00:03:00 >> Hello, Brian.
00:03:00 >> Lenore?
00:03:01 I just wanted to give Kim her present.
00:03:06 >> We're letting the kids have their own space.
00:03:08 You can put it right there with the others.
00:03:09 >> I want to give it to her myself.
00:03:11 >> Still having trouble following the rules, I see.
00:03:13 >> Come on, Lenny.
00:03:14 >> I've asked you not to call me that, please.
00:03:16 >> Excuse me, Lenore.
00:03:18 >> Dad!
00:03:19 >> My darling.
00:03:20 Hello, my sweet.
00:03:21 Happy birthday.
00:03:23 >> I was just telling your father how we arranged the presents.
00:03:25 >> Here.
00:03:25 >> Sweetie, I think it's Batman or Stud Leonard, not the others.
00:03:29 >> Cool.
00:03:30 A karaoke machine?
00:03:35 >> Well, I figure she wants to be a singer.
00:03:37 >> When she was 12, Brian, we've moved on.
00:03:39 >> Thank you, Daddy.
00:03:41 >> My pleasure.
00:03:42 >> I still want to be a singer, just don't tell Mom.
00:03:45 >> You got it.
00:03:46 Here, one for the book.
00:03:48 >> We have a professional photographer.
00:03:50 >> Big smile, sweetie.
00:03:52 That's my girl.
00:03:52 >> [LAUGH]
00:04:02 >> Happy birthday to you.
00:04:16 Happy birthday to you.
00:04:20 Happy birthday to you.
00:04:23 >> Oh, Stuart, you're impossible.
00:04:25 >> I know.
00:04:25 Hey, Brian.
00:04:27 >> Stuart?
00:04:29 >> She's not a little girl anymore, huh?
00:04:31 >> I guess not.
00:04:32 >> You gonna join us for lunch?
00:04:33 >> No, thanks.
00:04:34 I just wanted to be here to wish her a happy birthday.

00:05:42 LA, third Saturday in May, red meat, red wine, sound familiar?
00:05:46 >> Yeah, he probably had a lot on his mind.
00:05:47 >> Yeah, the busy life of a retiree, every day a new adventure.
00:05:50 >> What does a retiree do these days anyway?
00:05:52 Take naps, play golf, hit on rich widows?
00:05:55 >> Matt takes care of the morning.
00:05:57 >> Yeah, well, come on, guys, you know why I'm here.
00:06:00 >> Yeah? How's that going?
00:06:01 >> Okay, we had her birthday today.
00:06:03 Can you believe Mike Kimmy's 17?
00:06:05 >> Whoa, 17.
00:06:07 >> [SQUEAL]
00:06:09 >> To Kim.
00:06:10 >> Lenny still got a heart on for you?
00:06:11 >> She's not Lenny anymore, she's Lenore.
00:06:15 >> She's still got a heart on.
00:06:17 >> And the husband?
00:06:18 >> The same, perfect.
00:06:19 >> Dig deep enough, there's always shit.
00:06:21 >> Yeah, we can dig if you want us to dig.
00:06:23 >> What, you think he hasn't done it already, Mr. Attention to Detail?
00:06:25 >> Thank you, Bernick.
00:06:27 >> How's Kimmy?
00:06:28 >> Good, she's good.
00:06:29 >> Yeah?
00:06:31 She sleepover yet?
00:06:32 >> Well, let's say we're working on it.
00:06:34 >> She appreciate the fact that you've given up your life?
00:06:39 >> Order to be closer to her?
00:06:40 >> What a life, huh?
00:06:43 >> Huh.
00:06:44 >> Hey, you remember when we were in Beirut after the chief disappeared?
00:06:47 And Bri was in so deep with that crazy ass chick from Hezbollah?
00:06:49 The guy who said he'd get us inside and then he disappeared?
00:06:52 >> And we're scrambling to get the hell out of Dodge before we get taken down.
00:06:55 And where are you?
00:06:56 >> I promised her I would never miss her birthday.
00:06:58 >> Yeah, yeah, that went down well at Langley, huh?
00:07:01 When they found out you flew the coop to attend your child's birthday 9,000
00:07:05 miles away.
00:07:06 Where'd you say your next posting was after that?
00:07:08 >> The Arctic Circle, spying on penguins, I believe it was.
00:07:10 >> No, no, penguins live in Antarctica.
00:07:12 >> Actually, it was Alaska.
00:07:14 What's your point, son?
00:07:15 >> My point is we have an open space.
00:07:17 Say the word, it's yours.
00:07:18 >> Who likes theirs rare?
00:07:22 >> Okay. >> See you, Bri.
00:07:25 >> Good night, guys.
00:07:26 >> See you, Bri.
00:07:26 >> Hey, look, look, look, look, all kidding aside, we think what you're doing,
00:07:31 it's a great thing, trying to make up for lost time with Kimmy.
00:07:33 But tomorrow's job, right here, four hours work,
00:07:36 $2,500 just for taking some pop diva to and from her concert.
00:07:39 We're one short.
00:07:41 >> A singer?
00:07:42 >> I don't know if you call her a singer, exactly, more like a cash cow.
00:07:45 20 million records this girl's sold already and she's not even 25.
00:07:48 Job's a piece of cake, Bri.
00:07:49 All we gotta do is get her there and take her back.
00:07:51 Inside the hall, they got their own people.
00:07:53 >> Okay.
00:07:54 >> Okay?
00:07:55 >> Yeah.
00:07:56 >> Like that's it?
00:07:57 >> Yeah.
00:07:58 >> Okay, it'll be perfect, just like old times.
00:08:00 >> Better, no one gets killed.
00:08:01 Tomorrow.
00:08:03 Good night, guys.
00:08:04 >> Yeah.
