Bandit (2022)

Bandit is a 2022 Canadian biographical crime film directed by Allan Ungar and starring Josh Duhamel, Elisha Cuthbert, Nestor Carbonell and Mel Gibson.[1] The film is based on the true life story of Gilbert Galvan Jr (also known as The Flying Bandit), who still holds a record for the most consecutive robberies in Canadian history. The screenplay by Kraig Wenman is largely based on interviews and accounts featured in the 1996 true crime book The Flying Bandit by Robert Knuckle with Ed Arnold.

01:02:02 with the bank jobs going down, 'cause it's no coincidence.
01:02:04 ( muttering )
01:02:07 Ah, shit.
01:02:14 Yeah, all right, I asked around.
01:02:16 Security analysts don't make this kind of cash, Robert.
01:02:20 Well, the good ones do.
01:02:23 Yeah? What about your business card?
01:02:25 The telephone line is disconnected,
01:02:27 and the address doesn't even exist.
01:02:29 What are you doing?
01:02:31 Look--
01:02:32 Are you selling drugs?
01:02:34 No.
01:02:35 Are you killing people?
01:02:36 No, of course I'm not killing people.
01:02:39 Well, I'm running out of options here.
01:02:41 Are you even working with your dad?
01:02:47 My dad's been in the can since I was ten years old.
01:02:52 The last time I saw him,
01:02:55 he was getting dragged off the front lawn in handcuffs.
01:02:58 I didn't tell you because I was embarrassed.
01:03:00 And what about your mom?
01:03:01 All that stuff about your mom, was that a lie, too?
01:03:03 No.
01:03:04 No.
01:03:07 No, that's-- that's the truth.
01:03:10 Look, before my mom left,
01:03:14 she would sit with me and my brother,
01:03:15 and she would just read to us.
01:03:16 She was really big on that kind of stuff.
01:03:18 She was super smart.
01:03:20 Then after my dad got locked up, she--
01:03:22 I don't know, she just checked out,
01:03:26 and she wasn't--
01:03:27 she wasn't really around much anymore,
01:03:29 and she'd always say that no matter how much
01:03:32 I changed my clothes or my shirt,
01:03:34 I would always--
01:03:36 I'd always be him.
01:03:38 Then what the hell is going on?
01:03:41 What are you doing?
01:03:43 Page four.
01:03:49 You're inside trading?
01:03:54 Lower on the page.
01:03:58 Look, after I got out of jail, I met you.
01:04:01 And I wanted to start over.
01:04:03 I wanted a home. I wanted a family.
01:04:05 I don't-- I'm--
01:04:06 That's it.
01:04:08 I'm sorry.
01:04:10 This is you?
01:04:13 Yeah.
01:04:15 You're a robber?
01:04:17 Yeah.
01:04:19 How many have you done?
01:04:22 I don't know, maybe...
01:04:24 30 newspapers worth?
01:04:27 30.
01:04:30 Maybe more.
01:04:33 Look, nobody's been hurt.
01:04:36 Except you.
01:04:38 I'm gonna pack up my shit, and I'll be out by tonight.
01:04:42 I promise.
01:04:44 So you're just robbing the banksters?
01:04:47 Yeah.
01:04:52 Yeah.
01:04:54 Show me.
01:04:59 So what are we looking for?
01:05:13 Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats.
01:05:18 See if I can get in and out of there in a minute 30 and not get caught.
01:05:22 And the first three minutes after, I'll always get away.
01:05:25 Oh, there he is.
01:05:27 I love this guy.
01:05:34 Look at him.
01:05:36 So horny.
01:05:38 You've been here before?
01:05:39 Yeah.
01:05:40 Yeah, but only on recon.
01:05:42 So he's the weakness.
01:05:46 And the opportunity.
01:05:48 Wait, you're going now?
01:05:50 Yep.
01:05:51 Wait, you're leaving.
01:05:52 Oh my God.
01:05:53 Wish me luck.
01:05:54 What?
01:05:55 Oh my God.
01:05:59 Okay.
01:06:01 [♪♪♪]
01:06:29 Hey, man, you Carl?
01:06:31 I'm Carl.
01:06:33 Yes.
01:06:34 Oh my God.
01:06:36 Oh, did you drive the Plymouth?
01:06:38 Yeah.
01:06:39 I just saw somebody over there.
01:06:41 It looks like they were trying to jimmy something in there.
01:06:43 Yeah, it looked like they might be embarrassing.
01:06:45 [LAUGHS]
01:06:52 [♪♪♪]
01:06:55 [♪♪♪]
01:06:58 [♪♪♪]
01:07:26 [♪♪♪]
01:07:28 [♪♪♪]
01:07:30 [♪♪♪]
01:07:36 [♪♪♪]
01:07:47 [♪♪♪]
01:07:49 Where are you?
01:08:00 Wait.
01:08:10 What the hell?
01:08:16 Oh no.
01:08:18 [♪♪♪]
01:08:20 [SIREN WAILING]
01:08:26 Oh my God.
01:08:40 [♪♪♪]
01:08:42 What's he talking about?
01:08:52 Oh my God.
01:08:58 What?
01:09:05 What?
01:09:07 Oh my God!
01:09:09 Are you okay?
