00:00 Was it just on him?
00:01 It was.
00:02 I mean, it had been something that had been
00:08 stoked for a while, last couple of weeks,
00:10 and then, you know, other Russians have been also,
00:14 you know, dealing with the same thing.
00:15 I can only speak for myself, but, you know,
00:18 once you got, like, a whole, like, position,
00:21 you know, kind of fed up with how they're being treated,
00:24 you kind of know something's kind of off.
00:27 You know, you hoped that what you said
00:30 has an impact on the officials,
00:33 you know, you're worried that it could end the opposite.
00:35 Oh, man, it's what it is.
00:36 I mean, right now, I'm not getting any calls,
00:39 so I can't get my first or not.
00:41 But, I mean, I hope it has a positive effect.
00:43 No, I'm not trying to offend anybody.
00:46 I just want them to do their job best to their ability.
00:48 Same shame here.
00:50 [Indistinct]
00:54 I don't know. We'll get it out to the NFL.
00:58 Miles, Jim was talking to Ash Shule.
01:00 We're saying about the last drive,
01:02 he's never seen you rush as hard as you seem
01:06 like you were rushing that drive.
01:08 Can you just, you know, talk about that,
01:11 you know, that drive and everything last week?
01:16 Ah, you know, finally got into a rhythm
01:18 where it was like, I can pick up some speed.
01:21 I can go and despite a couple of chips every now and then,
01:26 I felt like I could finally do what I wanted to.
01:29 Like, I had that beat.
01:30 And I was also kind of [Indistinct]
01:33 what's going on, so I had to add a little extra boot.
01:38 I just wanted to make the play to win the game.
01:39 So, it was a little bit late, but I got it done.
01:44 Miles said, you know, getting hurt,
01:47 elbows hurt, just the, you know, how big of a loss is that?
01:52 Not only just for you guys, but what they do to help you.
02:01 I mean, it's an awesome.
02:04 Like you said, more ways to win.
02:05 They're good men, good people, good leaders as well.
02:10 They've been great teammates in their time here.
02:12 I look forward to them coming back
02:14 and being around in any capacity they can.
02:17 But, I mean, their presence won't go unnoticed.
02:21 Those guys are dynamic.
02:23 They'll make some big plays for us.
02:24 But we'll just have to step up in other ways.
02:27 You know, guys like myself, C, Jordan,
02:30 Dallavon, all these guys, we'll have to step up
02:32 and try to elevate ourselves
02:38 to replace what they had going.
02:39 And so...
02:41 We'll bring some of the guys.
02:42 When he turns up, you know, we're going to see him.
02:44 He's just so energetic and boisterous.
02:47 He's got a great personality.
02:48 What do you bring to the room to see him?
02:50 You know, what do you have in mind?
02:52 I mean, it was a positive atmosphere
02:53 every time he arrived.
02:55 Whatever you see him, always smiling.
02:56 He's always happy, optimistic, and that kind of thing.
03:01 I can't just disappear now that he's gone.
03:03 We got to continue to carry that.
03:04 But he also got energy, had passion, had fire.
03:09 We have to keep those attributes going for ourselves.
03:13 It seems like the last couple of weeks,
03:14 it's gone from more of the tight end chipping you
03:17 to all those staying in on the pass games to Broncos.
03:22 Is that kind of new?
03:24 I think Pittsburgh kind of has done a lot of tight ends.
03:26 Pittsburgh, Jets, Titans, not exactly new.
03:31 It's just more often.
03:33 You know, the Broncos, the Rams a little bit.
03:38 So it's that.
03:39 It's the slide so that even if we're not beat the tight end,
03:43 tackle oversets, I can't really get inside tackle.
03:47 I have to run the long throw.
03:48 I have to go power like this.
03:50 They're making it tricky.
03:52 They're trying to make me get creative out there.
03:54 But it's not just me out there.
03:56 We've got a bunch of guys who can make plays.
04:00 I got to put in this matchup.
04:01 I can make him right and find a way to close many gaps.
04:04 I'll do that.
04:05 But that's just an opportunity for us to be great.
04:09 [inaudible]
04:24 I still remember ref.
04:27 Not naming any names or the game,
04:29 but I remember I was fighting through a double team
04:31 and I might have had a little necktie around me a little bit.