00:08:05 >> Get in the back, Wendy.
00:08:07 >> I always get in the back.
00:08:08 [MUSIC]
00:08:18 [MUSIC]
00:08:28 >> Ma'am, excuse me, if you don't mind, I suggest a team moment.
00:08:39 >> My mother is ma'am, if you don't mind.
00:08:41 [MUSIC]
00:08:51 >> Yeah, you're in the room.
00:08:52 >> Okay.
00:08:53 >> Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go.
00:08:57 >> Thank you.
00:08:58 >> Come on.
00:08:59 [MUSIC]
00:09:09 >> Wow, that was beautiful.
00:09:16 >> Thanks.
00:09:17 What did you say your name was again?
00:09:18 >> Mills, Brian Mills.
00:09:20 >> Nice to meet you, Brian Mills.
00:09:21 >> You too.
00:09:22 >> You're on, come on, let's go, let's go.
00:09:26 >> Okay, guys.
00:09:27 >> Excuse me, miss, I know this isn't the right time, but
00:09:29 I have a daughter who wants to be a singer, was wondering if you have any tips for her?
00:09:33 >> Yeah, I do.
00:09:36 Tell her to pick another career.
00:09:37 [MUSIC]
00:09:41 >> I got one.
00:09:42 We're waiting on an airstrike, and we're waiting, and we're waiting.
00:09:45 And then my satellite phone rings.
00:09:46 >> Yeah? >> Who is it?
00:09:47 >> Hello.
00:09:47 >> It's the guy we're looking to terminate.
00:09:49 >> Hi, honey.
00:09:49 >> We'd like to know if you want some tea set up.
00:09:51 >> Sorry, guys, it's Kim.
00:09:52 >> She just heard there's- >> Noise, I'm at a concert.
00:09:57 You know this song?
00:10:00 Kim?
00:10:02 Kim?
00:10:02 That's her.
00:10:03 No, no, no, no, I'm not attending.
00:10:06 I'm not attending.
00:10:07 I'm helping some friends out with security.
00:10:09 Well, of course I met her.
00:10:11 Who do you think's guarding her?
00:10:14 I'm glad you're impressed.
00:10:15 Hey, I'm happy you called.
00:10:18 I'm happy you called.
00:10:19 What?
00:10:22 Lunch, tomorrow.
00:10:23 Sure, sure, I know the place.
00:10:27 1230 it is.
00:10:29 I'll see you then.
00:10:31 >> Here he is.
00:10:34 >> And? >> So what happened?
00:10:35 >> She wants to have lunch.
00:10:36 >> Okay.
00:10:37 >> Just the two of us.
00:10:38 >> Well, all right, that's fantastic.
00:10:39 >> See, there's progress.
00:10:40 >> That's great.
00:10:41 [SOUND]
00:10:51 >> Who left that gate open?
00:10:56 >> All right, get her out of here.
00:10:57 Take the lead, go, go, go, go, go.
00:11:00 >> What?
00:11:01 >> We're going to need more security here now.
00:11:03 >> That's great.
00:11:04 [SOUND]
00:11:14 >> Bernie, stand by, stand by.
00:11:17 >> Go, go, go.
00:11:18 [SOUND]
00:11:23 >> Here, take this.
00:11:24 This should help take the age off the shock.
00:11:27 Come on, come on, drink some more.
00:11:28 [SOUND]
00:11:38 >> It's okay, it's okay.
00:11:39 [SOUND]
00:11:46 >> You're safe now.
00:11:47 [SOUND]
00:11:50 >> Bernie, Casey.
00:11:52 >> Yep.
00:11:53 >> Rambo.
00:11:54 >> Seriously, Bri, you should think about coming with us.
00:11:57 You still got the edge.
00:11:58 There's more of this to be had.
00:12:00 She's going to college next year, right?
00:12:01 >> Yep.
00:12:02 >> I'm gonna lose her.
00:12:03 >> It gives me a year to find her.
00:12:06 >> Mr. Mills, she'd like to see you.
00:12:08 >> How are you feeling?
00:12:15 >> Better.
00:12:19 So your daughter wants to be a singer?
00:12:23 >> Yep, since she was five.
00:12:25 >> No, it's not what everyone thinks it is.
00:12:27 Once the glam wears off, it's just a lot of hotel rooms, lots of airports.
00:12:32 >> It's what she wants.
00:12:33 >> First number is Gio, my vocal coach.
00:12:40 He says she can sing, she can sing.
00:12:42 He'll give her the coaching she needs, and the fee is on me.
00:12:45 The second number is my manager.
00:12:47 If Gio clears her, he'll make sure she gets a shot.
00:12:51 >> Thank you.
00:12:52 >> No, Mr. Mills, thank you.
00:12:55 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:13:05 >> There she is.
00:13:13 >> Dad!
00:13:13 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:13:17 >> Hi sweetie.
00:13:20 >> Hi.
00:13:21 >> Hi.
00:13:22 >> Don't look so excited.
00:13:23 >> I was just surprised.
00:13:25 I thought it was just gonna be Kim and I.
00:13:27 >> I asked mom to come.
00:13:31 >> One raspberry banana milkshake, extra cherries, just the way you like it.
00:13:35 >> Thanks.
00:13:35 >> Quenny, Lenore, would you like something?
00:13:38 >> I'm fine, thanks.
00:13:39 >> So?
00:13:41 >> So, dad, guess what?
00:13:43 You know my friend Amanda?
00:13:44 >> Yep.
00:13:45 >> Her cousins asked us to spend vacation with them in Paris.
00:13:49 How cool is that?
00:13:50 >> Why do you wanna go to Paris?
00:13:51 >> Dad, hello?
00:13:53 The Louvre, the Impressionist Museum, the Picasso Museum?
