00:00 What's going on all Hurricanes? I'm Liam Woolerup and with the release of the
00:04 Week 12 AP poll, I have my Week 12 ACC Power Rankings. Miami falls off the list
00:10 for the first time this season after back-to-back losses against Florida
00:14 State in Syracuse, but the rest looks as follows. Coming in at the number one
00:18 spot is the North Carolina Tar Heels who are also ranked number three in the AP
00:24 poll. Currently 7-0 in ACC play, this team has turned around this season and is
00:29 currently the only team undefeated in conference play. RJ Tavis, he's been
00:33 fantastic as he's currently leading the conference in scoring this season and
00:37 is the number one player in the ACC Player of the Year race. To go along with,
00:42 they've been added by fantastic transfer talent as well as Harrison Ingram coming
00:46 over from Stanford is averaging 10.8 rebounds per game this month. Next up,
00:51 they'll go against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons tonight in a matchup against two
00:55 high-powered offenses. Next, number two of the spot in number 12 in the AP poll is
01:01 the Duke Blue Devils. Currently coming off a loss against the Pittsburgh
01:04 Panthers for their second loss at home this season, Kyle Filipowski has been
01:08 fantastic as he's been averaging 73% from three in his last three games.
01:13 Unfortunately, Mark Mitchell has missed the last two games which played a part
01:17 in their loss to the Panthers, but we'll see if he plays later this week on
01:21 Tuesday as they'll go up against the Louisville Cardinals on the road. Coming
01:26 in at number three is the NC State Wolfpack as they're five and two in ACC
01:30 play this year and three and one on the road. While they don't do anything
01:33 fantastic, they'll be able to string along a lot of wins this season to have
01:37 them at this ranking. DJ Horn has also been great while getting his face in the
01:41 news for flipping off the ref. He's currently averaging 21.3 points per game
01:45 in his last three contests. While they're still searching for that statement
01:49 victory, they might have a chance to go on the road at Virginia this Wednesday
01:53 and get something along those lines. Coming in at number four is the Wake
01:57 Forest Demon Deacons. They're 11-0 at home this season which is the most home
02:01 wins in the conference and they're only one of four teams undefeated at home in
02:06 the ACC. Hunter Salas and Kevin "Boopy" Miller have been fantastic as the star
02:11 wing duo is averaging 35.1 points per game combined this season.
02:16 Additionally, they added some more perimeter talent as Damari Mansanto has
02:20 come back from injury and he's returned to the lineup to add more depth on the
02:24 perimeter. Next matchup, they'll go on the road tonight as I mentioned to face the
02:29 North Carolina Tar Heels. Coming in at number five is the Syracuse Orange who
02:34 put the Miami Hurricanes in heartbreak after a buzzer-beating win this past
02:38 weekend. JJ Starling put up a season-high 22 points and they are undefeated when
02:42 Starling puts up 17 or more points this season. Judah Minch wasn't inefficient in
02:47 his last two games averaging 25% from the field but his rebounding and assists
02:52 have been a major calling card for this team. They'll go to face Florida State at
02:56 home on Tuesday. Coming in at number six in these rankings is Florida State. They
03:03 have won five of their last six after dropping their last game but they've
03:07 been fantastic as of late. They took down Miami this past week as big underdogs
03:11 showing that their depth and size is just too much for the Hurricanes.
03:14 Additionally, Jameer Watkins has been fantastic as of late. He's averaging
03:19 about 15 and a quarter points per game in his last four. Again, they'll face the
03:24 Syracuse Orange this Tuesday on the road. Coming in at number seven is the
03:29 Virginia Tech Hokies as they're coming off an 84 to 78 win over the NC State
03:34 Wolfpack. Sean Padula has arguably been the best player in the conference to
03:38 start 2024 as he's averaging 24.4 points per game. Additionally, that has meant
03:43 Lynn Kidd and Hunter Couture have been playing inconsistent but they're looking
03:46 to step it around and turn things around on Tuesday as they go and play host to
03:51 Boston College. Coming in at number eight in our final spot in the ACC
03:55 power rankings is the Virginia Cavaliers who are 10-0 at home with the
03:59 second best home record in the conference. Their second best points per
04:03 game allowed in the country and they've had inconsistencies offense but we're
04:07 good this week as Reece Beekman averaged 17.5 points per game in his two contests
04:12 this past week. They'll host NC State at home
04:18 this Wednesday.
