00:00 You can find the best palak during the winter season.
00:03 It's green, it's fresh,
00:05 and that's why we're going to use it
00:07 to make palak cheela today.
00:08 Let's see how to make it.
00:10 This quick and simple recipe is a great way
00:12 to include palak in your diet.
00:14 It is rich in multiple vitamins and minerals
00:18 and is great for your skin, hair, and bones.
00:20 Let's start by preparing our batter.
00:22 I'm going to add palak to a bowl.
00:25 This is clean and chopped half bunch of palak leaves
00:29 along with one chopped onion
00:31 and 3/4 of a chopped tomato.
00:33 I'm going to flavor this
00:35 with ginger, garlic, and chili paste, one teaspoon,
00:38 adding in 1/4 teaspoon of haldi,
00:41 one teaspoon of red chili powder.
00:43 You can add more or less as per your taste.
00:46 One teaspoon of coriander powder and salt to taste.
00:50 One tablespoon of rice flour,
00:53 which is going to make it nice and crispy as we cook it.
00:56 Two tablespoons of oat flour and four tablespoons of besan.
01:00 You can also use whole wheat flour here if you want.
01:04 We're going to mix and massage this with our hands.
01:07 The palak and tomatoes are going to leave out
01:09 a lot of their moisture,
01:11 so this step is really important to do with your hands.
01:15 Instead of besan, you can also use jawar flour,
01:18 bajra flour, ragi flour.
01:20 The recipe is pretty flexible that way.
01:22 Once you feel like the moisture
01:24 is completely out of the palak,
01:26 we'll start adding a little water at a time
01:29 to convert this into a batter.
01:32 Let's check the consistency.
01:38 This looks perfect.
01:41 We're going to cook this on a hot tawa
01:44 with a little bit of oil.
01:52 Spread it around into a thin pancake
01:55 and continue cooking this on medium to low flame.
02:02 Once the cheela starts drying up from the top,
02:05 add a little bit of oil and flip it over.
02:07 And we'll let it cook from the other side.
02:13 Flip and cook it until it's golden brown
02:15 and crispy from both sides.
02:17 Let's check the other side.
02:19 Looks like it's done.
02:22 This side is also crispy.
02:24 Let's take it out on a plate.
02:26 In the same way, I'm going to make the next one.
02:33 Our crispy and delicious palak cheela is ready to serve.
02:47 Enjoy it with a spicy mint chutney,
02:50 ketchup or any other pickle of your choice.
02:53 It's super simple to make
02:54 and you can include this not only in your breakfast
02:57 but in any of your other meals.
02:59 Give this recipe a try and I'll see you next time.
