00:00 G'day, I'm Paul, so we've been reviewing a whole stack of utes lately, so I thought,
00:03 why don't we mix things up a little bit and go with V8 SUV?
00:08 This is the Bentley Bentayga.
00:10 This one here in particular is called the Bentayga S, so it's powered by the twin-turbo
00:16 V8 petrol engine.
00:18 Sounds incredible, by the way.
00:19 This is priced at just over $450,000.
00:21 If that's too expensive, the entire Bentayga range kicks off at under $400,000, thankfully.
00:28 This competes with things like the Lamborghini Urus, the Range Rover, and also the Rolls-Royce
00:33 Cullinan, because you can get this in a W12 as well, which is pretty awesome.
00:37 Now, today we're going to do a detailed review of this car, so if you do want to skip ahead
00:40 to other parts of this review, you can use the time codes on the screen, or if you're
00:44 on YouTube, you can scroll down and use the chapters below, and if you haven't done so
00:47 already, subscribe to our channel and press the bell icon, because that's going to tell
00:51 you every single time we drive something stunning like this.
00:55 So let's talk design.
00:56 This is the part where I would normally tell you how many colours are available.
00:59 Here, it's virtually infinite.
01:02 You can colour match this to anything that you want, and you do have some free colours,
01:07 and then you can spend like $60,000 on optional colours.
01:11 So you do have a stack of choice, and it goes the same with options.
01:14 There are a lot of options on this car.
01:16 I'm not going to bother naming all of them.
01:17 If you are ordering one of these, you will go through the whole bespoke program of fitting
01:22 your car out with whatever options you want, so I'll leave that up to you.
01:25 But I do love the fact here with the S that this has picked up the black pack.
01:29 So black grille, you get black highlights around the lights there.
01:32 Really is quite a sinister looking vehicle, especially here in this red colour.
01:36 It looks absolutely sensational.
01:39 So down the bottom here, you have a big open grille.
01:41 They haven't bothered going down the path of any sort of open and closing louvers.
01:45 This is all about as much cooling as you can get.
01:47 It has a top speed of 290 kilometres an hour, so you can just imagine this thing hoofing
01:52 along at that pace.
01:53 It needs to get as much cooling as it can through that cooling stack.
01:56 You've got a camera down the front there, big Bentley logo up the top, and that black
02:00 finish continues down the bottom here.
02:02 This car also has a night vision camera, and that is where that's nestled in.
02:06 You have Matrix LED headlights.
02:08 I love this design as well.
02:09 It's got like that sort of shimmering crystal look to it, similar to the BMW i7 we looked
02:14 at recently, but buried in there you have all of those elements for the Matrix LED lights,
02:20 and then radars on either side as well.
02:22 Whip around to the side.
02:23 Look at this.
02:24 So 22-inch alloy wheel.
02:27 This is one of the optional wheels that you can get, and this here is in the shape of
02:30 a scythe, which is like the thing you slash wheat and stuff with.
02:35 So pretty sort of cool-looking design there, 22-inch alloy wheel with the satin chrome finish
02:41 there and then piano black on the inside.
02:43 Be there for Bentley.
02:44 Enormous brakes as well.
02:45 Have a look at the size of that caliper on that rotor.
02:48 Very, very impressive.
02:50 Up the top here, more of that black highlight.
02:52 An S badge down here signify that this is the S model.
02:55 Don't get S confused with having more power or torque than the entry-level V8.
02:59 This carries the same.
03:00 It just gets a whole lot more options that a lot of buyers would have specced anyway.
03:04 You do also have Azura, which is kind of like a luxury version of this, and then Speed,
03:09 which is the W12.
03:10 Down at the bottom there you have carbon trim all the way down the side of the car, and
03:14 that carbon trim continues inside and also around the back as well.
03:18 Piano black up the top here, indicator built into there.
03:20 You've also got a camera nestled under there as well.
03:23 Black here instead of chrome.
03:25 Privacy glass.
03:26 Roof rails, and then come around to the back.
03:29 Around the back here you're going to find a shark fin aerial up the top there.
03:32 You've got carbon fibre spoiler just there.
