, in a theory
00:15:46 of Raheem Morris, when you hire him, you're thinking this can be our guy for 20, 30 years
00:15:51 and he can be our Bill Belichick.
00:15:53 And you know, um, well, and you're not, yeah, you're not wrong.
00:15:57 I just, I just wonder, I wonder with Bill, like, is he that stubborn that he's like,
00:16:06 I need all the control.
00:16:07 I need Josh McDaniels, I need Matt Patricia.
00:16:10 Like, I just, I feel like if he went in there and they said, look, we'd love to hire you,
00:16:15 but we need someone else with a little checks and balances.
00:16:19 Like, I think that, that he'd be foolish not to at least consider that in my opinion.
00:16:27 I also think too, like if he, if he said, well, I want, you know, McDaniels and Patricia
00:16:33 and they said, well, we'll hire you, but we're not hiring McDaniels and Patricia too.
00:16:38 Then I think that's another one where he looks at it and says, I don't know, man, like, fine.
00:16:43 Hey guys, I love you, but like, I'm going to go somewhere else and try to win, you know?
00:16:48 Yeah.
00:16:49 Well, I do also think part of this is like Bill Belichick is 72 years old and a lot of
00:16:54 the people that he coached already have successful jobs elsewhere.
00:16:58 He's, he's not like, he doesn't have that big of a pool to work with in terms of potential
00:17:07 coaches who are going to work under him.
00:17:08 Because most of the guys who worked under him have either gone out of the league doing
00:17:12 stuff or already have successful jobs in other places and aren't going to leave those for
00:17:17 this.
00:17:18 And that's why it's kind of got to be like McDaniels and Patricia type of thing.
00:17:22 And like, you're not, I'll say it's not them and it's okay.
00:17:25 You can hire any offensive coordinator you want.
00:17:29 Maybe Zach Robinson comes there, but how many offensive coordinators are going to want a
00:17:33 job where, you know, it's a short gig, two or three years probably before he retires.
00:17:38 And you're Bill Belichick.
00:17:40 It's kind of an awkward position because you have worked now for over two decades with
00:17:44 guys who know what you like and what your style is, know your whole infrastructure and
00:17:49 guys you're comfortable with.
00:17:50 And now suddenly you're, you're going to learn new tricks and you're going to hire somebody
00:17:54 who's never worked with you before, who you have no relationship with and try to make
00:17:58 that work.
00:17:59 It's a lot to ask.
00:18:00 And that's a, it's not like some of the younger coaches where it's, Hey, yeah, we don't know
00:18:06 each other, but we're going to be here for four years together and we'll figure it out.
00:18:10 And we're both young and all that.
00:18:11 It's a very different mentality.
00:18:12 So it's an awkward position to be in for sure.
00:18:17 Yeah.
00:18:18 Yep.
00:18:19 So I know, and we know, we know that you're, that you hate Belichick.
00:18:23 I get it.
00:18:24 It's all right.
00:18:25 I know that here's the problem that I have.
00:18:28 The problem that I have is this.
00:18:30 I understand, right?
00:18:32 I understand that people belittle other people, right?
00:18:37 That they, that they talk about, okay, you know, so-and-so and I get it.
00:18:44 I understand, right?
00:18:45 You didn't like the guy, you didn't do this, you didn't do that.
00:18:47 Fine.
00:18:48 That's okay.
00:18:49 My issue is that, and the, the only real reason, look, here, here's the way you don't see the
00:18:53 truth.
00:18:54 It's okay.
00:18:55 But here, here's the big thing for me, right?
00:18:56 Here's the real issue for me.
00:18:59 I don't care about Bill Belichick.
00:19:01 I don't care.
00:19:02 It doesn't matter to me.
00:19:03 He could retire right now.
00:19:04 He's the GOAT, right?
00:19:05 I tweeted this out about, about Jimmy Stewart, James Stewart, whatever the hell his name
00:19:08 is, Jay Stewart, whatever you want to call him, earlier.
00:19:10 I don't care about Bill Belichick.
00:19:12 He's the GOAT, period.
00:19:14 Full stop.
00:19:15 Doesn't matter.
00:19:17 What I care about are morons that can't appreciate the fact that Belichick is the GOAT.
00:19:23 That's it.
00:19:24 He's the GOAT.
00:19:25 It's the way it is.
00:19:26 Because here's the thing, right?
00:19:27 And we can make the argument and you can talk about this and you talk about that.
00:19:30 Well, you know, this guy got there and this guy did this and this guy did that.
00:19:33 I'm sorry, dude.
00:19:34 0-1, 0-3, 0-4.
00:19:36 You cannot tell me that was Tom Brady.
00:19:38 You can't.
00:19:39 You cannot tell me that was Tom Brady.
00:19:40 And that's three right there.
00:19:41 Now give me another, give me another coach that's gotten three.
00:19:44 Andy Reid has two.
00:19:48 Could have a third.
00:19:49 Maybe.
00:19:50 He has Patrick Mahomes, right?
00:19:52 Who did Patrick Mahomes lose to?
00:19:54 Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.
00:19:56 Yeah.
00:19:57 Right?
00:19:58 So this is the type of stuff where Peyton Manning, one of the best quarterbacks of all
00:20:01 time, couldn't get by Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.
00:20:04 I'm sorry, did Peyton Manning play Tom Brady?
00:20:07 Was Tom Brady on the field when Peyton Manning was on the field?
00:20:09 Because I don't think he was.
00:20:10 I'm fairly certain at least that he wasn't.
00:20:12 You know who was on the field was the defense that was being controlled by Bill Belichick.
00:20:15 So those are the things.
00:20:17 That's the problem for me.
00:20:19 That's the problem that I have.
00:20:20 Right?
00:20:21 And people will talk about the modern era.
00:20:23 And Ed's right.
00:20:24 People talk about the modern era and he, you know, and he doesn't like this and he won't
00:20:28 change and he's resistant to this and he's resistant to that and so on and so forth.
00:20:31 But like the decision making that he's made and, and, you know, the coaching decisions,
00:20:38 the in-game adjustments.
00:20:41 I mean, the, the, the Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl, that's one of the greatest moves in
00:20:49 the history of the NFL.
00:20:51 In the history of the NFL.
00:20:54 Him not calling the timeout.
00:20:56 And Ed scouted and prepped too.
00:20:58 Right.
00:20:59 Which is like, like forget, talking about in-game decision making, forget that.
00:21:03 The scouting and the prep that he had his team ready for was ridiculous.
00:21:07 And that's, you know, there's, we could, we, one of the things that I was brought up when
00:21:11 you talk about, you know, Tom Brady, the goat, which some people have made the discussion
00:21:15 again.
00:21:16 And like I've said on here, I'm not entertaining that discussion.
00:21:17 But what people will say is, oh, wins aren't a quarterback stat.
00:21:20 Well, you know, wins are a head coach stat.
00:21:23 Wins are a general manager stat.
00:21:26 For 23 years, 24 seasons, whatever it was, Bill Belichick was the guy in charge of the
00:21:33 outcomes for New England Patriots football as a manager and a head coach.
00:21:37 And in that time, you know, they won a record number of Super Bowls and went to the AFC
00:21:43 championship games and he picked the rosters and coached the guys up and, you know, just
00:21:49 that run alone.
00:21:50 And that's not even talking about his time as a defensive coordinator or the things he
00:21:53 did before New England, where he also showed he was excellent.
00:21:56 Or some of the, you know, Hawak gets talked about with the Bill Belichick tree of like,
00:22:01 oh my God, everybody comes from the sky, stinks.
00:22:03 Take a look at front offices around the NFL.
00:22:07 Go pull up like the 2010 Patriots Wikipedia page and look at the front office and then
00:22:12 just notice how the link for every single one of those names is blue and you can click
00:22:16 on it.
00:22:17 And all those guys went elsewhere to have successful jobs.
00:22:19 His front office legacy is ridiculous.
00:22:21 Go back to his time in Cleveland.
00:22:23 It was on his staff.
00:22:24 Nick Steven, the greatest college football coach of all time.
00:22:27 Ozzie Newsome, who is now one of the, became one of the greatest general managers of all
00:22:31 time.
00:22:32 It's a fantastic legacy of personnel and coaches and front office guys coming from him, drafting
00:22:37 players to become exceptional coaches.
00:22:40 We've seen a lot now.
00:22:42 People talk about his tree a lot because he has a ton of coaches coming from his tree
00:22:46 because he's coached for a long time and people want the fruits of a tree that produces that
00:22:52 much fruit.
00:22:53 There's going to be a lot of bad apples when that happens, but he's the greatest ever
00:22:56 to do it.
00:22:57 He's got second most wins ever.
00:22:58 Six Super Bowls as a head coach, two more as a coordinator.
00:23:01 You're not, you're not.
00:23:02 Well, and let's, and let's be clear about this because I want to be clear about this
00:23:06 too, because I don't want to swing too far either way.
00:23:09 Right?
00:23:10 People need to understand Bill Belichick would not have six Super Bowls without Tom Brady.
00:23:16 Tom Brady would not have six Super Bowls of seven, but he would not have the six he got
00:23:21 with the Patriots.
00:23:22 And I believe he wouldn't have seven without Tom Brady.
00:23:26 And so we're not, we're going to check.
00:23:28 I'm sorry.
00:23:29 And so they're tied together, right?
00:23:31 He's a co-bro.
00:23:32 Bill Belichick's a coach.
00:23:34 He's an extremely good coach, but even the best coaches can't win with bad talent.
00:23:40 It just, it's not possible.
00:23:42 And he picked the talent, right?
00:23:44 Right.
00:23:45 And so correct.
00:23:46 And so here's the problem, right?
00:23:49 Here's the problem.
00:23:50 The issue that I have is that when you look at it, you look at this situation and you
00:23:56 say, okay, well he hasn't, he hasn't hit on his talent evaluation in the last seven years.
00:24:04 And that is undeniably true.
00:24:06 I think anyone that looks at what he's done with talent evaluation, a hundred percent,
00:24:11 that's totally true.
00:24:13 But again, that doesn't discount what he did for the 20 years before that.
00:24:17 Right.
00:24:18 And that's where, that's where I started to get frustrated is people just are, have that
00:24:22 recency bias and they think, well, he sucks because he doesn't win Superbowl without Tom Brady.
