Ryan Grubb broke down the game of UW recruit Dermaricus Davis.
Transcript
00:00 >> You mentioned Mara Mara to Marcellus Davis.
00:01 >> Yeah. >> What was it about him that stood out
00:03 to you guys in the recruiting process and what is he gonna bring to the program?
00:05 >> Really, really high ceiling.
00:07 I think that he's got a really high ceiling and he's got the right type of demeanor.
00:11 He's a great kid, super low ego.
00:14 He believes he's got a ton of work to do.
00:16 He doesn't think by any stretch he's arrived.
00:18 And he's super excited about working and he'll work his tail off.
00:21 He's a great kid.
00:22 So really excited about him.
00:24 He's got really nice measurables.
00:27 Long kid, very athletic, super accurate, pushing 70% his senior year.
00:32 Doesn't turn the ball over that much.
00:35 You look at the guys, Mike Penix had ridiculous numbers in high school.
00:38 He had 60 some touchdowns in like three picks or something.
00:41 I can't remember what it was, but he didn't turn the ball over.
00:44 Austin Mack was 40 some touchdowns in like four picks.
00:48 And I thought Mar Mar did a good job.
00:50 Because I think there's a piece to just decision making in general.
00:54 If you're a guy that turns the ball over a ton in high school,
00:57 there's a good chance even with really good coaching,
00:58 you'll still push the ball and turn it over.
01:00 And I thought that was something that showed up.
