00:00 forecast for travel across the US.
00:01 Tomorrow meantime,
00:02 if you're traveling between
00:03 Denver and Albuquerque,
00:04 you got big problems,
00:06 especially into the mountains of New Mexico.
00:07 The Texas Panhandle.
00:08 We're going to have some issues there.
00:10 Also South Florida.
00:11 Heavy rain is in the forecast for you.
00:13 There could be some flooding.
00:15 Very windy conditions to this
00:16 wind advisory for Miami,
00:17 so those are a couple of the areas
00:19 that we're going to be watching for sure.
00:21 And if you look at that storm that's
00:24 rolling right now through the
00:25 southwestern Plains Albuquerque,
00:26 you're on the edge of that.
00:27 There'll be some minor delays
00:29 with rain and snow.
00:30 Mixing together for you into the
00:31 northwest on the I-5 corridor
00:33 cities of Portland and Seattle.
00:34 We've got rain in the forecast for both of you.
00:37 Nothing you probably can't handle,
00:38 but there could be some minor
00:40 delays with a little bit of rain.
00:42 Meantime,
00:42 across the upper Midwest Northern Plains,
00:44 you are far enough removed from that
00:46 storm that your conditions are looking
00:48 a OK as we just mentioned, though.
00:50 If you're in northwest Kansas,
00:51 there's some freezing rain out there
00:53 that could impact your travel early
00:55 morning tomorrow trying to drive around.
00:56 Meantime,
00:57 into the Red River Valley South
00:58 toward the Texas and Louisiana coast.
01:00 The weather looks good for tomorrow.
01:02 Yeah, East Texas is dry on Thursday,
01:04 but East Texas will be wet on Friday,
01:07 including Dallas and Houston.
01:08 Now here's the issues we have in Florida
01:10 from Jacksonville all the way to Miami.
01:12 We have a coastal flood advisory.
01:14 We also have a wind advisory,
01:16 so one of the worst beach days
01:18 you're going to ever have here.
01:20 Across the Sunshine State and also
01:21 there could be some flash flooding as
01:24 well with some heavier downpours.
01:25 Meantime, if we look at the forecast
01:27 for the lower Great Lakes, the Midwest,
01:29 things are pretty quiet out there.
01:31 Also in the Northeast,
01:32 the only really concerned here is
01:34 if you're in Oneida County,
01:35 NY, north of Syracuse.
01:36 You had about 10 inches of snow,
01:38 so drive carefully. Jeff.
01:39 Alright Kevin,
01:40 well with the holiday season in full swing,
01:42 many may be taking flights
01:44 to visit family or friends.
01:46 Christina shall hoop has more on
01:47 what travelers need to know before
01:49 they get to the airport.
01:51 2nd,
01:52 airports are getting busier and busier,
01:59 and more people means longer lines.
02:01 Airlines are encouraging passengers
02:03 to get to the airport at least two
02:06 hours early for domestic flights and
02:08 three hours early for international
02:09 flights. Get there early, plan ahead,
02:11 have a backup plan and be patient.
02:14 I think those are just the most
02:16 important things for travelers to
02:17 keep in mind. The time of day you
02:20 travel is also key to reducing delays.
02:22 One of the things travelers should
02:24 think about doing is booking the
02:25 first flight out if they can.
02:27 And that is of course the least likely
02:29 to be affected by delays or cancellations,
02:32 especially as you.
02:32 You have less recourse for getting
02:34 out there if there are cancellations
02:36 and delays regardless of the cause.
02:38 It's also important to pay attention
02:40 to what sort of ticket you're
02:41 purchasing. Be mindful of cancellation
02:43 and rebooking policies.
02:44 Travelers still need to be really
02:46 careful about booking flexible plans.
02:48 Checking in before arriving
02:49 to the airport only bringing carry
02:51 on luggage and using TSA pre check
02:53 or clear can reduce the time it takes
02:56 to get to your gate and on your way.