01:09:11 Yeah, you know, it's always a bit of an adrenaline rush,
01:09:13 but other than that, it's good.
01:09:15 There was so much going on. I didn't know where you were.
01:09:17 That means I did my job.
01:09:19 Look at that. Look at that.
01:09:21 This is wild.
01:09:25 Yeah, I know, baby. Look, I know.
01:09:27 I know it's a lot, but hopefully, you know, we can get through.
01:09:30 Mmm. Mmm.
01:09:32 Mmm.
01:09:35 [SIGHS]
01:09:37 So what are you thinking?
01:09:45 You gotta promise me something.
01:09:49 Actually, a couple of things.
01:09:51 Okay.
01:09:53 One, you never get caught.
01:09:55 Of course.
01:09:57 Two, you just robbed banks.
01:09:59 I mean, they've screwed over everyone I've ever cared about,
01:10:02 so I can live with that.
01:10:04 Sure.
01:10:08 What else?
01:10:10 You do this until we can retire.
01:10:12 And then we take the baby,
01:10:14 you get that beach bar of yours,
01:10:16 and we move on 100% legit,
01:10:19 you're done.
01:10:21 Deal.
01:10:26 [SIGHS]
01:10:28 Actually, you know,
01:10:37 you gotta promise me something first.
01:10:39 [CHUCKLES]
01:10:41 Oh, yeah, what's that?
01:10:44 [CLINKING]
01:10:46 Will you marry me?
01:10:59 [GASPS]
01:11:02 Oh, my God.
01:11:05 Is that a yes?
01:11:07 [CHUCKLES]
01:11:09 Oh, my God.
01:11:11 [GASPS]
01:11:13 All right.
01:11:18 One of the last two guys we need to ID.
01:11:20 Still nothing on him, huh? Not a thing?
01:11:27 Nothing. He's a ghost.
01:11:29 What about the other guy? Anything?
01:11:31 Didn't he drive the same car?
01:11:33 Yeah, they all do. They're like a Chrysler Fifth Avenue gang.
01:11:36 Tommy and Dave had one, too.
01:11:38 The other guy drove the same exact car, same plates.
01:11:41 Registered to an Andrea Hudson.
01:11:43 What's the explanation?
01:11:45 I think I'm gonna find out.
01:11:49 Someone's at it for you.
01:12:00 Oh, hey. Why do you say that?
01:12:02 You're still in disguise.
01:12:04 Oh, shit.
01:12:08 Don't get sloppy, kid.
01:12:10 [SIGHS]
01:12:11 Yeah, you know, I hear you, but...
01:12:13 to be honest, I've just been focusing on that one last job.
01:12:17 It's a big one.
01:12:19 And I'm gonna be going to a place just like this,
01:12:21 the Oceanside.
01:12:23 You got it figured out yet?
01:12:25 Well, not quite, not quite, but I have been casing out a place out west the last few months.
01:12:30 You know, this is the big one.
01:12:32 They call it the Big Vancouver.
01:12:35 You're naming your jobs now.
01:12:37 Yeah, Robert would have trading cards with his stats on it if he could.
01:12:40 That is actually a really good idea.
01:12:43 Bigger job? You know, you're gonna need a second man.
01:12:46 No, I don't need a second man.
01:12:48 Yeah, what about Bishop?
01:12:50 Come on.
01:12:51 That guy? No.
01:12:53 Yeah, come on. He's a good man.
01:12:54 Yeah, no. Definitely don't need a second man.
01:12:57 Come on, I got an investment to protect. You get a second pair, I'll make you work for it.
01:13:00 Tommy, I don't need a second man.
01:13:01 No, Robert, I insist.
01:13:04 Okay, you know what?
01:13:06 We can talk about this some other time, okay?
01:13:09 Right now, I gotta get back to the wife.
01:13:11 You got a wife?
01:13:13 Yeah, well, a fiancée, technically.
01:13:16 Yeah, I've had the ring the last couple of months, but I just decided now was the time.
01:13:20 Well, congratulations, kid.
01:13:22 Thank you.
01:13:23 Hey, the partner's right.
01:13:26 And your fiancée.
01:13:27 And my baby-to-be.
01:13:28 It's a package deal, all right?
01:13:30 Double fledge.
01:13:31 [laughs]
01:13:33 Well, how about that?
01:13:34 All right, I'm gonna take a piss and get out of here before she has my nuts.
01:13:37 Okay.
01:13:38 Oh, and I got something for you.
01:13:41 What the hell's that?
01:13:42 Karma Chameleon. It's a track one.
01:13:44 Yeah?
01:13:45 MTV, baby.
01:13:47 Oh, it's this George Boy guy. He's fucking everywhere.
01:13:50 What the fuck is with that?
01:13:52 Hey, detective. You finally here to throw down that warrant?
01:13:57 Nah, nah, just a deuce. Teabagging.
01:13:59 Well, you must really like this place.
01:14:01 [laughs]
01:14:02 The only thing I'll ever like about this place is the look on your face when I shut it down.
01:14:06 And that's just a matter of time.
01:14:07 Oh, time's a funny thing.
01:14:09 Let it run long enough, warrants expire, funding dries up.
01:14:13 People get hurt.