00:13:56 >> I didn't know you were so into art.
00:13:58 >> Are you kidding?
00:13:59 I've been to the MoMA like a hundred times.
00:14:01 And Amanda went to France last summer and she came back,
00:14:03 she could practically speak French.
00:14:05 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:14:09 >> And because you're under 18, you need my permission to leave the country.
00:14:12 >> Dad, please.
00:14:15 I really, really wanna go.
00:14:17 And they've got this like sick apartment overlooking the river.
00:14:20 >> Just you and Amanda?
00:14:21 >> And her cousins.
00:14:23 >> Don't make a big deal out of this, Brian.
00:14:25 Just sign the paper.
00:14:26 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:14:31 >> What?
00:14:32 >> I'm not comfortable with this.
00:14:34 >> Dad.
00:14:34 >> I know the world, sweetie.
00:14:35 >> Dad, please.
00:14:37 >> I don't think a 17 year old should be traveling alone.
00:14:39 >> I'm not gonna be alone.
00:14:40 >> Two 17 year olds.
00:14:41 >> Amanda's 19.
00:14:42 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:14:49 >> How about this?
00:14:51 How about if I go alone?
00:14:52 You won't even know I'm there.
00:14:53 I'm very good at being invisible.
00:14:55 >> As you so amply demonstrated for most of her life.
00:14:57 Just sign the paper, Brian.
00:15:00 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:15:03 >> I'll think about it.
00:15:04 >> Come on, Brian. Everyone at this table knows what that means.
00:15:06 >> Hey, Kimmy.
00:15:08 There's something else.
00:15:10 >> I don't want anything else.
00:15:12 >> Kim.
00:15:13 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:15:20 >> I don't get you.
00:15:21 >> What?
00:15:21 >> You sacrificed our marriage in the service of the country.
00:15:25 You made a mess of your life in the service of your country.
00:15:28 Can't you sacrifice just a little this one time for your own daughter?
00:15:31 >> I would sacrifice anything for her.
00:15:33 >> Then what's your problem?
00:15:34 >> I'm not comfortable putting my daughter at risk.
00:15:36 >> Putting our daughter at risk by going to Paris?
00:15:40 You're pathetic.
00:15:42 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:15:52 >> She's coming.
00:16:00 >> Thanks.
00:16:01 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:16:05 Three conditions.
00:16:07 I want the address and phone number of where you're staying.
00:16:09 >> Okay. >> If you move,
00:16:10 I wanna know where and with whom you'll be staying.
00:16:12 Okay.
00:16:13 You call me when you land and you call me every night
00:16:14 before you go to sleep.
00:16:15 Okay.
00:16:16 It's international.
00:16:17 My number's programmed it.
00:16:18 Okay.
00:16:19 Okay.
00:16:20 You mean you're not focused?
00:16:20 Yes, I am.
00:16:21 What did I say?
00:16:22 You said to call you when I land and every night
00:16:25 before I go to sleep and your phone's international.
00:16:27 The number's programmed it.
00:16:28 Okay.
00:16:29 One last thing.
00:16:30 I get to take you to the airport.
00:16:32 Okay.
00:16:34 There you go.
00:16:36 Thank you, daddy.
00:16:37 Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
00:16:40 Mom!
00:16:40 I'm sorry.
00:16:43 I love you, dad.
00:16:45 Mom, he signed it, he signed it!
00:16:47 I'm gonna go call Amanda.
00:16:49 [screams]
00:16:51 Wouldn't it have been easier just to sign it
00:16:54 the first time around?
00:16:56 Wouldn't it have been easier if you and I
00:16:57 had talked about it first?
00:16:59 There are certain areas in Paris that you should avoid.
00:17:05 I've written them down.
00:17:06 Dad.
00:17:07 Come on, take it.
00:17:08 We're gonna be spending like 90% of our time in museums.
00:17:10 You don't have to worry.
00:17:12 That's like telling water not to be wet, sweetie.
00:17:15 Mom says your job made you paranoid.
00:17:17 Well, my job made me aware.
00:17:20 I always used to ask mom what your job was
00:17:22 that you were away all the time.
00:17:24 And she would tell me to ask you.
00:17:26 Whenever I did see you, I was afraid to ask.
00:17:30 Yeah, why?
00:17:32 I don't know.
00:17:34 Maybe because I was afraid to find out.
00:17:40 Like maybe it was something I wouldn't like.
00:17:43 I worked for the government.
00:17:44 You know that.
00:17:46 So you were like a spy, right?
00:17:50 What happens if I push this button?
00:17:51 Don't touch that button.
00:17:55 Well, no, I was a--
00:17:57 I was a preventer, actually.
00:18:00 A preventer?
00:18:01 Yeah.
00:18:03 What did you prevent?
00:18:04 Bad things from happening.
00:18:07 So it was a good job.
00:18:11 Yes.
00:18:12 Yeah, it was.
00:18:13 Do you miss it?
00:18:18 I missed you more.
00:18:19 Kim!
00:18:37 Dad, there's Amanda.
00:18:37 Go ahead.
00:18:38 I'll get the bags.
00:18:39 Oh, Jimmy, we'll give you a hand with those.
00:19:03 I can manage.
00:19:04 Lenore, do you know about this?
00:19:07 She's not just going to Paris.
00:19:09 I know.
00:19:10 She lied to me.
00:19:11 Yes, because she can't be honest with you.
00:19:14 Why?
00:19:14 What are you talking about?
00:19:15 Your rules and conditions.
00:19:17 What is this?
00:19:19 It's U2's European tour dates.
00:19:22 She's following a rock band around Europe.
00:19:24 All the kids do.
00:19:25 Stuart got her the tickets.