03:36 Stop lamp mounted high up the top there.
03:38 Now this is pretty cool as well.
03:39 So individual Bentley letters.
03:40 You actually open the boot by pushing this, and I'll show you that later on how that works.
03:44 Look at these exhaust pipes.
03:46 So as part of the MY23 changes, this actually got a more sonorous free-flowing exhaust.
03:50 I'm keen to see what that sounds like on the move, but I do love more of that black highlight
03:55 down the bottom there.
03:56 It really is quite sinister looking.
03:57 I also think this got significantly prettier when they did the facelift, because, I don't
04:01 know, when it launched it just didn't really look that nice, whereas the facelift I think
04:05 really just refines it beautifully, and it has so much presence out on the road.
04:09 It is quite an imposing looking thing.
04:11 So let me know what you reckon in the comments section below.
04:13 Do you like the design now that it has been facelifted, or do you think there is still
04:17 a little bit more work to do?
04:19 So we're inside the Bentayga.
04:21 We will kick off with the key.
04:23 So on the back there you've got the Bentley logo, Bentley inscribed around there as well.
04:28 Some of this beautiful sort of knurled finish on the edge of the key, and then on the front
04:32 there you've got unlock, lock, boot, and that's like a rubber finish there.
04:36 So pretty cool looking setup.
04:38 It's a proximity sensing key, so you grab the door handle once you're inside.
04:42 This is your push button start.
04:44 So let's talk about the design.
04:46 So I think this looks beautiful.
04:47 Like they really have gone to so much effort here to just make this look and feel premium.
04:53 You've got leather on virtually all of these surfaces.
04:56 Beautiful Alcantara finish here on the roof, and also options here on the steering wheel
05:00 as well.
05:01 They've even thought about things like these air vents.
05:03 They are in a sort of metallic enclosure, which is really cool, and then you open and
05:08 close them using these little levers here.
05:11 So yeah, it is just a throwback to Bentleys of old, and it just shows me that they're
05:16 actually thinking about this stuff and trying to make it as luxurious as possible.
05:19 The colour palette in here has been very tastefully selected.
05:22 So red on black I think looks fantastic with the red piping there as well.
05:27 So they really have gone to a lot of effort to make this look good.
05:30 You can go wild with the specs here as well, to the point where I think that if you order
05:35 a wild thing from a dealer, they'll probably take like a 50% deposit off you just in case
05:40 you pull out and they can't sell it.
05:41 But yeah, that's sort of exactly what you can do here.
05:44 You can really make it your own.
05:46 I do love the carbon inlays here and along the top there, although I did notice this
05:51 is slightly deformed up the top here.
05:53 So I don't know whether during the manufacturing process someone has damaged that, but a little
05:56 bit disappointed to see a lack of quality there.
05:59 The other thing I really don't love as well is some of these buttons, they just feel a
06:03 bit cheap and, I don't know, just a bit cheap.
06:05 So when you push them, they just don't really sort of feel that nice.
06:08 They've got that sort of plastic finish to them.
06:10 I would have loved to see like a metallic finish to these like you have here on the
06:14 paddle shifters.
06:15 But anyway, minor complaint from me anyway.
06:18 Now what are your touch points like?
06:19 So that is really nice and soft and not too bad on the door.
06:23 How soft are they?
06:24 Well we've got our durometer, we've tested the main surfaces in this cabin.
06:27 If you want to see how this car compares to others that we've tested before, have a look
06:30 at the link in the description below.
06:32 Build quality, it is built like a battle tank.
06:37 Really impressive and then door slam.
06:40 Sounds good now, you will hear that though, when you slam the door, it actually has soft
06:44 close on it as well.
06:45 So if you don't go all the way, it will then just suck in on its own for that premium feel.
06:50 So let's talk about infotainment.
06:52 Central to the cabin is this 10.9 inch infotainment display.
06:57 Look in the context of the rest of its competitors, it's fine, but if you look at where the industry
07:01 is heading, 10.9 inches is pretty small these days.