01:14:14 I'll light a match for you.
01:14:20 Yeah.
01:14:21 Choke aloof.
01:14:24 [whistling]
01:14:38 Oh, hey.
01:14:39 Hey.
01:14:40 Poor George man.
01:14:51 Yeah.
01:14:53 Yeah.
01:14:54 I am. You know, I think he's underrated.
01:14:56 I like him.
01:14:57 Oh, wow. Too much makeup.
01:14:59 Even for me.
01:15:00 I got a fucking eyeliner on here.
01:15:02 [laughs]
01:15:03 Yeah.
01:15:04 Looks like you're wearing eyeliner.
01:15:06 You're not?
01:15:07 No, no.
01:15:08 Be who you are, you know?
01:15:10 Yeah. Yep. Okay. Sure.
01:15:12 You take care.
01:15:13 Bye-bye.
01:15:14 Hey, uh, "Changing Every Day," that's on that album too, right?
01:15:18 Uh, I think so.
01:15:20 I think so.
01:15:21 Yeah. What do you think he's trying to hide?
01:15:23 I don't know, man.
01:15:26 I'm more into the tune than the lyric, you know what I mean?
01:15:28 Yeah.
01:15:29 Catchy.
01:15:30 Okay, then. We'll see you.
01:15:33 Yeah.
01:15:34 [whistling]
01:15:37 Fuck me.
01:15:38 Jesus Christ.
01:15:40 [sighs]
01:15:48 I think those two guys drive the exact same car
01:15:50 because they're the exact same guy.
01:15:52 He's wearing a disguise.
01:15:54 He's got fake skin and a wig and the whole thing.
01:15:56 Why?
01:15:57 I don't know why.
01:15:58 Well, let's run his plates in five hours.
01:16:00 Yeah, and call every costume and prosthetics place coast to coast.
01:16:02 [phone ringing]
01:16:08 John.
01:16:09 Sorry.
01:16:10 Hi, honey.
01:16:11 [phone ringing]
01:16:17 Yeah.
01:16:18 That'll be good.
01:16:21 District's been keeping tabs on various people,
01:16:23 various vehicles over the last few months.
01:16:25 I know.
01:16:26 One of our guys was heading back to the precinct past the 7-Eleven.
01:16:28 An old Buick was there.
01:16:29 They didn't think much of it, but they thought they'd seen it before.
01:16:32 Couldn't quite shake this feeling--
01:16:33 Okay, if there's a point, now's the time to get to it.
01:16:35 Right, right. Well, it turns out the car belongs to somebody
01:16:37 that we brought in for a DUI, then a failure to appear.
01:16:39 Okay, you screwed. I get it. Why am I here?
01:16:41 We wanted to talk to you.
01:16:44 [door opens]
01:16:46 Hey. Hey.
01:16:58 Our two guys are not only the same guy I saw at the Playmate,
01:17:01 he's also this guy.
01:17:03 That's Robert?
01:17:04 Yes, that's Robert.
01:17:05 Diamond Dave says he's off on a job right now,
01:17:07 something Robert's calling the Big Vancouver.
01:17:09 He's naming his jobs now.
01:17:10 What do we have left in petty cash?
01:17:12 Oh, come on.
01:17:13 I've got maybe 50 left in my account for a plane ticket.
01:17:15 Come on, cough it up.
01:17:16 All right, all right, all right.
01:17:18 Are you okay?
01:17:32 I need a bump.
01:17:34 Oh, my God.
01:17:36 The job is a bigger rush, okay?
01:17:41 Are you sure you're okay to do this?
01:17:43 I'm sure it'll work.
01:17:45 I know what the fuck I'm doing.
01:17:48 You need to keep your shit together.
01:17:50 I've cased this place three times,
01:17:52 and if it's done right, we'll clear over a million in there.
01:17:54 Everything before this was prologue.
01:17:57 What the fuck is prologue?
01:18:01 So, just take a look at these, right?
01:18:07 So, this is definitely him?
01:18:08 Look, like I said on the phone from your fax, definitely him.
01:18:11 And you said something about money.
01:18:13 Has he been back this week?
01:18:15 He came by asking about hiring actors.
01:18:17 For what?
01:18:18 I don't know.
01:18:19 Said he wanted to try something different.
01:18:20 Maybe directing.
01:18:22 Yeah, I'm gonna guess it's not that.
01:18:24 Call Detective Hoffman. It's fine. Seriously, it's fine.
01:18:31 Detective John F. Snides,
01:18:32 my guy's already got in the horn with your team.
01:18:34 Please.
01:18:35 It's all right.
01:18:38 I believe this man has come to your city
01:18:40 to rob a bank within the next 24 hours.
01:18:43 How fast can you get uniforms to sit on those locations?
01:18:47 There's over 670 banks downtown.
01:18:50 Well, the same places get robbed each time he flies into any town.
01:18:53 And I've narrowed it down to five.
01:18:55 He's done two in a day.
01:18:56 Maybe he's gonna up his personal best.
01:18:58 I don't know.
01:18:59 Can you help or not?
01:19:02 I'm gonna go.
01:19:03 Anybody got eyes on anything?
01:19:23 No, I got nothing.
01:19:24 Vegas.
