00:28 Number 10, Baxter Stockman versus Shredder and the Turtles,
00:32 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
00:34 - I used you, Shredder, to transform me
00:38 into this ultra cyborg you see before you,
00:41 a truly superior work of genius.
00:44 - The leader of the Foot Clan isn't exactly a great boss.
00:48 After Shredder subjected Baxter Stockman
00:50 to horrible physical and emotional punishments,
00:53 the scorned employee returned in an exosuit.
00:55 Since the advanced suit of armor
00:57 gave the scientist super strength, a huge arsenal,
01:00 and could recover from damage,
01:01 the Foot Clan leader couldn't take his employee down solo.
01:04 - But the time has come for you
01:06 to be re-educated in my brilliance.
01:08 (grunting)
01:11 - Shredder is ultimately forced to work
01:17 with the heroic Turtles and their mentor just to survive.
01:20 Baxter keeps the fight entertaining
01:22 by revealing new exosuit abilities at every turn.
01:25 And although Donatello ultimately secures the victory,
01:28 Shredder definitely helped give the heroes an edge.
01:31 Unfortunately for the heroes,
01:33 their partnership with the big bad ends
01:35 as soon as Baxter leaves the building.
01:37 - Now, where were we?
01:38 Oh, yes.
01:40 (screaming)
01:44 - Number nine, Mojo Jojo versus an alien invader,
01:47 the Powerpuff Girls.
01:48 When an alien enemy proves too much
01:50 for the Powerpuff Girls to handle,
01:52 they ask their rival Mojo Jojo for help.
01:54 - We need your help, Mojo.
01:57 - Me, help you?
01:58 Ha!
01:59 - Please, Mr. Mojo.
02:01 - He's initially more interested in complaining
02:03 about a stale baguette than stopping an invader.
02:06 But when Mojo Jojo sees people bowing to the alien tyrant,
02:09 the primate loses it.
02:11 The villain enters a powerful rage state
02:13 and knocks the giant extraterrestrial down a few pegs.
02:16 - You have broken my dreams!
02:21 (screaming)
02:24 - This battle also pays off a joke
02:26 by having Mojo Jojo deal a strong blow with a stale baguette.
02:30 While the fight is brief,
02:31 it does a great job establishing the primate
02:34 as a threat while making us laugh.
02:35 After this villainous beatdown,
02:37 it was clear why the funny Mojo Jojo
02:39 could match the Powerpuff Girls in a fight.
02:41 - You are the most evil!
02:43 And don't you forget it!
02:48 - Number eight, Skeletor and He-Man versus Evil-Lyn,
02:51 Masters of the Universe, Revelation.
02:53 (gunshots)
02:56 - I will get you for that!
03:00 - After the man behind He-Man
03:01 gets separated from his power sword,
03:03 the magical item falls in the hands of evil forces.
03:06 When the witch Evil-Lyn gets her hand on it,
03:08 her former boss Skeletor makes an alliance
03:11 with the hero to stop her.
03:12 - I can't believe I'm even saying this out loud.
03:16 If we work together, I can get us close to her.
03:20 - The bony big bad has to rely on a wide variety
03:23 of strong abilities just to keep up.
03:25 Every time Skeletor uses magic,
03:27 we're treated to gorgeous animation.
03:30 Additionally, it's ridiculously entertaining
03:32 to see him fight alongside the Eternia hero
03:35 that's given him so much grief.
03:37 The unlikely duo ultimately isn't strong enough
03:40 to beat Evil-Lyn in combat.
03:41 However, this battle won us over
03:44 with strong animation and a fun premise.
03:46 - I gave you all of this!
03:48 - I took all of this from you!
03:51 - Number seven, Omni-Man versus the Flaxens, Invincible.
03:55 - You don't seem to understand.
03:57 Earth isn't yours to conquer.
04:00 - Although we considered highlighting Nolan's season two
04:02 fight against his fellow Viltrumites,
04:04 he arguably stopped being a full-out villain by that point.
04:07 So we focused on a season one sequence
04:10 where Omni-Man was definitely a bad guy.