00:24:26 That's like, no, you need really good players, right?
00:24:29 When you lose Brady and you lose Gronk and you lose Edelman and you lose Amandola and
00:24:35 you lose like, you know, and go down the list and you lose Hightower and then you lose McCordy
00:24:39 and then you like, they lost all of their good players at once.
00:24:42 All of them left at once.
00:24:43 They all left.
00:24:44 Yeah.
00:24:45 And so of course you're left with nothing.
00:24:47 Well, and I think people focus way too much on the fact that they didn't replace those
00:24:51 guys fast enough and not enough on the fact that they had a similar exodus in the years,
00:24:55 you know, between 2004 and 2009, 2010, basically, of the early dynasty guys and the fact that
00:25:02 they were able to replace those guys and arguably have an even better run in the 2010s than
00:25:09 they did in the 2000s is wild.
00:25:11 The fact that you're able to go three and four years and a perfect season in the first
00:25:16 half of that and follow it up with, you know, the unanimous MVP performance in Brady that
00:25:22 they were able to put together in 2010 and a whole bunch of number one seeds in eight
00:25:28 straight, I believe it was eight straight AFC championship game appearances.
00:25:31 Pretty good.
00:25:33 Going four Super Bowls in five years and you win three of them.
00:25:38 All of that after you lost all of your leaders, except for Tom Brady from the early dynasty
00:25:43 is a remarkable feat.
00:25:45 We also talk about the drafting.
00:25:47 I know that like Bill hasn't been great recently, but there is this graphic put out.
00:25:51 I don't know if you saw it.
00:25:52 Arjun Menon.
00:25:53 I'm definitely not saying your name correctly.
00:25:55 I apologize about that.
00:25:57 Who's a fantastic follow on Twitter.
00:25:59 He's a data guy.
00:26:01 If anybody knows who the big data bull is, it's a whole convention thingy for football
00:26:06 people to create data projects to show different things.
00:26:10 That's what he participates in.
00:26:12 But he put together a graphic this week that was actually about Tom Telesco, the former
00:26:18 GM of the Chargers who just got hired by the Raiders to look at drafting history.
00:26:24 It was all teams drafting since 2013 based on the percentile outcome for each pick.
00:26:31 The Chargers with Tom Telesco were fourth from the bottom.
00:26:34 The New England Patriots, they're at the top.
00:26:38 The best drafting team since 2013.
00:26:42 That's with a lot of the bad drafts.
00:26:44 We'll forget how many really good drafts there were and how good they have been at hitting
00:26:48 late round picks in that span.
00:26:55 I think it's both true that Bill Belichick, his time was up in New England and it's fair
00:27:01 for teams to not hire him now.
00:27:03 But I think it's also that he's still been a very, very, very good GM and coach for the
00:27:07 last decade.
00:27:08 The whole modern NFL thing, I don't get that.
00:27:13 He was the modern NFL in '07 when he brought air raid principles to the NFL and saw a vision
00:27:19 for Wes Welker and made that happen.
00:27:21 He was the modern NFL creating the two tight end offense in 2010 and making that work for
00:27:27 three seasons that took the NFL by storm.
00:27:29 There's essentially an unstoppable offense there for three seasons.
00:27:34 He was the modern NFL in 2016 and 2017, the offense that they put together then.
00:27:40 And he was the modern NFL in 2018 when he stopped the revolutionary offense of the NFL
00:27:45 of the last decade, really, in the Super Bowl.
00:27:50 He knows how to coach in the modern NFL.
00:27:52 I think it's just sometimes guys get old and aren't the absolute greatest thing in the
00:27:58 world forever.
00:27:59 There's a shelf life on venues and he's run out of adjustments.
00:28:02 Yeah, and I think that's the thing for me.
00:28:05 That's what really pisses me off is when he doesn't get the credit he deserves.
00:28:09 Again, no one should be saying it was all Bill and no Brady.
00:28:12 No one should have been saying that from the beginning.
00:28:14 There were people at the beginning that were saying that.
00:28:16 And it's funny because the national narrative has changed so much.
00:28:20 The national narrative used to be Tom Brady's a system quarterback and he's only good because
00:28:25 of Bill Belichick and blah, blah, blah.
00:28:27 Then he leaves and wins his championship somewhere else.
00:28:30 And then all of a sudden, they still want to hate on the Patriots.
00:28:34 So, oh, Bill Belichick was never good and it was only always Tom Brady and blah, blah.
00:28:37 And so it's just funny how the narrative has changed.
00:28:40 And so it's like, well, we fought for Brady for years.
00:28:43 We fought for Brady, right?
00:28:45 And now everyone's like, yeah, no, Brady's the GOAT still.
00:28:48 Well, Mahomes is coming and Mahomes is the GOAT.
00:28:51 Oh, God, it drives me nuts.
00:28:53 But you're right, Matt.
00:28:55 I'm sorry.
00:28:56 But now it was just Brady and no Belichick.
00:28:59 And it's like, no, that's not right either.
00:29:01 It's both.
00:29:03 It has to be both.
00:29:04 That's the way it goes, right?
00:29:05 And it just drives me crazy.
00:29:07 And I heard Nick Wright talking about it.
00:29:09 Nick Wright.
00:29:10 I shouldn't listen to anything Nick Wright says.
00:29:11 But he's like, how come Tom Brady and Bill Belichick both get 100% of the credit and
00:29:16 then they're the greatest?
00:29:18 And it's like, what?
00:29:19 What are you even talking about?
00:29:21 Those are the things that don't make sense to me.
00:29:23 And it's like, especially if you want to make the Patrick Mahomes argument, Patrick Mahomes
00:29:28 is Andy Reid, who's probably the second best coach in the modern era.
00:29:33 So it's like, you know, so it's like you can't say, well, Brady had Belichick.
00:29:38 Well, he had Reid.
00:29:40 Like, what are we talking about here?
00:29:41 You know, he made four straight NFC championship games with Donovan McNabb, a quarterback.
00:29:46 So, like, he's pretty good.
00:29:48 Yeah.
00:29:49 I mean, the whole thing is so reductive, too, because we're talking about NFL organizations
00:29:54 with coaching staff with like 15 people, 20 people on them.
00:29:58 And front offices with another 15, 20 or whoever.
00:30:01 But you want to get a roster of 53 plus the practice squad and all the guys who come in
00:30:05 and out during the season.
00:30:06 So it's going to be way more than that number.
00:30:09 And all the staff behind that.
00:30:11 So, you know, if your argument is that if either Bill Belichick or Tom Brady had any
00:30:16 other successful people around them that invalidates your success, you just don't know the sport.
00:30:22 It's a team sport where the team is like 100 people large at the end of the day.
00:30:28 If you think that you're winning Super Bowls with only two of those people being good,
00:30:32 I don't know what you've been watching for the last couple of decades.
00:30:35 It takes a full effort from everybody.
00:30:37 So that invalidates it by saying he had good people around him.
00:30:41 And that's why, you know, Brady and Belichick are each 100%.
00:30:44 They did exactly what they were asked for a very long time and made it work.
00:30:48 You don't get the success you get without them and all of the other people who came in
00:30:52 and did what they did.
00:30:53 You can recognize the greatness of one without taking away from the greatness of any of the
00:31:00 other people who were involved in winning six Super Bowls in a however many year window that was.
00:31:05 Right. I agree. I agree.
00:31:07 And Gary will not kick anyone out as long as people are entitled to their opinion,
00:31:11 even if they're terrible, as long as they're not being rude, they're entitled to their opinion.
00:31:16 So anyway, so, so do you think because we're going to get into the into the rest of the
00:31:21 hirings around the NFL around the NFL this year, but do you think that Belichick will be a head coach in 2024?
00:31:31 Not in the NFL. Maybe he goes to college or something, but there's two jobs left.
00:31:36 Washington reportedly has already decided they don't want him.
00:31:41 And the only other option is Seattle. Seahawks just kind of pushed a successful coach out the front door, too,
00:31:46 because they thought he was too old and they're ready for something new.
00:31:51 You know, not getting rid of Pete Carroll for Bill Belichick of age is your concern.
00:31:55 So, you know, unless somebody else is younger.
00:31:59 I don't think any of these teams in the championship games are getting rid of their head coaches either.
00:32:05 So unless the bill will say, yeah, we're getting rid of Sean McDermott a week after the game so we can hire Bill Belichick.
00:32:12 I think this is it. I think this might be potentially a sad ending, getting pushed into retirement.
00:32:19 So I'm really I'm really interested.
00:32:25 In in kind of where it goes, I'm fascinated with kind of how it goes.
00:32:34 Right. And well, you know, what's interesting to me is that Adam Schefter was a Schefter Schefter or Rappaport reported that.
00:32:42 No, maybe it was. I don't know who it doesn't matter. Might even be for you.
00:32:45 I don't know. But that, you know, there were multiple teams that have looked into or have discussed the possibility of Bill Belichick being a head coach.
00:32:59 At least one of them. With a current head coach on there, maybe it was Florio and says at least one of those teams with a head coach still employed.
00:33:11 And so maybe it's a team like the Giants. That was a couple of weeks ago, right?
00:33:16 Or no, no. He reported that like yesterday, yesterday, two days ago.
00:33:20 He reported that. So I know, I know he's fan fiction, Florio, but it does it does seem I mean, it seems like a possibility at least.
00:33:31 What if you're a team that was sitting there saying, yeah, we'll hire Belichick.
00:33:35 And but you're thinking, well, he's going to go to Atlanta. Well, then Atlanta doesn't hire him.
00:33:40 And now you're sitting there saying, man, I mean, like if you're the Giants, like.
00:33:45 Now, the Giants, I mean, maybe probably aren't going to be good anyways, like in your tough division and you're kind of tied to Daniel Jones, but like.
00:33:52 You know, I'm curious to see where that goes now. Adam Schafter has talked about Andy Reed retiring and maybe him taking over there.
00:33:58 I don't see that happening. I guess it's possible. I don't see that happening, though.
00:34:03 I think it would be fascinating if he retired.
00:34:07 If they lose on Sunday and he retires.
00:34:10 And then that will check, that would be interesting. I don't know, but that, you know, it's one of the one.
