00:16 The Philippines' sales of Php 1.1 billion doubled in the China International Import Expo in Shanghai, China.
00:28 It's almost half the total compared to the Php 655 million of the previous year
00:35 and is considered the largest sales of the Philippines since it became a CIIA in 2018.
00:42 According to the Department of Trade and Industry,
00:44 it includes the Php 900 million worth of purchase agreements
00:49 and more than Php 226 million worth of hook sales,
00:53 negotiation sales, retail sales, and business matching activities with a total contribution of Php 3.4 million.
01:02 Among the food products most sold in the so-called Import Expo are bananas, specialty coffee, pineapples,
01:09 and the highlight of the year, the Philippine durian.
01:12 According to DTI Undersecretary Seferino Rodolfo,
01:16 the investments from the CIIE will pave the way for more jobs for Filipinos and a more prosperous economy in the Philippines.
01:26 He noted the importance of the Philippines' continuous investment in the CIIE,
01:31 especially the government's target to expand the bilateral trade relationship with China and abroad.
01:38 In addition, many Chinese buyers are showing interest in agri-products and food products from the Philippine pavilion.
01:46 For the Expo this year, 16 exhibitors from the Philippines brought their own products,
01:52 including coffee, coconut products, processed food products, fresh banana, seafood, and durian.
