Wales headlines 2 January: Storm Henk batters Wales

Homes around the country have been flooded, and damaged as storm Henk batters many parts of Wales. Heavy rain and winds have caused disruption to travel across the country, with some roads blocked due to trees falling down. An amber weather alert has been in place throughout Tuesday.

Cardiff is finally set to have a bus station after a 7 year delay to the original plans. A central station was set to open in 2017, but was pushed back after a new master plan, and then pandemic related issues arose. It is set to open in spring this year and will be situated on the site of the original station in central square.

Welsh leadership hopeful Jeremy Miles has pledged to review the 20 miles per hour speed limit change in his first week if he is elected as first minister. Vaughn Gething, the other candidate for the post also said he favoured a review of the law. The Welsh government have said the change has remained in continuous review.