01:19:25 [♪♪♪]
01:19:27 We're all looking for something big and different, right?
01:19:34 Big and different.
01:19:36 [♪♪♪]
01:19:54 Great.
01:19:55 Thanks.
01:19:56 Thank you. Take care.
01:19:57 Well, that should do her.
01:20:06 Hi.
01:20:17 What is this?
01:20:18 Four palms for delivery?
01:20:20 You can't put those here.
01:20:22 Why not?
01:20:23 Because we didn't order them.
01:20:24 Somebody ordered them.
01:20:25 We got anybody posted at the mall?
01:20:27 Let's see.
01:20:43 I think I'll take one of everything.
01:20:45 No.
01:20:47 No.
01:20:51 [♪♪♪]
01:20:53 No.
01:20:56 Open up!
01:20:59 Christ.
01:21:00 Are you serious?
01:21:02 Anyone else see this?
01:21:04 Yeah, someone ordered them. Sure.
01:21:05 I did not.
01:21:06 This is Godwin's, right?
01:21:08 It says, yes, this is Godwin's.
01:21:10 Well, then, they're in the right place.
01:21:12 Do me a favor.
01:21:13 Run the plates on that van.
01:21:15 Hey!
01:21:17 Handle him.
01:21:18 [♪♪♪]
01:21:20 Goddamn it, okay?
01:21:24 Come on, come on, come on, come on.
01:21:25 Your demeanor is incredibly unprofessional.
01:21:27 Hey, you, get on the ground.
01:21:30 Get the fuck on the ground!
01:21:32 Get on the ground now!
01:21:33 Hey, settle down.
01:21:35 Easy.
01:21:37 Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on.
01:21:40 Where's the front door?
01:21:44 [♪♪♪]
01:21:46 There you go.
01:22:03 All of it, all of it, all of it, all of it.
01:22:05 Robert!
01:22:09 I think we've got company.
01:22:11 [♪♪♪]
01:22:13 Get over here.
01:22:14 You're setting my name, you idiot.
01:22:18 Come on.
01:22:19 [♪♪♪]
01:22:25 You did great.
01:22:27 [♪♪♪]
01:22:35 [♪♪♪]
01:22:37 Fuck, he's not robbing our bank!
01:22:46 He's at the Godwins at the mall!
01:22:48 Where'd he go? Where'd he go?
01:22:54 Whoa, whoa, whoa.
01:23:00 Settle down.
01:23:01 Don't run.
01:23:03 [♪♪♪]
01:23:05 Hey, watch it.
01:23:17 Hey!
01:23:23 I got two possible suspects moving north of the mall.
01:23:30 Through coveralls.
01:23:31 Don't move!
01:23:33 Hands up!
01:23:34 Hands up! Turn around!
01:23:36 It's Knights.
01:23:42 Yeah, I think I see him.
01:23:43 Other side of the mall.
01:23:44 Yeah.
01:23:46 I got him.
01:23:49 They're heading for the west entrance.
01:23:50 No, no, no.
01:23:52 I got two over here heading east.
01:23:53 Shit.
01:23:57 Can we take them all?
01:23:58 [♪♪♪]
01:24:00 Go after the two that don't run.
01:24:04 [♪♪♪]
01:24:10 [♪♪♪]
01:24:12 Go, go.
01:24:30 [♪♪♪]
01:24:32 Shit.
01:24:34 [♪♪♪]
01:24:38 [♪♪♪]
01:24:40 Check that door.
01:24:41 Fuck.
01:24:42 I fucked up. I said your name.
01:24:43 Shut up and deal with the door.
01:24:45 Shit.
01:24:49 Shit.
01:25:00 What?
01:25:01 I forgot the gun.
01:25:02 What?
01:25:04 You did what?
01:25:06 I must have left it in the store.
01:25:08 I remember moving so fast, I panicked.
01:25:10 What is wrong with you, dude?
01:25:12 Time's up, Robbie.
01:25:13 Time's up.
01:25:19 You shoot me, you don't recover anything.
01:25:28 You still need evidence.
01:25:31 You're kind of exhibit A, buddy.
01:25:33 No.
01:25:34 You and I both know that you don't have enough to hold me.
01:25:37 No, don't do it.
01:25:41 Hey, let's pick this up another time.
01:25:43 No, no, no.
01:25:44 Hey, hey, hey.
01:25:45 Don't, don't.
01:25:46 Hey, hey, hey.
01:25:47 Hey, dumbass.
01:25:51 Damn it.
01:26:03 No.
01:26:04 Hello?
01:26:14 Pack your bags, baby.
01:26:16 For real?
01:26:18 For real.
01:26:19 Check the top dresser drawer.
01:26:21 No.
01:26:24 All right, all right.
01:26:27 I gotta go. I'll see you.
01:26:28 Don't forget to pack your sandals.
01:26:29 I gotta go.
01:26:30 Okay.
01:26:31 Bye.
01:26:33 Cops will see we bought plane tickets.
01:26:35 They're all over the airport.
01:26:36 Which is why we're taking the train.
01:26:38 Take that.
01:26:39 I'll be in the bar car.
01:26:40 You make sure you're somewhere else.
01:26:41 See ya.
01:26:42 Goddess!