00:19:26 We've arranged for her to stay in the best hotels.
00:19:27 Best hotels?
00:19:29 You know, you live in your little bubble
00:19:31 here behind your wall with your maids, your chauffeurs,
00:19:34 and servants.
00:19:35 You have no idea what the world is like--
00:19:36 Yes, and neither will she unless she
00:19:37 goes out and experiences it.
00:19:39 Don't you tell me I don't know what the world's like.
00:19:44 For five years, I waited for a phone call that didn't
00:19:47 come for weeks at a time, for a knock on the door telling me
00:19:50 there'd be no calls anymore.
00:19:51 Listen, I know you moved here to build some sort
00:19:58 of relationship with Kimmy, but you're not going
00:20:00 to do that by smothering her.
00:20:03 Let her live, or I promise--
00:20:04 I promise you'll lose her.
00:20:06 Girls.
00:20:14 Kim.
00:20:20 I love you.
00:20:28 [music playing]
00:20:31 I'll teach you all the French words
00:20:46 right now, which may not be that much, but you know.
00:20:48 [laughter]
00:20:51 Here.
00:20:51 [chatter]
00:20:54 Great.
00:20:56 OK, now take a look.
00:20:57 I'll take some help, one with the two of you.
00:20:59 Yes, please.
00:21:01 OK.
00:21:02 [whispering]
00:21:02 Do you like it?
00:21:03 OK.
00:21:04 Yeah, great.
00:21:05 Very nice. - Thank you.
00:21:06 Where are you from?
00:21:07 I'm California.
00:21:08 Oh, I wish they all could be California girls.
00:21:15 I'm Peter.
00:21:16 Oh.
00:21:16 [humming]
00:21:18 [speaking french]

00:21:24 Nice to meet you.
00:21:25 Hi, hi.
00:21:26 Um, you're going into Paris?
00:21:28 Oui.
00:21:29 Um, you know, taxi here are so damn expensive.
00:21:33 Want to share?
00:21:34 Yeah.
00:21:35 OK, perfect.
00:21:36 Thanks.
00:21:37 To check arrival, please press 1.
00:21:43 Please enter the flight number.
00:21:45 Flight 288 arrived in Paris Charles de Gaulle
00:21:51 at 8 AM local time.
00:21:54 [siren]
00:21:56 Yeah.
00:21:57 Oh.
00:21:58 Are you serious?
00:22:00 Oh my god.
00:22:02 Nice address.
00:22:03 Oh, yeah, thanks.
00:22:04 It's actually my cousin's, but they're
00:22:06 in Madrid for the summer.
00:22:07 So we have the whole place to ourselves.
00:22:08 How cool is that?
00:22:09 Wow.
00:22:10 I didn't know that.
00:22:11 It's still beginning.
00:22:13 Oh, well, I have to be going.
00:22:15 Nice to meet you.
00:22:16 Oh, OK.
00:22:17 You too.
00:22:18 Bye.
00:22:19 Hey.
00:22:21 There is a party tonight at school.
00:22:23 Want to come?
00:22:24 Sure, yeah.
00:22:25 Amanda, we don't even know him.
00:22:26 What is there to know?
00:22:27 He's hot.
00:22:28 I come pick you up around 9.
00:22:30 OK, yeah.
00:22:31 OK, great.
00:22:32 Your apartment?
00:22:33 It's the whole fifth floor, Hoffman.
00:22:35 OK, see you tonight.
00:22:36 OK, bye.
00:22:36 Bye.
00:22:37 Bye.
00:22:38 Yeah, 9 rue de la Pompe, fifth floor.
00:22:50 Two girls, round 18.
00:22:51 Oh my god.
00:22:57 How sick is this?
00:22:58 Are you kidding me?
00:22:59 It's great.
00:23:01 I just wish you would have told me
00:23:02 they weren't going to be here.
00:23:04 What's the difference?
00:23:05 I told my dad they were going to be here.
00:23:06 You told your dad you were going to museums too.
00:23:08 Oh, come on.
00:23:10 He's not going to know.
00:23:12 I'm going to sleep with him.
00:23:13 Who?
00:23:14 Peter.
00:23:15 You just met him.
00:23:16 I hear French guys are amazing at bed.
00:23:19 Maybe he has a friend, huh?
00:23:21 No, no.
00:23:22 Oh, come on.
00:23:23 You've got to lose it sometime.
00:23:24 Might as well be in Paris.
00:23:25 Oh.

00:24:22 It's me.
00:24:23 Has Kim called you?
00:24:24 Ryan.
00:24:25 She's 17.
00:24:26 She's in Paris.
00:24:28 Give her some space.
00:24:29 She'll call.
00:24:30 Take a sleeping pill.
00:24:31 Have a drink or something.
00:24:32 Good night.
00:24:34 Good night.
00:24:35 [music playing]
00:24:39 [music playing]
00:24:42 [music playing]
00:24:45 [phone ringing]
00:24:47 [music playing]
00:24:51 [music playing]
00:24:53 Hi, Daddy.
00:24:55 Kim.
00:24:55 What did I say?
00:24:59 You were supposed to call me when you landed.
00:25:01 I'm sorry.
00:25:02 I thought maybe something was wrong with the phone
00:25:03 I gave you.
00:25:04 No, it was just such a rush at the airport.
00:25:06 All right.
00:25:07 Well, of course, if I'd had the number where you were staying,
00:25:10 I would have just called there.
00:25:12 What's the number?
00:25:13 I don't-- I don't have it.
00:25:15 Kimmy, come on.
00:25:16 This is one of the conditions.
00:25:17 Let me talk to one of the cousins.
00:25:19 I'll get it from them.
00:25:21 Dad, they're in Spain.
00:25:23 I didn't know, I swear.
