00:16With over 730 beds, a new emergency department, dedicated children's I&E and a maternity unit,
00:23the hospital will consolidate services from City Hospital and Sandwell General.
00:27Both existing hospitals will remain open for outpatients and die-case treatments, while
00:32Sandwell General will also become an urgent treatment centre.
00:36The project faced delays due to the collapse of the original contractor and rising costs,
00:41but staff now describe the new facility as brilliant.
00:44The additional space and modern design are expected to improve patients' care and speed
00:49up diagnostics.
00:51The hospital promises to deliver a better healthcare experience for the community when
00:55it finally opens its doors.