01:26:58 Movers are on their way.
01:27:00 We gotta go.
01:27:01 Movers are on their way.
01:27:02 We gotta go now.
01:27:03 Andy!
01:27:07 We definitely have to go.
01:27:21 Babe!
01:27:30 I got it. I got it.
01:27:31 Get a chair. Get a wheelchair.
01:27:33 Awesome.
01:27:38 Okay.
01:27:39 Okay.
01:27:40 There you go. Have a seat.
01:27:41 Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
01:27:43 Okay, okay.
01:27:45 Okay.
01:27:46 Okay, just relax.
01:27:47 Relax, relax, relax.
01:27:49 You relax!
01:27:50 Don't break.
01:27:51 What a hazard-looking dog.
01:27:53 Oh, my God.
01:27:55 Get out of there!
01:27:56 Oh, my God!
01:27:57 What are you doing?
01:27:58 I saw the, I saw the...
01:27:59 Oh, oh, oh!
01:28:00 Robert!
01:28:03 Robert, woman up!
01:28:04 Okay.
01:28:05 Okay, stay with her.
01:28:07 Breathe, breathe.
01:28:08 Bear down and push.
01:28:09 Push.
01:28:14 And...
01:28:15 up!
01:28:16 Oh!
01:28:25 Oh!
01:28:26 Get with her.
01:28:31 Oh, my God.
01:28:32 Oh, my God.
01:28:33 Oh, my God.
01:28:34 Oh, my God.
01:28:35 Oh, my God.
01:28:38 Hi.
01:28:41 Hi.
01:28:42 It's okay.
01:28:44 It's so sweet.
01:28:45 You're so perfect.
01:28:51 You did it.
01:28:52 She's perfect.
01:28:54 Hi.
01:28:55 Hi.
01:28:57 Hi.
01:28:59 Don't poke her nose.
01:29:01 Just touch her side.
01:29:02 Hey.
01:29:08 Hey.
01:29:09 I'm your daddy.
01:29:11 Yeah.
01:29:14 I'm your daddy.
01:29:17 I'm your daddy.
01:29:18 [choking]
01:29:20 [indistinct radio chatter]
01:29:30 [gunshots]
01:29:45 [footsteps]
01:29:47 Where the hell is everything?
01:29:53 It's gone.
01:29:58 You gotta be fucking kidding me.
01:30:00 Fuck!
01:30:04 While Tommy was fencing 1.2 million in stolen jewels,
01:30:10 the cops were chasing the shotgun from Vancouver
01:30:13 right back to Diamond Dave.
01:30:15 And me?
01:30:16 Well, when shit goes south,
01:30:18 I go north.
01:30:19 Robert.
01:30:20 What?
01:30:21 [door slams]
01:30:31 Are you gonna tell me what's going on?
01:30:33 Look, they're watching the airports and the train stations.
01:30:37 This... this is the safe play.
01:30:39 Tommy helped set this whole thing up last minute.
01:30:41 What about the plane?
01:30:43 What about the bombs?
01:30:44 Look, sitting there,
01:30:47 holding her in that hospital,
01:30:49 I don't know,
01:30:51 it's like I spent my entire life working towards something
01:30:53 like this idea of an escape,
01:30:55 this perfect oceanside life,
01:30:57 but... but with all this,
01:31:00 you two are the only escape that I need.
01:31:03 And like you said,
01:31:05 wherever we are is home.
01:31:08 Right?
01:31:09 Are we safe?
01:31:11 Yeah.
01:31:15 Okay.
01:31:16 Look, New Diggs, Newtown, right?
01:31:18 They don't know who or where I am, so...
01:31:21 Welcome home.
01:31:25 Oh.
01:31:31 Come on.
01:31:37 Hey.
01:31:38 It's not often you get a second chance,
01:31:45 where the universe opens up and says,
01:31:47 "Don't fuck this up."
01:31:49 But I was listening.
01:31:51 I was out.
01:31:52 Besides, in bank robbing,
01:31:54 they don't really have a "bring your kid to work" day.
01:31:56 (whistles)
01:31:57 All right, here we go.
01:32:10 There we go.
01:32:12 Jonas, we're home!
01:32:15 Come here, buddy.
01:32:17 I'm here.
01:32:18 Hi.
01:32:19 Ah, I know that smile.
01:32:21 You like that smile?
01:32:22 I do like that smile.
01:32:23 How are you?
01:32:25 How are you?
01:32:26 (laughs)
01:32:27 Listen, we still need to talk about that edition on the office.
01:32:30 Are we still good?
01:32:31 Yeah.
01:32:33 Yeah?
01:32:34 Uh-huh.
01:32:35 Okay.
01:32:36 Of course.
01:32:37 (knocking)
01:32:38 Oh, grab that.
01:32:39 I'm gonna go get our dinner.
01:32:40 Okay, okay.
01:32:41 Come on.
01:32:42 Let's go.
01:32:43 Hey, I'm looking for my friend, Robert Whiteman.
01:32:46 (laughs)
01:32:47 What are you doing here?
01:32:49 I'm just passing through.
01:32:50 Nobody just passes through, Pim.
01:32:52 Yeah, that's damn right.
01:32:53 Hey, she's putting the baby down.
