00:00:00 - Faithful. - Happy Thanksgiving.
00:00:01 - Joining us, we'll start with happy tidings
00:00:05 before we move into Jimmy's jiggling screen,
00:00:07 which is gonna drive people crazy if it keeps happening.
00:00:10 And then number two, there it is.
00:00:13 Jiggle it, Jimmy, just a little bit.
00:00:17 - Sorry.
00:00:18 Guys, just bear with me.
00:00:19 I'm, as you guys know, - He is a Costco.
00:00:21 - It's the holidays, I'm down in the mom's basement.
00:00:24 We have the year supply of paper towels
00:00:27 and I am on a very flimsy table.
00:00:29 So let's just leave it at that, let's move on.
00:00:30 - So, we'll start with the happy tidings
00:00:34 and the happy Thanksgiving to all.
00:00:36 I hope your pies were fruitful
00:00:39 and your crusts flaky.
00:00:42 Yep, they are. - Warm.
00:00:43 - But here, the Celtics,
00:00:48 whatever, Thanksgiving hangover, early game,
00:00:52 blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, doesn't matter.
00:00:54 I'm gonna ask you guys outright.
00:00:57 It's so easy as a Celtics fan to find the reasons
00:01:00 for why they lost.
00:01:01 Like, Holiday didn't play.
00:01:04 - Black Friday, man. - Porzingis, yeah.
00:01:06 - Were these guys in line all morning somewhere?
00:01:09 - Porzingis goes out with an injury.
00:01:10 We'll talk about that in a little bit
00:01:12 and see what the story is.
00:01:13 But, I mean, Bobby, I'm gonna say outright,
00:01:16 Celtics just got beat and Orlando was better,
00:01:20 more physical, tougher, all game long, start to finish.
00:01:24 (computer mouse clicking)
00:01:27 - Take your time with this one.
00:01:28 Take your time. - Bobby, Bobby, that's you.
00:01:30 - Yeah, I mean, you go down eight nothing on the boards
00:01:33 like you did in this game.
00:01:34 That's tough, the offensive rebounding there.
00:01:36 That's been a part of the Celtics' offensive scoring here.
00:01:39 They're steadily declining offensively.
00:01:41 I saw over the last, I think, 10 games
00:01:44 that Kirk Goldsberry does his thing
00:01:46 (computer mouse clicking)
00:01:47 at bottom half offensively, 17th over that stretch.
00:01:51 So, they're trending downward on that end of the four.
00:01:55 It doesn't help to lose Holladay, as you mentioned.
00:01:57 Doesn't help to lose Porzingis midway through this game.
00:02:00 But the interior play for Boston in this game, a big problem.
00:02:05 Their pick and roll coverage is lacked
00:02:07 throughout the second half against Mo Gagner there.
00:02:10 Some seriously bad finishing on the offensive end
00:02:14 the other way that I felt like killed their defense,
00:02:16 especially in the fourth quarter.
00:02:17 Some easy missed shots, key missed free throws late,
00:02:21 took them out of it.
00:02:22 And then the most disappointing part,
00:02:24 the differential is an important part
00:02:27 of this in-season tournament here.
00:02:29 And they basically just quit late and gave it up to Orlando
00:02:31 who wanted those points in the standings.
00:02:33 So, I don't like that either.
00:02:35 - Let's not pretend anybody's thinking about that
00:02:37 at any point in time during the game, for real.
00:02:39 - I mean, they should be.
00:02:40 - No, they're not.
00:02:41 Like, they're not.
00:02:42 - So, they should just not play the tournament
00:02:44 and not tie the win. - Start over.
00:02:46 - It's just a game.
00:02:47 For players, it's nice if you win.
00:02:50 Nobody is viewing this as anything
00:02:52 other than just another game on the calendar.
00:02:54 - All right, then they'll play Charlotte in a week or two
00:02:56 and skip it, if they don't care.
00:02:58 I mean, they're champions already, right?
00:02:59 They have the finals trophy,
00:03:01 so why would they care about the in-season tournament?
00:03:02 - It doesn't, 'cause it's not a real thing, okay?
00:03:05 'Cause it doesn't matter. - All right.
00:03:06 I guess the little things don't matter
00:03:08 on your way to a title.
00:03:09 - It doesn't mean anything to anybody.
00:03:12 It really doesn't.
00:03:13 - It should mean something to them.
00:03:15 - Why?
00:03:16 - Because they haven't won anything.
00:03:17 - Who cares?
00:03:18 This isn't anything.
00:03:20 This is the Flippity-Flu trophy.
00:03:20 - This isn't anything either, Bobby.
00:03:22 - Like, it's nothing.
00:03:23 - Bobby, if the Celtics win this--
00:03:24 - All you have to do is leave a window to win this thing
00:03:26 and you lose and you're just like,
00:03:28 "Whatever, it doesn't mean anything."
00:03:30 - It doesn't mean a thing.
00:03:32 It's just--
00:03:33 - Bobby, they're not gonna--
00:03:34 - It's just, let's try something different.
00:03:35 - They're not gonna hang a banner for it.
00:03:37 I hope to God, anyway.
00:03:38 - It's better that you win it than you don't.
00:03:41 And to not even be there,
00:03:42 when a team like Orlando or Brooklyn's gonna be there.
00:03:45 - Bobby, it's fine to win it on your way to winning a title.
00:03:50 If you don't win a title,
00:03:53 no one's gonna win the end season tournament
00:03:56 that all it did was--
00:03:56 - That's not what I'm saying.
00:03:58 - What are you saying?
00:03:59 - I'm saying that they should be trying to win this.
00:04:02 - They're trying to win the game,
00:04:04 but not because it's an end season tournament.
00:04:06 I don't really think enough is on the line.
00:04:08 - Yeah, exactly.
00:04:09 It doesn't mean, if they win, it'll be cool, we won.
00:04:14 But if they don't, it's just because they didn't win
00:04:16 these regular season games, which is what this was.
00:04:18 It was a regular season game against a team
00:04:22 that gives you trouble,
00:04:23 and that gave you a crap ton of trouble today.
00:04:25 And that's what matters more
00:04:27 than not being serious about a tournament game.
00:04:29 It's fine if they win it.
00:04:31 It's fine if they get serious late,
00:04:33 when it gets to the point--
00:04:34 - It's fine if they can make it rain in the club
00:04:36 the night they win it, and all that stuff.
00:04:38 - This was a game against a team
00:04:41 that just beat the crap out of them all game long,
00:04:43 and the Celtics looked bad.
00:04:44 They made the Celtics look bad tonight.
00:04:47 And you can talk about losing Porzingis, obviously, hurt,
00:04:50 because they just got cooked on the interior.
00:04:53 Al cannot defend bigs, obviously.
00:04:55 Luke Cornett cannot defend bigs.
00:04:57 So they just got whatever they wanted at the rim.
00:04:59 It was pathetic watching that, pathetic.
00:05:02 Both on the offensive glass, and those guys,
00:05:04 they just went at Luke time after time after time after time.
00:05:08 Celtics aren't built to do that.
00:05:10 And without Porzingis there,
00:05:11 to at least offer a little bit of token resistance,
00:05:14 they were just getting murdered in that end.
00:05:16 And then you have your two stars
00:05:17 that just played like ass again.
00:05:19 And that's what happened.
00:05:20 So, I mean, it's not that they get mad about it.
00:05:22 It's just, this was a game where they just,
00:05:25 they were bad.
00:05:26 They were just really, Orlando was much, much better.
00:05:29 - Came out looking good off the start,
00:05:34 and then, yeah, allowed the magic
00:05:36 to kind of instill their will a little bit on them.
00:05:38 And they played harder.
00:05:40 We said it a couple of games ago.
00:05:42 Whenever the Celtics lose,
00:05:43 it's going to be because the other team played harder
00:05:46 than they did.
00:05:48 It's not about talent.
00:05:49 It's about effort, and it's about energy,
00:05:52 all that stuff that it's going to take
00:05:54 to put you over the top.
00:05:55 If an opposing team comes in,
00:05:57 very rarely is it because they have more talent than you
00:06:00 that they're going to win.
00:06:01 It's going to be because they wanted it more,
00:06:03 worked harder, played harder, and were more physical,
00:06:06 made you uncomfortable.
00:06:07 Yeah, you lost Porzingis in the middle of the game.
00:06:09 We didn't have Holiday.
00:06:10 So we can't ignore those things, John.
00:06:12 Those things do exist,
00:06:14 but I still think you're good enough
00:06:16 to beat this Orlando Magic team,
00:06:17 but they won three out of the four quarters straight up.
00:06:19 Like, no contest, especially the fourth quarter.
00:06:22 You let Wagner run all over you.
00:06:24 Like, what's the excuse there?
00:06:27 I don't know.
00:06:31 - It's mismatches right now.
00:06:33 Like John said, you're going double big
00:06:34 for most of this game.
00:06:35 Franz plays offense more like a wing.
00:06:38 Boncaro plays offense more like a wing,
00:06:40 and they're able to pull those guys out
00:06:42 and get by them fairly easily,
00:06:43 which, especially with no rim protector back there
00:06:46 much of the game to help out,
00:06:49 you ended up killed there.
00:06:50 And if you weren't, if they didn't make the initial shot,
00:06:54 they were probably putting it back in.
00:06:55 I mean, late there, Ingles was crashing so hard
00:06:57 that it looked like he forced White
00:06:59 to tip it back in off the boards.
00:07:01 So this was the worst rebounding game this year.
00:07:03 That's becoming a little bit more of a problem here now.
00:07:06 Physicality-wise, they didn't handle
00:07:09 those big magic wings very well.
00:07:12 In fact, those guys bothered the Celtics wings offensively.
00:07:15 You saw Jalen complaining through this game
00:07:17 about contact and the paint.
00:07:18 You saw Jason diverted away from the rim by Franz Wagner,
00:07:23 who handled him really well.
00:07:24 - And by Isaac, who I thought-
00:07:26 - Isaac was great.
00:07:27 - Every time Isaac matched up on Tatum,
00:07:28 Tatum wasn't going anywhere.
00:07:31 He was really frustrated by him.
00:07:33 - Yeah, this is a team that matches up extremely well
00:07:35 with the Celtics, and it happened last year too,
00:07:37 winning three out of four.
00:07:38 So you expected this coming in,
00:07:40 and the losses that you suffered injury-wise in this one
00:07:42 only added to that misfortune.
00:07:44 But your shooting's down,
00:07:45 you missed open shots in the second half,
00:07:47 and you wonder how you're gonna make up for that,
00:07:49 as I often do with this team.
00:07:51 And they didn't make up for it in other areas,
00:07:55 again, in this game.
00:07:56 Like, what little things did Brown and Tatum do
00:07:57 in this game to bridge that gap?
00:07:59 Instead, the gap heightened as the second half went on.
00:08:03 So I don't like the way they fade from this game,
00:08:06 late tournament or not.
00:08:08 You had a chance there to pull within single digits
00:08:11 and get close late, and they went the other direction.
00:08:13 - They just weren't getting enough.
00:08:16 Again, I-
00:08:16 - This wasn't a 17-point game, John.
00:08:18 - I mean, this was a game that ended in the third quarter
00:08:23 when Orlando went on a 17-0 run
00:08:25 and then kept it double digits the rest of the way.
00:08:27 This is exactly what it was.
00:08:28 Like, it was a double-digit game.
00:08:30 It wasn't 17 in the sense that it got padded at the end.
00:08:33 The Celtics just got beat.
00:08:34 I mean, Orlando, between the third quarter run
00:08:37 and then in the fourth quarter,
00:08:39 when they got it up to 12-13, that's what this game was.
00:08:42 You know, that's what it was.
00:08:43 Celtics went up early.
00:08:45 Orlando took everything they had, came back,
00:08:47 made it a game, went on a couple runs.
00:08:49 That was it.
00:08:50 They just beat 'em flat.
00:08:52 I mean, Jalen Brown missed his last 13 freaking shots.
00:08:55 You know, like Porzingis goes out.
00:08:57 They had nothing going.
00:08:58 When they went to that bench lineup,
00:09:00 that second time through, they were dummy.
00:09:01 But the starters, Bobby, you said it.
00:09:03 That's about as bad a stint as you could play
00:09:05 with your starting lineup with what they did
00:09:07 in that third quarter when they went on that 17-0 run.
00:09:09 And I know we're gonna get to it.
00:09:12 There's a lot to get to between that,
00:09:15 between what you do with the bench situation,
00:09:17 and it's gonna come back to Joe a little.
00:09:22 I'm waiting on the Joe stuff
00:09:24 because I think all of us are in agreement
00:09:26 that players first, coach second.
00:09:29 But that timeout's gonna come into question,
00:09:31 and what's going on with the bench,
00:09:33 and having developed anybody who can play
00:09:36 outside of your top eight,
00:09:37 is something that a game like this really magnifies
00:09:41 how little you have there.
00:09:43 And Brissett, every time one of these guys plays,
00:09:45 Bobby, I never wanna see him again.
00:09:47 Banton, Brissett, I never wanna see those guys again.
00:09:50 I mean--
00:09:51 - Come on, Banton played the last second,
00:09:53 and he tried to score at the buzzer.
00:09:54 - I'm saying Banton's last stint,
00:09:56 he looked like he hadn't played basketball in seven years.
00:09:59 Brissett looks like he's never played basketball.
00:10:01 - I don't know what's going on with his shot.
00:10:02 - You can't put those guys out there,
00:10:04 let 'em play three minutes,
00:10:06 and then get 'em out of the game.
00:10:07 Like you just, but anyway.
00:10:09 - They have no choice.
00:10:10 - Talk about that third quarter, Bobby.
00:10:12 - Baffling.