07:04 The screen ahead of the driver is a bigger 12.3 inch display, so I think as part of a
07:07 future update for Bentayga, they might go with a bigger infotainment display, but for
07:11 the most part, this does the job perfectly fine.
07:14 Located in here, you're going to find inbuilt satellite navigation.
07:18 The screen itself is not too bad, it can be a tiny bit laggy on first start.
07:22 You know, when you're going through the menus and stuff, it's not too bad, it's just sometimes
07:26 you can catch it napping a little bit there.
07:28 In terms of radio, you have AM, FM, DAB digital radio, and then in addition to that, it's
07:34 all plumbed through a 12 speaker sound system.
07:36 Now, like a lot of things on this car, you can go optional with the sound system and
07:40 go bananas.
07:41 The standard 12 speaker sound system is fine, it's sort of nothing too crazy, it does the
07:45 job, but if you do value your sound systems, you're going to want to option one of the
07:49 optional sound systems to get that little bit of extra kick.
07:52 In terms of smartphone mirroring, they've actually gone to town on this.
07:55 So you have wireless Apple CarPlay, I'll show you what that looks like.
07:58 So yeah, full screen integration there, it all looks nice, it's very quick and sharp
08:03 and easy to use.
08:04 And then you also have Android Auto, I'll show you what that looks like.
08:07 So full screen integration again, except this is wired, so not a wireless setup.
08:12 Works nice and fast, no sort of dramas there at all.
08:15 Now let's talk about the screen ahead of the driver really quickly.
08:18 I really like this display because it is based on the rest of the Audi Porsche range that
08:23 this platform is based on, but you do have some sort of custom imagery here.
08:27 So Bentley logo down the bottom there.
08:29 This left side stays static, but then you can go supersized on the right hand side depending
08:34 on which menu you've chosen.
08:35 So you know, it does look sort of custom enough like that, but then you can get that advanced
08:41 sort of tech of having the full screen nav display.
08:44 Let's talk about safety and there's a point here that's going to frustrate me a bit, but
08:47 I'll run you through it anyway.
08:48 So you have autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, that comes standard.
08:53 You also have blind spot detection, which is just located in the wing mirror there.
08:58 You have rear cross traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors and a 360 camera that
09:02 I'll show you in just a second.
09:03 But you have to option what they call the Touring specification, which is some $16,000
09:09 to get lane departure warning with a lane keeping assistant, radar cruise control, which
09:14 I think is just hilarious, a head up display and also night vision, which you can take
09:19 or leave, but it all comes in that one package.
09:21 I think it's just kind of silly that basic safety tech has to be optioned on a car like
09:26 this when you find it on literally like a $20,000 car.
09:30 So anyway, that's kind of frustrating.
09:33 Let's have a look at the camera.
09:34 I'll show you what that looks like.
09:36 So there it is there.
09:37 The quality of that is excellent.
09:38 So you can clearly see what's going on out the front there.
09:40 That's our 360 camera, pretty good resolution there too.
09:43 You can then select individual modes.
09:45 So that is looking out the front there with steering as well, which moves when you move
09:49 the wheel, out the back, and then you can also go a wider angle view on both fronts.
09:54 Love that.
09:55 Look at that.
09:56 The quality of that is fantastic.
09:57 So pretty impressive setup there from the reverse view camera.
09:59 Let's talk about practicality and we'll start off with your connectivity.
10:02 Where are you going to put your phone?
10:03 So phone can live in a number of places.
10:05 You can slot it there, put it in the cup holders if you want, or there is a wireless phone
10:09 charging pad down the front there.
10:12 In terms of actual physical connectivity, you have two USB-C ports in the centre console.
10:16 You also have a 12-volt outlet there as well.
10:20 Storing other things like your coffee cup.
10:22 Doesn't look like they like a small coffee cup here because there's so much clearance
10:28 between the bottom of that that you're going to end up de-lidding that thing if you're
10:31 not careful.
10:32 Actually, this side's okay, but it's still not amazing for my little coffee cup.
10:38 Then water bottle fits into there fine.
10:40 You've got teeth that hold that into position.
10:42 Water bottle fits inside the door too.
10:44 Let's see if our big water bottle fits in.