01:32:55 Grab a seat. I'll get some beers.
01:32:56 Sure.
01:32:57 All right.
01:32:58 Hey.
01:33:05 Thanks.
01:33:06 You got it.
01:33:07 Oh.
01:33:10 There.
01:33:11 (grunts)
01:33:13 (laughs)
01:33:16 Having a toddler is like owning a blender with no top.
01:33:22 Her toys have toys.
01:33:23 Yeah.
01:33:24 You know, I always thought sweatpants were a sign of defeat,
01:33:31 but you actually make them look good.
01:33:32 They should stick you on a storefront.
01:33:33 (laughs)
01:33:34 All right, Tommy.
01:33:37 What are you really doing here?
01:33:39 You're not used to having any real friends, are you?
01:33:44 I just came to see how you were doing.
01:33:48 Yeah?
01:33:49 Yeah.
01:33:50 I'm good.
01:33:51 I'm good.
01:33:52 I'm real good.
01:33:54 You sure?
01:33:55 Yeah.
01:33:56 'Cause I never thought I'd see the day
01:33:58 when Robert Whiteman would be cutting his own grass.
01:34:01 Yeah, whoever thought that weeds would be my biggest problem, right?
01:34:04 Well...
01:34:05 You don't miss it?
01:34:09 Nah.
01:34:11 Nah, it's just a means to an end.
01:34:14 You know, the older I get,
01:34:20 I realize all the stuff I don't need.
01:34:22 All the stuff that when I go,
01:34:23 they're just gonna toss it in the trash.
01:34:25 Yeah, well, you'll definitely have the nicest trash on the block.
01:34:28 Thank you.
01:34:29 Yeah.
01:34:30 (laughs)
01:34:31 It's funny, I can't think of a single toy I ever had as a kid.
01:34:40 Probably because I never had much of anything at all.
01:34:44 Used to piss me off seeing all these other kids
01:34:47 playing with their toys and shit.
01:34:49 I had zip, but that was okay.
01:34:51 'Cause it taught me to appreciate what I earned.
01:34:53 See, once you know what it's like to have something,
01:34:56 well, then you gotta have more.
01:34:58 It doesn't matter whether you're rich or poor.
01:35:01 You're always gonna live to just a little bit beyond your means.
01:35:05 So you gotta know your limits.
01:35:08 You, me, we got everything.
01:35:13 Everything that matters.
01:35:15 All that other shit is just ashes and dust,
01:35:17 like we're gonna be.
01:35:19 So what are you saying? You getting out of the game?
01:35:21 Nah, nah, nah. Too old to grow up.
01:35:23 But you...
01:35:26 do not tickle the balls of the lion on the way out, kid.
01:35:32 Hate to see you get mauled.
01:35:36 [♪♪♪]
01:35:39 [♪♪♪]
01:35:42 [♪♪♪]
01:35:44 [♪♪♪]
01:35:54 [♪♪♪]
01:36:08 [♪♪♪]
01:36:10 Shit.
01:36:12 No.
01:36:28 I gotta do just one more.
01:36:38 One last one.
01:36:39 We'll find another way.
01:36:42 It's the only thing I've ever been good at.
01:36:45 There is no other way.
01:36:49 There's always another way.
01:36:50 We had a deal.
01:36:53 Okay?
01:36:58 Okay.
01:37:06 You're right.
01:37:07 We were...
01:37:08 It was a stupid idea.
01:37:10 You promise?
01:37:13 I promise.
01:37:18 I'll make a few calls in the morning,
01:37:22 and I'll see what I can do.
01:37:23 Okay.
01:37:29 [♪♪♪]
01:37:31 [BABY TALKING]
01:37:44 Don't be like me.
01:37:51 [BABY TALKING]
01:37:58 [♪♪♪]
01:38:00 Thank you, Ava.
01:38:01 [♪♪♪]
01:38:25 [♪♪♪]
01:38:28 [♪♪♪]
01:38:31 [♪♪♪]
01:38:33 [♪♪♪]
01:38:46 [♪♪♪]
01:39:15 Robert?
01:39:16 What are you crying about?
01:39:24 Come on.
01:39:25 Robert?
01:39:30 How are you today?
01:39:33 Robert!
01:39:35 Get some food.
01:39:37 [♪♪♪]
01:39:44 [♪♪♪]
01:39:46 Car's still in the driveway.
01:39:51 Whiteman's gone.
01:39:52 I think Andrew and the kid are still inside.
01:39:54 It's taken us this long to get this far.
01:39:56 I'm not gonna let him get away.
01:39:58 Any ideas?
01:39:59 [♪♪♪]
01:40:02 [♪♪♪]
01:40:04 [PHONE RINGING]
01:40:19 [BABY TALKING]
01:40:20 Hello?
01:40:22 Hey, is Rob there, please?
01:40:23 No, he's not. Can I take a message?
01:40:25 Uh, uh, no, no, no worries.
01:40:27 No, I'll call back. I'll call back. Thanks.
01:40:30 [BABY TALKING]
01:40:32 He's not there.
01:40:46 Got spooked, jumped town? I don't know.
01:40:49 No, no, he wouldn't leave without her.
01:40:51 We only got the TRU and the warfarin tonight.