00:34:16 It's like the Giants just don't make any sense for him, I don't think, because they're stuck with Daniel Jones for at least another season.
00:34:21 And it's Bill trying to do it all in like one or two seasons after that and going through a rebuilding year there.
00:34:27 The Kansas City makes sense in theory that be a team set up for a Super Bowl run, needing a head coach.
00:34:32 I think the issue there is they I think the coaching staff there has a good relationship with Mahomes and kind of building around that.
00:34:41 And I also think, you know, if you're the Chiefs and you're looking for a new head coach, if Eric Bien-Ami is interested, you know, you can bring him right back if you wanted.
00:34:51 As a head coach, a guy who's been in the building and knows what's going on.
00:34:55 So I don't I don't know. We'll we'll see what happens.
00:34:59 Next couple of weeks, the Chiefs in that scenario are the only other landing spot that would make sense.
00:35:04 I don't really see that happening. So I think I think this is it for Bill.
00:35:07 I think it's kind of sad to kind of get forced out of New England and everybody there.
00:35:13 You know, what is that? Two, three weeks ago was talking about, you know, we fully expect Bill to keep coaching and look forward to recognizing him once he's done with his coaching career.
00:35:23 And by the end of the month, his coaching career is done.
00:35:26 Yeah. I also I wouldn't put it past him to go to to go to TV for a year and then come back.
00:35:34 You know what I mean? I don't I don't know if he would do that.
00:35:37 But if he is your concern.
00:35:40 Well, of course, of course. But if you're a team that that, you know, sees him and hears him and you know, and he has that enthusiasm and talks about the game and understands it and so on and so forth, and you look at it and you're not happy with your coach and things don't work out.
00:35:55 You know, like see, like what I don't understand is what the hell is Dallas like Dallas is insane to me.
00:36:01 It's completely insane. And it's all because of Jerry Jones's ego.
00:36:04 Jerry doesn't want to give up control to Bill Belichick is really what it is.
00:36:08 Also, there's no explanation. You can't tell me that Mike McCarthy is a third of the coach of Bill Belichick.
00:36:16 Well, I think the issue there is that Jerry Jones for his despite his reputation has always been a pretty forgiving guy with his head coaches.
00:36:24 He will regularly let them play out contracts, even if there's questions about what they should do.
00:36:30 And, you know, there's a certain conservativeness in the decision making to Mike McCarthy is young enough.
00:36:37 The Cowboys had a good season this past season. Mike McCarthy genuinely did a good job for most of the season.
00:36:43 And, you know, if you're the Cowboys and Mike McCarthy goes somewhere else and brings that same success with him because you want to hire Bill Belichick and things then look in Dallas a lot like they looked in New England the last couple of years.
00:36:59 And you're an owner and you're like, wow, I just gave away what could be another decade of good coaching from McCarthy for three years of this.
00:37:05 Yeah, because the age of Belichick isn't necessarily that he's out of touch or, you know, they doesn't have his enthusiasm.
00:37:13 It's that he literally I don't think is going to be coaching for that many more years.
00:37:17 And I think most owners when they make a hire envision as this is a guy who will be here for the next decade.
00:37:23 If it goes right type of thing. And it's the tough sell. And this is the difference between Brady and Belichick.
00:37:28 Brady, you're getting guys as a football player and he's on the contract. And every time he signs a contract, it's you're expecting him for that many years.
00:37:34 And you see one year deals. You see seven year deals. Coaches, you hire them. You expect that this guy's here as long as it goes well.
00:37:41 And it's going to be for a decade. Hopefully it's very rare. You hire a coach with the expectation that this guy is going to be here for two years.
00:37:48 So it's just not a dynamic that really exists as much. And owners are owners have a hard time buying into that than a GM does.
00:37:57 And we're going to get this player for two years.
00:37:59 Yeah. No, you're not wrong about that. I just it is interesting to me when you look at like what's going to how's it going to transpire?
00:38:08 I guess that's that's kind of the way I look at it. And I I don't know. I still think, man, if you're going for broke, I get it.
00:38:18 I understand Mike McCarthy is in theory a good coach, but like you're trying to win a freaking championship.
00:38:26 I mean, you have to understand now you have to understand now the Dallas Cowboys last played in the NFC Championship Game in 1991.
00:38:33 Nineteen ninety one. So why is that the first year as a head coach?
00:38:38 He was a Gleifner. I believe so. Yeah, I think I think ninety one. That sounds right.
00:38:43 Because ninety four, he won in the playoffs against the Patriots. Patriots.
00:38:48 Yeah, I think it was ninety one was his first year. It's just like. The cowboy. I mean, it's it's embarrassing.
00:38:54 The Cowboys suck in the playoffs every single year, every year. And again, it's been like that for, you know, 30 years.
00:39:03 And so, you know, for me, if I'm if I'm Jerry Jones and I'm talking about actually winning.
00:39:10 I'm putting my money where my mouth isn't saying, all right, let's go, Bill, let's go, let's go win a damn championship.
00:39:17 And you know what? If we if we go to three years, I want a championship that sucks. And we made a mistake.
00:39:24 But, you know, we did everything we could to get there. And I, I just don't think Jerry has enough to do that.
00:39:29 Well, the interesting thing here is that Mike McCarthy has one year left on his contract.
00:39:33 But Bill does say I'm going to go do TV for a year. Yeah, maybe after that year.
00:39:37 That is, I think, the only spot I look at and say, hey, this doesn't work out.
00:39:40 But I think does Dak only have one year left on his deal? I think CD only has one year left on his deal.
00:39:45 Those guys are coming. Yeah, which I mean, that's another thing.
00:39:49 Dak for as good of a quarterback as he's been. And he's an MVP finalist this year.
00:39:56 He's a really good quarterback all season long, coming up small in the playoffs.
00:40:00 And he's getting older now. And how much money do you want to give him?
00:40:03 He's going to be commanding a lot of money because he's a good quarterback.
00:40:06 But the side note here, you know, Patriots don't draft quarterback this year or wait until the second round or third round or whatever.
00:40:15 They don't they kind of take a year off investing in the position and build around the team.
00:40:19 You go to free agency next year and Dak Prescott is available.
00:40:23 That's a quick way to upgrade that position.
00:40:26 And, you know, Dak Prescott, Marvin Harrison Jr. and fixing the tackle situation in 2025 doesn't sound so bad to me.
00:40:33 Right. And you're not wrong about that. And so we'll see that.
00:40:37 That brings us to a whole nother conversation. We got to talk about that.
00:40:40 But anyway, should we do a break and then come back and do a break?
00:40:44 We'll talk about the coaching guys around the league and kind of how it pertains to the Patriots.
00:40:49 I think that we talked about the Raheem Morris thing and how, you know, Zach, Zach Robinson seems that he's not a shoe in necessarily,
00:40:56 but seems like he's going to go Raheem Morris to Atlanta instead of coming to New England,
00:41:01 which is kind of everyone's preferred preference. But, you know, it is what it is.
00:41:07 So let's take a break. We'll come back and we'll we'll just we'll kind of go run the league maybe a little quickly.
00:41:12 Go on again and we'll we'll talk a little bit of Patriots before we get out of here, because it is a Patriots podcast.
00:41:17 So we'll talk a little bit. Yes. The NFL regular season is wrapping up, but there's still time to get in on the action with FanDuel,

00:42:45 All right, so so let's get around to the NFL. You want to start. I know where you want to start. You want to start in L.A.
00:42:51 Yes, let's do it. Let's do it. Yeah. Chargers Chargers bringing in Jim Harbaugh there, which I think was honestly the perfect hire for them.
00:43:02 You know, the team that's got the quarterback, but that needs a culture reset.
00:43:06 How many years now? We talk about the Cowboys. How many years now?
00:43:09 The Chargers kind of been a joke for the fact that they'll have to help and can't do anything with it.
00:43:13 And they're routinely not a tough team, not a physical team.
00:43:17 And they get gashed in the running game and see the injuries.
00:43:21 But they've been a joke now for years on that front. Now you got a guy who preaches toughness, a fantastic leader of men, a great quarterback coach coming in there.
00:43:31 I think this is what they needed. Yeah. Yeah.
00:43:34 You know, as much as I necessarily didn't want him here, he is.
00:43:41 It's hard to deny that he's a very, very good coach.
00:43:44 He's going to rub people the wrong way. It's you know, it's going to be an issue at times.
00:43:49 He has a big ego. He's got a bunch of stuff going on, but he's a great coach.
00:43:54 And, you know, we don't just in her, but it's a very, very good quarterback.
00:44:00 I think I'm starting to question how good he is.
00:44:05 Just based on what we've seen. And so, you know, now maybe I think if anyone can get it out of him, it's it's Jim.
00:44:13 And so that's really that's for me. That's the interesting part.
00:44:18 So if Jim can't get out of him, I think then you start to realize, like, well, maybe he's not the guy that we thought he was after all.
00:44:26 Well, I also think that you bring in it sounds like Jim Harwell is kind of getting a pick the GM there.
00:44:32 And that's that was his issue in San Francisco. He and the GM got into a power struggle and didn't get along.
00:44:36 And that shouldn't be the case now. It's going to be his guy.
00:44:39 He is the leader of the organization there, which will help. And I think the biggest issue with Herbert there has been every game they play is that you have a quarterback.
00:44:49 You can throw the ball 70 yards, but you play every game in like a 20 yard window because nobody can stretch the field for you.
00:44:55 And Harwell is going to help with that. As a Michigan fan, he's watched a lot of their games.
00:45:00 He's been really good at drawing up play action concepts to attack down the field.
00:45:04 Michigan has not had good receivers. They've had fine guys, but they're all day three picks in the NFL draft.
00:45:11 And, you know, I made J.J. McCarthy, you know, look decent at times.
00:45:14 But with Justin Herbert, who is a superhuman back there in terms of throwing ability and ability to process defenses at times,
00:45:23 I think you throw in some of the simpler concepts where you can just let it rip and attack downfield.
00:45:29 So I'm going to take the offensive line that can push in the running game. I think it's going to work for him.
00:45:34 I think what I'm intrigued to see there is how a personality like Jim Harbaugh's works with like Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack and Derwin James and some of the established leaders defensively.