10:46 Oh yeah, that fits in as well, which is very nice.
10:52 Other storage, you've got this centre console here, nice and deep.
10:56 Not huge, but sort of enough room to put odds and ends.
10:59 This also slides forwards and backwards for a little bit more comfort.
11:02 Over here you have a glove box that is pretty reasonably sized and you also have a little
11:06 bit of storage just off to the side here as well.
11:08 So let's talk comfort.
11:09 It is a Bentley, you want to be comfortable.
11:12 So dual zone automatic climate control up the front here.
11:14 You have heated and cooled seats, a heated steering wheel.
11:18 The seats are pretty cool as well.
11:19 Like you've got this red piping, you've got Alcantara there, the S lettering in the centre
11:25 there as well, and they are really comfortable too.
11:27 They hug you in beautifully.
11:29 You've got a massage function as well, so you hit that button and it brings up your
11:32 massage menu.
11:33 You've got a whole bunch of massages you can pick from.
11:35 But in terms of the seat adjustment, there is literally a litany of adjustment here.
11:39 So forwards, backwards, backrest forwards, backwards.
11:42 You can lift the front, you can lift the back, you can then also bring the front section
11:47 out, you can adjust the bolster.
11:49 There really is just so much you can actually change here and play with while you're driving
11:54 which is pretty awesome.
11:56 And then your steering.
11:57 So it is electrically adjustable for up and down, in and out, and then on the reach front
12:04 all of this stuff is easy to reach while you're driving.
12:07 So let's talk second row here of the Bentayga.
12:10 We'll start off with room.
12:11 I've got acres of knee room, toe room is excellent, headroom is pretty good as well.
12:17 Actually surprised, often with these enormous SUVs there isn't as much room in the second
12:21 row as you would expect, but this actually feels really nice and comfortable.
12:25 Then in addition to that you can adjust the recline on your seat and also pull it forwards
12:30 and backwards if you do need to give yourself a little bit more boot room as well.
12:34 Other creature comforts, you have map pockets in the back here, you have device holder provisions
12:39 up the top, air vents here, again, metallic frame in and out to close those.
12:43 You also have them here at face level too.
12:45 A couple of hooks as well for your coat or overcoat or whatever rich people wear.
12:51 LED lights up the top there as well that are touch sensitive.
12:55 Now down here this is a pretty cool setup.
12:57 So 12 volt outlet, two USB-C charging points, but this is where you control your temperature
13:03 for the duals or the quad zone climate control rather, so one on each side.
13:07 This is also where you control the heated seats for the second row.
13:09 But have a look at this, you have so many other settings you can play with here.
13:12 I can do the blinds from here and then in addition to that if I don't want to bend over
13:16 because it can be a little tiresome, I can eject this little guy and actually make all
13:21 of those changes myself on the screen there.
13:23 So really cool setup, very impressed with that.
13:27 Cup holders, you've got a centre armrest here with two cup holders there, so a bottle fits
13:31 into there, you've got some teeth holding that into place as well.
13:34 Then your bottle can go inside the door too.
13:37 ISOFIX, you have two ISOFIX points and three top tether points as well.
13:41 And finally our window test, does it go all the way down?
13:44 Does more money mean more window down?
13:47 Oh, so close, almost.
13:50 So what's your cargo capacity like?
13:52 You crack it open by pushing that, powered tailgate of course.
13:57 You have just under 500 litres of cargo capacity here before you drop the second row.
14:02 Sort of bad space, it's just quite a high sort of lift from the floor there and then
14:06 if you have a look under the cargo floor you can kind of see why.
14:10 They've got a subwoofer, a computer of some sort, a battery under there.
14:14 You really don't have much more available space to bring this any lower but it does
14:18 mean you can store a few odds and ends under there.
14:21 There is no spare tyre so you do get a tyre repair kit instead.
14:25 So that's what that layout looks like.
14:27 Now this has the optional cargo management system as well so that can slide forwards
14:30 and backwards to stop your things moving around as you go.
14:33 Over here you've got a 12 volt outlet.
14:35 Then in addition to that, if this is too high to load your things in, you can drop the rear
14:39 end just by pushing and holding this.