04:12 When an invading alien force tried to stake a claim on Earth,
04:15 Nolan quickly showed the villains
04:17 that they had come to the wrong planet.
04:19 - Are you okay, Mark?
04:21 (dramatic music)
04:23 - He easily tossed aside their general
04:27 and endured an army's worth of firepower
04:30 without getting so much as a scratch.
04:32 After striking fear into their hearts,
04:34 Omni-Man effortlessly killed a ton of soldiers.
04:38 Nolan then followed the aliens home, wrecked their cities,
04:41 and ultimately destroyed their entire planet.
04:44 Omni-Man's devastating win established
04:46 that neither heroes nor villains are safe from his wrath.
04:50 (laughs)
04:51 Thanks for the tip.
04:52 - You know, you have to be able to take a hit--
04:54 (explosion)
04:55 - Number six, Sportmaster duels Black Manta and Deathstroke.
05:00 Young Justice.
05:01 - And leave Black Manta to me.
05:03 I need to put him down to preserve my rep.
05:06 - Sportmaster once believed his daughter
05:08 had been killed by the sinister Black Manta's son.
05:10 Thirsty for revenge, the hockey mask-wearing big bad
05:13 launched an assassination mission.
05:15 Somehow, Sportmaster kept up with Black Manta's advanced suit
05:19 with nothing but his physical prowess
05:21 and sports-themed weapons.
05:23 Their one-on-one was so evenly matched
05:25 that we were on the edge of our seats
05:27 until it was cut short.
05:29 Before we had time to recover from that nail-biting battle,
05:32 Sportmaster got into another deadly duel with Deathstroke.
05:36 - Leaving so soon?
05:37 (dramatic music)
05:39 And without a goodbye.
05:42 - Once again, we were treated to tight fight choreography
05:45 and quick reversals until the last second of the bout.
05:48 We honestly think the Justice League
05:51 should consider recruiting Sportmaster
05:53 to take on more bad guys.
05:55 - You're a chump, Slade.
05:57 The light betrayed me, they'll betray you too.
05:59 - Not if I take a seat at their table.
06:01 - Number five, Magneto and Mystique
06:03 versus Apocalypse and his soldiers.
06:05 X-Men the animated series.
06:07 - You spoke of creating an alternate future
06:09 in which mutants would rule, as I have always dreamed.
06:12 - Then you were fool enough to believe me.
06:15 Strike him down, my horsemen.
06:18 - It looked like bad news for the Earth
06:20 after two of the world's strongest mutant villains
06:23 decided to team up.
06:24 However, it turned out Magneto was only pretending
06:27 to be loyal to Apocalypse.
06:29 As soon as the Master of Magnetism got an opening,
06:32 he and Mystique turned on the arch-villain.
06:34 - I call no one master, especially not one
06:38 who would destroy the innocent, alone with the guilty.
06:40 - The duel was so in sync
06:42 that they knocked the vastly more powerful Apocalypse
06:44 out of his own base.
06:46 But their victory was short-lived
06:48 because their rival had an army ready to take them down.
06:51 - We can't handle all of them.
06:52 - You are right.
06:53 We must try to free Wolverine and the Psychics.
06:56 - Although Magneto is pretty well known
06:58 for turning on other antagonists,
07:00 we still didn't see this great brawl coming.
07:02 The Master of Magnetism showed a would-be god
07:05 what a true villain looked like.
07:07 - I am going after Apocalypse.
07:10 - Do what you will, for I fear no one.
07:15 - Number four, Prince Zuko versus Admiral Zao.
07:18 Avatar, the last airbender.
07:20 - In his eyes, you are a failure
07:22 and a disgrace to the Fire Nation.
07:24 - That's not true.
07:25 - You have the scar to prove it.
07:27 - Oh, maybe you'd like one to match.
07:29 - The teenage prince of the Fire Nation
07:31 was not allowed to return home
07:33 unless he brought home the Avatar.
07:35 When a military man named Zao threatened
07:37 to keep the royal Zuko from continuing the search,
07:40 the young man challenged his elder to a sacred duel.