00:10:13 I mean, and if you wanna go to the timeout thing,
00:10:17 you're coming out of halftime,
00:10:18 so you talk plenty in there.
00:10:19 You emphasize certain things after a first half
00:10:21 that wasn't very good.
00:10:23 And then to come out like that,
00:10:24 I think says all you need to know
00:10:26 about Joe's timeout philosophy.
00:10:28 Like what could he have said in a timeout
00:10:30 when that was at 10-0 or 12-0
00:10:33 after the take foul that they committed
00:10:36 after the turnover there?
00:10:38 Like what can you say?
00:10:39 - Does it matter what's said?
00:10:41 - I think that's what you're looking for.
00:10:44 Where they need a breather right out of halftime.
00:10:46 Like timeout things just become this magical thing
00:10:49 that's supposed to solve everything for them.
00:10:51 - It's not, but sometimes it's stop.
00:10:54 Everything is bad, stop.
00:10:58 Get back to what we're doing.
00:10:59 Just stop.
00:11:00 Everything is bad right now.
00:11:01 I don't like what I'm seeing.
00:11:03 Pull it together.
00:11:04 Like just stop.
00:11:06 Like stop doing what you're doing.
00:11:07 Did they learn a thing from that run?
00:11:10 Did one possession get any better than the other?
00:11:13 Did they improve themselves as it went along?
00:11:15 No.
00:11:16 So if they're not learning,
00:11:19 you have to figure out
00:11:20 that they're not learning on their own.
00:11:22 So sometimes it's just simply up, pause.
00:11:25 We're too sped up.
00:11:27 Everyone take a breather.
00:11:28 Let's get back out there.
00:11:29 Do what we know how to do.
00:11:30 That's it.
00:11:31 Just stop.
00:11:32 But they don't.
00:11:33 Like he does it.
00:11:34 It's weird.
00:11:35 It's very normal.
00:11:36 Like here's the thing, Bobby.
00:11:37 None of anything about basketball,
00:11:39 none of us know anything about coaching,
00:11:41 but we know from watching--
00:11:42 - You're in a ball.
00:11:43 - We know from watching a zillion games
00:11:45 that every other coach alive does this.
00:11:49 It's weird.
00:11:50 It's very weird for it not to happen.
00:11:52 It's not the end all be all.
00:11:55 It's not gonna save you.
00:11:57 Joe Mazzuola calling timeouts
00:11:59 doesn't make this a championship team.
00:12:01 It's just a really bizarre thing he doesn't do
00:12:03 that's completely outside of the norm
00:12:05 and we've yet to see it work.
00:12:07 So at a certain point--
00:12:09 - So they were at four three at that point.
00:12:12 They end up calling it.
00:12:13 So that ties it.
00:12:15 And then they have to call another one
00:12:16 to go down two three in timeouts.
00:12:19 He's trying to stay ahead of the magic on the road
00:12:21 with the timeouts. - I know, but when he
00:12:22 finally called it, it was a pointless--
00:12:24 - I know, and that's part of the point there.
00:12:26 Like his philosophy is to stay ahead of the magic
00:12:29 and they did that in the first half in terms of timeouts.
00:12:33 So they have the advantage late there.
00:12:35 So he's not just gonna throw that out the window
00:12:38 because of what run that was what?
00:12:40 When should he have called?
00:12:40 Eight nothing, 10 nothing?
00:12:42 - Let me ask you this.
00:12:42 How many games do you need timeouts at the end?
00:12:45 How many games does it come, for real, philosophically,
00:12:50 how many games come down to crap?
00:12:52 If we had one more timeout,
00:12:53 we'd be in much better shape right now.
00:12:56 One eighth of them to have eight, nine, 10 in a season,
00:13:00 like where you're like, "Oh, I called two minutes."
00:13:03 - Right, right.
00:13:04 Oh, we could advance the ball.
00:13:05 - You're saving up for nothing most of the time.
00:13:07 So like, relax.
00:13:09 If every game you knew, wow, the two timeouts I had--
00:13:13 - Three of the last four games
00:13:14 have come down to last possession.
00:13:15 - Gave me a huge edge.
00:13:17 I know, but I mean--
00:13:18 - Actually all four of them, the Hornets one did too.
00:13:20 - Again, but he wasted, he called one later to no benefit.
00:13:25 You know what I mean?
00:13:26 It's not like they're not called, it's just a--
00:13:29 - I think even if he called them,
00:13:30 they would have lost this game.
00:13:32 - Most likely.
00:13:35 - But what about the run though?
00:13:36 - It's weird, like, Moe just try and stop these runs.
00:13:40 It's weird that he doesn't, that's it.
00:13:42 - Yeah, it's just weird.
00:13:42 I don't think anyone believes
00:13:43 that that changes the outcome of the game,
00:13:45 but it's just like this pattern, this behavior,
00:13:48 is that gonna be the way he is forever?
00:13:51 And look, this game in particular,
00:13:53 when you lost Kristaps Porzingis in that second half,
00:13:56 and the Atlanta Magic's light, their faces just lit up
00:13:59 because they knew how easy it would be
00:14:00 to get to the paint, you know, the score on the six points.
00:14:03 Like, it was just easy for them.
00:14:05 So that's a great time to call a timeout,
00:14:07 especially Joe Mazzulla, who was constantly preached
00:14:11 about ending quarters the right way,
00:14:13 and having to do that for four quarters.
00:14:15 Okay, you didn't see that in the third.
00:14:17 You obviously get the free timeout
00:14:19 that both teams get in between quarters.
00:14:21 The Southerns go out, and the Magic,
00:14:23 they allow an 8-0 run.
00:14:25 Like, that's a great opportunity to say,
00:14:26 hey guys, let's take a breather here, you know what I mean?
00:14:29 And this is one thing that Dawkins used to do
00:14:31 when he was in Boston,
00:14:33 and it wasn't necessarily just giving them a breather.
00:14:35 It was that and letting the guys just talk amongst themselves
00:14:38 like, hey guys, Kristaps is not gonna come back in.
00:14:40 We're getting screwed out there.
00:14:42 Like, let's try to fix this thing, you know?
00:14:44 I think it's more so about that than,
00:14:46 hey, timeout, guys, sit down.
00:14:48 We guys gotta do this, gotta do that.
00:14:49 I don't think it's one of those,
00:14:50 okay, Joel, you have to go and ream these guys out.
00:14:52 No, it's more so like,
00:14:53 let them talk amongst themselves and figure it out.
00:14:56 And that obviously would be a conversation led by
00:14:58 Tatum and Brown, the two guys who are leading your squad
00:15:01 and the two guys who really just dropped the ball
00:15:03 in that fourth quarter.
00:15:04 Well, Tatum, at least he got to the free throw line
00:15:07 three consecutive drives,
00:15:08 but at that point they were trading baskets.
00:15:10 I'll give them that, but outside of that,
00:15:11 there wasn't a whole lot between the two
00:15:13 in that fourth quarter.
00:15:14 - Yeah, I mean, what killed them in this game
00:15:20 is that they didn't have matchups anywhere
00:15:22 advantageous to them.
00:15:23 I mean, you lose Holiday
00:15:25 and they start going out for Zingis.
00:15:26 - I know, but there it is.
00:15:28 I think that you hit it, Bobby.
00:15:29 They didn't have the matchups today.
00:15:31 So what do you do when you don't have matchups?
00:15:33 - Gotta adjust.
00:15:34 - Hustle.
00:15:35 - You move the ball.
00:15:37 - Yeah.
00:15:38 - You move the ball.
00:15:39 - You didn't see much of that tonight, did you?
00:15:40 - None.
00:15:41 That's the problem.
00:15:42 There's no matchups.
00:15:44 They did not have the matchups.
00:15:46 And instead they're just going at guys with tough matchups.
00:15:49 - Yeah, but Orlando also did a good job
00:15:51 of making sure guys like Hauser
00:15:52 weren't getting those threes
00:15:53 that he got in the first half though.
00:15:54 But yeah, you're right.
00:15:55 I just think a lot of it has to do
00:15:57 with how different this team is
00:15:59 when Porzingis isn't out there.
00:16:00 And obviously for him to go down in the middle of the game,
00:16:02 it really, they just look shell-shocked,
00:16:04 especially the starting five.
00:16:07 - Well, Porzingis has started to fade a little bit
00:16:08 from three, going back a couple of games now.
00:16:11 So you didn't have that.
00:16:12 - Yeah, but it's his presence though.
00:16:14 I feel like his presence just changed.
00:16:15 - Yeah, no, offensively for sure.
00:16:17 And he was getting beat up defensively too,
00:16:19 just like Cornette and some of the other guys
00:16:22 were out there, just 'cause Orlando started
00:16:24 going into him physically and knocking him off his feet.
00:16:27 But offense was the problem in this one.
00:16:29 I mean, you just didn't execute on that.
00:16:32 And as you said, John, even early when Tatum
00:16:35 was going at Suggs, when Brown was hitting the shot
00:16:38 behind the basket, I mean, those are insanely difficult looks.
00:16:41 Some of them you're getting followed on,
00:16:42 some they're not calling follows on.
00:16:44 I do think you started to lose the whistle battle
00:16:46 a little bit as the game went on,
00:16:47 and that started to take you out of this one as well,
00:16:49 Brown's technical and some other frustrating moments
00:16:53 down the stretch of this game.
00:16:54 So you didn't have, forget the timeouts.
00:16:59 You didn't have an adjustment in this game offensively,
00:17:01 a stylistic adjustment against a team
00:17:03 that you couldn't beat up in ISO.
00:17:05 Can you win a different way offensively,
00:17:09 especially when you're not hitting shots?
00:17:10 It looked like no in this one.
00:17:12 - No, they just went cold.
00:17:13 I mean, that's the thing is they shot 58% in the first half
00:17:15 and everyone's like, okay, here we go.
00:17:17 And it just, nothing, they were just dreadful
00:17:19 the entire second half.
00:17:21 There, they couldn't generate anything
00:17:23 and they just got murdered.
00:17:24 You know, second chance points, points in the paint.
00:17:28 Orlando's getting easy stuff, 60 points in the paint to 40,
00:17:32 21 second chance points to six.
00:17:35 So they're just getting easy points in the buckets
00:17:37 and you're just going ISO, ISO and hoping the shots fall.
00:17:40 Like it's just a losing formula
00:17:41 and that's what ended up happening.
00:17:43 Offensively, they didn't have the matchups
00:17:45 and they stopped moving the ball.
00:17:46 There was nothing going at all, nothing.
00:17:48 I mean, it's too bad.
00:17:52 I mean.
00:17:53 - Does Joe do it?
00:17:54 Does Joe do it?
00:17:56 And by do it, I mean not call a timeout.
00:17:57 Does he do it to like punish his guys for just?
00:18:00 - Yeah, I mean.
00:18:01 - Just laying away my guys.
00:18:02 - I think it's.
00:18:03 - Do you think there's like a.
00:18:05 - Yeah, that's been his response a lot of the time.
00:18:07 - Guys just like throw them in the pool
00:18:10 and like let them just freaking,
00:18:13 just paddle until they get to the side.
00:18:16 - Yeah.
00:18:17 - You know what I mean?
00:18:17 Like, is it one of those things?
00:18:18 - Yeah, it's like in the wild.
00:18:19 - Not giving a tip on it.
00:18:20 I'm not saying you should do that as a parent,
00:18:22 but I don't know, maybe people do.
00:18:24 I don't know.
00:18:28 I can't explain the thinking behind
00:18:30 not calling a timeout in that situation,
00:18:32 unless it's like, hey, I trust these guys.
00:18:34 I know what they're capable of.
00:18:37 I know that they can play a lot better than they are
00:18:40 and they shouldn't need me to tell them
00:18:42 what they already know.
00:18:43 I'm not going to change the game plan.
00:18:45 I'm not going to say anything
00:18:47 that I haven't already said to them.
00:18:49 So why waste the time out?
00:18:50 Let them figure it out.
00:18:51 Let them get out of their mood
00:18:54 or whatever emotions that they have,
00:18:56 figure it out and end this scoring drought.
00:19:01 It took way too long today.
00:19:02 And it reminds me of last season or previous seasons
00:19:06 when these guys just let games get away from them.
00:19:10 And it's too bad.
00:19:12 I mean, I disagree with Bobby in the sense
00:19:17 that it's not a big deal,
00:19:18 but I agree with him in the sense where,
00:19:20 is it going to change the outcome of the game?
00:19:21 I don't know, but it might change the momentum
00:19:23 in that moment.
00:19:24 I think that there is something to be said
00:19:27 about in-game momentum that you can affect,
00:19:30 especially when you're on the road.
00:19:32 Get the crowd out of the game for a minute.
00:19:34 Let them call a timeout.
00:19:35 Let them do some stupid T-shirt toss for a few minutes.
00:19:39 And like, let's get out of this zone that we're in here.
00:19:44 - Yeah, he just doesn't believe in that.
00:19:46 I don't know.
00:19:46 I mean, that's-
00:19:47 - He doesn't.
00:19:48 But you would think maybe Joe Sway
00:19:50 that he would just maybe try it.
00:19:52 I don't know.
00:19:53 Like, you know, it's certainly not foolproof.
00:19:56 - I hate putting this much attention on it
00:19:58 because it isn't the reason they lost
00:20:00 and it doesn't alone solve anything.
00:20:02 It's just a thing.
00:20:03 I'm just addressing it because people are talking about it.
00:20:05 I think it was on the players and the approach,
00:20:07 but again, people will say,
00:20:09 well, why doesn't Joe tell them to?
00:20:10 - Well, no, I'm glad you brought it up
00:20:12 because I was thinking the same thing when he called it.
