00:00 Two things, I think number one, I think he's by far the best in college football
00:04 period at manipulating the pocket.
00:07 His ability to whether it's make a defense alignment, kind of miss him,
00:11 because obviously he didn't have the best line at Washington State.
00:14 Or whether it's hey, I'm gonna move left to kind of get this linebacker to move
00:18 even safety and I'm gonna throw a bomb kind of behind his head.
00:21 So that's a lot of stuff that when I don't know how many people watch
00:24 the Dallas game, but if you go back and watch Jordan Love and
00:27 whether he manipulated the pocket, he wasn't rolling out to run.
00:30 He was rolling out to get guys to move to create openings, to create windows.
00:34 And that's the same kind of thing that Cam Ward does,
00:36 is when he rolls out when he moves, it's more to throw the ball.
00:39 If someone wants to see another example, if you go back and watch Doug Nesmeyer,
00:44 I don't think of them.
00:44 But anyways, go back and watch Nesmeyer that played at LSU.
00:47 He's very different than Jayne Daniels.
00:49 Jayne Daniels was running to run, Nesmeyer was running to throw.
00:52 And that's a lot of stuff that we're gonna get with Cam.
00:55 It's his ability to be mobile, be very accurate, whether it's intermediate and
00:59 especially deep balls on the run, which is one thing that I saw is that when he
01:02 gets on the run, he is very accurate at throwing goes and post down the field.
01:06 >> Is there anything you think he can polish up about his game?
01:09 >> Yeah, and to me, I think it's very simple, two hands on the football.
01:13 It's back to Pee Wee football.
01:15 And it was funny because the first highlight that I watched of him,
01:19 he had a really good red zone run.
01:21 I don't know who it was from, but you see it and the ball's in one hand,
01:24 he's running with it like this.
01:26 And I kind of paused it when the defensive lineman dove at him and
01:29 I was like if that guy was two inches taller,
01:32 his fingertips are hitting that ball and that's a fumble in the red zone.
01:35 I know he's had some issues of fumbling.
01:36 I know that he's also been very good at not turning the ball at least
01:39 interceptions wise, but I know he does have a tendency of fumbling.
01:43 So I think that's something that Dawson just has to be on him saying, hey,
01:46 whenever you move in the pocket, it's two hands on the ball.
01:48 I get it that it's not the most visually appealing,
01:51 I get like especially when you watch the NFL, you see OBJ, Lamar.
01:54 They're running with the ball in one hand and
01:56 that's kind of the minds a lot of kids have.
01:58 But again, if you have a ball security issue and
02:01 especially when guys know when they watch a film, hey,
02:02 this guy in the past has fumbled a lot.
02:05 Defense alignment linebackers are 100% gonna be swiping at that ball hoping that,
02:08 hey, if I can't catch the interception,
02:10 the best thing I can do is get a fumble, get a turnover through that way.
02:14 I think that's the biggest thing he can clean up because he does have a very,
02:17 very pretty throw motion.
02:18 It's quick, it's efficient, he has good feet.
02:20 So to me, I think the biggest knock is ball security, but
02:22 not on the interception standpoint, more just on fumbling and
02:25 not allowing his ability to move to become a negative with his
02:30 inability to kind of secure the football sometimes.