00:25:25 To Spain?
00:25:25 Kim, is there anything else you want to tell me?
00:25:30 Kimmy?
00:25:31 Kimmy?
00:25:35 There's someone here.
00:25:42 Her cousins are back?
00:25:44 No.
00:25:46 Oh my god, they got Amanda.
00:25:48 What?
00:25:49 What are you talking about?
00:25:50 Kimmy?
00:25:51 Dad.
00:25:52 Kim.
00:25:54 Kim.
00:25:55 Dad, it's her.
00:25:57 It's her.
00:25:58 All right, listen to me.
00:25:59 Oh god.
00:26:01 Did you meet anyone on the plane?
00:26:03 No.
00:26:03 In the airport?
00:26:05 No.
00:26:06 Yes, Peter.
00:26:06 Peter?
00:26:07 Peter who?
00:26:08 I don't know.
00:26:08 An American?
00:26:09 No.
00:26:10 Did he know where you were staying?
00:26:12 He took a cab with us.
00:26:14 Help me.
00:26:18 I'm scared.
00:26:22 I know you are.
00:26:23 Stay focused, Kimmy.
00:26:24 You have to hold it together.
00:26:25 How many people are there?
00:26:26 Be precise.
00:26:27 Three, four.
00:26:28 I don't know.
00:26:29 Where are you?
00:26:31 I'm in the bathroom.
00:26:32 Go to the next bedroom.
00:26:34 Get under the bed.
00:26:35 Tell me when you're there.
00:26:36 I can't.
00:26:46 Now, the next part is very important.
00:26:48 They are going to take you.
00:26:53 Kim, stay focused, baby.
00:26:55 This is key.
00:26:55 You will have five, maybe 10 seconds.
00:26:58 Very important seconds.
00:26:59 Leave the phone on the floor.
00:27:01 Concentrate.
00:27:02 Shout out everything you see about them.
00:27:04 Hair color, eye color, tall, short, scars.
00:27:06 Anything you see, you understand?
00:27:07 [beep]
00:27:08 They're there.
00:27:13 I can hear them.
00:27:14 Remember, concentrate.
00:27:25 [speaking russian]
00:27:27 Put the phone closer so I can hear.
00:27:31 [speaking russian]
00:27:41 [speaking russian]
00:27:44 [speaking russian]
00:27:45 [speaking russian]
00:27:47 [speaking russian]
00:27:48 [speaking russian]
00:27:58 [speaking russian]
00:27:59 [screaming]
00:28:01 [screaming]
00:28:03 [speaking russian]
00:28:06 [screaming]
00:28:10 [screaming]
00:28:12 I don't know who you are.
00:28:30 I don't know what you want.
00:28:35 If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have
00:28:38 money.
00:28:39 But what I do have are a very particular set of skills,
00:28:43 skills I have acquired over a very long career,
00:28:46 skills that make me a nightmare for people like you.
00:28:51 If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it.
00:28:54 I will not look for you.
00:28:56 I will not pursue you.
00:28:58 But if you don't, I will look for you.
00:29:02 I will find you.
00:29:05 And I will kill you.
00:29:06 I will kill you.
00:29:07 Good luck.
00:29:13 Sam, it's me.
00:29:27 You need a favor.
00:29:28 I'm going to download something.
00:29:29 I need it analyzed right now.
00:29:33 She's been taken.
00:29:34 What are you talking about?
00:29:34 Any enemies overseas, Stuart?
00:29:36 I don't have any enemies.
00:29:37 Because you do business overseas through multiple shell
00:29:38 corporations, because you were involved in an oil deal
00:29:41 with a bunch of Russians that went south five years ago.
00:29:43 How the hell do you know about that?
00:29:44 Because I was not going to let my daughter live with someone
00:29:46 without knowing everything about them.
00:29:48 Yeah, well, I have a few resources of my own.
00:29:49 Now's not the time for dick measuring, Stuart.
00:29:51 I'm going to ask you again.
00:29:53 Do you have anyone who's looking to hurt you?
00:29:54 Not that I know of.
00:29:55 Which room is Kim's?
00:29:56 I want to know what happened.
00:29:57 I got a call from her.
00:29:58 There were people in the apartment,
00:30:00 then she was taken.
00:30:00 Oh, God.
00:30:01 Which one?
00:30:02 That one.
00:30:03 [door opens]
00:30:06 [door closes]
00:30:07 Is there something I should be doing?
00:30:09 I have a lease agreement with NetJet
00:30:10 through your umbrella company in the Bahamas.
00:30:12 I do?
00:30:14 Get me a plane to Paris.
00:30:15 OK, for when?
00:30:17 An hour ago.
00:30:17 [door closes]
00:30:18 I'm going to make a call.
00:30:19 You'll be all right?
00:30:20 Yeah, yeah, I'm OK.
00:30:21 [door opens]
00:30:23 [door closes]
00:30:25 [door closes]
00:30:30 Will you-- please get her back to me.
00:30:33 Brian.
00:30:34 First I have to find her.
00:30:35 [sniffles]
00:30:36 [phone rings]
00:30:40 Sam, what have you got?
00:30:43 They're speaking Albanian.
00:30:44 Based on their accents and dialects,
00:30:46 they must be from a town called Tripoja.
00:30:48 Place is ground zero for scummers like this.
00:30:50 Even the Russians give these guys a wide berth.
00:30:52 The one you spoke to, his name is Marco.
00:30:55 And we have information that a mobster boss
00:30:57 by the name of Marco Ocha moved to Paris about six months ago.
00:31:00 If he's the one, he's a big fish.
00:31:02 And the tattoo, by the way, is a group ID.
00:31:06 Am I on speaker, or are you by yourself?
00:31:08 The nurse here.