00:20:13 When he finally did, I'm like,
00:20:14 this is the most random time to do it.
00:20:15 It's like-
00:20:16 - It was so random.
00:20:17 - It was so random.
00:20:18 And I wish I would tweet about it.
00:20:20 - I wrote it down with like 12 question marks
00:20:23 in my game notes.
00:20:24 I was like, he calls a timeout there.
00:20:26 - And I feel like they had a chance
00:20:27 to build some momentum there.
00:20:28 And it's like, you just stopped it.
00:20:29 You know, I was like, why would you-
00:20:30 - Yeah, it was like timeout Joe at 85, 74,
00:20:33 like with a couple back and forth for nothing had happened.
00:20:37 It was nothing.
00:20:38 I didn't even understand it.
00:20:39 Like, but again, it's not the thing.
00:20:42 It's just-
00:20:43 - He's talking, he has something to use.
00:20:44 - But like Bobby, you're talking about like,
00:20:46 what do they do when they don't have the matchups
00:20:47 or when they're down this or when they're down that,
00:20:49 how much of that is on the coach, you know,
00:20:51 this is kind of the Joe's philosophy with the timeout
00:20:55 is kind of his philosophy with the coaching.
00:20:57 Like you guys do it, you know?
00:20:58 - Yeah, I think that's why they went to Cornett
00:21:00 and Brissett a lot in this one,
00:21:01 looking for some offensive boards,
00:21:03 especially if you're gonna be missing the shots
00:21:05 you missed in this one.
00:21:06 I mean, you just look up and down the second half,
00:21:09 it was mislay up city, threes,
00:21:11 not going down at all in this one.
00:21:13 You didn't generate enough
00:21:14 if you wanna be close to that 50 mark,
00:21:16 you only have 29 in this one.
00:21:18 So nothing really went right offensively.
00:21:21 I think that's where they're gonna have to tighten up
00:21:22 the most right now is try to get back to,
00:21:25 I think some of the passing numbers you looked at
00:21:27 in recent years, John,
00:21:28 I do have to go back and look at them,
00:21:30 but they've ranked very low in assists,
00:21:32 very low in passing overall to start this year
00:21:35 because of the post up reliance they've had
00:21:37 and the ISO reliance and it's worked,
00:21:40 you know, like they've done a lot with that,
00:21:42 but now it's starting to fade.
00:21:43 So how do you adjust to that?
00:21:45 You know, how do you get away from that a little bit
00:21:47 and start to do some other things here?
00:21:49 That's what they're gonna have to figure out now,
00:21:50 especially, I mean, if Porzingis
00:21:53 is gonna miss any time here,
00:21:54 it's really gonna be back to the drawing board
00:21:56 because he's the one guy,
00:21:57 and you looked at in the first half,
00:21:58 he was very good early on in this game.
00:22:01 He always had matchups,
00:22:02 he always could get to the free throw line,
00:22:04 and even when the three's not there,
00:22:06 his post up's so effective
00:22:08 that it gives you a threat offensively.
00:22:11 And he made a big impact passing early in this game too.
00:22:14 Yeah, I mean, he's just been a monster,
00:22:17 even on the nights where he's not doing all the scoring
00:22:19 and production offensively,
00:22:21 just like Joe Sway said,
00:22:22 his presence out there completely changes the court
00:22:25 offensively for the Jays.
00:22:27 And, you know, I seem to remember one play early
00:22:30 in this game where there was like a handoff screw up
00:22:33 between Tatum and Brown, almost went the other way,
00:22:36 Tatum got it back and just fired it right down
00:22:38 the Porzingis' court.
00:22:40 So stuff like that, I think,
00:22:41 just makes offense so much easier for these guys.
00:22:43 And if he's out, it's back to the old days
00:22:46 of just Tatum and Brown into everything.
00:22:48 - Right, that's how I felt in the second half.
00:22:50 - Yeah.
00:22:51 - That's the worst of it too.
00:22:53 - And then I was like, they're gonna lose this game.
00:22:55 - They force things, they make it tough on themselves.
00:22:57 - And I'm not saying that in the sense of like,
00:22:59 there's no way Jalen and Tatum could save the day.
00:23:01 I mean, obviously we know we've seen them do that,
00:23:03 but you never got that feel.
00:23:05 You never got that feel when you saw just, again,
00:23:07 their little magic's momentum, you know,
00:23:09 they just saw the light there in the tunnel.
00:23:12 They're like, man, this seven footer is not out there
00:23:15 disrupting our lives anymore.
00:23:16 And it wasn't, oh, okay, let's just jack up
00:23:18 a couple of threes and get going.
00:23:19 No, they attacked the rim.
00:23:21 They went at these guys.
00:23:23 And Cornette, look, he had an impressive first half,
00:23:26 easily the best first half performance
00:23:27 he's had this season,
00:23:28 but man, did they figure him out, right?
00:23:30 I mean, what was there honestly to figure out
00:23:33 just outside of just, hey, get one step ahead of him
00:23:35 or, you know, off the dribble, off the pick and roll.
00:23:38 It was always a switch where it wasn't a favorable matchup
00:23:40 for the Celtics, you know,
00:23:41 they were drawing them out to the perimeter.
00:23:42 Like that's the last thing you want to see,
00:23:44 you know, Cornette doing is defending
00:23:46 the perimeter out there.
00:23:47 And they know what they wanted.
00:23:48 They got exactly what they wanted.
00:23:49 And that momentum went all the way into the fourth,
00:23:52 eight-oh run and the Celtics just didn't have it.
00:23:55 They didn't have the momentum.
00:23:56 They didn't have their offense
00:23:58 and they didn't have enough time to even come back,
00:24:01 you know, in that one,
00:24:02 besides those free throws from Jason Tatum.
00:24:04 - Hey guys, check this out from the boss man,
00:24:09 Nick Gelso, chiming in.
00:24:13 - Hey.
00:24:14 - If anyone's still doubting for this game,
00:24:16 definitely stopped his late game absence.
00:24:19 You really showed just how delicate this roster is.
00:24:23 Happy Thanksgiving, boys.
00:24:25 Hundred bucks from the boss, Nick Gelso.
00:24:27 - Those are rupees actually.
00:24:29 - Those aren't rupees.
00:24:30 - Yeah, Nick knows how to change it to USD.
00:24:32 So he looks like a big guy.
00:24:34 - All right, we got you.
00:24:35 - We just got 20 cents.
00:24:36 Thank you, still.
00:24:37 It's not about the money, it's about the message.
00:24:39 - Eight cents each.
00:24:40 (laughing)
00:24:42 - And that, my friends, is your-
00:24:45 - Nick also has the ability to like finagle the payment.
00:24:48 So like, that's all, let's be honest.
00:24:50 - Wow.
00:24:51 This dude just gives us,
00:24:52 gives us the big tip and we just like crap all over.
00:24:54 All right.
00:24:55 - That is his bonus right there.
00:24:57 - So Bobby, about that raise.
00:25:00 - Oh man, boomer rage, a little boomer rage.
00:25:05 - Looks like you guys are pissed tonight.
00:25:06 Jeez, forget it.
00:25:07 (laughing)
00:25:08 - No, we've said it.
00:25:10 We thought even if they lost one guy,
00:25:12 they'd be in a tough spot.
00:25:14 And even tonight, you know, holiday goes down.
00:25:17 You're in a tricky spot,
00:25:18 but you're still in a position to win this game.
00:25:20 When you lose a second starter, it's over.
00:25:24 I mean, you just don't have to do it.
00:25:26 - Well, that's-
00:25:26 - It's a good point in time against this team.
00:25:29 - Because Cornette becomes a must play big
00:25:32 and Pritchard becomes your backup point guard.
00:25:35 And neither one of them is nearly good enough
00:25:37 to get those kinds of minutes on a consistent basis.
00:25:40 That's a big problem.
00:25:41 If that's what you're going to go to,
00:25:43 and you don't have, if you lose Tatum or Brown,
00:25:46 all of a sudden, Hauser starting,
00:25:48 and you're playing Brissett, you know, Hauser minutes,
00:25:52 and that's a disaster too.
00:25:53 So again, the drop after six is-
00:25:57 - It looked like they were going to close
00:25:58 the final nine minutes with Cornette out there
00:26:00 once they got Brissett out of there
00:26:02 after the disastrous first couple minutes
00:26:04 that you were complaining about, John.
00:26:05 - It was bad.
00:26:06 I mean, again, I'm not blaming O'Shea.
00:26:10 In fact, I think I just called him O'Shea
00:26:13 for the first time and not Jacoby, you know.
00:26:17 (laughing)
00:26:19 - I think so too.
00:26:20 You've done that a few times.
00:26:21 I think I've called him Jacoby Brissett a hundred times.
00:26:24 But, the drop is significant there.
00:26:29 Go ahead, Jimmy, what's up?
00:26:32 - What's the sitch with Holiday?
00:26:35 - I thought you were going to say with the quarterback.
00:26:37 (laughing)
00:26:39 - For those who might not know.
00:26:40 - So he sprained his ankle with about four minutes left
00:26:43 the other night against the Bucks.
00:26:44 Saw him come up lame.
00:26:46 I think he actually went down too,
00:26:48 and then got up and tried to keep playing
00:26:49 the rest of the way, but it did look pretty bad.
00:26:51 If he had a chance to play tonight,
00:26:54 I'd have to imagine it's not too long-term,
00:26:56 but a mild ankle sprain, you have to think
00:26:58 you're gonna miss at least a couple games here.
00:27:01 They just get out of the way.
00:27:03 - He was probable with it last game, was he not?
00:27:06 - No, he heard it last game.
00:27:08 - He heard it last game.
00:27:09 - He heard it, yeah.
00:27:10 And then he--
00:27:11 - Then he was doubtful today.
00:27:12 - But he started as probable, right?
00:27:15 - No, I think he started as doubtful.
00:27:17 - Oh, I thought the first report wasn't as bad,
00:27:20 and then he was out.
00:27:21 Okay.
00:27:21 - Yeah, Brown was on there with the groin again today.
00:27:24 He was probable.
00:27:26 - Cancel the season.
00:27:27 - Yeah, I mean, if that's what it comes down to.
00:27:31 - So Porzingis said he's gonna have an MRI
00:27:35 on his left calf tomorrow.
00:27:37 MRIs are always, but it doesn't mean the results are bad,
00:27:39 but obviously, the knee for one means
00:27:41 you're gonna need something.
00:27:43 Said he felt a tweak running the floor.
00:27:45 Did not slip, did not blame it on the floor,
00:27:47 even though a few--
00:27:48 - He got fouls on that play, right?
00:27:50 - I'm not sure.
00:27:51 - Like Olga?
00:27:52 - So who knows?
00:27:53 Hopefully that comes back clean and he's back soon.
00:27:55 Calves are tricky, same thing.
00:27:57 Hamstrings, blah, blah, blah.
00:27:59 Those calf strains can be kind of all up and down
00:28:02 the map in terms of severity.
00:28:05 So hopefully, as we saw, and as the boss man said,
00:28:10 that would--
00:28:14 - He's had those before too, I think.
00:28:16 They needed him, yeah.
00:28:17 - Foot, calf, ankle, those have been his issues.
00:28:21 - Really?
00:28:22 - Yeah.
00:28:23 - Yeah.
00:28:24 - And what'd you see with him out?
00:28:26 They were a little bit lost during the fourth.
00:28:29 A lot of shots that were missed.
00:28:31 Brown, Tatum had a horrible game tonight.
00:28:33 Completely different game from Brown than from the last game.
00:28:36 I mean, when you just look at the,
00:28:39 not just the way he played,
00:28:40 but you can look at the shot chart and everything like that.
00:28:42 And it's just, I've said it before,
00:28:44 it's not a Brown thing.
00:28:45 It's just what you get from these guys,
00:28:48 one game compared to the other,
00:28:50 sometimes it's just so wildly different in wild ways
00:28:54 that you just really don't know what you're gonna get
00:28:57 from one game to the next.
00:28:59 And I feel like that was the case with Brown tonight.
00:29:01 - Weird game from him.
00:29:03 He plays with real force early.
00:29:05 I thought he was on a train of an outstanding game.
00:29:09 - Yeah, that's what we saw Friday night.
00:29:10 The same approach in the first quarter.
00:29:13 Assertiveness, quick to his spots.
00:29:15 And then some of the sloppiness late.
00:29:18 I thought the real turning point was that play
00:29:19 where he was frustrated about the no call
00:29:22 and then got teed up there.
00:29:24 He was just erratic after that, trying to force things.
00:29:27 Tatum ended up out of the action too often, I felt like.
00:29:31 And this was a game where,
00:29:33 if it was my turn, your turn in terms of Tatum
00:29:35 in that Bucks game and then Brown tonight a little bit.
00:29:38 Too much in the Brown direction.
00:29:42 Yeah, I don't think Tatum was involved enough
00:29:44 until very late where he started racking up
00:29:45 those free throws.
00:29:47 So overall, just a little bit of offensive imbalance.
00:29:50 And then it went from my turn, my turn, my turn
00:29:53 to White late, who was trying to force things.
00:29:55 - Oh, I thought you were gonna say, I felt like he was,
00:29:57 I don't know, I'm joking here, but I was gonna say,
00:29:59 I feel like he was almost jealous
00:30:00 with what was going on between Porzingis and Tatum, man.
00:30:03 They had their two man game going.
00:30:04 Yeah, back to back possessions converted.
00:30:06 And again, Porzingis just causes issues for most teams.
00:30:10 But I felt like with him and Tatum,
00:30:11 it was just like, man, they can't guard this at all.