14:41 That lowers the back of the car all the way down and that means you can sort of get your
14:46 things in and out a little bit easier once it reaches the bottom there.
14:49 I'll show you what it looks like once your bags are in.
14:51 So laptop there, pop our suitcase in there.
14:55 So still have enough room if you do need it.
14:58 Now if you do want a little bit more space, you can drop the second row and that will
15:02 give you access to a little under 1800 litres of cargo space.
15:08 So I've just hit the road in the Bentayga.
15:11 Now I've got to tell you, owning an EV, having driven stacks of EVs as well, this is probably
15:16 as close as you get to an EV in terms of quietness when you're driving at low speed.
15:21 Bentley has absolutely nailed noise suppression.
15:24 And in addition to that, they've really nailed giving you enough of that V8 noise without
15:29 it being overbearing or too much.
15:31 And it is a really fine balance to strike in a car like this.
15:34 You don't want it to be too boomy or annoying, especially at low speeds.
15:37 You don't want it to annoy your neighbours.
15:38 This has a nice delicate bark at start up to let you know that it is a V8.
15:43 And then once you're moving, it is so silent and that's what I really like about it.
15:47 So let's talk about the engine.
15:48 This is a pretty common engine to the Volkswagen Group range.
15:52 It's a twin turbocharged 4.0-litre V8.
15:54 You're going to find this engine in Cayenne.
15:57 You'll also find this engine in things like Urus.
15:59 So it is common to that family, RS Q8 as well.
16:03 In this particular spec, it produces just over 400 kilowatts of power, a little under
16:07 800 newton metres of torque, and it's mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
16:13 It is the perfect combo because there is no dual clutch there to annoy you, and it is
16:17 such a nice and smooth gearbox that you really rarely ever notice it actually doing anything.
16:23 So it is pretty impressive from that regard.
16:26 Now in terms of fuel economy, it is a V8, so do expect it to be high.
16:31 The official claim is 13 litres per 100km.
16:34 Just because of the way today turned out, we did all of our on-road driving filming
16:38 right at the end of the day, so I've had a bit of fun with the car, and it's currently
16:41 sitting at just under 20 litres per 100km.
16:43 But on the way here, predominantly with highway driving, it was sitting closer to 10 litres
16:47 per 100km.
16:48 So depending on the type of driving, it isn't going to be too bad.
16:50 This also has cylinder deactivation, which means that it can shut down cylinders to conserve
16:55 fuel while it's driving as well.
16:57 So now, what does all of that feel like behind the wheel?
16:59 I told you how quiet it was, so I'm going to just roll into the throll here.
17:03 Oh, that is such a nice sound, such a beautiful sound, I love that V8.
17:08 The W12 is a work of art because it's 12 cylinders and unique engine configuration,
17:13 it's pretty cool.
17:14 But this V8 is just so smooth.
17:16 Oh, and it has so much torque, it doesn't need to even dive back through gears, it just
17:21 really pushes on its torque band, it just gives you a lot of latitude there.
17:26 It's quick as a gearbox as well, the engine is a little laggy, I notice there if I do
17:29 sort of get stuck into it when the turbos aren't spooling, it can be a little lazy to
17:34 respond.
17:35 Yeah, but look, it's not that bad, it really sort of, you have enough there before the
17:39 turbos spool anyway, so it really isn't the end of the world.
17:43 So Bentley, what's the ride like in and around the city?
17:46 You've got a number of different drive modes to choose from here.
17:48 It starts off in Bentley mode, which is kind of a bridge between comfort and sport, but
17:53 you can slot it over to comfort or you can go over to custom where you can configure
17:58 exactly what the car is doing all on your own.
18:00 I really like comfort because if you are driving with people in the car on a longer distance
18:05 trip, it is really nice and smooth inside the cabin, you barely feel anything going
18:09 on outside the car and despite the fact you're running on 22-inch alloy wheels, it just glides
18:14 over everything.
18:15 So it is the ultimate GT car when it comes to that type of driving and then if you do
18:21 want to dial it up a bit, you can move your way through these different modes.