00:31:10 Hey, Lenny.
00:31:11 Lucy.
00:31:13 She needs to hear it, Sam.
00:31:15 The specialty of the groups coming out of this area
00:31:18 is trafficking in women.
00:31:21 Oh.
00:31:23 Keep going.
00:31:24 OK.
00:31:25 Their previous MO was to offer women
00:31:28 from the emerging East European countries,
00:31:30 like Yugoslavia, Romania, Bulgaria, jobs in the West
00:31:32 as maids and nannies.
00:31:34 Once they'd smuggled them in, they'd addict them to drugs
00:31:37 and turn them into prostitutes.
00:31:40 Lately, however, they've decided that it's more economical
00:31:43 just to kidnap traveling young women.
00:31:46 Saves on transportation costs.
00:31:48 I'm with a baby.
00:31:51 What else?
00:31:53 Based on what they know about the way these groups operate,
00:31:55 our analyst says you have a 96-hour window
00:31:57 from the time she was grabbed.
00:31:59 To what?
00:32:00 To never finding her.
00:32:01 No!
00:32:02 No!
00:32:03 No!
00:32:05 Lenny!
00:32:06 [screaming]
00:32:07 [speaking foreign language]
00:32:10 [screaming]
00:32:13 [speaking foreign language]
00:32:16 Good luck.
00:32:20 Good luck.
00:32:28 Good luck.
00:32:31 Good luck.
00:32:32 Now, see you.

00:42:04 - Gregor Milosevic? - Yes, yes, I am Gregor.
00:42:07 I'm Mr. Smith. Get in.
00:42:09 Here is my resume. The employment agency said we would be doing translation.
00:42:19 Yes, Albanian to English. You do speak Albanian?
00:42:22 Albanian, Serbian, Croatian. I was a teacher in primary school before the war began in Pristina, so naturally I...
00:42:27 - What's your rate? - My rate?
00:42:29 Usually it is 25 per hour for the first three hours and then it goes up to...
00:42:34 - Okay. You're here for 10 hours. - Wait here.
00:42:37 Mr. Smith, I do not understand. What is the job exactly?
00:42:41 Right now the job is to wait here.
00:42:43 - Good evening. - Hi. Looking for a date?
00:42:56 - What's that on your dress? Is that silk? - I do not know. Do you want to know the prices?
00:43:00 It's just the way it falls. It must be silk. How it complements the natural curves of your body.
00:43:05 - The rate is 40 euros for the standard. - Standard? Could you be more specific?
00:43:10 Because back home the standard covers a whole range of possibilities.
00:43:13 Like kissing. You know, closed lips, open lips.
00:43:15 - Listen, if you're not buying, piss off. - No, no, no, no. I did not say I was not buying.
00:43:18 I just like to get comfortable before I purchase. Like this karaoke machine I bought.
00:43:23 You must have read that manual from cover to cover so many times.
00:43:26 I do not give a shit about your karaoke machine, okay? You're going to get me in trouble if you don't buy.
00:43:30 - Trouble? Really? With who? - Piss off.
00:43:32 Okay, okay. Listen, I'm sorry. If I want a package deal, do I get a discount?
00:43:39 - It costs me two now. - My name is Brian.
00:43:42 - Oh, God. You better leave. - I thought we were negotiating.
00:43:47 Anton, I swear it's not my fault. I told him...
00:43:51 - Why are you bothering the girl? - It's none of your business.
00:43:53 She is my business. And if you're not spending money, you're costing money.
00:43:57 - I was negotiating. - That is not negotiating. The price is the price.
00:44:00 - And now you owe me for two that got away. - I don't owe you nothing.
00:44:03 - Fifty euros or I kick your ass. - Sure, sure. Okay. Chill.
00:44:10 Here's your fifty.
00:44:18 - Another fifty for being an asshole. - Now get the hell out of here.
00:44:21 If I see you again, I'll kill you.
00:44:24 Mr. Smith, I do not know what kind of job I'm supposed to do for you, but this is...
00:44:35 - We're hired to translate. - Yes, but translate what?
00:44:37 This.
00:44:47 Translate.
00:44:48 - They're talking about you. - What about me?
00:44:51 They're not saying nice things. They're saying...
00:44:55 Excuse me, Mr. Smith. What an asshole you are.
00:44:59 - If you can explain to me why we're doing all this, maybe... - Just translate.
00:45:03 One of them says the sausage gave him heart, but...
00:45:06 Keep going.
00:45:08 The other one is suggesting something his grandmother used to give him for that...
00:45:13 - Do you really want to hear all this, Mr. Smith? - Every word.
00:45:16 I'm sorry.
00:45:17 Now they're talking about football.
00:45:20 The game between Lazio and Marseille.
00:45:22 They lost money on the betting.
00:45:24 - Perhaps if I knew the purpose of... - You'd be better off not knowing.
00:45:28 It's still football.
00:45:30 One is on the phone.
00:45:33 He has to do a job at a construction site.
00:45:36 Something about fresh merchandise giving problems.
00:45:39 Mr. Smith, I do not understand any of this.
00:45:42 You're not supposed to. Goodbye.
00:45:45 I asked for an English-Albanian dictionary. Did you bring one?
00:45:48 Thank you.
00:45:53 Thank you.

00:54:26 I'm listening.
00:54:30 Well, could you come and meet me first?
00:54:32 I can't see you. Where are you?
00:54:34 I can see you and hear you very well.
00:54:36 You can tell him to stop jogging now.
00:54:39 You didn't really think I was going to come down there, did you?
00:54:50 I didn't think you were going to make such a mess.
00:54:53 I didn't have time to worry about...
00:54:54 -Premus. -I know.
00:54:56 You have 70 hours.
00:54:57 Now I have 56.