00:30:15 It only happened a few times in that first half,
00:30:17 but then Jalen, yeah, he got frustrated with the refs,
00:30:21 got hit with that tag, weird text being thrown all around
00:30:24 before the halftime.
00:30:25 And it was just like a different team
00:30:27 going into the third quarter, I feel like.
00:30:28 And yeah, not having Porzingis out there
00:30:30 and them adjusting to that,
00:30:32 I really think it's what it boils down to
00:30:35 and how the Orlando Magic were able to capitalize.
00:30:38 - Yeah, all right, guys, a couple of messages here.
00:30:41 And again, thank you guys for hanging out with us
00:30:43 day after Thanksgiving.
00:30:44 - Appreciate it.
00:30:45 - I swear, I wasn't that riled up about the game.
00:30:47 We were starting to talk about the in-season tournament
00:30:49 and things went off the rails here.
00:30:50 (laughing)
00:30:51 - We'll get back to that.
00:30:53 - We will.
00:30:54 And plenty of people agree with you, Bobby.
00:30:55 So again, I know we-
00:30:56 - We were gonna do a quarterfinal preview show, right, John?
00:30:59 What happened?
00:31:01 - I did see a lot of agrees in the chat.
00:31:03 - So just 'cause we didn't doesn't mean it's wrong.
00:31:05 I just, I don't think that players view it that way.
00:31:07 - They clearly don't, and I think that's a problem.
00:31:09 - I don't think any players in the league view it that way.
00:31:12 - The Magic did.
00:31:14 - No, I don't.
00:31:15 That's my opinion.
00:31:16 - The Magic were trying to run it up with it,
00:31:17 and they did, they got two extra points.
00:31:19 - They just wanna send a message, man.
00:31:20 Like, let's like what Scout said in the telecast.
00:31:22 - I don't believe the Magic-
00:31:24 Put it this way.
00:31:25 I don't believe when this game began,
00:31:27 there's talk in the Magic locker room saying,
00:31:30 "Guys, big tournament game tonight."
00:31:33 - I bet we're gonna get a quote tonight saying,
00:31:35 "This is a big tournament game for us
00:31:37 and we gotta come out and win."
00:31:38 - They view it as a game against the Celtics,
00:31:41 who are a really good team, and we won.
00:31:43 They got up for the Celtics, not for the tournament game.
00:31:45 That's my belief.
00:31:46 And so-
00:31:47 - Yeah, I agree.
00:31:48 - But you know what?
00:31:49 You know what?
00:31:50 There is something to the fact of,
00:31:52 there is now that running it up.
00:31:54 The point differential matters.
00:31:56 I do agree in the sense where,
00:31:58 if you're not a title contender,
00:32:01 it might mean a little bit more too.
00:32:02 You can kind of make something out of nothing, for example.
00:32:05 That might, there might be a little bit of something there.
00:32:06 - Yeah, tell the Magic they're not a title contender.
00:32:08 - But overall-
00:32:09 - They're second in the East right now.
00:32:11 - I know.
00:32:12 I know that.
00:32:13 And so maybe that's not a good example.
00:32:15 - No, it's not an example.
00:32:15 - They just beat Denver and Boston.
00:32:17 I don't know, you know?
00:32:18 - I mean, they're a team on the come up.
00:32:20 - They're beating good teams.
00:32:21 The Magic are playing well.
00:32:22 They're playing a hell of a lot.
00:32:24 Last year, they were like shades of here and there,
00:32:27 but they were nowhere near where they needed to be.
00:32:29 Now that they're at that point
00:32:30 where they're making it very difficult on teams,
00:32:32 and they're a good team.
00:32:33 Are they a title contender?
00:32:34 Probably not.
00:32:35 I still am not going to put them up there,
00:32:38 but they're certainly capable of turning it on
00:32:40 and running up a game against a team
00:32:42 that's not ready for it.
00:32:44 And this is one of those games.
00:32:46 But I'm still on the side where I don't really think
00:32:50 the in-game season tournament matters a whole lot.
00:32:54 That being said,
00:32:55 I do think the championship game will be interesting.
00:32:58 But other than that, I'm just not that interested.
00:33:00 - I think it's a hair above the Mayor's Cup,
00:33:02 which the Celtics, the Red Sox and the Twins
00:33:06 used to compete for in spring training.
00:33:08 You know?
00:33:09 (laughing)
00:33:11 They would play each other so much
00:33:12 'cause they're both in Fort Myers.
00:33:14 Whoever won more games would win the Mayor's Cup.
00:33:16 - That's ridiculous.
00:33:17 - That's about what I think of the in-season tournament here.
00:33:20 Let's tell you a little bit about fan.
00:33:23 - I can say this real quick.
00:33:23 - I thought the angle was almost been up
00:33:24 for a really long time.
00:33:26 - You gotta get into it.
00:33:27 I know you're getting into it.
00:33:28 I'll tell you this.
00:33:28 - Jimmy, you are just chicken.
00:33:29 - Unless you're a diehard NBA fan,
00:33:32 you don't give a shit about the in-season tournament.
00:33:35 - It might stick.
00:33:37 I don't think the players are anyway.
00:33:39 Head over if you guys wanna get in on the action here
00:33:41 and bet on this in-season tournament,
00:33:43 which is all the rage.
00:33:44 Go to fandual.com/boston.
00:33:47 (laughing)
00:33:48 - They definitely have odds on the winner.
00:33:50 (laughing)
00:33:51 - Do they?
00:33:52 - That is not what the copy says, but okay.
00:33:55 (laughing)
00:33:56 - I'm reading it for bail.
00:33:57 - I wonder if they do.
00:34:00 - Guy sent updated in-season tournament copy.
00:34:03 (laughing)
00:34:05 - He watched what Bobby had to do.
00:34:07 - I'm looking it up.
00:34:07 If they don't, then Bobby's right.
00:34:10 - Anyway, get 150 in bonus bets
00:34:13 when you place a winning $5 Moneyline bet.
00:34:15 And that's if you sign up at fandual.com/boston.

00:34:39 This is great, actually.
00:34:40 Thursday games, Friday games, Sunday games.
00:34:43 Everybody have fun getting in on the action here.
00:34:47 Patriots, I think the over-under was 34
00:34:50 and it, you know, versus the Giants there.
00:34:52 Must lose game for the Patriots this weekend.
00:34:54 So they're too--
00:34:56 - It's horrible.
00:34:57 - This is it.
00:34:58 - Must lose, love it.
00:34:59 - They are two and eight against the spread,
00:35:01 just so you guys know.
00:35:02 - You know what's really funny?
00:35:04 - What's funny is I have to get to another read right now,
00:35:07 so we can't divert again.
00:35:08 Yeah, fandual.com/boston.
00:35:12 Other sponsor of ours, SeatGeek,

00:35:45 What show might you go see coming up, Jimmy, anything?
00:35:48 - Disney on ice.
00:35:49 - If I don't get Rolling Stone tickets,
00:35:53 when they go on sale, I'm gonna be on SeatGeek.
00:35:55 - There you go. - Looking for a good one.
00:35:56 - Rolling Stones, baby.
00:35:57 I haven't seen, I've never seen the Rolling Stones.
00:35:59 I might be in on that too.
00:36:01 - This is it, John, this is it.
00:36:02 This is it.
00:36:03 Me and Gelso actually went a couple of years ago
00:36:05 and we thought that was it.
00:36:06 - That's why I went to see Bruce.
00:36:07 - You went?
00:36:08 - I went to see Bruce.
00:36:10 - Oh, it's at Gillette.
00:36:11 - I went to see Bruce again 'cause I thought that was it
00:36:13 and it might've been it, but we'll see.
00:36:14 And again, so.
00:36:16 - That might've been it,
00:36:17 but Bruce just announced some more shows too overseas.
00:36:19 So he might be going strong here.
00:36:20 - Use the code DreamersPro, get $20 off those tickets.
00:36:22 So again, that's a good little boost for you there.
00:36:26 $20 off when you use the code DreamersPro.
00:36:29 Go check it out right now.
00:36:31 All right, guys, back to the in-season tournament.
00:36:34 - Real quick, what's funny, what I was gonna say is one,
00:36:37 that game on Sunday, Patriots-Giants,
00:36:38 if you go to a Patriots bar or a Giants bar,
00:36:42 it's opposite.
00:36:44 Patriots fans are gonna be cheering when the Giants score.
00:36:46 Giants fans are gonna be cheering when the Patriots score.
00:36:48 - Is that really gonna happen?
00:36:49 - Neither team, neither fan wants their team to win these.
00:36:51 I think it will happen. - No, I don't know.
00:36:52 I think both sides still don't like each other, but.
00:36:56 - My favorite, no, no, no, what he's saying is,
00:36:58 he's not saying. - But not in the locker room.
00:37:00 - What's funny is right now is the argument
00:37:02 between Patriots fans on what, who is a real fan.
00:37:06 The people rooting for wins or losses.
00:37:09 I think people who are rooting for wins
00:37:11 think they're the real fans, but you're morons.
00:37:14 And you're not real fans.
00:37:15 That means you want your team stuck in planetary
00:37:20 for the rest of your lives.
00:37:22 - Or John, I don't know.
00:37:24 John, maybe they're Belichick fans though,
00:37:26 because that's the debate too, right?
00:37:28 Like a lot of people are siding with Belichick.
00:37:30 I'm kind of surprised.
00:37:32 - There's no sharing though.
00:37:34 - Yeah, so I feel like those are the ones
00:37:36 that are cheering for the Patriots.
00:37:37 Like see, he's a good coach.
00:37:39 - Belichick, if they're Belichick fans,
00:37:42 they need to hope that he has enough, I guess,
00:37:46 like power to lose the rest of the year
00:37:49 and still stay as coach next year.
00:37:52 I'm not sure if he does.
00:37:53 - They're nervous.
00:37:53 - He's not gonna win with this team next year either.
00:37:55 He's not gonna win with this team next year either.
00:37:57 So they need something to say.
00:37:57 - Tell the pro Belichick people that,
00:37:59 'cause they're riding with him.
00:38:01 - John, remember it was like six or seven weeks ago
00:38:05 at the end of our show,
00:38:05 I think I went on a one or two minute spiel
00:38:07 and I said, "The darkest days are still coming."
00:38:09 And here they are, they're still coming.
00:38:11 My other thing I wanted to say was I'd went on FanDuel.
00:38:14 You can actually bet on the in-season tournament.
00:38:16 You can bet on like the group.
00:38:18 You can bet on the group winners right now.
00:38:20 - They just made a tab.
00:38:21 They were like, "Oh crap, we gotta put this on."
00:38:25 - Yeah, weirdly enough, you can't bet on the Celtics.
00:38:27 - I think there are games going on, yeah.
00:38:30 - Yeah, you can bet on the Celtics group,
00:38:32 but there's a few other groups you can bet on right now.
00:38:34 So have at it folks, if that's what it's gonna take.
00:38:36 - I'm fired up, I hope they go.
00:38:38 That's all I can say.
00:38:41 And all they have to really do is beat the Bulls
00:38:42 by a sizable amount on Tuesday.
00:38:44 And I think they're in.
00:38:46 So if you're not in, I mean,
00:38:48 if the Magic and Nets are in this thing and you're not,
00:38:51 'cause you slipped up and just didn't take
00:38:52 a couple of games seriously against teams
00:38:54 you probably could have beaten,
00:38:56 that's a bad look to me.
00:38:59 You don't have to be all excited about it
00:39:01 and saying that this is gonna mean
00:39:02 as much as the championship,
00:39:04 but you were in an easy division with the Nets, Magic,
00:39:08 Bulls and Raptors, and you've made it a lot.
00:39:11 I mean, you could have lost that Raptors game too,
00:39:13 and then been completely out of it today
00:39:15 based on how they play in that game.
00:39:17 And that was kind of the start of these recent struggles
00:39:19 the Celtics have gone through here, right?
00:39:21 I mean, this is like,
00:39:22 remember they went 21 and five last year,
00:39:25 and then it started to slip up a little,
00:39:26 some losses to teams you didn't love seeing losses against,
00:39:29 and then it just kind of spiraled the rest of the way.
00:39:33 That's what this is feeling a little like,
00:39:35 and they're only 16 games in.
00:39:37 So you don't love that.
00:39:38 I mean, they're in the bottom half offensively
00:39:40 over this recent little stretch here.
00:39:42 The defense is still fine overall,
00:39:45 but there's some slippage going on here.
00:39:48 And again, forget the timeouts.
00:39:50 Is the team fully bought in
00:39:56 on the way Joe wants them to play right now?
00:39:57 'Cause this is yet another game
00:39:59 where they don't shoot enough threes,
00:40:00 they're taking crazy layups and missing them,
00:40:02 and the team's running back the other way.
00:40:04 I asked Joe in Memphis,
00:40:05 you really don't want them taking those tough layups.
00:40:09 How do you kind of set them up
00:40:12 to make some tough decisions inside there?
00:40:14 And we talked about that a little bit back then.
00:40:17 I forget exactly what he said,
00:40:18 but we know how Joe wants them to play, right?
00:40:23 And tonight is the exact opposite
00:40:25 of how he wants them to play.
00:40:27 So I keep an eye on that too.
00:40:30 Like, are they able to really key in
00:40:31 and execute his game plan over the coming games here?
00:40:35 What's coming up?
00:40:36 They got Hawks Sunday,
00:40:38 who have scored like 140 points a game recently.
00:40:41 - And they've given up more than that too.
00:40:44 You got the Sixers next Friday,
00:40:48 and then who's in between that?
00:40:49 Bulls.
00:40:50 So mixed bag of teams coming up,
00:40:53 but two of them could really challenge you
00:40:55 in Atlanta and Philly.
00:40:56 So.
00:40:57 - Yeah, no question.
