00:00 >> Tell me about getting on the field for the Huskies.
00:04 >> Yeah, it was really cool.
00:05 I guess that's kind of it.
00:09 >> I know football is football, but
00:10 was it any different from what you've done before?
00:12 >> The atmosphere for sure.
00:14 >> Yeah? >> The atmosphere is way different.
00:15 >> You guys maybe a little bigger too?
00:17 >> Yeah. >> Pushing on each other?
00:18 >> Yeah, but yeah, I would just say the atmosphere is a lot different and
00:21 then obviously the moment.
00:24 >> How many plays did you get?
00:25 Did you hear?
00:25 >> Four.
00:26 >> Four? >> Yeah.
00:27 >> Okay.
00:28 >> It looked like you were pushing pretty good coming off that edge.
00:30 I know you didn't bring them down yet, but.
00:33 >> It's all right.
00:34 >> Yeah, so they're gonna just keep growing on that, is that the plan?
00:37 >> I have no idea.
00:38 No comment on that.
00:39 >> Yeah, so coming out of Minnesota as a quarterback and
00:43 then to Sioux Falls as a tight end and now you're here in Houston.
00:48 You're gonna play for a national championship.
00:49 You must be kind of dazed by this a little bit almost, right?
00:55 >> It's a little crazy.
00:56 I've been around the team all year, so it's not that insane.
00:59 But every time I think about it, playing for
01:02 a natty, it's pretty special.
01:04 >> Were there other FBS teams that tried to get a handle on you besides Washington?
01:10 >> Yeah, there was a handful.
01:12 It was pretty crazy in the portal.
01:13 >> Can you name a few of those who figured you out?
01:15 >> A few, some of the top ones were Minnesota, Iowa State, and obviously-
01:20 >> All in the region right there where you're from.
01:22 >> Starting a lot of Pac-12 after Washington.
01:25 >> Yeah, and how are you handling living out on the West Coast?
01:28 I know you've moved to South Dakota to play football, but
01:31 you're a couple of time zones from where you're comfortable or
01:35 at least where you were raised.
01:36 How is that for you?
01:38 >> I really like it.
01:40 No more snowy winters.
01:42 That's the good part.
01:43 >> Just wait.
01:45 >> I mean, people say it snows, but it's nothing like back home.
01:49 But I really like it.
01:51 It's beautiful out here in the summers and stuff.
01:52 >> It sounds like you've made a hit with this program because the coaches and
01:58 the players have been really supportive of you getting your eligibility.
02:01 They all came out pretty public about it.
02:04 But they're disappointed on the appeals and
02:07 we're always talking on social media.
02:09 And so were some other guys that freed Durfee.
02:11 And that was kind of interesting because I don't know how quickly you can learn,
02:17 meet guys and get to know them after just a few months.
02:21 So obviously you made an impression on everybody where they're standing up for
02:25 you.
02:26 >> Yeah.
02:26 >> You agree with that?
02:28 >> Yeah, I would say I'm pretty good friends with everyone on the team.
02:31 I don't like big favorites and stuff.
02:33 I think everyone, I don't know, I'm a big fan of everyone on our team.
02:37 So I just try to be the best teammate I can be.
