Transcript
00:00 Not this year.
00:02 Have you been to festivals in the past?
00:04 Yes.
00:05 And which ones stand out as being the best?
00:07 There's one called Soundwave in Croatia, which doesn't run anymore, but that was the best one.
00:13 And why was it so good?
00:15 It's a beach in Croatia, boiling hot, good music.
00:20 Just really good vibes.
00:22 And if there was an ideal line-up, what would that be?
00:26 Probably After Hot, Mr Scruff and Mold, Ronnie Size, something like that.
00:34 Bit of a mixture of all sorts really.
00:36 Brilliant.
00:37 Hiya, my name's Andy and I'm from Discovery Records, selling records and CDs at Peston Market today.
00:44 And who's your favourite singer to go and see live?
00:47 Well, my favourite music is punk music really, so The Clash, The Damned, The Buzzcocks, Stifflefingers,
00:53 but obviously a lot of those bands are not really playing anymore.
00:56 But it's mainly rock and punk music, which I prefer.
00:59 And do you have any favourite memories from seeing live music?
01:02 Oh yeah, of course, loads.
01:04 What's your best one?
01:05 That's a very good question.
01:07 I used to go in a van with my friends, and there was about five or six of us in a van going to Manchester.
01:16 We used to go to gigs every weekend, and all your pocket money, all the money you used to get,
01:21 and doing odd jobs around the house, we spent on going and watching live music.
01:26 And if you could see anyone live tomorrow, who would you go and watch?
01:30 Dead or Alive.
01:32 Dead or Alive.
01:33 Yeah.
01:34 It's probably The Clash and The Haydays, but I never saw The Clash when they first went out in the '70s,
01:40 and I'd have loved to see them, but I miss them big time.
01:43 So what's your name?
01:44 My name's Mark.
01:45 And what have you just bought today? What singer have you bought?
01:48 I've just bought the first Leonard Skinner album, which I've got on vinyl, but I fancy it on CD,
01:55 because it was only a pound, and I've bought an unofficial Live Iron Maiden album.
02:00 And what's your favourite live music to go and see?
02:03 To go and see? I like punk rock and heavy metal.
02:07 And do you have any favourite memories of going to those sorts of gigs?
02:10 Yeah, definitely. When I was younger, because the first going to them when I was a teenager,
02:17 it was a whole new thing. Quite exciting, dangerous as well back then.
02:23 But yeah, I still enjoy going to concerts, still go out.
02:26 And if you could go and see someone live tomorrow, who would you go and watch?
02:29 Probably Maiden, because I've seen them a lot of times, and Zoe in Good Life, so I know who that is.