00:40:58 I mean, it's something to keep an eye on.
00:40:59 (indistinct)
00:41:00 Well, that's interesting because Bobby,
00:41:01 I thought you were gonna mention
00:41:02 this, the road Celtics, right?
00:41:05 Is this gonna be a talking point?
00:41:06 All these losses coming on the road,
00:41:08 and are they different on the road?
00:41:10 And does Joe Mizzou need to figure that out
00:41:12 in terms of their tendencies
00:41:13 and what they need when they're on the bad end
00:41:16 of a run like that?
00:41:16 This isn't the first time this season that's happened,
00:41:19 with 17 over run and in the second half.
00:41:23 I mean, not a lot of teams survive that,
00:41:25 but when you look at the way the Celtics team
00:41:26 is in the past has had to bounce back
00:41:29 and always found themselves playing uphill,
00:41:32 that can't be part of their identity.
00:41:36 They have to work on that, especially on the road,
00:41:37 'cause that's where all the losses are.
00:41:39 And I feel like the Celtics tend to sort of
00:41:41 just lose their focus.
00:41:42 And of course this one, we're gonna talk again
00:41:44 about Porzingis and them getting hurt
00:41:47 and starting the game without Drew Holiday,
00:41:48 but regardless, that was just a poor showing
00:41:52 in the second half of the Celtics,
00:41:54 regardless of even without those guys.
00:41:56 So.
00:41:59 - There's nothing on Twitter.
00:42:00 Is anyone covering the team tonight?
00:42:02 - I thought Jerry-
00:42:04 - Yeah, I haven't seen a whole lot of-
00:42:05 - I thought-
00:42:06 - I'm not sure if-
00:42:07 - A lot of people are doing it remote like us, so.
00:42:09 - Who was the one tweeting that Joe quote?
00:42:10 'Cause I think Jerry was thinking about going,
00:42:12 but then decided not.
00:42:14 So there might actually just be one reporter down there
00:42:16 from the globe, maybe.
00:42:17 Is Gary down there, Joe Sway?
00:42:19 - Is Gary going back and forth with Missoula?
00:42:21 That's the press conference?
00:42:21 (all laughing)
00:42:24 - If it's just Gary, then I'm not expecting a whole lot.
00:42:26 - What do you mean?
00:42:27 If it's Gary, you know he's got seven questions
00:42:29 back and forth.
00:42:29 - Any questions? No?
00:42:31 All right, see you later.
00:42:31 - Well, I just don't know if he's gonna get any answers.
00:42:33 That's all.
00:42:34 - Gary's just got the microphone.
00:42:34 He's just like, "What's up, coach?"
00:42:35 And it's just them.
00:42:36 (all laughing)
00:42:37 - Yeah, Gary is there.
00:42:39 Gary is there.
00:42:39 - It's gonna be a one-on-one.
00:42:41 - We got Gary.
00:42:41 - Let me ask you this, Bobby.
00:42:42 - We got Gary telling us about Virginia.
00:42:43 - Only 29 three-point attempts tonight.
00:42:45 Did the Magic do a good job running them off the line there?
00:42:47 Were they, you know, what was, you know, what's,
00:42:51 you know, what was the, what was the reason behind that?
00:42:54 - They're a very switchable team.
00:42:55 You got Mo at center.
00:42:57 You got Isaac, as you mentioned,
00:42:58 who can switch across every position.
00:43:00 So they were switching.
00:43:01 They were even giving up Anthony and Suggs matchups
00:43:04 at point guard, which the Celtics were able to exploit
00:43:07 better when Anthony was out there.
00:43:08 But Suggs is tough.
00:43:10 They just got tough.
00:43:11 I mean, it's the best defense in the NBA.
00:43:13 Magic entered this game number one in defense.
00:43:16 So they can switch, they can guard every position.
00:43:18 They're very tough and physical.
00:43:20 They'll defend physically too, which I think, you know,
00:43:22 you're probably gonna get some, to mention the quotes here,
00:43:25 complaints about the officiating in this one,
00:43:27 because the Magic were definitely embodying them
00:43:30 and making it tough in there,
00:43:32 and knowing that they weren't gonna call everything
00:43:35 in this game.
00:43:36 So I think that's part of it as well.
00:43:37 But when you're a great switching team,
00:43:38 that's definitely gonna limit the amount of three pointers
00:43:41 you're able to get up,
00:43:42 'cause you're not caught in between.
00:43:44 You're just sort of handing off defenders.
00:43:46 And that's gonna usually take the Celtics into the paint,
00:43:48 which they did.
00:43:50 Again, just so many mislayups in this game.
00:43:52 I wanna look at what they finished inside,
00:43:54 but that was kind of my read on that.
00:43:57 Four mislayups in the fourth quarter,
00:44:00 three in the third quarter,
00:44:04 one in the second quarter,
00:44:07 and one in the first quarter.
00:44:09 So you're talking like 10, 20 points left on the board there
00:44:14 off mislayups.
00:44:15 So I'm sure some of them were contested,
00:44:18 but especially in the fourth,
00:44:19 a lot of those were, you're right there
00:44:21 and you gotta finish that, and they couldn't.
00:44:23 - Yeah, they looked gassed.
00:44:27 - Facts turned up.
00:44:28 - Yeah.
00:44:28 - I couldn't get nothing.
00:44:34 (laughing)
00:44:35 - Come on, Jimmy, we're waiting for you, man.
00:44:36 What's going on?
00:44:37 - I'm gonna circle back to something.
00:44:38 - I got nothing left in the tank.
00:44:40 - I'm gonna circle back around to something.
00:44:41 So let's get into this because this is, as Bobby mentioned.
00:44:44 - By the way, the answer to this is yes, I think.
00:44:47 If they go, we'll see Bobby there.
00:44:50 That's why Bobby's so adamant.
00:44:53 - Oh, that's why, huh, Jimmy?
00:44:55 That makes sense.
00:44:56 - He's trying to pump some interest in this.
00:44:59 - This thing matters, guys.
00:45:00 - That's our job, right?
00:45:01 - Yeah, yeah.
00:45:02 - But yeah.
00:45:03 - Yeah.
00:45:04 - But yeah, I'm excited about Vegas.
00:45:06 (laughing)
00:45:07 - This thing could be going down in Idaho
00:45:09 and you know Bobby would be excited.
00:45:11 - Right.
00:45:12 I mean, I was pretty excited about Memphis Sunday.
00:45:15 - Let's talk about one more thing before we wrap it up.
00:45:21 Bobby mentioned that when they're down two starters,
00:45:24 everything gets rough.
00:45:25 How worried, like...
00:45:28 - They're in trouble if they're down two starters.
00:45:30 - It's not just down two starters.
00:45:32 At what point does Joe need to...
00:45:35 I've said this a few times.
00:45:37 I'm more annoyed with this with Joe
00:45:39 than anything to do with that timeout
00:45:41 or frigging dumb post-game comments.
00:45:43 That stuff doesn't matter.
00:45:45 Like, at what point is Joe going to develop trust
00:45:50 in someone outside of the top six or seven?
00:45:53 I mean, again, whether they earned it or not,
00:45:55 Pritchard had a couple of decent games.
00:45:57 You've seen a flash or two from Cornette situationally
00:46:00 and Hauser has come on a little bit late.
00:46:03 But when you...
00:46:04 - So you know what, Bob?
00:46:05 - When you're missing a starter or two,
00:46:07 at what point do you need to just say,
00:46:10 "I'm going to play the X guy,
00:46:13 "Stevens, Brissett, Banton, whomever,
00:46:16 "10, 12 minutes a night,
00:46:18 "so they can learn how to play with the people around them,
00:46:21 "so then I can use them every once in a while."
00:46:24 It's insane to have all these guys on the bench,
00:46:28 many of whom have actual NBA experience,
00:46:30 and play them zero minutes.
00:46:32 Just pick someone out, just do something.
00:46:37 You can't not everybody all the time, right?
00:46:40 Like, there's gotta be someone there who's next in line.
00:46:43 It's weird to keep rotating
00:46:46 and then not going back to these guys.
00:46:48 Playing a guy for five minutes
00:46:49 and then not again for two weeks is weird.
00:46:52 Like, most teams I know, you don't wanna go past eight, nine
00:46:55 or, you know, you might get 10 guys in a game,
00:46:57 and the guys who are nine and 10
00:46:58 will only get five to eight minutes.
00:47:00 But like, who are those guys?
00:47:02 Like, who are they gonna be?
00:47:03 Is it incumbent on Joe to figure it out?
00:47:05 'Cause like, right now, every time any single,
00:47:07 any one of them comes in, they're all bad, pretty much.
00:47:11 All of them. - Yeah.
00:47:12 - I mean, you've seen a couple of stretches.
00:47:13 I think Sve had a good stint one time.
00:47:16 You've seen energy from Banton and from Brissett,
00:47:19 but no results 'cause they're terrified to shoot.
00:47:21 They look like they've never shot a basketball in their lives.
00:47:23 At what point is it on Joe to figure this out?
00:47:25 - I mean, I think that's what he's trying to do, you know?
00:47:28 We're giving these guys those opportunities,
00:47:30 especially in spots where, you know, guys were starting
00:47:32 because, you know, someone was out,
00:47:33 but still, I mean, he didn't always have to do that.
00:47:35 Or when he puts guys in a situation
00:47:37 where they're one of the first guys off the bench
00:47:38 and they haven't played in four games in a row,
00:47:40 I think that's his way of testing them out
00:47:43 and seeing how they adapt, you know, little by little.
00:47:45 This thing's gonna take some time.
00:47:46 I mean, you look at the top six,
00:47:48 and we've talked so much about it
00:47:50 the first few weeks of the season
00:47:51 because that's how good they are, right?
00:47:53 They're the best top six in the NBA,
00:47:54 and the rest of the Southeast's bench knows that, right?
00:47:57 So it's a tough spot for them
00:47:59 because they obviously want to outshine, you know,
00:48:01 the guys that are all competing for that spot,
00:48:03 whether it's the eighth or ninth, you know,
00:48:05 guy in the rotation.
00:48:06 So you want to see this other figure that out,
00:48:08 but I still think he's going through that, you know?
00:48:11 I think there's still bright spots, right?
00:48:14 Which we saw from Cornette, you know?
00:48:16 That first half was terrific.
00:48:18 - He was so good in the first half.
00:48:19 - What could you ask for?
00:48:20 Two blocks, you know what I mean?
00:48:21 The hustle plays, the offensive rebounds.
00:48:23 I mean, that's a guy who obviously has a shot,
00:48:26 but you're not gonna be able to tell
00:48:28 until you keep seeing more of these, right?
00:48:30 These guys get more of those reps
00:48:31 and more of those opportunities.
00:48:33 And hopefully by, I don't know, maybe by Christmas,
00:48:35 as they say, when the season really starts,
00:48:37 you'll see Missoula has a better idea,
00:48:41 a better feel for what a second unit's gonna look like,
00:48:43 especially after today, man.
00:48:44 I don't want to make too much about it.
00:48:46 Hopefully, you know, this is a one, two game thing
00:48:48 for Porzingis, but if he's ever forced
00:48:50 to miss extended time, I mean,
00:48:51 that changes things for the Celtics team.
00:48:53 I mean, we see it firsthand against his Orlando Magic team,
00:48:56 and it's not just against the Magic.
00:48:57 I mean, even though they do provide a lot of obstacles
00:49:00 for the Celtics, there's a lot of teams out there
00:49:02 that without Porzingis, the Celtics are gonna have
00:49:04 to really try to figure things out
00:49:06 and how to still stay afloat if that's the case,
00:49:08 if he's gonna be, you know, sidelined
00:49:10 for, you know, a few games or so.
00:49:12 - At some point, you do have to look at Stevens
00:49:16 as an alternate to what you're looking for from Bursette,
00:49:18 because he can do a lot of the same things.
00:49:20 And honestly, Bursette can't shoot at all.
00:49:23 - Bursette supposedly could shoot a little bit,
00:49:25 but he can't hear.
00:49:27 - I mean, what's going on with his shot,
00:49:29 I think, is a story here.
00:49:30 It is gone.
00:49:32 He's not struggling, he's not missing.
00:49:35 It's gone.
00:49:36 He can't hit free throws.
00:49:37 He's air-balling threes.
00:49:38 - He's tight, man.
00:49:39 - It doesn't look good.
00:49:40 - The free throws were sad.
00:49:42 - And Lamar's coming off his best shooting season ever.
00:49:45 So at this point, I don't think there's anything to lose
00:49:48 by going to, is it the contract you signed
00:49:50 for Bursette two years and Lamar's a training camp guy?
00:49:54 Like, I don't know.
00:49:55 - No, that means nothing.
00:49:56 (laughing)
00:49:57 - I don't think it means anything.
00:49:58 I think he'll get his spot.
00:50:00 - He offensive rebound.
00:50:02 He's coming off the best shooting season of his career.
00:50:04 He can play a little five, you know,
00:50:06 defend some earlier guys in there
00:50:07 if you really wanna go small here.
00:50:09 And I think he'd play well with their main guys.
00:50:12 Now, one thing I know he doesn't do great
00:50:15 and he didn't do a lot in Cleveland is the screening.
00:50:17 I know that's a big deal for them
00:50:18 to set up the mismatches and all that.
00:50:20 So maybe that's where he's struggling
00:50:22 and he can't break through.
00:50:23 But I don't think Bursette's doing a ton of that either.
00:50:26 So he can't be far enough behind Bursette
00:50:29 where you're never even looking at that one.
00:50:31 I mean, that's what you're talking about, John, here, right?
00:50:33 'Cause Banton's probably not ready.
00:50:35 Mahi Luke is pretty much Hauser.