00:45:43 That is going to be interesting. But I think that was for what the Chargers need.
00:45:48 I think this was the right hire from a culture perspective.
00:45:53 I agree. I agree. And again, you talk about talk about a loser franchise, right? I mean, that's a loser franchise.
00:46:00 And so to get a guy that is just coming off winning a national championship that took San Fran to a Super Bowl, you know, what, I guess, 12 years ago now at this point.
00:46:10 But but still, you know, a guy that's shown that he can win in college and can win in the pros.
00:46:14 I think that, you know, that makes a that makes a ton of sense.
00:46:18 And it may not they may not win a championship. It may not work out. You know, amazingly, they do have, you know, they're way over the cap right now.
00:46:29 They're going to have to cut a bunch of old players. To me, it's a complete teardown almost, except for Herbert and some of those guys in on the defense.
00:46:38 But, you know, a couple of offensive linemen, Zion Johnson and a few of the guys on the offensive line.
00:46:44 But like, but you're you're basically redoing that whole team.
00:46:48 And Harbaugh has a chance to kind of make it his own with already with potentially the elite quarterback.
00:46:54 And I think that that's kind of that's what he wanted. And I think it's a perfect setup for him.
00:46:58 So we'll see how it goes. But, you know, I'm interested. I'm interested in seeing how that works out.
00:47:04 But I think it's a great hire. I really think it was a great hire by them. It made a ton of sense.
00:47:08 And it made a ton of sense for the offense. Yep. Yeah, that that I think it was there or Atlanta.
00:47:14 But it made sense to me if you're Jim Harbaugh and it's good to play the brother next year to which will be interesting.
00:47:20 He'll come to the stadium. You know, Pat's Chargers are going to see each other.
00:47:24 And I think there's a non-zero chance that's an early season game to just like based on how we've seen the schedule play out at times.
00:47:32 That might be an early game for New England. I'm curious to see, you know, what the next next moves end up being out there.
00:47:40 Or while we're on the West Coast, should we talk Raiders and what they're doing there?
00:47:44 Let's do it. Let's do it. That's Antonio Pierce. Yeah.
00:47:49 I love Antonio Pierce as the hire for the Raiders with how much the guys love him.
00:47:54 I hate the Tom Telesco hire and GM of the Raiders.
00:47:58 Yeah, because we just talked about the position the Chargers are in and he's the GM who got the Chargers into that position and their division rival looked at that and said, yes, please.
00:48:06 I'll take that. Makes no sense to me. It makes no sense to me.
00:48:10 And I just don't I don't know what they were. I just don't know what they were doing.
00:48:15 And I know Tom Telesco has, like, you know, I guess a reputation or whatever, but like, I don't know, does he?
00:48:21 He also went out and signed J.C. Jackson, who was terrible for him.
00:48:25 And, you know, he was in defense. That's what I mean.
00:48:29 Like, that's the hard thing for me is like, it's not just the fact that like fine.
00:48:33 J.C. Jackson struggled a little bit because he can't play in that scheme.
00:48:36 How do you not know that he's not a scheme fit for your defense?
00:48:40 That's insane to me. So that that one to me, you know, I don't I don't understand.
00:48:46 I don't I don't get it. And so we'll see how it goes.
00:48:50 But they don't have a ton of talent on that team either. And so they have, I think, a long way to go.
00:48:56 We'll see if AOC is the guy there. But I think for right now you have to roll with them and then just kind of see what you got next year, I guess.
00:49:04 Right. And then if he sucks, then you get a top draft pick.
00:49:07 And if he and if he, you know, plays well, which we saw him do at times last year, I think that that makes sense.
00:49:14 But I don't know. Yeah, it's yeah, it's Max Crosby and a whole bunch of a whole bunch of guys.
00:49:21 And those two, two like superstar freak level players are then the rest of those rosters is just like regular NFL players and nothing special about them.
00:49:31 So, yeah, it's a two year, three year rebuild for the Raiders.
00:49:36 And the one thing Tom's still gets a ton of credit for is drafting Justin Herbert.
00:49:40 And I don't know how much credit you get for a pick like that, but people give it to him.
00:49:44 And if he's good at drafting quarterbacks, that's what the Raiders need.
00:49:47 So that's, I guess, the upside. I guess that's the appeal. But yeah.
00:49:52 Yeah, which is true. And then look, I mean, that's he does he does deserve credit for that, you know, because it is one of those things that like, hey, at the end of the day.
00:50:06 Right, he did draft the right guy. Now, the thing is, right, and this is kind of it.
00:50:12 This is similar. It's not the same, of course, but this is similar to the CJ Stroud, Bryce Young to me, right?
00:50:20 The Texans get a ton of credit for drafting CJ Stroud, of course. Rightfully so.
00:50:26 If they're the number one pick, do they take Bryce Young into CJ Stroud? No, I don't know the answer to that question.
00:50:31 They, of course, will tell you, no, they would have taken CJ Stroud. Obviously, they're going to say that.
00:50:36 But would they have taken him? I don't know. Would Tom Zalesko have taken Tua instead of Justin Herbert?
00:50:43 We don't know the answer to that question because Herbert went six and Tua went five.
00:50:46 It's possible if LA is at five, they take Tua instead of Herbert. I don't know the answer to that question. Right.
00:50:53 But nevertheless, it doesn't matter because the pick was made and it is what it is.
00:50:59 If they give him credit for it, that's fine. But it's not as though I deciphered the guys and I went through and I drafted this guy.
00:51:06 And the other guy was higher up than him, but he's paid off. It's not. You didn't draft circles around people.
00:51:12 Right. You like you found the guy that was there and you took him. That's fine.
00:51:17 There's no other quarterbacks that were anywhere near them. Right.
00:51:21 Jordan Love was the next guy, which was pretty good right now. But nevertheless, like Jordan Love was the next guy taken.
00:51:27 And he got taken at what, 26 or 20, 20 picks later. Right. So.
00:51:31 And so that's the thing for me. So I look at it and just say, OK, you know, he deserves the credit.
00:51:36 But let's not talk about it like he was like, oh, we were up. We weren't sure.
00:51:41 No one really knew. And then he took the guy. You know what I mean?
00:51:45 Yeah, I agree. Should we. What are the coaching hires do we have on the docket?
00:51:51 We have we can go down to Tennessee hasn't hired anyone yet. Tennessee hired him, right?
00:51:57 Yeah. Yeah. So it's an ad the offensive coordinator. Yeah, that's I don't know how I feel about it.
00:52:02 I mean, he's good. He's good. And I think I think what he gets credit for this year so much is the fact that, you know,
00:52:10 Barrow goes down and that offense, although it doesn't stay quite as good as it was,
00:52:16 but with a rookie undrafted quarterback looks pretty good. Right. Not amazing, but pretty good.
00:52:23 The fact that he was able to coach him up that well and have him playing that well, I think that that says a lot about it.
00:52:31 And so that to me, I look at that and say, OK, you know. I, I, I get it.
00:52:40 I don't know how much I love the hire, but I understand where they're coming from.
00:52:44 It's an out of the box hire, which, again, a lot of this is going to come down to how much faith you have in that Titans front office.
00:52:53 But I mean, watch what the offense have become. And there's not a ton of talent there.
00:52:57 But it did also feel stale at that point. They might be saying, hey, we need to refresh with our offensive identity.
00:53:02 So it's hard to judge because it is out of the box. It's not unconventional, but it's not really one that I didn't seem like they were in on the hot commodities.
00:53:11 And so I think that's a big part of it. And I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:53:16 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:53:18 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:53:20 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:53:22 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:53:25 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:53:27 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:53:29 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:53:31 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:53:33 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:53:35 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:53:42 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:53:44 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:53:46 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:53:48 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:53:50 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:53:52 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:53:54 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:53:56 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:53:58 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:00 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:02 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:04 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:06 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:08 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:10 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:12 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:14 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:16 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:18 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:20 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:22 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:24 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:26 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:28 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:30 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:32 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:34 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:36 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:38 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:40 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:42 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:44 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:46 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:48 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:50 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:52 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:54 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:56 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:54:58 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:55:00 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:55:02 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:55:04 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:55:06 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:55:08 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:55:10 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:55:12 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:55:14 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:55:16 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:55:18 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:55:20 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:55:22 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:55:24 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:55:26 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:55:28 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:55:30 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:55:32 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:55:34 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:55:36 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.
00:55:38 I think that's a big part of the reason why I'm here.

01:12:42 So, here's the land on their feet.
01:12:44 So, here's the land on their feet.
01:12:46 So, here's the land on their feet.
01:12:48 So, here's the land on their feet.
01:12:50 So, here's the land on their feet.
01:12:52 So, here's the land on their feet.
01:12:54 So, here's the land on their feet.
01:12:56 So, here's the land on their feet.

01:13:02 So, here's the land on their feet.
01:13:04 So, here's the land on their feet.
01:13:06 So, here's the land on their feet.
01:13:08 So, here's the land on their feet.
01:13:10 So, here's the land on their feet.

01:13:26 So, here's the land on their feet.
01:13:28 So, here's the land on their feet.
01:13:30 So, here's the land on their feet.
01:13:32 And so, I almost look at Shane Waldron
01:13:34 And I wonder, okay, Shane Waldron
01:13:36 gets hired.
01:13:38 What did he just do?
01:13:40 He just, in Seattle, resurrected
01:13:42 Geno Smith's career.
01:13:44 Could he come to Chicago and do the same thing with Justin Fields?
01:13:46 Not that Justin Fields has to have his career
01:13:48 resurrected, but could he get Justin Fields
01:13:50 on the path that Geno Smith
01:13:52 is on?
01:13:54 I wonder if that's where it's headed.
01:13:56 Well, I think he's very much
01:13:58 stylistically a guy who works with
01:14:00 any of the three names.
01:14:02 Justin Fields, Caleb Williams, or Drake May.
01:14:04 If that's a guy who
01:14:06 they end up getting into this conversation here
01:14:08 for Chicago.
01:14:10 You've got the rehabbing and older quarterback
01:14:12 there and Geno Smith making that work.
01:14:14 It's an offense in Seattle
01:14:16 that has been predicated on a lot of
01:14:18 big plays and deep shots.
