Look for Miami to run again this season
Transcript
00:00 Miami's uptempo offense gave teams problems last season.
00:04 Do you expect Miami to use a similar recipe?
00:07 And if yes, how successful do you think it'll be?
00:10 >> Yeah, I think you have a good recipe for a reason.
00:14 You were able to run the floor with guys.
00:16 And that's why no time here makes so much sense for this team.
00:20 Why everyone wants to get a traditional big man, but
00:22 you don't want a guy that can slow the tempo down.
00:25 While he is not the seven footers that probably can at times get taken
00:30 advantage of by guys like an Armando Baycott or Kyle Filipowski.
00:34 He's able to run the floor at such a better rate.
00:36 And I think Miami has the perfect team in place to do so.
00:40 Insert Matthew Cleveland, who's the guy who can really run the fast break.
00:44 You saw it at Florida State.
00:45 He's able to get in those passing lanes and go deep and
00:49 either convert on the other end.
00:51 So they're definitely gonna be able to do this.
00:52 And offensively, you know, Wuga Poplar, an extremely athletic guy who's
00:57 gonna be able to push that pace for Miami running back and forth.
01:01 I'm gonna be very interested to see how he develops on defense this coming season
01:05 because he can be a really big wing defender for this team.
01:08 Especially playing alongside Nigel Pack,
01:10 who's not really the greatest on ball defender.
01:12 And insert guys that might be able to see some work in AJ Casey,
01:16 Bensley Joseph, all guys that can push the pace.
01:21 Jeremy Larenaga has a recipe for success.
01:24 And it's that up-tempo offense that's gonna continue to give, you know,
01:27 those more traditional basketball teams a run for their money.
