00:00 Mario Cristobal pulled off the double flip. Armando Blunt is a Miami Hurricane. I am Alex
00:08 Dono from Locked on Canes. Thank you so much for making Locked on Canes your first listen
00:13 and your first watch each and every day. The timeline is insane, but the bottom line is
00:19 the Miami Hurricanes land one of the top defensive linemen in the class of 2024. Five star out
00:27 of Miami Central, Armando Blunt has flipped back from the Florida State Seminoles to the
00:34 Miami Hurricanes. Just for a quick refresher on the timeline, Blunt of course is someone
00:39 Miami has been heavily recruiting for several months, if not multiple years. Top defensive
00:47 linemen in Miami Central, which is the same school of course that Ruben Bain came out
00:52 of and had an incredibly productive true freshman season at Miami this past year. And Miami
00:57 were able to land Armando Blunt initially as a verbal commit back in mid-September.
01:03 At that time, Blunt, who's still a high school junior, was a class of 2025. He reclassified
01:11 a month later, but also flipped his commitment from Miami to Florida State. However, as we
01:18 often see from Mario Cristobal, the recruitment does not stop with a verbal commit elsewhere.
01:24 If you're a player that Miami covets, the same thing that happened with Justin Scott,
01:29 who was committed to Ohio State and Miami flipped a couple of weeks ago, and with Jordan
01:33 Lyle, four star running back who was committed to Ohio State and Miami flipped a couple of
01:38 days ago, Hurricanes did not give up on those players despite commitments elsewhere, and
01:43 they didn't give up on Armando Blunt as well. The relationship between Armando and defensive
01:50 line coaches at Miami, Joe Salavea and Jason Taylor, has been excellent. Hurricane staffers
01:55 recently had a very productive in-home visit with Armando Blunt. And then probably the
02:01 smoking gun happened this past weekend when Blunt was supposed to make an official visit
02:07 to Florida State a few days before presumably signing with the Seminoles. He canceled that
02:12 Florida State visit in favor of coming down to Miami for an official visit instead. That
02:18 seems to be when the Hurricanes sealed the deal to get Armando Blunt into this class
02:22 of 2025. And it's a big time verbal commitment, guys. He gives Miami their second five star
02:28 player in the class. And you like how both of those five star players are defensive linemen,
02:34 which is something Miami really needed. They had the top offensive line class, arguably
02:38 in America last year, pulling in two five stars on the O-line, getting in blue chip
02:43 defensive linemen. It's something Miami hasn't done consistently enough in recent years.
02:48 And Mario Cristobal comes away with arguably the best defensive line class in the country
02:53 this year. Armando Blunt is a Miami Hurricane. He made it official this evening, Wednesday
02:58 evening on National Signing Day. We'll keep you posted on everything else that happens
03:02 right here on allhurricanes.com and on Locked on Canes on the Locked on Podcast Network.