01:14:20 Drake May and Caleb Williams,
01:14:22 that's both huge areas of their game
01:14:24 where you can take advantage of that
01:14:26 with a young coach.
01:14:28 I don't think the Bears
01:14:30 are tipping their hand here at all as to which
01:14:32 direction they're going to go with quarterback.
01:14:34 I still do expect it to be...
01:14:36 I don't know if the Bears take Caleb
01:14:38 Williams, but I do think Caleb Williams goes
01:14:40 with the number one overall pick.
01:14:42 It's not the Bears, it's somebody moving up.
01:14:44 It's a weird situation there
01:14:50 in Chicago. Weird vibes all around.
01:14:52 It feels like they're probably going to mess up the pick again.
01:14:54 Kind of feels that way, doesn't it?
01:14:56 Kind of feels that way.
01:14:58 We'll see. I'm interested to kind of see
01:15:00 where that goes.
01:15:02 Nevertheless...
01:15:04 They have to pay Justin soon.
01:15:06 I think they have to decide on
01:15:08 the fifth year option now.
01:15:10 I think it's like March 1st
01:15:12 or something like that. It's early.
01:15:14 Before the new league year.
01:15:16 And if they don't,
01:15:18 he would be up after the season.
01:15:20 If they like Justin Fields,
01:15:22 the Jordan Love deal probably works.
01:15:24 You could add an extra year, but at a cheaper
01:15:26 amount.
01:15:28 Has he proven that?
01:15:30 I don't know why he would do that
01:15:32 to Chicago.
01:15:34 Yeah, that's a good point.
01:15:36 If Dad says that the Bears should have Marvin Harrison Jr.
01:15:38 and Brock Bowers, that would be insane.
01:15:40 But of course that means you're keeping
01:15:42 Justin Fields. Which I don't think is the worst
01:15:44 idea. Imagine DJ Moore, Marvin Harrison
01:15:46 and Brock Bowers with Fields as
01:15:48 your quarterback. That's pretty solid.
01:15:50 Did you watch the
01:15:52 JT O'Sullivan breakdown on
01:15:54 Justin Fields?
01:15:56 No, I'm sure I didn't.
01:15:58 I didn't watch the whole thing. It was from their week 18
01:16:00 game. Very early on
01:16:02 JT O'Sullivan had to say, "Hey, cover your
01:16:04 earmuffs on this one. Don't let the kids in the room."
01:16:06 Because he was letting it fly.
01:16:08 Just cursing out Justin Fields
01:16:10 for some of his decisions.
01:16:12 Basically like day one stuff
01:16:14 that he was getting wrong.
01:16:16 If it were
01:16:18 Justin Fields as a rookie versus some of these
01:16:20 other guys, it's a decision.
01:16:22 But when you've got a whole brand new
01:16:24 contract with five years on it versus
01:16:26 one year or two years for Fields,
01:16:28 you just reset the clock
01:16:30 here.
01:16:32 Even if you like Fields,
01:16:34 he is a prospect
01:16:36 now. If Caleb Williams
01:16:38 played as well as
01:16:40 I think you'd expect Caleb Williams
01:16:42 to play as well this year as Justin Fields.
01:16:44 Kind of at a minimum with what you're getting out of him.
01:16:46 You'd certainly hope so.
01:16:48 I don't know if he will, but you'd certainly hope so.
01:16:50 We'll see. I don't know.
01:16:52 There's a lot of question marks.
01:16:54 As I said in my
01:16:56 article on Pat's Bowl, but I think that the Patriots
01:16:58 draft starts with Chicago.
01:17:00 I think that the Patriots are at three.
01:17:02 You have an interesting decision
01:17:04 you can make.
01:17:06 If
01:17:08 you can't stay at three,
01:17:10 do you draft Marvin Harrison Jr.
01:17:12 at three?
01:17:14 Do you
01:17:16 trade back
01:17:18 and pick up a first-round pick next year?
01:17:20 And something else.
01:17:22 Something like to
01:17:24 Atlanta. Let's just say Atlanta
01:17:26 falls in love with Marvin Harrison Jr.
01:17:28 They're going to give you 843
01:17:30 in their first-round pick next year. I don't know
01:17:32 if they're going to do that or not, but they could.
01:17:34 Now you move back to eight.
01:17:36 You picked up another top 50 pick
01:17:38 and you pick up
01:17:40 an extra first-rounder next year.
01:17:42 You draft one of the offensive
01:17:44 tackles or one of the other wide receivers
01:17:46 at eight. Then you have
01:17:48 two early second-round picks. You can either
01:17:50 package them both up and move up
01:17:52 for
01:17:54 whomever or whatever.
01:17:56 You trade
01:17:58 your third-round pick for
01:18:00 fields. Your third this year.
01:18:02 Maybe it's your third this year and a third
01:18:04 next year or whatever.
01:18:06 You make that
01:18:08 move for fields. Now you have a quarterback
01:18:10 that you feel like, "Okay, we're good
01:18:12 at least for now." I don't know
01:18:14 if he's the guy forever, but we're good for now.
01:18:16 Then we
01:18:18 see where it goes. We build up the offense
01:18:20 around him and we kind of do it that way.
01:18:22 I don't know if I love it,
01:18:24 but it may not
01:18:26 be a terrible alternative
01:18:28 to drafting
01:18:30 the third-best quarterback at number three.
01:18:32 I just don't know if I love that.
01:18:34 Yeah.
01:18:36 We're going to see how
01:18:38 this goes. I just have the opinion that
01:18:40 if there's a quarterback on the board who you think
01:18:42 can be a franchise guy and you're skeptical
01:18:44 about the guy you have right now being a
01:18:46 franchise guy, you go take the guy who you think
01:18:48 could be a franchise guy.
01:18:50 I think you should be very aggressive
01:18:52 in the quarterback position.
01:18:54 That's kind of my feel for it.
01:18:56 We'll see
01:18:58 what they
01:19:00 actually end up doing, but I think Chicago would
01:19:02 be silly not to take Caleb Williams and
01:19:04 just do the simple thing.
01:19:06 Yeah, I agree.
01:19:08 I know
01:19:10 we have our segments at the end. I have
01:19:12 one more word I want to get in before we get there.
01:19:14 Let's do it.
01:19:16 Did you see what the Patriots
01:19:18 posted on Twitter yesterday,
01:19:20 Wednesday?
01:19:22 You talking about the...
01:19:24 The 0-3 team.
01:19:26 The unrecoached 0-3 team.
01:19:28 I'm going to give
01:19:30 one pass here.
01:19:32 I'm going to give one pass here because I think
01:19:34 there's a couple possibilities. I think it's possible
01:19:36 that this... For the context,
01:19:38 Patriots posted a video of highlights of the
01:19:40 0-3 team announcing a podcast
01:19:42 talking about the 0-3 team
01:19:44 without a single clip of Bill Belichick anywhere
01:19:46 in it, which was very notable
01:19:48 in a two-minute long video. They don't have a single shot
01:19:50 of the head coach.
01:19:52 If this was put together by
01:19:54 the social team after seeing the amount
01:19:56 of hate Bill Belichick has gotten from Patriots
01:19:58 fans over the last two, three, four seasons
01:20:00 at times because they said, "He's not
01:20:02 our coach anymore. We're going to try to distance him."
01:20:04 And they didn't realize how this was
01:20:06 going to be perceived by people. They got
01:20:08 a pass on that front.
01:20:10 If it was put together by the front office, or
01:20:12 they had saying this, and their feeling
01:20:14 was, "Hey, he's not our coach anymore.
01:20:16 As of right now, he's taking interviews for other
01:20:18 teams. We love him, but we're not
01:20:20 going to put him in our hype videos as long as he's
01:20:22 coaching other teams," I'll give you a one
01:20:24 video pass for that. Maybe you
01:20:26 didn't realize how this was
01:20:28 going to be taken.
01:20:30 As a fan watching that
01:20:32 of this team after what we saw two weeks
01:20:34 ago in that press conference,
01:20:36 it felt a lot like
01:20:38 the ownership
01:20:40 distancing them. If you've noticed on social
01:20:42 media, there have been a lot of positive posts
01:20:44 about Robert Kraft and how cool he is
01:20:46 in the last two weeks,
01:20:48 which again, could be an organizational
01:20:50 reset. He's the figurehead
01:20:52 right now. He's the longest tenured guy
01:20:54 with the team, and it makes sense to
01:20:56 present to him.
01:20:58 Yeah, it is
01:21:00 his team, but
01:21:02 with the Wickersham
01:21:04 article or articles that have
01:21:06 come out over the last decade, it
01:21:08 does make you question things about
01:21:10 what the incentives
01:21:12 are of the people involved in
01:21:14 this.
01:21:16 You cannot tell the story of the franchise
01:21:18 of the New England Patriots without Bill Belichick
01:21:20 as not just in it, as the main
01:21:22 character in that story.
01:21:24 I would not care
01:21:26 if he's coaching for another team.
01:21:28 Show him in that.
01:21:30 I haven't gone
01:21:32 back and checked 2020 to see
01:21:34 if they stopped posting highlight videos and clips
01:21:36 of Tom Brady in them, but I doubt it.
01:21:38 I doubt they ignored
01:21:40 that entire era. Let's not do that
01:21:42 with Bill. Even if he goes and coaches elsewhere,
01:21:44 that's our guy, and don't
01:21:46 remove him. If you want to
01:21:48 show him less, you can show him less right now
01:21:50 if he's coaching for another team. That's fine.
01:21:52 Don't entirely remove him from the video.
01:21:54 That is so obvious
01:21:56 and makes me have
01:21:58 some trust issues with the decision makers.
01:22:00 I agree with you. It's a good point.
01:22:02 By the way, someone had mentioned
01:22:04 earlier they wanted us
01:22:06 to talk to the Celtics. I don't
01:22:08 necessarily want to talk about the Celtics, but
01:22:10 I will give you one stat.
01:22:12 If you want to talk about how insane the Celtics were
01:22:14 tonight,
01:22:16 and it's one stat that comes courtesy of Taylor Snow,
01:22:18 Jason Tatum
01:22:20 and Jalen Brown just put on one of the
01:22:22 best tandem two-way
01:22:24 efforts in NBA history.