00:50:37 And Kada, I know people get excited about him,
00:50:41 but he just came back off a foot fracture.
00:50:43 - Dude, he legit looks like he can't play.
00:50:45 Like. - Yeah.
00:50:47 - The only thing I can think of with-
00:50:49 - Bobby, you just got a garbage moster touchdown.
00:50:52 - Yeah.
00:50:53 - God damn it.
00:50:54 - Damn, I needed-
00:50:55 - I need a score.
00:50:56 - I don't wanna talk about it.
00:50:58 - Yeah, don't tell him.
00:50:59 (laughing)
00:51:01 - That is what will drive our views into the ground.
00:51:04 Talking fantasy.
00:51:05 Yeah, that's true.
00:51:08 - Last time we faced off, you got 45.
00:51:11 - Bobby, you don't have a good team.
00:51:12 You don't have a good team.
00:51:13 - My team?
00:51:14 - You do not.
00:51:16 - You don't have a good team.
00:51:17 And you're in sixth place.
00:51:19 I have a better team than you.
00:51:21 Screwed.
00:51:22 I have a great team and I'm getting screwed.
00:51:24 - Well, if I beat John here, I'm about to move to seven
00:51:26 and five, but forget it.
00:51:28 We'll talk about it off the air.
00:51:29 (laughing)
00:51:31 - Let me sneak in one more thing before we go-go
00:51:34 because it's gonna get off the rails here.
00:51:37 Did I have it?
00:51:39 - The only thing I can think of-
00:51:42 - Nope, sorry, you're getting tangoed by HelloFresh.
00:51:44 HelloFresh, guys, it's Thanksgiving.
00:51:47 When we get back to Jimmy's point here, hold onto it.
00:51:51 - Sorry.
00:51:52 - Thanksgiving is over.
00:51:53 - John, that's not what I mean.
00:51:54 - We got a little bridge here
00:51:55 between Thanksgiving and Christmas
00:51:56 and I don't think you wanna spend a lot of time
00:51:57 in the kitchen because if you're like me,
00:52:00 I'm freaking exhausted.
00:52:01 I don't wanna cook anything again for a long time
00:52:04 or I don't wanna spend as much time cooking as I just did.
00:52:06 So one solution to that is jump in on HelloFresh
00:52:10 and let them kinda do most of the work for you.
00:52:12 The shopping, deliver the food to your door, pre-portion.
00:52:16 All you gotta do, 10, 15 minutes, read the menu card
00:52:19 and you are cooking.
00:52:20 You might wanna kinda pre-diet here,
00:52:22 heading into Christmas before things get out of control.
00:52:25 Get onto a low carb diet or a low calorie
00:52:29 or high protein or whatever you want.
00:52:31 Customize your meals.
00:52:33 And best thing of all,
00:52:35 when you go to hellofresh.com/clnsfree,
00:52:38 free, what's free?
00:52:41 Breakfast for life, free breakfast.

00:52:58 Check it out.
00:52:59 Jimmy, back to you.
00:53:00 Nope, nope, Jimmy had the floor.
00:53:02 I interrupted him.
00:53:03 - Oh, Bobby.
00:53:04 - I had a HelloFresh point.
00:53:05 - All right, fine.
00:53:06 - Oh, okay.
00:53:07 I'll leave that on the screen then.
00:53:11 - Yeah, leave that there.
00:53:12 This is bonus ad.
00:53:13 - Just got my box.
00:53:15 I heard free item and I thought-
00:53:17 - You ordered it for the Wednesday before Thanksgiving?
00:53:21 - Yeah, for after.
00:53:23 - Okay, go ahead.
00:53:25 - Kind of a power move.
00:53:26 He's not doing leftovers.
00:53:27 - All right, so what happened?
00:53:28 It's not just breakfast, tell us.
00:53:30 - It wasn't just like one banana or something in there,
00:53:33 like one little item.
00:53:34 It was muffins piled up, like six muffins, 10 egg bites.
00:53:41 I mean, my box was just full of breakfast for like weeks.
00:53:44 So I was blown away.
00:53:47 I'll have a little video unboxing
00:53:50 that I'll post after the show.
00:53:51 - For life, Bobby.
00:53:52 - Oh, yeah.
00:53:53 - You unboxed the breakfast for life?
00:53:57 - Yes, it was really fun.
00:53:59 - I love that.
00:54:00 - And I tried the meat package this time instead of the fish.
00:54:03 So I'm trying something different.
00:54:05 Burger in there.
00:54:07 - Tell us one thing you got.
00:54:09 - I haven't tried any of them yet
00:54:10 'cause again, Thanksgiving, but-
00:54:11 - Yeah, it was Shepherd's pie.
00:54:13 - What did you get?
00:54:14 Give us-
00:54:15 - There was like a big pub burger, I remember.
00:54:17 There was like a pork and rice dish in there too.
00:54:20 Handful of stuff.
00:54:22 - Those burgers are delicious.
00:54:24 - Don't give it all away.
00:54:24 We want people to like it.
00:54:25 - So I'm gonna post that after the show.
00:54:27 Everyone can see me unbox it.
00:54:29 The muffin was amazing.
00:54:33 I actually had one at Shootaround the other day, John,
00:54:35 when we both went, the one with the banana muffins
00:54:38 'cause I just had to run out of the house.
00:54:40 - So that's good stuff.
00:54:41 - Yeah, I mean, I-
00:54:43 - I love how muffins are breakfast.
00:54:45 It's basically cake, it's just cake.
00:54:47 - Yeah, it's pretty much cake for breakfast, yeah.
00:54:49 It's so cheap.
00:54:49 (all laughing)
00:54:51 - I'm more of a muffin top guy.
00:54:52 I'll just cut the tops off.
00:54:54 I'm not even dealing with-
00:54:54 - That's a good point.
00:54:56 Yeah, that underneath stuff all just crumbles everywhere.
00:54:58 - It's good.
00:54:59 (all laughing)
00:55:02 - Banana's underrated though.
00:55:04 Banana's underrated.
00:55:05 - Yeah.
00:55:06 - Banana, I think is properly rated.
00:55:09 It's pretty popular.
00:55:10 - Banana muffin?
00:55:10 - No, no, I'm talking about the muffin.
00:55:12 The muffin though.
00:55:12 I feel like the muffins is slept on.
00:55:14 - Oh, banana muffin.
00:55:14 - Yeah, we'll sleep on the-
00:55:15 - It has some walnuts on it.
00:55:17 - Especially with the walnuts on it.
00:55:18 - I hate it a lot.
00:55:19 - That's my shirt.
00:55:20 - I say this about cooking,
00:55:23 but actually as soon as this show is over,
00:55:24 I have to go cook again.
00:55:26 - Oh, geez.
00:55:27 - We, one of our desserts was such a big hit
00:55:31 that we had to leave.
00:55:32 - I've got turkey sandwiches coming up.
00:55:34 - Yeah, we had to leave them.
00:55:35 We had to-
00:55:36 - Pie part two.
00:55:37 - No, it was the pecan pie brownies.
00:55:40 We had to disperse them.
00:55:41 And people in this house really wanted them.
00:55:44 So we're making another batch tonight.
00:55:46 They were the winner.
00:55:50 - There were no brownies at mine.
00:55:52 I'm gonna have to make those next year.
00:55:53 - Ranking the items, those were the clear cut winner.
00:55:57 And Laura liked the pie this year.
00:55:59 Last year, she was, she just right through the heart.
00:56:02 - Yeah, you guys almost had a-
00:56:05 - A little bit of counseling, you know,
00:56:07 and we got through it.
00:56:09 - Yeah, yeah, you got past it.
00:56:11 Yeah, it's good.
00:56:12 It's good.
00:56:13 - To the past, you know.
00:56:14 - To the past.
00:56:14 - Ingredients-
00:56:15 - We put a lot of time into it, yeah.
00:56:16 - Ingredients shifted a bit, just enough.
00:56:18 Yeah.
00:56:20 - So that's it.
00:56:22 - So yeah, before I was rudely cut off
00:56:25 by the "Hella Fresh" ad,
00:56:26 all I was going to say was,
00:56:28 the only thing I can think of about Steven's not playing,
00:56:32 and this is based on nothing, like everything I say,
00:56:36 but the only thing I can think of
00:56:38 is that he's maybe not practicing hard enough or-
00:56:41 - That cannot be the case.
00:56:42 - Good enough to earn that play-
00:56:44 - So he's the last guy on the roster,
00:56:47 and he's just like, "I'm done in practice."
00:56:50 (laughing)
00:56:52 - I agree with Jimmy.
00:56:53 That's the case a lot in football, almost always.
00:56:56 You're like, "Why is this guy playing?"
00:56:57 'Cause they're watching him, and they're like,
00:56:59 "This-
00:56:59 - So I think it's the screening, John.
00:57:00 - This guy doesn't get it.
00:57:02 - You know how important the screening is for them?
00:57:04 He must not be getting it.
00:57:06 And I did talk to him in camp,
00:57:07 and he said that's not something he's done a lot of before.
00:57:09 So if he's not shooting well in practice,
00:57:12 maybe that's part of it too.
00:57:13 - Just stand there.
00:57:14 Just stand there.
00:57:14 Screening, that's the hard part?
00:57:18 Really?
00:57:19 How about everything else about the game?
00:57:20 - Well, these guys, none of these guys off the bench
00:57:23 are gonna be scorers and creators for them.
00:57:25 These are all role guys
00:57:26 who are gonna have to defend, rebound, screen.
00:57:30 That's really all you have off this bench.
00:57:32 And we even said going into the year,
00:57:33 none of us were mistaken with what they had here.
00:57:36 There was no one off this bench
00:57:37 who was gonna come in and do a ton for them,
00:57:40 be a versatile player like a Malcolm Brogdon or like a Rob.
00:57:44 These are all minimum guys.
00:57:46 So you're getting minimum production.
00:57:48 I did love Brogdon.
00:57:49 He brought a lot.
00:57:50 - I can tell.
00:57:51 - You just hate holiday, and that's fine.
00:57:55 - I don't hate him.
00:57:58 - Oh, maybe there's a connection there, John.
00:58:00 - Maybe that's Luke.
00:58:01 - Yeah.
00:58:02 Okay.
00:58:03 Well, we talked about screening.
00:58:05 We've talked about the Patriots.
00:58:08 We've talked about baking.
00:58:10 We've talked about muffins.
00:58:11 And I think we're gonna wrap it.
00:58:13 I think that's it.
00:58:14 (laughing)
00:58:17 - When do they play?
00:58:17 I don't think they play the Magic again for a while,
00:58:19 fortunately for them.
00:58:21 And I don't think they go to Orlando again this year.
00:58:25 - Yes.
00:58:26 - I just read that.
00:58:27 I was like, is John gonna put that up?
00:58:28 Yep, he is.
00:58:29 - I was like, I honestly didn't know we were rated.
00:58:31 I didn't know we were rated at all.
00:58:34 So I'm happy.
00:58:36 That means somebody out there is saying something good
00:58:38 about us, which is surprising on its own right.
00:58:40 So I view this as a win.
00:58:43 What's up, Bobby?
00:58:44 - The Celtics have back to back games against the Magic
00:58:48 in just a couple of weeks on the 15th and the 17th.
00:58:51 So they're back two times in a row.
00:58:56 - Are any of them tournament games?
00:58:59 - No, the tournament ends Tuesday.
00:59:00 - Oh, that's too bad.
00:59:02 (laughing)
00:59:05 - Let's wrap with that.
00:59:06 Once again, let me give you a little tournament update now.
00:59:11 - Tuesday?
00:59:12 - So the Celtics group, they're both two and one.
00:59:14 I think the Nets are two and one.
00:59:14 - If you get us a point differential, I'm gonna lose it.
00:59:17 (laughing)
00:59:18 - That's right where I'm going.
00:59:19 (laughing)
00:59:22 This is where we lose everybody.
00:59:24 - Go ahead, Bobby.
00:59:26 - You're overrated, Jimmy, David.
00:59:28 - You, the Nets, and the Magic are all two and one.
00:59:33 - Wish you could navigate the betting field
00:59:35 with the confidence of a pro?

00:59:59 Go get it at oddsr.com/celtics.
01:00:02 - It's oddsr.com/celtics.
01:00:05 (upbeat music)
01:00:08 (laughing)
01:00:11 - Yes, yeah.
01:00:12 - And I'm thinking we got kicked off the air.
01:00:15 - You got tangoed, Bobby.
01:00:16 - You got tangoed.
01:00:17 - You got Gary rolled.
01:00:19 - Boom.
01:00:20 - You got tangoed.
01:00:21 - Are you gonna say that after every time?
01:00:23 - That's the new feature about our show,
01:00:26 is getting tangoed.
01:00:27 If you come incorrect,
01:00:31 (laughing)
01:00:33 - All right, here we go.
01:00:36 (laughing)
01:00:39 - He's speechless.
01:00:41 We got him speechless.
01:00:43 - This is where you're at right now.
01:00:45 So you need to win this group to move on,
01:00:47 or you need to be the wild card.
01:00:49 And the tiebreaker's point differential.
01:00:52 So you've really screwed yourself tonight.
01:00:54 If you're gonna be in a tie with one of these teams,
01:00:56 and you probably will be,
01:00:57 'cause I don't think the Raptors are gonna beat the Nets,
01:01:00 you're 22 points behind the Magic,
01:01:02 'cause of the way you played late in this game.
01:01:04 So if you lose on Tuesday,
01:01:07 you're pretty much out no matter what.
01:01:09 And even if you win,
01:01:11 you're gonna have to vie with the Knicks,
01:01:13 the Cavs, Keith, or Bucks.