18:24 So suspension's good sort of in and around town, but what's it like on our sine waves?
18:29 So this is a test we do to simulate some country road driving here in Australia.
18:33 I'll hit this at 130 in comfort mode and we'll see what that feels like.
18:39 Slot it over to comfort, here we go.
18:43 Oh wow, yeah look, it's pretty floaty at the top end there.
18:47 So yeah, once it does sort of get a little bit of oscillation, the body control isn't
18:51 great there.
18:52 And look, ultimately that's a trade-off with comfort mode.
18:55 For this to feel as comfortable as it does, you need to soften it right out, but the good
18:58 news is as you progress through these modes, and I'll show you when we get to sport mode,
19:02 it becomes a completely different beast altogether.
19:05 Righto, let's pop this into sport mode.
19:08 Wow, straight away that becomes so much firmer and depending on the speed that you're doing
19:13 it will hunker down as well.
19:15 Becomes a little more sonorous.
19:16 Jump on the brakes, dial in some steering.
19:22 Far out.
19:23 This thing is holding on for dear life.
19:25 Okay, you're not going to believe me when I say this, but this actually feels like a
19:33 go-kart, like an enormous go-kart, but a go-kart nevertheless.
19:38 It is absolutely hoofing along here.
19:41 Jump on those brakes.
19:43 Don't love the brake pedal feel, it's sort of quite a firm pedal and doesn't give you
19:48 a great deal of responsiveness.
19:49 Let's see what it's like on our back section here.
19:53 Far out, it has got some absolute mumbo.
19:58 This is a heavy car, it's like over 2,400 kilos and it's sitting virtually dead flat
20:03 as we punt it through these corners.
20:05 It is so good.
20:06 Okay, we're going to come onto our back straight here.
20:09 I'll wind on the throttle here.
20:10 We'll see what it feels like when we get stuck into it.
20:13 Here we go.
20:14 Oh man, it has got some legs.
20:18 It is pushing on nicely far out.
20:21 That is so cool.
20:23 It absolutely hammers.
20:25 Yeah, there is nothing stopping it.
20:28 It is bloody unreal.
20:29 And the other thing I noticed as well, here on our sideways, while it is a bit sketchy
20:33 in comfort mode, if we hit these in sport mode, because it firms up the ride so much,
20:38 sits virtually dead flat.
20:39 There are no issues at all.
20:40 It is like a complete difference there and that's what I love.
20:44 There's no point having drive modes if they're not going to be polar opposites and this is
20:47 exactly that.
20:48 Sport mode is sport, comfort is comfort.
20:50 It is as simple as it needs to be.
20:52 This thing is an absolute missile.
20:54 It's worth pointing out as well that the air suspension has a three-chamber damper on it.
21:00 It is pretty impressive and then it is height adjustable as well, so it can go all the way
21:05 from an access setting to a kind of off-road setting.
21:08 It can even vary the anti-roll system, supplying up to 1300 newton-metres of torque within
21:13 0.3 seconds and that is what keeps this thing dead flat through corners.
21:20 But let's talk 0-100.
21:21 So it has an official claim of 4.5 seconds.
21:25 We'll see how it goes up against our V-Box.
21:28 That's all set up.
21:29 I've got this in sport mode.
21:30 I will put stability control off as well and I reckon we are good to go.
21:36 I'm keen to see what this sounds like at full noise as well, so here we go.
21:39 That is a violent gear shift.
21:56 Bloody hell.
21:57 That's not bad.
21:58 4.4 seconds 0-100.
22:01 Not bad at all.
22:02 And then 80-120 in 2.6 seconds, so that is your overtaking speed.
22:07 So pretty impressive there on both fronts.
22:09 This thing really has some legs, both from a standstill and then once it's moving as
22:13 well.
22:14 Now our infamous reverse test.
22:16 How quickly can we go from 0 to whatever the max is in reverse.
22:20 We'll see what the top speed is.
22:22 Here we go.
22:23 God, it has some punch.
22:26 46, 47, so it looks like 48 k's an hour is our top speed in reverse.
22:37 But by golly, it absolutely hauls once you stand on the throttle in reverse.