01:22:26 They're the
01:22:28 first teammates in NBA history to log
01:22:30 30-plus points, two-plus
01:22:32 blocks, and zero
01:22:34 turnovers in the same game.
01:22:36 That is outrageous.
01:22:38 I mean,
01:22:40 talk about, you know, and they won
01:22:42 by, what, 30-some-odd points against
01:22:44 Miami. They won by 33
01:22:46 against Miami.
01:22:48 Let's see, Tatum...
01:22:50 Wait, 30...
01:22:52 No, that's not right.
01:22:54 Maybe that was an old... That must have been an old stat
01:22:56 because that wasn't from tonight.
01:22:58 That might have been from the game
01:23:00 before. Maybe it was the game
01:23:02 before. Someone sent me
01:23:04 that stat because we were talking about how crazy
01:23:06 the game was, and I was like, I hadn't been on Twitter,
01:23:08 and so I was like, "Oh, wow, look at that."
01:23:10 "Nope, thanks a lot,
01:23:12 jerk."
01:23:14 But,
01:23:16 you know, Tatum... I mean, you look
01:23:18 at the scoring, I will say
01:23:20 the other stat, I think, was from,
01:23:22 which was, I think, from tonight,
01:23:24 was about
01:23:26 how many shots they hit.
01:23:30 Right? And I looked at it, they showed
01:23:32 something about... They were the first team,
01:23:34 were the first team,
01:23:36 you know, the first team in history
01:23:40 to have five players
01:23:42 make 3+3's and 3+2 pointers
01:23:44 in the same game.
01:23:46 Oh, that's sick. Yeah. It's nice to do it in Miami
01:23:48 because that place has been a house of horrors.
01:23:50 But, honestly, not even
01:23:52 that building. It's just been plain Miami.
01:23:54 We've actually done kind of well there at points.
01:23:56 Right. That's true.
01:23:58 Yeah.
01:24:00 For as many issues as there are with the Patriots
01:24:02 right now, and as many issues as there are
01:24:04 with the Red Sox right now,
01:24:06 it's nice that the Celtics are the Celtics
01:24:08 and look dominant.
01:24:10 I mean, you know, obviously
01:24:12 assuming guys stay healthy
01:24:14 once we're looking at poor Zingos
01:24:16 with an injury tonight, so let's make sure that's all right there.
01:24:18 Right. You're kind of just waiting for the
01:24:20 postseason to start now and waiting ahead because you're making it
01:24:22 and you're going to be the best team
01:24:24 in the East there. You know, even if you're not
01:24:26 the number one seed, everybody digs it, and I know that's the best
01:24:28 team. Even if they
01:24:30 fall off a little bit and it's just, "All right, make it
01:24:32 through. Get back to the finals." And the expectations
01:24:34 for this group are championship. That's where we are.
01:24:36 And that's what they should be.
01:24:38 This is not the best team.
01:24:40 We're top three team in the sport this year.
01:24:42 They should be in the finals and they should be
01:24:44 competitive if not win again.
01:24:46 And the Bruins, you know,
01:24:48 you lose Crecce and Bergeron
01:24:50 and Taylor Hall
01:24:52 and Nick Fulvino and a whole bunch
01:24:54 of guys. And
01:24:56 top of the East should be able to
01:24:58 win tonight in Ottawa.
01:25:00 So that's nice.
01:25:02 The winter sports
01:25:04 are keeping us through here.
01:25:06 Sure are. They sure are.
01:25:08 So we should make for an exciting
01:25:10 early summer. We'll see
01:25:12 what happens in the later
01:25:14 parts of the summer, but the early summer at least
01:25:16 should be entertaining.
01:25:18 We all
01:25:20 know the feeling of
01:25:22 that first Sunday
01:25:24 in October, the last Sunday
01:25:26 in September, when you get
01:25:28 that cool breeze come in while you're watching
01:25:30 the Patriots game. I have a very
01:25:32 similar relationship with
01:25:34 when the first warm breezes start coming in
01:25:36 in the spring and you're watching hockey and it's
01:25:38 the end of the regular season and the intensity is
01:25:40 ramping up. And I'm looking forward to
01:25:42 that. You know, I got the draft and
01:25:44 all the Patriots stuff, but it's going to be
01:25:46 nice. You know, I love the
01:25:48 Patriots. I'm excited to talk about what's going to happen
01:25:50 the next couple of months. It's going to be toxic
01:25:52 by the end of April.
01:25:54 It's going to be good to have some successful teams to watch
01:25:56 to step away from that. I feel like the Patriots fans
01:25:58 are back now. We're going to be at each other's
01:26:00 throats by then talking about what they should do in the
01:26:02 draft. That's quite true. And TJ,
01:26:04 TJ does make a good point that
01:26:06 a lot of the people in here that are watching
01:26:08 are not necessarily Boston
01:26:10 sports fans. They're Patriot sports fans.
01:26:12 But
01:26:14 not Boston sports fans. And so I get
01:26:16 that. I do understand that.
01:26:18 Yeah, drop that in the chat
01:26:20 who your other teams are.
01:26:22 But unfortunately,
01:26:24 you're going to have to listen to it because I'm not
01:26:26 going to sit here and talk about Philly
01:26:28 unless, you know, they're losing.
01:26:30 So, you know.
01:26:32 But nevertheless. All right.
01:26:34 So let's get into our final few segments
01:26:36 here. We're running long, surprisingly.
01:26:38 And so let's get
01:26:40 into our final few segments. As
01:26:42 always,
01:26:44 let's do the predictions.
01:26:46 So last week we talked about it already
01:26:48 on
01:26:50 Monday? No, Sunday.
01:26:52 I went one and three.
01:26:54 You went three and one.
01:26:56 I just had a terrible week.
01:26:58 Whatever. That's to be expected at this point.
01:27:00 And so you were looking at the lines.
01:27:02 I think we both know
01:27:04 who we're picking anyways, no matter what.
01:27:06 Yeah.
01:27:08 Oh, and Skinny Pete says that he's
01:27:10 a San Antonio
01:27:12 Spurs fan. And that's awfully nice.
01:27:14 He is so much fun to watch.
01:27:16 The wacky, inflatable, arm-flailing
01:27:18 tube man at center.
01:27:20 So much fun to watch.
01:27:22 Our lines for
01:27:24 Sunday. Should we start
01:27:26 in the AFC?
01:27:28 In Baltimore for the first
01:27:30 time since the Colts hosted it
01:27:32 back in the day.
01:27:34 Ravens, Chiefs, Ravens favored
01:27:36 by three and a half points.
01:27:38 Who are you taking, Pat?
01:27:40 I'm doing it. Ravens minus three and a half.
01:27:46 I just, you know,
01:27:48 I should bet the Chiefs because I want the Ravens to win.
01:27:50 I wonder if... I'm interested.
01:27:52 I wonder
01:27:54 if I can do that. Like, I want
01:27:56 the Ravens, and I think that the Ravens
01:27:58 and the Niners
01:28:00 are going to win. Like, maybe I bet
01:28:02 the Chiefs...
01:28:04 I really want the Lions to win. But maybe I bet
01:28:06 the Chiefs and the Niners.
01:28:08 And then, maybe then,
01:28:10 the Ravens and the Lions will win, and I'll get the
01:28:12 actual matchup that I want.
01:28:14 I don't know. But that's what I'm thinking.
01:28:16 I just want... We already
01:28:18 saw the Lions play both of these teams in the
01:28:20 regular season.
01:28:22 The Ravens killed them in that Chiefs-Lions
01:28:24 game. It could be fun to get a rematch of that,
01:28:26 but I just... It's
01:28:28 fun to get the rematch when the underdog already won.
01:28:30 Like, if the Chiefs won the first one, but
01:28:32 it was close, and the Lions were going for
01:28:34 an upset and some revenge, that'd
01:28:36 be more fun. But, you know, I just think
01:28:38 I want the two best teams. I want Ravens-Niners.
01:28:40 I think that'd be a fantastic game.
01:28:42 I'm going to take the Ravens. I'm going to be
01:28:44 honest. I will engage with this just
01:28:46 for a second here.
01:28:48 The whole Brady-Mahomes thing that
01:28:50 has somehow come up over the last week. Why
01:28:52 this week? What about what Mahomes
01:28:54 did last week is what put people
01:28:56 over the top. He was great.
01:28:58 He was normal Mahomes. He was fantastic
01:29:00 on the road in the playoffs. But that was like
01:29:02 that's what quarterbacks do on the road in the playoffs
01:29:04 when they're very good at what they do.
01:29:06 And this is what Mahomes has been.
01:29:08 And, like, one of the reasons he looks so good
01:29:10 is receivers finally showed up
01:29:12 in a way that they haven't all season long.
01:29:14 And
01:29:16 I don't think that's going to be the case
01:29:18 again. Do you think those... I just
01:29:20 don't believe that these Chiefs receivers who have been
01:29:22 inconsistent all year long are suddenly
01:29:24 going to do it two times in a row
01:29:26 on the road in the playoffs
01:29:28 in tough environments? I think last
01:29:30 week had a lot more to do with that Bill's defense
01:29:32 being incredibly hurt.
01:29:34 And the reason it was as good as it was
01:29:36 and guys not being very good.
01:29:38 Ravens are an elite defense.
01:29:40 And I just think
01:29:42 they're going to take it to them.
01:29:44 And obviously the Chiefs
01:29:46 will still score. It's Mahomes. They've got a really
01:29:48 good offense even with the inconsistencies.
01:29:50 But Ravens defense
01:29:52 is elite. Offense is
01:29:54 elite. I think the Ravens
01:29:56 probably score on the Chiefs like the Bills
01:29:58 did and... or
01:30:00 more. And you're not going to
01:30:02 have the offensive production from
01:30:04 Casey. I won't be shocked if the Ravens
01:30:06 win this by 10 plus.
01:30:08 Yeah. And that's... I really do think that.
01:30:10 And I think it's funny because it works
01:30:12 out... I
01:30:14 think it could work out really funny
01:30:16 in the fact that you could have
01:30:18 a situation where all... anyone
01:30:20 talked about all week is Mahomes, Mahomes, Mahomes, Mahomes, Mahomes, Mahomes, Mahomes, Mahomes.