04:37 But I was still able to get to the quarterback.
04:40 He got it off.
04:42 And I looked at the ref and I was like,
04:45 I wanted to call it, but it seemed like you're fighting through it.
04:47 I said, I don't know what that means.
04:49 I didn't know it stopped being a penalty there.
04:52 But yeah, they treat it a little bit differently
04:55 when it's a double team.
04:57 But it's all you.
04:58 [inaudible]
05:12 I mean, him and that, I can tell you all.
05:15 His timing, his pocket presence,
05:18 figuring out what he needs to run when he's fast
05:21 and looking at his feet.
05:24 He doesn't cheat.
05:25 He's going to use his legs.
05:27 I mean, last time we played, he wasn't really--
05:29 he was trying to stay in the pocket,
05:31 kind of deliver passes.
05:32 I don't think he really had the timing down,
05:34 knowing that when that internal clock is going,
05:36 especially with good rushing on the other side,
05:38 now he kind of has that feel.
05:39 It's like, all right, it's not here, there.
05:42 Let me use my ability and get out of it.
05:46 [inaudible]
05:49 It looks like it's really good.
05:51 Does he feel like that's an extra kind of dimension?
05:55 I mean, it's always been like that.
05:57 He's strong.
05:59 And he binds me, personally, like athletically,
06:03 like J.F. Hurts.
06:04 So it will be difficult to take down,
06:06 but that's the way to take someone down.
06:09 The easy way is take the ball from them.
06:11 Has something changed for the home run offensively?
06:14 Like, as you went through your study
06:16 and evaluation of them this week,
06:18 you've been going three to four.
06:20 They seem to be coming together a little bit.
06:24 Has it changed something recently
06:26 that you guys have to be cognizant of?
06:29 Taking the ball away at a higher clip
06:31 and take down the ball.
06:34 He's been doing a great job keeping defense on balance
06:38 with a good hard count running attack.
06:41 It's been working for him.
06:43 So not allowing them to get into a lot of drop back situations,
06:46 not getting to second and longs.
06:49 Just keeping a medical distance
06:51 and nothing too difficult or complicated.
06:55 So it's a good way to play.
06:57 [inaudible]
07:08 It's how the way it counts.
07:09 I can't look for the rule to be changed for me.
07:13 It is what it is.
07:14 I don't understand why it doesn't,
07:16 seeing as the points count.
07:18 But, you know, if the points don't count,
07:20 apparently everything else that happened on play just disappeared.
07:24 It is what it is.
07:26 So it's a streak.
07:27 A streak is what it is.
07:29 We won last game.
07:31 Had a positive effect.
07:33 We were disruptive.
07:34 And guys all across the field may play with my defense.
07:38 In games, have career games.
07:41 You know, DT's played well.
07:43 Z got a shot.
07:45 I mean, stuff like that, that makes me happier
07:49 and I'm doing my own personal stats.
07:52 I want to see my team thrive, my defense thrive.
07:54 If I can get mine on the way, that's just cherry on top.
07:58 [inaudible]
08:09 As far as just taking a different kind of role,
08:15 I got to trust my guys, their decision-making,
08:19 kind of put it a little bit in our hands,
08:21 but encouraging us to be the best that we can be.
08:26 That sounds like something a coach shouldn't always do,
08:30 should and always does.
08:32 But it hits a little bit different when your back's against the wall
08:36 in the game, like the third short situation,
08:39 it's like, should we go for it?
08:41 And he comes to his guys, he's like, "You all want to do this?"
08:43 He takes our lead, he takes our opinion into matter.
08:47 He comes to us on defense, he asks what we're thinking,
08:51 what kind of rush we're working, how to get you open,
08:54 stuff like that.
08:55 He's really been a real advocate for us
09:00 and stuff like that goes a long way.
09:02 Is that a little different than how it was before?
09:04 I mean, he's always been for us, but I feel like he,
09:08 just like we elevate and mature and take it to another level,
09:11 I thought we can too.
09:13 Miles, you've since come here wanting to win worse than anyone.
09:18 Just what's it mean to be in the hunt right now,
09:22 control your own destiny and play meaningful football
09:25 here in the market this year?
09:28 Just nice playing meaningful football this time of year.
09:34 Nine to five sounds nice, especially when you put it together.
09:37 I'll be down in a couple of days.