00:54:59 -Good job. -No.
00:55:00 Now you have none.
00:55:01 My chief wanted to arrest you.
00:55:03 I convinced him to send you home.
00:55:05 Air France 001.
00:55:08 Leave today at 2.
00:55:10 Third class.
00:55:11 Courtesy of the French government for best services wanted.
00:55:14 Now, what about my daughter?
00:55:18 I told you, I sit behind a desk now.
00:55:21 I take my orders from someone who sits behind a bigger desk.
00:55:24 Come on, seven dead bodies, three in hospital,
00:55:27 a building destroyed.
00:55:28 Total chaos at the airport.
00:55:29 He wanted your ass in chains.
00:55:31 It's the best I could do. I'm sorry.
00:55:33 Sorry doesn't cut it anymore, Jean-Claude.
00:55:35 Not this time.
00:55:36 You can't beat the state, Brian. You know that.
00:55:42 I'm not trying to beat the state.
00:55:43 I'm trying to save my daughter.
00:55:45 If it was a trailer, not a building.
00:55:47 -Did you spot him? -Negative.
00:55:56 [♪♪♪]
00:55:58 [coughing]
00:56:26 No, no, no, no. Leave it.
00:56:28 It's all right.
00:56:29 It's fluids and medication to counteract the drugs.
00:56:33 It's all right.
00:56:34 Where did you get this?
00:56:39 Where did you get this jacket?
00:56:41 Did you get it from her?
00:56:44 Was it from this girl?
00:56:46 I didn't steal it.
00:56:50 I was told she gave it to me.
00:56:52 Where? Where did she give it to you?
00:56:54 In the house.
00:56:57 What house?
00:56:59 The house with the red door.
00:57:01 Sorry.
00:57:05 He said...
00:57:11 He said it was a party.
00:57:14 And the girl who gave you this jacket, was she in the house?
00:57:22 She was nice.
00:57:24 I know.
00:57:25 She's my daughter.
00:57:28 I need to find this house. Do you know where it is?
00:57:36 Paradise.
00:57:44 [♪♪♪]
00:57:47 [♪♪♪]
00:57:49 Good morning.
00:58:02 Can I help you?
00:58:03 I'm here to see your boss.
00:58:04 No boss.
00:58:05 You're doing nothing wrong here.
00:58:14 I push one button and 30 agents will be here
00:58:16 before you have time to scratch your worthless balls.
00:58:18 Now stop jerking around before I close you down
00:58:20 for wasting my time.
00:58:21 Wait here.
00:58:28 That weapon?
00:58:43 You're holding it.
00:58:45 Black, I'm unsure what you're doing here.
00:58:47 I'm here to see your boss.
00:58:49 I'm here to see my boss.
00:58:51 I'm here to see my boss.
00:58:53 I'm here to see my boss.
00:58:55 I'm here to see my boss.
00:58:57 I'm here to see my boss.
00:58:59 I'm here to see my boss.
00:59:01 I'm here to see my boss.
00:59:03 I'm here to see my boss.
00:59:05 I'm here to see my boss.
00:59:07 I'm here to see my boss.
00:59:09 I'm here to see my boss.
00:59:11 I'm here to see my boss.
00:59:13 Black, one sugar, please.
00:59:15 What is it you want?
00:59:24 I'm here to negotiate the rates.
00:59:26 We already negotiated the rate with Mr. McCann.
00:59:29 Mr. McCann has moved to another division.
00:59:32 I'm here for the renegotiation.
00:59:35 Unless you think I'm being unreasonable,
00:59:41 we can explain ourselves.
00:59:43 Nice coffee.
00:59:45 We have you under satellite surveillance 24 hours a day.
00:59:48 We hear everything you say, we know everything you do.
00:59:51 Do you have any idea what it costs
00:59:54 just to change the angle of the lens
00:59:56 on a satellite orbiting 200 miles above the Earth?
00:59:59 And those costs have gone up.
01:00:01 Our costs go up, your costs go up.
01:00:03 It's only logical.
01:00:05 By the way, which one of you is Marco?
01:00:07 Why do you want to know?
01:00:09 I was told Marco is in charge.
01:00:11 We are all Marco.
01:00:13 Marco from Trubuia.
01:00:15 We're all from Trubuia.
01:00:17 If that's the game you want to play,
01:00:21 the rate just went up 10%.
01:00:23 Mister, if you're trying to make extortion on us
01:00:25 because we're immigrants, we know the law.
01:00:27 I'm extorting you because you are breaking the law.
01:00:30 Now, which charge would you like to be arrested for?
01:00:32 Drugs, kidnapping, prostitution?
01:00:34 Take your pick.
01:00:36 You come to this country, take advantage of the system,
01:00:38 and think because we are tolerant,
01:00:40 we are weak and helpless.
01:00:42 Your arrogance offends me.
01:00:44 And for that, the rate just went up 10%.
01:00:47 Now, you want to get down to business
01:00:49 or do you want to keep playing?
01:00:51 How much?
01:00:53 20%, and you have my word it'll not go up for a year.
01:00:57 I'll look up Oakland.
01:01:05 How do you say "sugar" in your language?
01:01:08 "Sze-tze."
01:01:11 "Sze-tze."
01:01:13 You made a very good investment, gentlemen.
01:01:24 See you in a month.
01:01:26 Oh.
01:01:29 A friend gave this to me. It's Albanian.
01:01:32 You mind translating it?
01:01:34 No.
01:01:36 Good luck.
01:01:42 Good luck.
01:01:49 Good luck.
01:01:51 Good luck.
01:01:53 [woman screams]
01:02:02 You don't remember me?
01:02:04 We spoke on the phone two days ago.
01:02:07 I told you I would find you.
