00:00 The weather patterns are shifting.
00:02 For most of us, it's going to be a dry weekend.
00:05 Now, it's not completely dry this morning.
00:07 There's some outbreaks of rain here and there,
00:08 northeast England down towards the Midlands.
00:11 But it's fairly light and patchy,
00:12 nothing like the heavy, extensive rain
00:14 we had earlier in the week.
00:15 Some lively showers over Shetland.
00:17 They should be easing away.
00:19 And a few showers just drifting down
00:21 across the north and the east of Northern Ireland,
00:23 clipping West Wales and into Cornwall
00:25 and the Isles of Scilly.
00:26 But for many, it's dry, particularly in the west,
00:29 quite a lot of sunshine around.
00:31 Some fog patches around this morning.
00:32 And that fog could be slow to clear.
00:35 And if the fog does struggle to clear,
00:37 temperatures will struggle to get much above 2 or 3 degrees.
00:40 But where it brightens up, 5, 6, maybe 7, 8, 9
00:43 in the far southwest.
00:44 Feeling colder than recent days, particularly in the east
00:47 if you're stuck under that zone of cloud.
00:50 As we go through this evening, where
00:51 we've got the clear skies, we'll see the frost
00:53 returning pretty sharply.
00:55 We'll also see some fog thickening up once more
00:58 through the evening and overnight, becoming
01:00 more extensive, perhaps, than last night.
01:02 Still, the odd shower here and there.
01:04 Wherever we've got some potential for showers
01:06 with those temperatures dropping,
01:07 it may just turn a little bit icy.
01:09 But temperatures mostly getting down to freezing.
01:13 Certainly, in rural spots, towns and cities in the south
01:15 may just hover a little bit above.
01:17 But generally, a cold, frosty start to Sunday.
01:20 There will be a few fog patches around,
01:22 which will again be stubborn and slow to clear.
01:25 Still quite cloudy at times over central and eastern
01:28 England, but I'm hopeful that cloud will break up
01:30 a little bit more to reveal a bit more in the way of sunshine.
01:33 Notice this wind, though, picking up
01:34 coming in from the North Sea.
01:36 That will bring a real chill, I fancy,
01:39 across parts of East Anglia and along the southernmost counties
01:42 of England.
01:43 Elsewhere, the winds will be fairly light.
01:44 So if you get in the sunshine, it shouldn't feel too bad.
01:46 But the numbers will be down on where
01:48 they have been recently, peaking at, what, 3, 2, maybe 5,
01:51 6 degrees in the south.
01:53 So below average.
01:54 As I said, lower than recently.
01:56 And when you add on this wind, well,
01:58 that will feel pretty wicked on these eastern coasts.
02:01 Feels like temperature is much closer to freezing here.
02:04 So yes, you'll notice the plummeting temperatures
02:07 this weekend.
02:08 It is going to be a bit colder, but thankfully, it's
02:10 also going to be a lot drier.
02:11 The cold and dry weather may well last for most of next week.
