00:00 Coach Mike McCarthy took over play calling duties this season.
00:05 Now the Cowboys led the league in points scored.
00:07 Dak Prescott had a great year.
00:09 Do you feel that McCarthy should retain those duties?
00:12 Well, and this is about his championship message to fans.
00:16 And he was asked a couple of times about what do you say to fans who are disappointed over this?
00:22 And very frustrated.
00:23 Absolutely.
00:24 And he points out first of all that in his mind they built a championship level program.
00:30 He said not a world championship yet.
00:32 We don't have another trophy yet, but we built that program.
00:35 And part of that building is what he's done in this offense.
00:37 It is absolutely fair to defend Mike McCarthy, if you choose to, by saying they have the number one offense in football scoring wise.
00:45 They installed a brand new offense and it worked.
00:47 They have an MVP candidate season out of Dak Prescott and an Offensive Player of the Year candidate season out of C.D. Lam.
00:56 The running game, which wasn't what they wanted to be, still got Tony Pollard 1,000 yards.
01:00 The defense, not quite what they wanted to be in clutch situations, but still this era, this Dan Quinn era of Cowboy defense, one of the great playmaking defenses of all time.
01:10 And so there are building blocks here.
01:13 This is, in his mind, a championship foundation.
01:16 And he says, I'm not worried about my contract.
01:19 I came here to win a championship and that's what we're going to do.
01:22 Yeah, he reiterated that a few times.
01:24 I didn't come here for a contract.
01:25 I came here to win a world championship.