01:30:24 And then
01:30:26 you get into the game and they lose by 10 points.
01:30:28 Right? And it's like all we've been talking about all week
01:30:30 is Mahomes. And it's like, "Oh yeah, we forgot the Ravens are actually
01:30:32 really good. Looks like they're getting Mark Andrews
01:30:34 back. They're going to have the two
01:30:36 headed monster with Andrews and Likely.
01:30:38 And Zay Flowers. And OBJ.
01:30:40 And you know...
01:30:42 What's his name from... Who's the kid from Arizona
01:30:44 State? No, not Arizona State.
01:30:46 Minnesota
01:30:48 with the wide receiver.
01:30:50 What the hell is his name?
01:30:52 Bateman. Right? So they have
01:30:54 guys, right? That
01:30:56 like... They have skill position players.
01:30:58 Right? And so they're a good
01:31:00 team. Lamar's a great quarterback.
01:31:02 Lamar's probably going to be MVP. Right? And so
01:31:04 it's all these things. Right? And so I think that that's
01:31:06 the fascinating
01:31:08 part for me is that
01:31:10 everyone all week is going to be talking about Mahomes and Mahomes
01:31:12 catching Brady and this and that and this and that.
01:31:14 And all of a sudden he's going to lose in the
01:31:16 JVG game. And then all the people...
01:31:18 Well, I mean, you know, he didn't have the receivers
01:31:20 and he wasn't... And it's going to be
01:31:22 non-stop excuse central and I'm going to love it.
01:31:24 So I just... I cannot
01:31:26 root for the Chiefs. Can't bring myself to do
01:31:28 it. I'm going Ravens 3-0.
01:31:30 Yeah, no. I'm with you.
01:31:32 The Ravens... For all the talk about it,
01:31:34 Mahomes is fantastic. Mahomes is a better
01:31:36 quarterback than Lamar Jackson. The Ravens
01:31:38 passing offense has been better than the Chiefs
01:31:40 passing offense this year. It really isn't that
01:31:42 close. Right. Which again does
01:31:44 have to do with the supporting cast. It's a team sport.
01:31:46 I don't think Mahomes suddenly got worse.
01:31:48 But they designed a really
01:31:50 good offense for Lamar Jackson who's incredibly
01:31:52 smart and an accurate passer and
01:31:54 you know, to its full potential
01:31:56 with some receivers who fit what
01:31:58 they want to do really well. And then
01:32:00 Chiefs have injuries. Joe Tooney's banged up
01:32:02 and that's going to be really
01:32:04 tough for them.
01:32:06 So yeah, I'm taking the Chiefs in this
01:32:08 one. And I don't think... It's not the Chiefs, it's the Ravens.
01:32:10 And I don't think it's close. Okay.
01:32:12 What's the other one? What's the line
01:32:14 on that Lions game?
01:32:16 Niners favored by
01:32:18 seven points in the NFC Championship
01:32:20 game hosting the Lions.
01:32:22 Which direction are we going?
01:32:24 Man, so...
01:32:26 [sigh]
01:32:28 Alright.
01:32:30 You know what? And I've gone back
01:32:32 and forth. I'm going Lions plus seven.
01:32:34 Because for
01:32:36 a multitude of reasons, I don't
01:32:38 know if the Lions will win.
01:32:40 I do think the Lions
01:32:42 will play hard and
01:32:44 will make it a game.
01:32:46 Now maybe they'll lose by ten.
01:32:48 But I do think
01:32:50 it's close enough that they might win.
01:32:52 They might only lose by five or
01:32:54 four or even three. And I
01:32:56 think then that's a situation where they cover
01:32:58 but don't get into the Super Bowl.
01:33:00 I think the Lions make it a game.
01:33:02 And whether they win or not is
01:33:04 up for debate. I'm not sure. But I do think they make it a game.
01:33:06 Yeah.
01:33:08 I'm going to fully agree with you here.
01:33:10 I have the Lions covering but
01:33:12 I think San Francisco still does end up winning.
01:33:14 I think we saw that the
01:33:16 Niners defense has some
01:33:18 holes in the running game
01:33:20 in particular that the Packers were
01:33:22 able to expose last week.
01:33:24 And I think that is something
01:33:26 that the Lions are definitely
01:33:28 going to be able to take advantage of.
01:33:30 But I also think it's
01:33:32 probably going to be just a little bit too much for
01:33:34 Detroit on the road. I think there's
01:33:36 just too much talent for San Francisco.
01:33:38 Even if D'Bas Samuel
01:33:40 isn't playing or
01:33:42 is 50% of what he
01:33:44 usually brings to the table.
01:33:46 I just think San Francisco is a
01:33:48 fundamentally
01:33:50 better team here. I think we just saw the
01:33:52 Lions play too far. We talked about
01:33:54 everybody reacting to the Niners just playing
01:33:56 a close game and scraping out of it.
01:33:58 We just saw the Lions do the same thing
01:34:00 two weeks in a row. And teams are close in the NFC.
01:34:02 I think this will again be close but I think
01:34:04 the Niners are just a better team here.
01:34:06 Yeah, and I think you're right about that.
01:34:10 So Thad Skywalker just
01:34:12 mentioned, and I'll throw it up here,
01:34:14 he's saying that you can see the Niners killing the Lions
01:34:16 because if you rattle
01:34:18 off, they won't stand a chance.
01:34:20 The one difference
01:34:22 about that is that I
01:34:24 do think that the Patriots were able to stop the run
01:34:26 in that game. I just
01:34:28 think San Fran, like you mentioned, just got
01:34:30 exposed in the running game against
01:34:32 Green Bay and the Lions have
01:34:34 absolutely no problem just running
01:34:36 the ball down your face.
01:34:38 And you know,
01:34:40 down your face, through your face, I don't know,
01:34:42 down your throat, however you want to say it.
01:34:44 Up your face, right, whatever.
01:34:46 So, you know,
01:34:48 the idea for me
01:34:50 is that they'll run it. They've got
01:34:52 no problem just running it non-stop.
01:34:54 I think that they'll take the burden off
01:34:56 of Jared Goff a little bit.
01:34:58 They'll throw some of those quick passes to
01:35:00 St. Brown and then
01:35:02 run, run, run, run, run,
01:35:04 play action and you're going up top
01:35:06 to Jameson Williams and seeing if you can hit a deep
01:35:08 shot, right, and score quickly.
01:35:10 I think that those are the kind
01:35:12 of where I'm looking at. I don't know
01:35:14 if they're going to have a chance to win.
01:35:16 I don't know if they're going to be
01:35:18 able to win, but I do think that they're going
01:35:20 to keep it close. They might get blown out,
01:35:22 you never know, but I think that they're going to
01:35:24 keep it close and they might even win.
01:35:26 So I'm keeping my options
01:35:28 open for the Lions winning because, man,
01:35:30 wouldn't it be so great to see the Lions in the Super Bowl?
01:35:32 I think that would be so awesome.
01:35:34 I just don't need to see Jared Goff
01:35:36 in another Super Bowl. I feel like I've done
01:35:38 that and I'm okay. I don't need seconds.
01:35:40 You're not wrong on that.
01:35:42 It's a different Jared Goff now. I do acknowledge that.
01:35:44 The Niners'
01:35:46 pass defense is elite and
01:35:48 they're at their best defending the center of the field
01:35:50 where the Lions like to attack.
01:35:52 Fred Warner, I think,
01:35:54 kind of becomes a huge
01:35:56 piece in this game, roving
01:35:58 the middle of the field as a run defender
01:36:00 and as a pass defender.
01:36:02 That's the guy the Lions are going to be attacking.
01:36:04 If they do it successfully, they'll probably find a way
01:36:06 to win this game, but if Fred Warner makes
01:36:08 enough plays, if he's able to get a pick in there
01:36:10 somewhere, get his hand on some
01:36:12 balls and deflect them,
01:36:14 it might be a tough night for Detroit.
01:36:16 I'm excited to see how this one plays out.
01:36:18 I think we're going to get to
01:36:20 entertaining games. I think we're going to have some fun
01:36:22 storylines. Maybe
01:36:24 the NFL nailed it and ends up being Chiefs-Lions
01:36:26 and we get the same game book-ending
01:36:28 the season. That would be
01:36:30 something if they nailed it with
01:36:32 a Thursday night opener.
01:36:34 That would be wild, wouldn't it?
01:36:36 Alright,
01:36:38 you want to do a trivia question and then we'll finish
01:36:40 with this. We can switch to this, right?
01:36:42 Yeah, so we've got a
01:36:44 fun one. Last week's question was about
01:36:46 which Patriots head coach,
01:36:48 not which Patriots head coach,
01:36:50 Jarrod Mayo recorded his first
01:36:52 career interception in 2011 against
01:36:54 which former Indianapolis Colts
01:36:56 quarterback? That was Dan Orlovsky.
01:36:58 That was the one near the Colts
01:37:00 took a step back without Peyton Manning
01:37:02 and tanked to go get
01:37:04 Andrew Locke. Jarrod Mayo
01:37:06 able to get a pick at Dan Orlovsky in that one.
01:37:08 Congrats to Thad Skywalker
01:37:10 who has two in a row now.
01:37:12 A little hot streak going for Thad.
01:37:14 Today's question.
01:37:16 Today is January
01:37:18 25th and the number
01:37:20 25 is also
01:37:22 the jersey number that this
01:37:24 three time Super Bowl champ
01:37:26 were with the Patriots in his first
01:37:28 stint with the team.
01:37:30 Oh, OK.
01:37:32 Can you name which Patriot I'm talking
01:37:34 to? OK.
01:37:36 Thad, do you know who I'm talking about?
01:37:38 I think people are going to be able to
01:37:40 get this one.
01:37:42 We'll test some memories
01:37:44 here. It's a Patriot legend
01:37:46 who had a number
01:37:48 and then left. I would hope so.
01:37:50 We'll see.
01:37:52 By the way, TJ had said in there
01:37:54 that he's a Blue Jays fan.
01:37:56 Canadian up there.
01:37:58 That's his
01:38:00 baseball team.
01:38:02 We got AL East.
01:38:04 And if he's a Leafs fan
01:38:06 too? Yikes.
01:38:08 I can tolerate you being a
01:38:10 Blue Jays fan, TJ. Don't tell me you're a Leafs fan.
