00:00 Welcome along to what for most of us is a wet start to the weekend.
00:04 But generally, the rain is shifting away.
00:06 And for many, it'll brighten up a little bit as we go through Saturday.
00:10 The reason for the rain, not hard to spot, is a huge area of low pressure out in the Atlantic.
00:16 This will dominate our weather through the rest of the weekend as it edges closer.
00:20 Its weather fronts are moving across right now and heading out into the North Sea.
00:25 But it will still spiral bands of showers across the country as we head through tomorrow.
00:31 And the ice is squeezing together as well.
00:33 So that tells us, particularly in the South, it's going to be quite windy on Sunday, too.
00:37 Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves, however.
00:40 Bring it back to the rest of today.
00:41 These weather fronts currently making for a soggy start to Saturday.
00:44 Some heavy bursts of rain, especially in the southwest.
00:47 A lot of spray and surface water on the roads here, parts of the M4 and the M5.
00:52 Heavier rain is migrating, moving its way from west to east and clearing away.
00:56 So Wales, southwest England, the Midlands should brighten up before lunchtime.
01:00 Northern and eastern England also cheering up, although it may take most of the day before the rain completely clears from Norfolk and Kent.
01:08 Scotland and Northern Ireland should also turn a little drier for a time.
01:11 But more showers coming in here through the afternoon, particularly into western Scotland.
01:15 Parts of the east may also brighten up.
01:17 Quite windy across the Northern Isles and generally a pretty breezy day for most.
01:22 That breeze will help to punch a few holes in the cloud and bring us a little bit of weak sunshine.
01:27 But it's quite mild.
01:28 Our temperatures with a bit of sunshine could easily reach 14, 15, maybe even 16 degrees Celsius.
01:34 So quite mild, although northern Scotland will stay in single figures here, particularly where it stays fairly dank.
01:40 There'll be more showers packing in across Scotland during this evening and for Northern Ireland.
01:44 In fact, for most places, after some clearer weather for a time over England and Wales, the showers return through the early hours, blown along by a brisk wind.
01:53 Notice there's the area of low pressure.
01:55 You can see it here and the winds in the south, as I mentioned, picking up through Saturday night and into Sunday.
02:02 All makes for a pretty mild start to Sunday, double digits across much of the south.
02:07 But it will be a blustery day again here, particularly on the south coast.
02:11 And those winds will be bringing lots of clouds and further showers.
02:15 It's not going to rain all day.
02:16 The rain will tend to come and go throughout something a bit drier in eastern Scotland, maybe even a bit more sunshine poking out here.
02:23 For Scotland, the winds will probably be lighter on Sunday than Saturday, but further south, the winds will be a little stronger tomorrow.
02:29 Temperatures again a touch above average, getting into the teens across the south after that mild start.
02:34 But it's not feeling all that mild.
02:36 You're exposed to that gusty wind.
02:39 As we go through Sunday evening, we'll continue to see plenty of showers.
02:42 But into next week, there are signs of high pressure heading in, which should bring something a bit drier for most of us.