07:43 - I refuse to let him win.
07:44 - This will be over quickly.
07:49 - Their fiery fight is as beautiful as it is deadly.
07:52 Although the two enemies threw flames back and forth,
07:55 their bout felt grounded because their movements
07:58 were rooted in real martial arts styles.
08:00 While both characters were villains
08:02 at this point in the show,
08:03 we found ourselves rooting for the underdog Zuko.
08:06 It was extremely satisfying to see him
08:08 turn the tide of battle and walk away as the sole victor.
08:11 - That's it?
08:13 Your father raised a coward.
08:15 - Next time you get in my way, I promise I won't hold back.
08:19 - Number three, Doc Ock versus Silvermane
08:22 versus Tombstone versus Spider-Man.
08:25 The Spectacular Spider-Man.
08:27 A trio of New York's biggest crime bosses
08:30 decided to talk out their differences above an opera house.
08:33 Although they were aiming to make a truce,
08:36 Hammerhead managed to turn Doc Ock,
08:38 Silvermane, and Tombstone against each other.
08:40 - We were all betrayed by Hammerhead.
08:42 - Hammerhead is a stooge.
08:44 He doesn't blink without orders.
08:46 - Indeed, your denial lacks sincerity.
08:51 - It wasn't long before the trio got
08:52 into a dangerous three-way brawl
08:54 that threatened villains and bystanders alike.
08:57 While the slick action would have made this melee great
09:00 itself, Spider-Man's appearance really put it over the top.
09:03 - Two of my biggest enemies and this Jurassic jerk
09:06 are taking each other out,
09:07 and I'm trying to stop them, why?
09:08 (explosion)
09:11 (screaming)
09:12 Oh, right, public safety.
09:14 - The villains were torn between their desire
09:16 to squash the web head and to take each other out.
09:19 And did we mention that a classy opera score
09:22 played throughout the entire sequence?
09:25 The length of the villain battle, excellent choreography,
09:28 and surprising twist made it into a must-see melee.
09:32 - Thanks.
09:33 I'm sure this can't be what you had planned
09:34 for Valentine's Day.
09:36 - Number two, Lex Luthor's Legion
09:38 versus Gorilla Grodd's gang, Justice League Unlimited.
09:42 - I'd like to complete this transaction
09:44 with as little bloodshed as possible, Lex.
09:47 Now put your hands up and have Toy Man turn us around.
09:50 - While a group of villains were traveling through space,
09:52 they had to make a big choice,
09:54 side with Lex Luthor or Gorilla Grodd?
09:57 After every villain chooses, a fantastic brawl breaks out.
10:02 Seeing all of our favorite DC big bads clash on screen
10:05 was like watching a childhood dream come true.
10:08 Instead of rooting for a side,
10:10 we were just waiting to see what happened
10:11 when icons like Killer Frost fought mainstays like Toy Man.
10:15 The wild melee ended with a long-awaited one-on-one
10:18 between Luthor and Grodd.
10:19 - Give it up, Lex.
10:21 - You're only delaying the inevitable.
10:24 - You're right.
10:26 - Although the primate had the physical advantage,
10:28 even he couldn't beat Lex's intellect.
10:31 In terms of sheer numbers,
10:32 this civil war within the Legion of Doom
10:35 stands as one of the largest animated villain fights
10:37 in TV history.
10:39 - It could have gone the other way.
10:41 It really could have, couldn't it?
10:45 - No.
10:45 - But why speak ill of the dead?

11:34 the future emperor decided to put a permanent stop
11:37 to their ambitions.
11:38 - The first and only reality of the city.
11:40 There can only be two.
11:43 - Despite looking old, Palpatine had power needed
11:46 to duel two enemies at once.
11:48 He's the shining centerpiece
11:50 of jaw-dropping fight choreography
11:52 that makes lightsaber combat with dark side powers.
11:55 Darth Sidious also shakes up the show's story
11:58 by killing Savage Opress.
12:00 This dark duel's amazing visuals and impacting the plot
12:04 made it one of the most notable animated villain fights
12:06 of all time.