22:41 I love it.
22:42 Now let's talk about visibility.
22:46 So visibility down the front is great.
22:48 I can see clearly down there.
22:49 You've got big wing mirrors with the blind spot monitors built into them.
22:52 Visibility out the back is good as well.
22:54 Cameras are great and you've got a semi-autonomous parking feature as well.
22:57 So you're pretty much sorted there in terms of moving this in and around the city.
23:00 Doesn't feel too big or daunting.
23:03 So time for our next test.
23:05 This is all about testing lane support systems.
23:08 This car actually has a lane departure warning, a lane keeping assistant and also like a lane
23:12 centering assistant as well.
23:13 So I'm going to set the cruise at 80 k's an hour and then what we're going to do is use
23:17 the three outer lanes of the bowl here to test how well that works.
23:20 I'm going to flick it on just by pushing that.
23:22 You can see it's active down there.
23:25 So what I'll do is just hold my hands just off the steering wheel.
23:28 I'll prompt it to go towards the edge.
23:30 We'll see what it feels like.
23:31 So it's steering itself back in, vibrating the wheel a little bit as well.
23:35 Seems to be doing an okay job there.
23:39 Let's jump over to the next lane.
23:41 This next lane is on slightly more of an angle.
23:43 This is where cars start getting a little confused.
23:45 Let's wait for that symbol to come up.
23:47 So the steering is active.
23:51 Ventured across that line there and now it's just straddling that line entirely.
23:56 It's not actually keeping this in the centre of the lane all that well.
24:01 Don't love that because if this was a real road I wouldn't want to be sitting next to
24:05 the bloke that's currently riding the line.
24:07 So yeah, not great.
24:08 Let's try jumping up to the third lane here.
24:11 Keep in mind as well this is part of the $16,000 optional package.
24:14 Okay, we've got our bank active.
24:17 Okay, hold on.
24:18 I'm just waiting for that steering wheel symbol to come up.
24:21 It's coming in and out of that steering wheel symbol so it can't actually even recognise
24:25 that there are lanes.
24:26 Okay, so it's found one of them.
24:28 I'm going to let go of the steering wheel.
24:29 We'll see what happens.
24:30 Nah, that's just failed.
24:32 So yeah, not that impressive.
24:34 So it only works in lane one and two.
24:37 Lane sort of three it just wasn't interested at all.
24:40 So I think I'm a little bit disappointed with that because given the price of this
24:44 car you would have thought they'd put a little bit more effort into these lane support systems.
24:47 Given that Volkswagen Group, they have all this technology available to them.
24:52 Yeah, not great.
24:55 Righto, so the Bentley Bentayga S. I'm going to go out on a limb here.
25:01 I reckon the Lamborghini Urus is just a bit much and out there.
25:04 Rolls-Royce colour then, a bit too flashy and showy.
25:07 This sits in that perfect middle ground where, you know, it's a Bentley.
25:10 It looks stunning.
25:11 It has stacks of luxury.
25:13 It's really nicely appointed inside.
25:15 I mean, just look at it.
25:16 In that red and the black it just looks sensational.
25:18 So styling is subjective but I love the look of it.
25:22 In terms of the negatives, I really wasn't blind away with the brakes.
25:24 I thought pedal feel wasn't very good and we drove this the same way that we drive every
25:28 other car here and the brakes just didn't have that confidence-inspiring feel after
25:32 a bit of harder driving.
25:33 So I think Bentley definitely needs to work on that.
25:36 Outside of that though, the engine is sensational.
25:37 It has plenty of punch and it kind of leads me to believe they probably have a bit more
25:41 headway to release a faster version of this down the track.
25:43 So I'm keen to see what they come up with.
25:45 It has the perfect amount of noise on the outside.
25:47 It's quite subdued but then rowdy when it needs to be.
25:50 So it really is just a fun car to drive.
25:52 Now, let me know in the comments section below.
25:53 Do you own a Bentayga?
25:55 What's it like to live with longer term?
25:56 Do you like the design of it?
25:57 Do I need to go to Specsavers?
25:58 Let me know what you reckon down there.
