00:00 Miami seven and five.
00:01 I've seen a lot of links to that Tony,
00:03 the Tiger Sun Bowl in El Paso,
00:05 where Miami seems to go.
00:06 I've seen a link to the military bowl, Gasparilla Bowl.
00:10 What do you, where, first of all,
00:11 where Rudy, do you think Miami ends up?
00:14 - We're not going to El Paso,
00:15 because the only time Miami goes to El Paso
00:17 is when they fire their head coach.
00:19 - Yeah.
00:20 - Every single time.
00:21 Every single time.
00:22 Al Golden was in the commentary box
00:24 when they fired Randy Shannon against Notre Dame.
00:27 Then Mark Richt was in the commentary box
00:29 when they fired Al Golden.
00:30 And then Mario Cristobal was there for the Sun Bowl.
00:33 So like, I don't think we're going to El Paso.
00:36 I don't know.
00:38 I guess we don't have a connection to Shreveport anymore
00:40 'cause I know that we usually end up there.
00:41 It's like a lower tier game.
00:43 - I don't know about that.
00:43 I don't, I always, the tie-ins always confuse me,
00:47 especially with all the conference realignment.
00:49 I don't know who goes to what.
00:50 I just know Sun Bowl, there is still a tie-in.
00:52 - Yeah, and then I don't know
00:54 if the pinstripe bowl is still a thing or not.
00:57 I was, that was miserable.
00:58 I went to that game against Wisconsin.
01:00 It wasn't so much that the game was miserable,
01:02 but for anybody who, if you're planning on going,
01:06 don't get the seats closest to the field
01:08 'cause that's a baseball stadium
01:10 and the sight line is not the same.
01:13 - See, if you had been on the Game Time app
01:15 and you could look at your seat view, you would have known.
01:18 - I saw when you did this.
01:19 That was a great plug for showing
01:20 how you could see your seat view.
01:22 (laughing)
01:23 And if the code doesn't work, try it in all caps,
01:25 just in case.
01:26 - Yeah, that's right.
01:27 That's right.
01:28 And so possible opponents,
01:31 like the one that would excite me and most of you the most
01:35 because they just never play each other would be USC.
01:38 It is a possibility.
01:39 It looks like both teams probably will have
01:41 seven and five records,
01:43 even though you may not actually see Caleb Williams
01:45 because there's a pretty good chance
01:47 he opts out of that bowl.
01:48 I don't know why he would play in the Sun Bowl or whatever,
01:51 but Miami versus USC,
01:52 regardless of who the quarterbacks are,
01:54 that would be exciting to me.
01:56 - Utah has been thrown around a lot as a potential opponent.
02:00 I think that would be pretty cool.
02:02 I think it was off air we were talking about,
02:03 hey, Cristobal, Cam McCormick versus Utah.
02:06 There's a lot of history there.
02:08 - Yeah, Coach Cristobal would be foaming at the mouth
02:10 to play Utah again,
02:11 just because of what Utah gave Oregon in his last year,
02:15 even his last couple of years,
02:16 because I think he beat Cristobal either two or three
02:19 in a row to keep them from the Pac-12 title.
02:22 And just talk about physical style of football
02:25 and two guys that want to out-physical each other
02:27 with their teams, that's Utah and that's Cristobal
02:30 with first Oregon and now Miami.
02:32 So I think both would be really great matchups.
02:34 I would love to play USC.
02:36 One is somebody who always liked watching USC.
02:39 For a while, I thought they were kind of like
02:40 the Miami of the West
02:42 when it came to how much they were hated
02:43 in some of their more successful years
02:45 at Matt Leiner, Reggie Bush, Len Dale White,
02:47 and all of those guys.
02:48 But I would love to play them because, I mean,
02:52 granted, even if you don't see Caleb Williams,
02:56 as Rocky likes to say, their defense isn't quite that good,
02:59 but we're also probably not going to see our best offense.
03:03 Will we talk about later, see what happens in that?
03:05 I think it's just an interesting matchup
03:06 because these bowl games,
03:07 it can only give you momentum going into the off season
03:10 to work with.
03:11 And if you could say also,
03:13 you're coaching against Lincoln Riley,
03:15 who's probably been one of the biggest winners
03:17 of the transfer portal.
03:19 You didn't really see the success this year.
03:20 You saw it last year with their team
03:22 and how much they turned over the roster,
03:23 like 50% or something like that, or 45%.
03:26 I think there's a recruiting aspect in playing USC
03:29 to say, look what we're doing with our freshmen.
03:32 Again, it's kind of like the same narrative
03:33 with Florida State,
03:34 but against another national power that has had,
03:37 granted, they don't have the success this year
03:39 with their record, but when USC is good,
03:41 the spotlight is always on them.