01:40:55 We gotta make this happen.
01:40:56 He's making a move. He's making a move.
01:40:58 I'll call the air force. Call the train stations, okay?
01:41:00 I'll call the buses and the car rentals.
01:41:02 Come on, this goes down now or we start all over.
01:41:27 [PHONE RINGING]
01:41:29 Goddess?
01:41:33 Hi.
01:41:35 So, anything?
01:41:37 Uh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:41:39 I got a...
01:41:40 Got in touch with an old buddy of mine who...
01:41:42 Uh, has a line on a gig out here.
01:41:46 It's a stale stuff, nothing fancy, but...
01:41:50 I don't know, it'll pay the bills, right?
01:41:52 When will you know?
01:41:54 Well, I'm supposed to sit down with him soon, so...
01:41:58 I have a really, really good feeling about it.
01:42:01 Well, I'm sure it'll be great.
01:42:05 Yeah. Yeah.
01:42:08 So, I should be home by like 4.30.
01:42:10 Can you pick me up at the airport?
01:42:12 Sure.
01:42:15 Yeah, of course, I'll see you then.
01:42:18 Hey.
01:42:19 You know.
01:42:23 I love you too.
01:42:25 Bye-bye.
01:42:28 [DOOR OPENS]
01:42:29 [♪♪♪]
01:42:32 [♪♪♪]
01:42:35 [♪♪♪]
01:42:37 [♪♪♪]
01:43:03 Okay. All right, let me know.
01:43:05 Nothing.
01:43:07 Nothing at the airport, train stations or buses.
01:43:09 I need...
01:43:10 We're not paying you to sit on your asses.
01:43:13 Go do something.
01:43:14 Hey, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
01:43:17 Pass me that over there.
01:43:30 Did you check the local airport?
01:43:32 Pem Air charted a flight out of Pembroke to Toronto.
01:43:38 From Toronto to London, credit card puts him there.
01:43:41 No wonder he was able to do it under the radar.
01:43:43 The son of a bitch has been using the regional airport as a hub.
01:43:46 [♪♪♪]
01:43:48 [♪♪♪]
01:43:50 So...
01:43:58 More beautiful.
01:44:00 Good afternoon, ma'am.
01:44:11 Hi.
01:44:12 Could you open up those drawers, please?
01:44:15 Go, go, go, go, go.
01:44:27 [TIRES SCREECHING]
01:44:29 This it?
01:44:40 Oh, shit, yeah.
01:44:41 Fuck 'em.
01:44:42 [♪♪♪]
01:44:46 Beautiful.
01:44:47 Oh, yeah.
01:44:51 There you go.
01:45:00 Suspect has boarded a flight at London International.
01:45:08 Aircraft is on the tarmac.
01:45:10 No matter what you do, do not let him fly, okay?
01:45:12 Do not let him fly.
01:45:13 [♪♪♪]
01:45:15 No, we're not gonna make it.
01:45:22 Look, there's too much at stake here for somebody else to call her.
01:45:25 Let him fly.
01:45:26 No, fuck that.
01:45:27 Trust me, let him fly.
01:45:28 Let him fly.
01:45:32 You sure?
01:45:33 Yes, let him fly, let him fly.
01:45:35 [♪♪♪]
01:45:38 [♪♪♪]
01:45:40 Okay.
01:45:52 Come on, now.
01:45:53 We gotta go get Daddy, don't we?
01:45:55 You're gonna go on a car ride?
01:45:56 All set up. Come on.
01:45:57 Okay, let's get you in your car seat. Come on.
01:46:00 Ah, that's good.
01:46:02 There you go.
01:46:06 [♪♪♪]
01:46:08 Please be there. Please be there.
01:46:34 Let's go see Daddy. Come on.
01:46:36 Let's go.
01:46:37 [LAUGHS]
01:46:38 No, you don't ever do that again. Ever.
01:46:40 Okay.
01:46:43 Okay.
01:46:44 I won't. It's done.
01:46:45 All right? Done.
01:46:47 Hey. Hey, hey, hey.
01:46:51 Look at this. Look at this.
01:46:53 How are you?
01:46:56 [GIGGLES]
01:46:57 [SIREN WAILING]
01:47:01 [TIRES SCREECHING]
01:47:03 [DOOR OPENS]

01:47:29 Hey! Hey! Hey, hey!
01:47:42 What are you doing?
01:47:43 That was fine.
01:47:44 What is going on?
01:47:47 What is going on?
01:47:48 Don't touch my wife!
01:47:49 Goddamn it!
01:47:50 Robert!
01:47:52 [♪♪♪]
01:47:55 [♪♪♪]
01:47:56 Let go of him! That's my husband!
01:48:00 It's okay, honey.
01:48:01 What do I do?
01:48:02 Everything is gonna be okay.
01:48:04 I want you to get off of me!
01:48:07 Stop it. I have a child.
01:48:09 Did you say that I have a child?
01:48:10 Please stay back.
01:48:11 What happened? You need to step back.
01:48:13 [BABY CRYING]
01:48:15 I'm sorry.
01:48:19 [♪♪♪]
01:48:21 [♪♪♪]
01:48:22 [GUNSHOTS]
01:48:29 Hey, get rid of the stale nuts and replace them.
