00:00 You will soon be on stage here at Luca Comics & Games to present On Air, play like a DJ.
00:05 The word of order seems to be improvisation, which is obviously a quality that also serves the radio.
00:12 Was it a natural step to create this game for the radio?
00:18 Natural, I don't know, it was instinctive, in the sense that I am a great fan of board games.
00:23 I come from the world of theatrical improvisation because I grew up and was born there.
00:28 I started playing the radio and the intuition was to listen to Linus, who was trying to link a news to a record and say "this is a board game".
00:34 I started writing it, I tried it with friends and years later, thanks to the Smothè, it became a box that is On Air, play like a DJ.
00:44 A game of bluff and improvisation.
00:46 You often say you are a board game publisher. How important is the game today and talking about the game?
00:51 For me it is fundamental, it has a very important social and civil value because it teaches you a lot of things.
00:57 The role-playing game teaches you to put yourself in the shoes of others, because it is not a competitive game.
01:02 We all play together, so it teaches you to listen, to put yourself in the shoes of others, to feel emotions that you might not feel in the shoes of another character.
01:09 It is very similar to the value of theater and the value of improvisation.
01:12 The board game, the competitive ones, but also the cooperative ones, teach you a very important thing, that is to lose.
01:18 It is something that is not taught in school and it is a problem.
01:22 Instead of playing, it teaches you to lose, but still to want to play.
01:26 In my opinion it is a huge value.
01:28 Castangeons and DJs, did you come up with the idea of Wizards of the Coast, Post Malone?
01:35 Castangeons and DJs are born from the idea of wanting to unite two worlds that are very different from each other,
01:42 that is the world of the radio DJ and the world of the board game.
01:45 I had already seen things like that, I had seen Critical Role, I had seen the extraordinary work that the guys at InTale do.
01:52 But it seemed to me that they were more oriented to talk to those who already played board games, to those who were already passionate.
01:59 I wanted to try to enlarge the bubble enormously, with great force,
02:04 so I took characters who had never played board games and indeed had a little resistance to the board game
02:10 and tried to convince them that it was cool to play board games.
02:13 And I did it. And this made so that many people who maybe knew Rob Botanica, Vittorio Cabello or Francesco Costa in the second season, or Brenda Lutegiani,
02:21 then found themselves passionate about board games.
02:24 And in my opinion it was the fundamental value of this podcast, which is designed for dissemination and entertainment.
02:30 and entertainment.