01:02:12 [man groans]
01:02:15 [man shouts]
01:02:25 [man shouts]
01:02:31 [gunshots]
01:02:33 [man shouts]
01:02:35 [man shouts]
01:02:40 [gunshots]
01:02:44 [man shouts]
01:02:47 [gunshots]
01:02:50 [gunshots]
01:02:52 Kim.
01:03:18 [door opens]
01:03:20 [door closes]
01:03:25 [door closes]
01:03:28 [man coughs]
01:03:35 [door opens]
01:03:37 [door closes]
01:03:42 [door opens]
01:04:03 [door closes]
01:04:05 Wake up!
01:04:11 I need you to be focused.
01:04:13 [man screams]
01:04:15 Are you focused yet?
01:04:17 [man coughs]
01:04:19 Where is this girl?
01:04:29 Where is she?
01:04:31 [man pants]
01:04:33 [man groans]
01:04:42 [man screams]
01:04:59 You know, we used to outsource this kind of thing.
01:05:03 But what we found was the countries we outsourced to had unreliable power grids.
01:05:07 Very third world.
01:05:09 Sometimes you'd turn on a switch and the power wouldn't come on for hours.
01:05:12 And then temperatures would get short.
01:05:14 People would resort to things like pulling fingernail acid drips on bare skin.
01:05:18 The whole exercise would become counterproductive.
01:05:21 But here, the power is stable.
01:05:23 Here there's a nice even flow.
01:05:25 Here you can flip a switch and the power stays on all day.
01:05:29 Where is she?
01:05:35 [man screams]
01:05:41 [man screams]
01:05:45 [man groans]
01:05:47 [man groans]
01:05:49 I don't have any more time to waste.
01:05:57 Marco from Tropolla.
01:05:59 You either give me what I need or this switch will stay on
01:06:02 until they turn the power off for lack of payment on the bill.
01:06:05 Where is my daughter?
01:06:08 Stokey Pearson's.
01:06:10 I was selling.
01:06:12 She was Pearson. A lot of money.
01:06:14 You sold my daughter. You sold her.
01:06:17 Huh? To who?
01:06:19 [man mumbles]
01:06:21 What?
01:06:26 St. Clair. St. Clair.
01:06:28 St. Clair. St. Clair. Is that a person? A place?
01:06:31 [man mumbles]
01:06:33 Where can I find him?
01:06:40 [man mumbles]
01:06:43 I don't know. I don't know.
01:06:45 I don't know. Please!
01:06:47 I don't know! I don't know!
01:06:49 No! Please!
01:06:51 Please! Please.
01:06:53 Not now. Please.
01:06:56 I believe you.
01:06:58 But it's not going to save you.
01:07:03 [man screams]
01:07:06 [car engine starts]
01:07:08 [man speaks French]
01:07:20 [children speak French]
01:07:22 Look who drove by.
01:07:28 Brian.
01:07:31 What a pleasant surprise.
01:07:33 The children waited up for you.
01:07:35 If you tuck them in, maybe we can eat before everything gets cold.
01:07:39 Brian, will you do the honors? Sure.
01:07:41 I'll be just a minute.
01:07:43 [man speaks French]
01:07:45 [man speaks French]
01:07:47 [man speaks French]
01:07:49 [man speaks French]
01:07:55 [door opens]
01:07:57 I was just telling Brian how nice it's been
01:08:16 since you left the old job for the new one.
01:08:18 Home every night for dinner, get to see the kids more.
01:08:21 Yeah. It's been nice coming home every night,
01:08:23 seeing your kids, knowing they're safe.
01:08:25 Brian has been thinking about relocating.
01:08:27 Really? Yes.
01:08:29 To Paris. He's been visiting houses.
01:08:31 White or dark meat? Dark.
01:08:33 Did you find anything interesting?
01:08:35 As a matter of fact, I did.
01:08:37 Over in the 10th arrondissement on Rue Paradis.
01:08:39 The people there know someone that works in your office, I think.
01:08:42 A Mr. Macan. You know him?
01:08:44 Oh, Henry. I call him Mr. Nervous.
01:08:46 Always seems like he's about to have a problem.
01:08:49 Carrots?
01:08:51 I got to the bottom of it, Jean-Claude.
01:08:53 I know everything.
01:08:55 I hope you're not involved in this shit.
01:08:58 What shit?
01:09:00 This is not the time or place, Brian.
01:09:02 Are you involved? Involved in what?
01:09:04 What are you two talking about?
01:09:06 Are you? My salary is X.
01:09:08 My expenses are Y.
01:09:10 As long as my family is provided for,
01:09:12 I do not care where the difference comes from.
01:09:15 That is my entire involvement.
01:09:17 And what about my family?
01:09:19 I would have you as long as it didn't cause trouble for me.
01:09:22 Who is Patrice Sainclair?
01:09:24 I don't know. I don't care.
01:09:26 I am driving you to the airport.
01:09:28 Jean-Claude!
01:09:30 Let's get going. Dinner is over.
01:09:32 I'm not finished yet.
01:09:34 Yes, you are.
01:09:36 Then why not?
01:09:38 That's what happens when you sit behind a desk.
01:09:43 You forget things.
01:09:45 Like the weight in the hand of a gun that's loaded and one that's not.
01:09:49 Isabel!
01:09:50 Salco!
01:09:51 It's a flesh wound.
01:09:53 But if you don't get me what I need,
01:09:55 the last thing you'll see before I make your children orphans
01:09:57 is the bullet I put between her eyes.
01:09:59 Now, Patrice Sainclair!
01:10:01 You could have made this much less painful
01:10:16 if you had been more concerned about my daughter
01:10:18 and less concerned about your goddamn desk.
01:10:20 Please apologize to your wife for me.
