Transcript
00:00 >> Obviously every game is a big game, but
00:01 does this one put a little bit more weight just going up against Kenny and
00:04 the whole stuff?
00:05 >> Not really, ultimately, he's done a great job just in my development,
00:11 working with him for two years, but at the same time, it's just another game.
00:14 And now he is the opponent and he's thinking the same thing about us.
00:18 So I think it is cool to play against him,
00:21 it is cool to play against another coach that you've worked with for so long.
00:25 And then, but I just think it's another opportunity for us to go out there and
00:29 put together a complete game.
00:31 >> Have you kept in contact with him since he left you last year?
00:33 >> Yeah, we've always been in contact since my freshman year.
00:36 >> What are those conversations like anymore?
00:39 >> It's just kinda depends on the situation, to be honest with you.
00:43 In season, out of season, he has a great personality, so
00:46 I mean, they're always enjoyable conversations.
00:51 >> What do you admire most about his approach to coaching a quarterback position?
00:55 >> I think his willingness to meet you where you are and coach you from there.
00:59 I think his story where how he had to kinda work for everything he's gotten,
01:04 I think has really helped put him in a position to see the perspective of every
01:09 quarterback and see where they are.
01:11 I think that's one thing he really does well.
01:12 >> How important was his faith and trust in you, but
01:16 also to give you that level of control that you had a year ago that you've
01:19 maintained this year?
01:20 >> That was huge.
01:21 I think it just allowed me to play free and just, like you said,
01:24 that's how we've kinda operated this year.
01:26 And I think it's helped us a lot this year.
01:27 And I think just getting into the right plays and
01:31 our system right now is as good as I've ever been a part of.
01:33 And Coach Stein does a really good job of just putting us in situations with great
01:38 answers.
01:39 >> You said that your guys' offense is better than it was even last year.
01:43 Where do you feel like this group has improved from year one to year two on hand?
01:47 >> Well, I think just when you look at our guys, we got a lot of returning guys that
01:51 I think have contributed a lot this year, Troy, myself, Ferg, Bucky.
01:55 And then we've added pieces, Gary, Tez, Trey.
01:59 And then Jordan James has continued his role from last year.
02:01 And then the offensive line has gelled really, really well.
02:04 And they really picked up from where we were last year.
02:10 And I mean, they played really well.
02:12 They just get better and better.
02:14 And there's so much talent in that room.
02:15 And exciting to see those guys contribute how they are.
02:19 And I think they're probably the reason why we're doing everything is just
02:23 Cuz they can handle so many things and they're just really good.