01:01:17 - You have to vie with them?
01:01:18 - No, your point differential.
01:01:21 You don't even play them.
01:01:21 So it's just who has the most biggest point differential
01:01:24 out of those three, four teams.
01:01:26 It's gonna be the wild card team.
01:01:27 - Got you, okay.
01:01:30 - So you're saying that their chances are slim now?
01:01:32 - Yeah.
01:01:33 - If they lose the next one, right?
01:01:34 That's what you're saying.
01:01:35 - No, if they lose the next one, they're done.
01:01:36 Even if they win, their chances are slim.
01:01:39 - Yeah, how much?
01:01:41 - It's because the Magic have pulled on their opponents.
01:01:43 - Bobby showed more heart powering through this
01:01:46 and putting up that chart than the Celtics showed
01:01:48 in the second half tonight.
01:01:49 So that's, Bobby gets the brownie for sure tonight.
01:01:53 - So there you go.
01:01:55 They're probably not going in to see the tournament.
01:01:57 - I don't think half the players on the team
01:01:59 are gonna know that.
01:02:00 - When are we gonna find out?
01:02:00 Tuesday, we're gonna find out?
01:02:02 - I don't know if their game's next Thursday too.
01:02:04 Tuesday might be it, but yeah,
01:02:06 it's been Tuesday and Thursday, I think.
01:02:08 - And then what?
01:02:10 It matters, it still matters for a bunch of teams,
01:02:12 but for them, it's just like a nothingness
01:02:14 that we have to work with.
01:02:16 - No, they're gonna play other teams
01:02:17 that missed the tournament if.
01:02:19 - Yeah, but just means nothing though
01:02:22 for everybody else, right?
01:02:23 They just become regular season games.
01:02:25 - Yeah, all the games are regular season games
01:02:26 except the championship.
01:02:28 - Yeah, I know that, I know that,
01:02:30 but it's just, there's nothing else to it.
01:02:32 - No, you just play some other games if you don't make it.
01:02:36 - Bobby, how did you not make lemon squares
01:02:37 for Thanksgiving?
01:02:38 - I didn't get the recipe from Luke.
01:02:41 - That's a good question.
01:02:42 - How did you not get the recipe from Luke?
01:02:45 You guys have had many-
01:02:46 - He gets pissed when Bobby brings it up.
01:02:48 - I didn't get the recipe.
01:02:50 That's probably the biggest question I should ask
01:02:52 that I didn't, was the recipe.
01:02:54 - It's Christmas.
01:02:56 - He actually hates that this is a thing on our show.
01:02:59 - Add a little like red,
01:03:01 like a little cranberry on top or something.
01:03:03 Make it Christmas.
01:03:04 - Yeah, I'm curious.
01:03:05 I know O'Shea's grandma cooked for the team recently.
01:03:08 So they've had a lot of people.
01:03:11 - Good story there.
01:03:12 Little sidebar.
01:03:13 - Yeah, a lot of people cooking for them.
01:03:14 So Luke's up there, but he's got some competition now.
01:03:19 - Okay.
01:03:21 - Kid deserved to get tangled today.
01:03:22 You know what?
01:03:23 Walker Phillips asked me how my five-
01:03:24 - I knew Jimmy was saving that.
01:03:25 - Last week you were asking, Walker.
01:03:27 - I got one more question for you guys.
01:03:29 - Give Jimmy his opportunity.
01:03:31 - Bobby's like Jalen right here.
01:03:34 Like it doesn't matter what the rest of us are doing.
01:03:37 He's just gonna, I'm just gonna get my shots up.
01:03:40 Like let the guy-
01:03:41 - Look at Bobby getting Jalen in the hat right now.
01:03:44 (all laughing)
01:03:46 You're just cooking on your own, huh?
01:03:47 All right.
01:03:48 - No, no.
01:03:49 - It's all good.
01:03:50 - Bobby's over it.
01:03:51 - We're good, man.
01:03:52 Just let us know when you're ready.
01:03:53 - The 5K went well.
01:03:54 - Yeah, we're good.
01:03:55 - We're good.
01:03:56 - We're good.
01:03:57 - The 5K went well.
01:03:58 I ran it, actually ran it with my mom.
01:04:00 Shout out, mom.
01:04:02 I trust her, but I got it in the bag.
01:04:04 (all laughing)
01:04:06 715 mile, 2231 was my time.
01:04:09 It was a little muddy on the trail, but we had a good time.
01:04:13 This is about 1200 people.
01:04:14 I came in 77.
01:04:16 So there you go.
01:04:16 - Good work, Jimmy.
01:04:18 - You're a guy who runs-
01:04:19 - And I was 30 seconds better than last year's time.
01:04:23 So I'm aging like fine wine.
01:04:26 What I told Bobby was, Bobby, don't eat the media-
01:04:28 - That was good advice.
01:04:30 - The media dining hall food.
01:04:32 You just don't wanna-
01:04:34 - Joe Sway knows what I've been struggling with.
01:04:36 The brownies in there are just irresistible.
01:04:38 - Oh yeah.
01:04:39 (all laughing)
01:04:40 - Cut that out.
01:04:41 Cut that out immediately.
01:04:43 Stick to the proteins.
01:04:45 If the media-
01:04:46 - They've had good proteins in there.
01:04:48 - They do a sirloin, they do a chicken.
01:04:50 You can do that.
01:04:51 Stay away from the pasta.
01:04:52 Stay away from the desserts.
01:04:53 I know you're a fish guy, so do the fish.
01:04:55 - Yeah, he knows how to fish.
01:04:56 - Jason, DM me.
01:04:57 I'll just send you the recipe.
01:04:59 I adjusted one.
01:05:01 I'll send you what I got.
01:05:02 - Jimmy, I got one more question for you.
01:05:04 - Wait, no, we can come out of here.
01:05:07 - Just for me, I'm listening.
01:05:09 - Are you starting to get more concerned with the team
01:05:11 than you were coming into this year?
01:05:13 - It only matters what you think, Jimmy, so go ahead.
01:05:15 - No pressure.
01:05:18 - The whole opinion of the state of the-
01:05:20 - You got the whole thing.
01:05:22 (all laughing)
01:05:25 - I wouldn't say concerned because, listen,
01:05:27 I didn't expect them to lose two games this year.
01:05:30 There's gonna be ebbs and flows to the season.
01:05:32 Every team goes through them.
01:05:34 I think we're finding flaws within,
01:05:35 but Bobby, I'm not gonna ignore the fact
01:05:37 that they were without Holiday
01:05:38 and they were without Porzingis for part of this game.
01:05:41 And we already know that if they aren't gonna be
01:05:42 fully healthy for the playoffs,
01:05:44 they're not deep enough.
01:05:45 They're not good enough.
01:05:46 So I think what we're finding out is that that's true
01:05:50 'cause we already thought it to be true.
01:05:51 And I think we're gonna find out
01:05:53 that if Holiday's gonna miss a few games here
01:05:55 and if Porzingis' MRI comes back, he needs a couple games,
01:05:58 these aren't gonna be walk-in-the-park games
01:06:00 like we've seen in certain cases.
01:06:02 They're gonna be tough games.
01:06:03 And the other thing we know
01:06:04 is that the regular season means very little.
01:06:07 So it's hard to know what you've got
01:06:09 until the playoffs roll around.
01:06:11 I think we know what they're capable of,
01:06:14 and that's a great thing
01:06:15 'cause we know what they're capable of
01:06:16 and they're capable of being, I would say,
01:06:18 the best team in the league.
01:06:20 But showing up is a different story.
01:06:22 So no, I'm not concerned yet.
01:06:23 There's way too many games left for me to be concerned.
01:06:25 - All right.
01:06:26 - What about you, Jalen?
01:06:30 - You just spoke for us, man.
01:06:31 You spoke for the whole team.
01:06:32 - No, I'm good.
01:06:33 - That was me as Jalen passing to Porzingis, Jimmy.
01:06:38 - That's it.
01:06:38 I only passed to one guy.
01:06:40 - That's it, that's it.
01:06:41 - You're the luckiest look on the floor.
01:06:43 - Can we get Steven to look?
01:06:45 - Luckiest tip of the morning.
01:06:46 No, I mean, the only thing that I'm concerned about now,
01:06:50 a little concerned about is what this team looks like
01:06:52 without Porzingis.
01:06:53 And I'm not, again, I'm not saying,
01:06:55 oh, he's gonna miss the next five games or whatever,
01:06:57 but they look very different, right?
01:06:59 I think they have to just sort of figure that part out,
01:07:03 especially 'cause there's gonna be plenty of games
01:07:05 where he has to rest.
01:07:06 And as you get towards the playoffs,
01:07:08 he's not gonna play anywhere near 70 plus games this season.
01:07:12 So yeah, I think that's my only cause for concern,
01:07:15 or at least coming out of this loss,
01:07:17 is how different this team is on both ends without him,
01:07:20 but especially on the offense, how limited they are
01:07:23 and how I get flashbacks of last season
01:07:25 and not in a good way, not in a good sense.
01:07:26 So yeah, no holiday, no Porzingis,
01:07:29 you're obviously gonna be,
01:07:30 you're gonna look much different,
01:07:31 but I just think they have to,
01:07:33 from the front court standpoint,
01:07:35 figure out or at least strengthen their approach
01:07:38 when he's not available, when he's not there,
01:07:40 when he's not in the mix.
01:07:42 But that's it.
01:07:42 Overall, no, I'm not concerned about this team,
01:07:45 but when Porzingis isn't there,
01:07:47 they look, they're a different team, for sure.
01:07:50 They gotta figure that out.
01:07:52 - It sounds like Bobby, it sounds like Bobby
01:07:54 might be slightly, I would say slightly concerned.
01:07:57 - Oh yeah, for sure.
01:07:58 - Or he wouldn't have asked.
01:07:59 - Yeah, I think it's similar to last year.
01:08:01 - I don't know if it's a point,
01:08:02 what we need Bobby, but this is concern Bobby, for sure.
01:08:05 - Yeah, no, I think early they were very shooting reliant
01:08:10 and he did find some other things like post-ups
01:08:12 to mitigate that, when it did go down a little bit,
01:08:16 but you're still very ISO heavy.
01:08:19 Your passing hasn't been there consistently.
01:08:22 And the turnovers are pretty high too.
01:08:23 I feel like they've turned the ball over
01:08:25 a lot early this year.
01:08:26 So have they found a functional, consistent offense?
01:08:30 With Porzingis in there, I think so.
01:08:33 As Joe Sway said, when he's not,
01:08:35 it's gonna really start to get shaky.
01:08:38 - I'll tell you this though, what's becoming clear.
01:08:42 - John, what do you think?
01:08:43 (all laughing)
01:08:48 - I'm not even giving my full opinion.
01:08:50 I'm just piggybacking off of what Bobby said with Porzingis.
01:08:53 It's interesting, right?
01:08:55 How Porzingis became so essential.
01:09:00 That essentially means that they weren't gonna be able
01:09:04 to do it just with Tatum and Brown again.
01:09:06 And like, this is what we fought people on for years.
01:09:10 Are these two good enough to do it?
01:09:12 And I do believe that the off season kind of, sort of,
01:09:18 was resounding, you know, exclamation for Brad.
01:09:22 - Once they lost to the Heat the way they did,
01:09:24 that was it for me.
01:09:25 - It was kind of like, no.
01:09:26 I think everyone kind of reached it.
01:09:28 And to the point was like, should you trade one or the other?
01:09:30 You couldn't really, 'cause you weren't trading Tatum
01:09:32 and Brown was untradable in a contract year
01:09:34 and he was getting his super max.
01:09:36 So they had no choice but to bring those back,
01:09:38 but they recognized we need a lot more.
01:09:41 So you traded core players to get much, much, much better.
01:09:45 And now you've got everybody saying things like,
01:09:48 well, they can't do it without Porzingis.
01:09:50 I think that kind of goes back to what we were saying before
01:09:52 which was, when it's just the Jays,
01:09:56 them reverting back to old tendencies
01:09:59 and having some redundancy is always a concern, right?
01:10:02 So the supporting cast is essential
01:10:04 because you have other people who can pick up the slack,
01:10:06 more offensive options, but also hopefully people
01:10:08 that can just play it cool, you know,
01:10:11 and do the right thing and make the right basketball play,
01:10:15 which sadly the Jays can't always be counted upon to do.
01:10:19 And that's what's kind of scary and frustrating about them
01:10:22 is they always lean back into their worst tendencies
01:10:24 when things get hard instead of kind of buckling up
01:10:27 and getting after it.
01:10:28 - I see the numbers, John.
01:10:29 - Every time you see them do these games,
01:10:32 have Tatum have these kind of lazy half show up,
01:10:35 half not show up sort of games
01:10:37 like he had tonight and the other day.
01:10:39 And then Brown just kind of go into ISO mode
01:10:42 and shots not fall and he just kind of shoot his way
01:10:44 out of it.
01:10:45 That stuff is always like, ah, God, I've seen this
01:10:48 too many times. - I've seen the numbers, John.
01:10:49 - Yeah.
01:10:50 - 0.9 assists per game combined back and forth
01:10:53 between Brown and Tatum.
01:10:54 - Yeah.
01:10:55 - And even the Brown-Porzingis combo
01:10:59 that everyone's doing back flips over is just 2.1 a game.
01:11:02 And then Tatum-Porzingis is like 1.4.
01:11:05 So overall their assists rate very low,
01:11:07 their passing low, their turnover rate higher
01:11:10 than you want it to be.
01:11:14 - It was a lead offense to start the year.
01:11:16 And in fact, I'll actually look at where it ranks now
01:11:18 coming out of this one.
01:11:20 I'd have to think it's out of the top five at this point.