01:48:39 Hey, detective.
01:48:42 It's been too long already.
01:48:45 It has. It has been too long.
01:48:48 Would you like a stiff one? Maybe a drink?
01:48:50 No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
01:48:51 Today, uh, today I'm serving you.
01:48:53 Time. It's a funny thing.
01:49:03 [♪♪♪]
01:49:04 You're so serious.
01:49:25 You knew?
01:49:27 No?
01:49:29 You've been on the...
01:49:32 ...the force for a while.
01:49:33 You hear about the guy with five dicks?
01:49:37 His pants fit like a glove.
01:49:40 [LAUGHS]
01:49:42 I knew it!
01:49:43 I got you. I got you.
01:49:46 Hey.
01:49:50 You know what amazes me?
01:49:57 What's that?
01:49:58 You.
01:49:59 Really?
01:50:00 Yes.
01:50:01 Thank you.
01:50:02 You knew we were watching you and you just, you kept going.
01:50:04 I mean, what, you weren't loved enough as a kid?
01:50:07 Is that...
01:50:10 That is eyeliner, is it?
01:50:12 Well, maybe it's Maybelline.
01:50:15 No, it's...
01:50:16 You use eyelashes.
01:50:17 What do you say you give us Tommy and we give you less time?
01:50:20 Tommy's a businessman.
01:50:22 There's nothing to give, ever.
01:50:24 And you got nothing on me, so...
01:50:28 No, no, no. We ran your prints with the fads.
01:50:31 Oh.
01:50:32 Yeah.
01:50:33 Vincent Smears is a terrible name.
01:50:35 I mean, I can see why you went with white men.
01:50:37 Well, you got me.
01:50:40 You guys are good.
01:50:43 Okay.
01:50:47 I'll tell you more if...
01:50:50 ...you let me have a face-to-face with my wife.
01:50:54 She's not exactly your biggest fan right now.
01:50:57 Especially after learning your name isn't actually a white man.
01:50:59 Did somebody order a pizza?
01:51:05 Yeah, right here.
01:51:06 Thank you.
01:51:10 Here we go.
01:51:12 You want some?
01:51:15 No, I'm good. I'm good.
01:51:16 You sure?
01:51:17 Yeah, I'm good. It's all you.
01:51:25 Run the prints for the fads again and something will happen.
01:51:28 Hey.
01:51:30 How is he?
01:51:32 Cocky and arrogant as hell.
01:51:35 He grows on you.
01:51:37 Oh, and get me the wife.
01:51:38 So if your name isn't Robert Whiteman...
01:51:50 ...is it just asshole or...
01:51:55 Well, there are a few things that I may have left out.
01:51:57 Yeah.
01:51:59 So what are you, just a bank robber now?
01:52:09 Is there anything else you left out?
01:52:11 Hmm?
01:52:13 When we met, I had one thing in my life.
01:52:22 I believed in people.
01:52:24 And you're not going to take that away from me.
01:52:29 Robert, look at me.
01:52:33 You gotta tell me.
01:52:37 Was I a part of this big lie?
01:52:42 Was I in cover?
01:52:44 No.
01:52:45 You're the only real thing in my life.
01:52:49 I'm more me around you than I've ever been around anyone.
01:52:52 You taught me how to live. You taught me how to love.
01:52:57 You taught me how to trust.
01:53:00 And that's the truth. That's not a lie.
01:53:05 All right, well, that was pretty good.
01:53:11 I still think you're an asshole, though.
01:53:17 Also the truth.
01:53:18 Yeah.
01:53:19 I'm sorry.
01:53:24 God, I know that's never going to be enough, but I'm sorry.
01:53:30 I fucked up.
01:53:32 I fucked it up.
01:53:34 So now what?
01:53:45 Now what?
01:53:46 You should run.
01:53:49 Get as far away from me as you can. I can handle this.
01:53:53 Clearly you can't.
01:53:55 And you know what? I'm not like you, Robert.
01:53:59 I don't run.
01:54:02 I don't run.
01:54:03 How you been, partner?
01:54:21 You okay in here?
01:54:23 I'm all right. I'm all right.
01:54:24 Look, I'm sorry if any of this brought shit down on you.
01:54:31 Hey, they found you through me. I should be apologizing to you.
01:54:34 What kind of time they talking?
01:54:37 Um, like a 20.
01:54:40 I got up to all the robberies. They're probably charging me for two.
01:54:45 Probably be up at 98, 99.
01:54:50 Hey, you could probably do a better deal if you turned in the others.
01:54:55 Me alone, you'd be up in eight.
01:54:59 I don't know a lot about friends or family, but I would never do that.
01:55:02 You know plenty.
01:55:08 Travel well, bud.
01:55:15 Travel well, bud.
01:55:16 Please rise.
01:55:32 The court hereby finds Gilbert Galvin Jr. guilty on all charges of armed robbery
01:55:42 and hereby sentences him to 20 years in the Milhaven Institution, effective immediately.

01:56:19 Like anything, it takes practice.
01:56:22 And when you finally realize that home is not a place you stay,
01:56:28 or can even find on a map,
01:56:31 bad becomes that warm place where everything is possible.