01:38:12 It's also
01:38:14 just the devastation and heartbreak.
01:38:16 It's just terrible.
01:38:18 I, for one, feel bad for you.
01:38:20 A little
01:38:22 4-1 joke in there, Pat?
01:38:24 That's brutal.
01:38:26 It's brutal.
01:38:28 By the way,
01:38:30 Thad Skywalker
01:38:32 got it. I will say my dad did
01:38:34 text me before.
01:38:36 Thad sent it in the chat.
01:38:38 So,
01:38:40 with the correct answer.
01:38:42 OK.
01:38:44 Your dad's
01:38:46 not in the chat.
01:38:48 TJ goes, "I won't tell you then."
01:38:50 Hey, listen. I feel bad for you.
01:38:52 It is what it is. What are you going to do?
01:38:54 I do. I do. You love what you love
01:38:56 and it just is what it is.
01:38:58 The Leafs have had some good teams too.
01:39:00 I do
01:39:02 have some empathy there for the heartbreak that's gone on.
01:39:04 The Leafs
01:39:06 don't deserve to be this bad.
01:39:08 They've had good enough teams to win some
01:39:10 playoff series.
01:39:12 Time for On This Day in Sports History?
01:39:14 Yes, it is.
01:39:16 Yes, it is.
01:39:18 I always
01:39:20 forget to hit the
01:39:22 "don't loop" thing because it just always
01:39:24 loops back again.
01:39:26 And now for something we think you'll really like.
01:39:28 This Week in Sports
01:39:30 History!
01:39:32 OK, so you want to go first
01:39:34 or do you want me to go first?
01:39:36 I can do mine first.
01:39:38 Go ahead.
01:39:40 I'm going to put my effort-trusty page day calendar
01:39:42 over here. This has made this so easy for me.
01:39:44 Go back to 1934.
01:39:46 Oh!
01:39:48 The New York Giants had won
01:39:50 the World Series
01:39:52 in 1933.
01:39:54 And on this day in
01:39:56 1934, player manager
01:39:58 Bill Terry declared
01:40:00 "we should win again"
01:40:02 citing three of their
01:40:04 rivals, the Cardinals,
01:40:06 the Cubs, and the Pirates as their
01:40:08 threats to repeating the feat.
01:40:10 He was asked if their cross-town
01:40:12 rival, the Dodgers, would
01:40:14 be somebody who could stop them.
01:40:16 He said, "The Dodgers? Are they still in the
01:40:18 league?" And then,
01:40:20 later on that season,
01:40:22 after blowing a seven-game lead in
01:40:24 September, the Giants were tied for
01:40:26 first place with St. Louis, headed
01:40:28 into the final two games of the season
01:40:30 against the sixth-place Dodgers,
01:40:32 lost both games, losing
01:40:34 the pennant in the process.
01:40:36 The Giants were
01:40:38 the only team in the league
01:40:40 to win the game.
01:40:42 The Patriots were
01:40:44 the only team to win the game.
01:40:46 The Giants were
01:40:48 the only team to win the game.
01:40:50 The Patriots were
01:40:52 the only team to win the game.
01:40:54 The Giants were
01:40:56 the only team to win the game.
01:40:58 The Patriots were
01:41:00 the only team to win the game.
01:41:02 The Giants were
01:41:04 the only team to win the game.
01:41:06 The Patriots lost the Super Bowl
01:41:08 in Louisiana,
01:41:10 1986, of course, to Chicago,
01:41:12 and 1997, of course, to Green Bay,
01:41:14 losing both of those games.
01:41:16 Interestingly enough,
01:41:18 interestingly enough,
01:41:20 both those games feature
01:41:22 an MVP that was not
01:41:24 an offense player, which is rare.
01:41:26 It's rare for
01:41:28 Super Bowls to not
01:41:30 have an MVP of an offense player.
01:41:32 The Green Bay Packers,
01:41:34 the Green Bay game was Desmond Howard,
01:41:36 of course. Do you know who the
01:41:38 MVP was of Super Bowl XX?
01:41:40 - Is it, man, I'm going to...
01:41:42 Is it William Perry? - It is not
01:41:44 William Perry. No, no. - Was he on that
01:41:46 team, or am I getting that? - He was on that team,
01:41:48 and people, not people, but
01:41:50 there's a few people that are
01:41:52 salty about it because he got a goal-line carry
01:41:54 when, instead of giving Walter Payton
01:41:56 a goal-line carry, so Walter Payton never scored a touchdown
01:41:58 in that game, but William Perry did, which is
01:42:00 kind of silly. - Was it
01:42:02 Dick Butkus on that team?
01:42:04 - I don't
01:42:06 think Butkus was on that team. I think Butkus was there
01:42:08 earlier. - Was it a linebacker
01:42:10 for the Bears? - It was a
01:42:12 defensive end?
01:42:14 - I'm not going to get the name. I'm not going to get
01:42:16 the name, then. Who is it? - Richard Dent
01:42:18 was the guy.
01:42:20 So he's just a guy that
01:42:22 couldn't tell you what he looked like. I know his number was 95,
01:42:24 but I just
01:42:26 memorized that. Of course, it was the Patriots, right?
01:42:28 I had memorized that when I was a little kid
01:42:30 because I was looking through and, you know,
01:42:32 who won the MVP of this one and this one,
01:42:34 and that was a name that always stuck with me, Richard Dent.
01:42:36 So Richard Dent was the MVP of that.
01:42:38 Yeah, 46-9.
01:42:40 - Not a good game for the Patriots. Didn't they
01:42:42 score first and then not again or something?
01:42:44 - They scored, I think they went up 3-0
01:42:46 and then they got absolutely annihilated the rest of the way.
01:42:48 But yes,
01:42:50 they did have the lead. - But they did make it.
01:42:52 - That's true.
01:42:54 Also, today, Chad Rahnem was
01:42:56 the one that went up in the kicker.
01:42:58 Also, today on the 25th,
01:43:00 1985,
01:43:02 Wayne Gretzky,
01:43:04 who, you talk about goats,
01:43:06 Wayne Gretzky is the goat of goats.
01:43:08 - For hockey.
01:43:10 - For hockey. And he's the one
01:43:12 that I think, to me,
01:43:14 there's no argument. I think there's no argument
01:43:16 with Brady. I think there's no argument
01:43:18 with Brady. But people will argue
01:43:20 it anyways. You just can't
01:43:22 argue the Gretzky one. The stats are too
01:43:24 ridiculous.
01:43:26 - He's got his number retired everywhere.
01:43:28 - Yes. So, 1985,
01:43:30 Wayne Gretzky scored his 50th goal
01:43:32 in the 49th game of the season.
01:43:34 Which is just
01:43:36 so stupid. My favorite Gretzky
01:43:38 ...
01:43:40 My favorite Gretzky
01:43:42 stat is that you could eliminate every single
01:43:44 goal he's ever scored in his career
01:43:46 and he would still be the all-time leader in points.
01:43:48 Which is just so stupid.
01:43:50 It's just the most ridiculous stat of all time.
01:43:52 So, yeah.
01:43:54 So, there you go. Also, my dad points out that
01:43:56 the Patriots scored first and last
01:43:58 in that Super Bowl. So, they went up
01:44:00 3-0. The Bears scored 46
01:44:02 straight and then the Patriots scored a touchdown at the end
01:44:04 to make it 46-10. So, there you go.
01:44:06 - I believe
01:44:08 the Patriots switched quarterbacks
01:44:10 in the middle of that game, too.
01:44:12 - Yeah, it started with Tony East and he went to Grogan.
01:44:14 - Yeah. Which, if you're switching
01:44:16 quarterbacks in a Super Bowl, the only time switching
01:44:18 quarterbacks in a championship game has ever worked out
01:44:20 is when Bama did it with Tua
01:44:22 and Jay Lenardz. - Not ideal.
01:44:24 Not ideal. So,
01:44:26 and Cam Neely did do that, too. My dad pointed out to me.
01:44:28 And I think Nick Knapps in the chat said that
01:44:30 he did 50-39 at some point
01:44:32 as well. And that also might be true.
01:44:34 But this one was just for 85.
01:44:36 And it happened to be on this date,
01:44:38 which is why I said it.
01:44:40 - We're at hour 45.
01:44:42 How's this turning into a two-hour radio slot for us?
01:44:44 - I know. I know. So,
01:44:46 anyways, well, thanks guys for listening.
01:44:48 As always, we appreciate you. We love you.
01:44:50 Do you want
01:44:52 to do Monday again
01:44:54 since my mock draft is coming out Monday?
01:44:56 We can talk about the mock? - Yeah, let's do that.
01:44:58 Let's do a Monday night show.
01:45:00 - Alright. So, let's do Monday night. We'll do a mock draft
01:45:02 show on Monday night. Kind of go through it.
01:45:04 We'll talk about a little bit
01:45:06 of it and kind of go from there.
01:45:08 And then, so we'll do Monday night
01:45:10 and then we'll do Thursday night again.
01:45:12 And that'll be that. - Yeah. - Alright?
01:45:14 And hopefully, we'll have
01:45:16 some news on something. Maybe the Patriots
01:45:18 will hire an offensive coordinator or a defensive coordinator.
01:45:20 We'll see what happens. - A team's coordinator.
01:45:22 - Maybe a special teams guy. You never know.
01:45:24 We'll do a little bit of a Senior Bowl preview next
01:45:26 week since the Senior Bowl... - Hey, they did sign
01:45:28 Michael Jordan since the last time we saw you guys.
01:45:30 - Great point. Get the GOAT back,
01:45:32 which is cool. So, it's always fun.
01:45:34 That's always a fun one with all the Michael Jordan
01:45:36 memes and gifs and everything like that coming out.
01:45:38 - Yeah, for those who didn't see it, he's like a rotational
01:45:40 backup guard whose name is also
01:45:42 Michael Jordan, who they signed to a futures contract.
01:45:44 - Well, and that's the best part, that he's
01:45:46 guard Michael Jordan. It's just the best. - Yes.
01:45:48 - So, I love it.
01:45:50 So, anyways. Alright, well, thanks everyone
01:45:52 and we'll talk to you on
01:45:54 Monday night.