01:11:23 - Yeah, so that's the problem is you kind of need them all
01:11:27 because you need when it's not going right in one place,
01:11:31 other people can right the ship.
01:11:33 When it falls back on Tatum and Brown,
01:11:35 sometimes yes, sometimes no.
01:11:36 So that's kind of always been the thing.
01:11:39 - They're down to ninth in offense.
01:11:41 - Yeah.
01:11:43 - Six and shooting, turnover rate.
01:11:46 - Be Brown, be Brown, give us your take.
01:11:48 Let's see what you got.
01:11:49 You got a good take?
01:11:50 Tell us your take.
01:11:51 Don't tell us you have a good take.
01:11:53 Tell us what your take is.
01:11:54 - I got the best recipe.
01:11:55 I'm not gonna share it.
01:11:56 (laughing)
01:11:58 - Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:11:59 Tell us it.
01:12:02 - Running out of time here to get this.
01:12:04 - You'd be hung up on, you would have been hung up on.
01:12:06 - Yeah.
01:12:07 - All right, Hawks on Sunday.
01:12:09 That could be fun.
01:12:11 - Is that one home?
01:12:12 - Oh my gosh.
01:12:12 - Yeah, home game.
01:12:14 - Seven game?
01:12:14 - Which version of 21 shows it?
01:12:17 - What time is the Hawks game?
01:12:17 - Six.
01:12:19 - Okay.
01:12:20 - Which I wish was the time for every single NBA game.
01:12:22 - What time's the toilet bowl one?
01:12:24 - Six.
01:12:25 - Yeah, I'll be pulling double duty that day.
01:12:28 - The toilet bowl, love that.
01:12:29 - I didn't know what you were talking about for a second,
01:12:30 but now I do.
01:12:31 - Yeah.
01:12:32 - DeVito, is Matt,
01:12:33 John, is Matt gonna start and finish that game?
01:12:36 - Start, yes.
01:12:37 Finish, maybe.
01:12:38 - So Tommy DeVito.
01:12:40 I don't think points.
01:12:43 What's the point?
01:12:44 - What's the point of benching the guy?
01:12:45 - The point is only when he's so bad,
01:12:47 you have no choice but to bench him.
01:12:49 But the other guys are so bad,
01:12:51 they don't belong in the league.
01:12:52 - That's what I mean.
01:12:53 You don't have a real backup.
01:12:55 - Yeah.
01:12:56 - And at this point,
01:12:58 if you're just gonna keep trying them out there
01:12:59 after the fact,
01:13:00 then benching him for a cold backup who's worse,
01:13:02 isn't, it's like a spanking more than,
01:13:06 it's like you're punishing him.
01:13:08 - If you wanna lose, keep sending them out there.
01:13:10 I don't think there's any problem with that.
01:13:13 But Tommy DeVito played at Syracuse while I was there.
01:13:17 I thought he was awful.
01:13:19 They benched him for some transfer backup.
01:13:22 He transferred immediately to Illinois
01:13:25 and then became an NFL quarterback.
01:13:27 I never in a million years thought we'd see Tommy DeVito
01:13:29 on NFL field, but here he is.
01:13:31 - He played well last week.
01:13:32 - Have you known who he is for more than 15 minutes?
01:13:35 'Cause I just found out he existed.
01:13:36 - He went to Syracuse while I was there.
01:13:39 - Okay.
01:13:40 There it is.
01:13:41 - Yeah, I know.
01:13:42 Otherwise you wouldn't know.
01:13:43 That's why every media guy's probably so nice to him
01:13:46 'cause they're all Syracuse grads.
01:13:48 - I thought he was horrible at Syracuse,
01:13:51 but it was the coach.
01:13:52 - Can he shoot better than Brissette?
01:13:53 (laughing)
01:13:55 - Yeah, seriously.
01:13:56 - That Brissette thing bums me out.
01:13:59 - I'll be honest.
01:14:00 I'm not gonna watch a second.
01:14:01 - It's not over Bobby.
01:14:02 - I'm not gonna waste my Sunday.
01:14:03 I think a lot of people feel the way I feel.
01:14:05 I'm not gonna waste my Sunday.
01:14:06 - Why would you waste your time?
01:14:08 There's gonna be some other good games.
01:14:09 - Then again, yesterday's games weren't that great either.
01:14:13 - Yesterday's games were not that great.
01:14:14 I was disappointed in the Seahawks last night.
01:14:16 - They really were.
01:14:17 - I thought they were gonna show up, but they didn't.
01:14:20 - There are so many bad teams.
01:14:22 Imagine if there were like 20 NBA teams
01:14:24 and every night it was just,
01:14:25 oh, here's another bad team.
01:14:26 Celtics just gonna roll.
01:14:28 - Bobby pulled off a frigging pick six with his Dallas D
01:14:31 with four minutes left yesterday.
01:14:33 Got a 50 yard moster touchdown
01:14:36 with four minutes to go in this game.
01:14:38 - Just a free like 17 points.
01:14:40 Yeah, I'm ending on a fantasy ramp.
01:14:42 Ridiculous.
01:14:43 - But you're still in the mix though, John.
01:14:45 You're still in the mix.
01:14:45 - I know, but this is just get just freebie points.
01:14:48 You know?
01:14:49 (laughing)
01:14:50 - I'm gonna actually--
01:14:50 - I like my team a lot this year.
01:14:51 I'm not amazing, but we got some underrated guys.
01:14:55 - I'm gonna tour.
01:14:56 I'm actually playing Sherrod this week
01:14:57 and I'm gonna tour on him.
01:14:58 He might be the worst fantasy manager in the game.
01:15:01 - Who's ever lived.
01:15:02 - He might be getting relegated.
01:15:03 (laughing)
01:15:05 - Sherrod drafts his team and immediately
01:15:08 they just run to the bottom of the standings
01:15:10 and stay there.
01:15:11 Like, I think Yahoo knows no matter what,
01:15:14 even his zero and zero team starts
01:15:17 at the bottom of the standings
01:15:18 'cause it's just easier than having to move him later.
01:15:21 - But I wanna say he reached last season's win total
01:15:24 by like week four.
01:15:25 And then it's just been all downhill since then.
01:15:27 So like in the beginning, he wasn't last technically,
01:15:30 but you kind of knew he was going in that direction.
01:15:33 - Sherrod, yeah, Sherrod needs help.
01:15:34 He even has Dak and he had Dak on his bench this week.
01:15:36 He started Lamar Jackson over Dak
01:15:38 and Dak went off for 40 points yesterday.
01:15:41 - He drafts two defenses.
01:15:42 That's not great.
01:15:43 - Yeah, I would just put that one in there.
01:15:45 - I'm gonna just charge it.
01:15:46 (laughing)
01:15:48 - I think I have a chance this year.
01:15:50 We'll see.
01:15:52 - I think he drafts two defenses
01:15:54 and just kept them for the years.
01:15:56 - We'll talk to him about it.
01:16:00 - I hate to see it.
01:16:01 - All right, people.
01:16:01 We're gonna wrap it.
01:16:02 Thanks for hanging out.
01:16:03 Have a good rest of your long weekend here.
01:16:07 - Yeah.
01:16:09 - Make some sandwiches.
01:16:10 - I'm doing a turkey sandwich right after this, dude.
01:16:14 Turkey, stuffing, gravy, a little cranberry sauce.
01:16:19 - Can I tell you what else to put in it?
01:16:23 - Yes, you do.
01:16:24 - What else?
01:16:25 - Please do.
01:16:26 - A little bit of mayo.
01:16:27 - A little bit of--
01:16:29 - You did that.
01:16:29 You did that at the end, right?
01:16:30 - I said mayo.
01:16:31 - Okay, yeah, he did.
01:16:32 He did.
01:16:33 - I didn't do the mayo.
01:16:34 - I didn't.
01:16:34 There was no--
01:16:35 - The mayo, yeah.
01:16:36 - I had no problem with the mayo part.
01:16:37 - Minus the seawater.
01:16:38 - It was just the one before that.
01:16:40 - I get it.
01:16:41 - The cranberry sauce.
01:16:41 Yeah, I can...
01:16:43 Joe Sway did say that.
01:16:44 That was his hot--
01:16:45 - Controversial theory.
01:16:46 - His controversial take a couple of games ago
01:16:50 is that don't take a Thanksgiving dinner
01:16:53 and just stick it in a sub.
01:16:55 That's not--
01:16:55 - Well, no, not that.
01:16:57 I'm saying never mix the cranberry
01:16:59 with the gravy and turkey and all that.
01:17:00 No.
01:17:01 - I will say--
01:17:02 - Yeah, so don't take a Thanksgiving meal
01:17:05 and put it in a sandwich.
01:17:06 That's what you would be doing.
01:17:07 - Oh, you would be--
01:17:08 - I do sandwiches all day, yeah.
01:17:10 I'm not putting cranberry sauce in them.
01:17:12 I do sandwiches just like the leftover thing.
01:17:14 Yeah, I do that.
01:17:15 No, I love cranberry sauce, but not mixed in together.
01:17:19 Cranberry sauce is almost like a pre-dessert.
01:17:23 - So you're just spooning cranberry sauce out of the can,
01:17:26 like raw.
01:17:27 You're not mixing it--
01:17:28 - No, crushed.
01:17:29 - How long do you think we can have this conversation
01:17:31 and get the viewers all the way down to zero?
01:17:33 How many of you guys would hang for the whole--
01:17:35 - Fantasy.
01:17:35 - 40 minutes maybe.
01:17:36 - Fantasy would get us there.
01:17:37 - 40 minutes.
01:17:38 - I would do it.
01:17:39 I have another, I've got another 30 minutes.
01:17:41 I mean, I could get this thing.
01:17:42 - Can we drain you guys to zero?
01:17:44 - Yeah, how much I cringe.
01:17:46 Yeah, whenever someone--
01:17:47 - I love getting to hang through this stuff, yeah.
01:17:48 - 20 minutes in, I'll have the ocean spray can out.
01:17:50 I'll be like, look, so this is what I'm talking about.
01:17:52 - There's--
01:17:53 (laughing)
01:17:54 - I'll just keep going in.
01:17:55 - This is gross.
01:17:56 - You got the can opener.
01:17:57 You got the electric can opener
01:18:00 or you doing manual still?
01:18:01 'Cause I've seen both.
01:18:03 I don't know, I'm still manual.
01:18:04 I don't open up enough cans except what the heck.
01:18:07 But if I did, it would be manual.
01:18:11 I don't need the electric one.
01:18:12 I'm not that lazy.
01:18:14 - I do manual for tuna.
01:18:16 - But be smart about it.
01:18:17 Go get real bread.
01:18:18 Don't put your shit through two pieces of Wonder Bread.
01:18:22 Like, go get a nice roll, like a--
01:18:25 - What, you already got the baguette out?
01:18:27 (laughing)
01:18:29 - No, no, no, like--
01:18:31 - Like a ciabatta?
01:18:31 - No, no, yeah, a ciabatta or like one of those big bowls
01:18:36 and slice it and maybe even grill it a little
01:18:38 to create a little bit of texture, just lightly.
01:18:41 (laughing)
01:18:42 - Too much work.
01:18:42 - No, and then--
01:18:43 - Why don't you make it from scratch, Jimmy?
01:18:46 - And then--
01:18:47 - Yeah, why don't I just--
01:18:48 - Then it'll hold up 'cause the mushy,
01:18:50 there's too much mush in there.
01:18:51 - Yeah, the bread's just gonna--
01:18:53 - The bread's gonna disintegrate.
01:18:55 You won't know where the sandwich ends
01:18:57 and the bread begins.
01:18:58 - Yeah, Wonder Bread can't handle all that.
01:19:01 - You need a little integrity in the bread.
01:19:03 (laughing)
01:19:04 - I'm cool with toasting, I'm cool with toasting bread.
01:19:06 (laughing)
01:19:07 You can do it.
01:19:09 If you just thought like a fun, that's fine.
01:19:12 You know, you can do a little--
01:19:13 - You need structural integrity, okay?
01:19:15 (laughing)
01:19:16 - All right, I'm outta here.
01:19:18 (laughing)
01:19:20 - Hey, come on, Bob, we're not a TV.
01:19:21 Come on, we got time.
01:19:22 (laughing)
01:19:22 - That's where it ends,
01:19:23 the structural integrity of the bread.
01:19:24 It's important.
01:19:25 (laughing)
01:19:28 - It is important.
01:19:28 You don't want it to get soggy either.
01:19:30 - Room goes down.
01:19:31 - You can't put a bunch of stuff in it,
01:19:31 especially cranberry sauce.
01:19:33 Cranberry sauce gets soggy.
01:19:33 - I think we can keep people involved
01:19:35 with that talk more than fantasy.
01:19:36 There's nothing people care about--
01:19:38 - Who gives a crap about fantasy.
01:19:40 - Fantasy team, yeah.
01:19:41 - Unless you're in that league.
01:19:43 - I don't even care about my own fantasy team.
01:19:45 - And people try all the time.
01:19:47 They'll be like, I got this guy, that guy, and that guy.
01:19:49 (laughing)
01:19:50 - Yeah.
01:19:51 - It's like cool, man.
01:19:52 - Yeah.
01:19:53 (laughing)
01:19:54 It's kinda the same with me.
01:19:55 - The only people who care are people in your league.
01:19:57 - Nobody cares.
01:19:58 Not even they care.
01:19:59 - Yeah, nobody don't really.
01:20:00 Unless it's something, yeah, that's true.
01:20:02 - Because we've all suffered it at one point or another.
01:20:04 You know?
01:20:05 So, yeah.
01:20:06 That's okay.
01:20:07 All right, thanks guys for hanging out.
