00:37 - I want you to go with me for a few minutes.
00:41 I was going one way,
00:43 and then, you know, I remember the old time preacher
00:48 would say the Lord changed his thought
00:50 as if the Lord didn't know what he wanted
00:53 before the foundation of the world.
00:56 It's the preacher who didn't know what the Lord wanted.
00:59 And so I think I caught up now.
01:02 Go with me to Daniel chapter three,
01:06 and I won't keep you long.
01:07 You know, some messages you can get into
01:12 and find a way out of quickly.
01:15 Others, you get stuck.
01:18 You just gotta go all the way.
01:20 In Daniel chapter three, of course,
01:22 we have a story very well of Nebuchadnezzar,
01:26 and the king, of course, made an image of gold,
01:30 and I'll read very quickly,
01:31 whose height was three-score cubits
01:34 and the breadth three-score thera-cubits,
01:38 and he set it up in the plain of Duhar
01:40 in the province of Babylon.
01:41 This is Daniel chapter three.
01:43 And of course, the king, he sent to gather together
01:47 the princes, the governors, the captains,
01:48 the judges, the treasurers, the counselors, the sheriffs,
01:51 and all the provinces to come to the dedication
01:55 of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
02:00 Then the princes, of course, they repeat all of them.
02:04 They gathered together unto the dedication,
02:06 verse three, that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up,
02:08 and they stood before the image that the king had set up.
02:11 And then, and herald cried aloud,
02:14 to you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages,
02:18 that at the time you hear the sound of the cornet flute,
02:21 harp, and the sultry dulcimer,
02:23 and all kinds of music, you fall down
02:25 and worship the golden image
02:26 that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up,
02:29 and whoso, there's always, you know,
02:32 there's always something,
02:34 and whoso falleth down and worshipeth
02:39 shall the same hour be cast into the midst
02:41 of a burning fire of furnace.
02:42 Therefore, at the time when you hear, of course,
02:45 the sound of the cornet flute, harp, sapwood,
02:48 sultry, and all kinds of music,
02:50 all the people, nations, and languages,
02:51 fell down, worship the golden image
02:53 that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
02:55 Wherefore, at that time, certain Chaldeans came near
02:58 and accused the Jews.
03:02 They spake and said to the king, Nebuchadnezzar,
03:03 O king, live forever.
03:06 Thou, O king, hast made a decree
03:08 that every man that shall hear the sound
03:10 of the cornet flute, harp, sapwood, sultry dulcimer,
03:13 and all kinds of music,
03:14 shall fall down and worship the golden image,
03:16 and whoso falleth not down and worshipeth
03:18 that he would be cast into the midst
03:20 of a burning fire of furnace.
03:22 There are certain Jews
03:24 whom thou hast set up,
03:28 now, and I imagine they emphasize
03:30 who thou hast set up over the affairs
03:33 of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego,
03:36 these men, O king, have not regarded thee,
03:38 they serve not thy gods nor worship
03:41 the golden image which thou hast set up.
03:43 Then Nebuchadnezzar, in his rage,
03:45 notice now, rage and fury,
03:48 commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego,
03:51 then they brought these men before the king.
03:53 Nebuchadnezzar spake unto them, said unto them,
03:55 Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego,
03:57 do you not ye serve my gods?
04:00 Now notice now, he separates his gods,
04:03 an image, nor worship the golden image
04:07 which I have set up.
04:08 Now, if ye be ready, that at what time
04:11 ye hear the sound of the cornet flute,
04:13 harp, saxophone, solstrum, and all kinds of music,
04:15 you fall down and worship the image
04:17 which I have made well.
04:19 But if you worship not, ye shall be cast
04:23 this same hour in the midst of a burning fire of furnace.
04:26 And who is that God
04:28 that shall deliver you out of my hands?
04:32 Meshach and Abednego answered and said unto the king,
04:36 O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful.
04:40 We're not careful at all
04:45 to answer you concerning this matter.
04:47 Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us
04:52 from the burning fire of furnace,
04:54 and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
04:57 But if not,
04:58 be it known unto thee, O king,
05:03 that we will not serve thy gods,
05:06 nor worship the golden image
05:10 which thou hast set up.
05:12 Now notice 19, then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fear,
05:17 and the form of his visage was changed
05:21 against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
05:24 He commanded the furnace to be heated
05:27 seven times hotter than it was.
05:29 He got all his mighty men and told them
05:31 to throw them in the fire.
05:33 And of course, the mighty men died outside the fire,
05:37 and the boys were alive in the fire.
05:40 And he looked in the fire,
05:42 and he was astonished in verse 24,
05:45 and rose up in haste, and said,
05:47 "Counselors, did not we cast three men
05:50 bound into the midst of the fire?"
05:51 They answered and said unto the king,
05:53 "True, O king."
05:54 He answered and said, "Lo, I see four men, loose,
05:58 walking in the midst of the fire,
06:00 and they have no clothes on,
06:02 and the form of the four,
06:05 and the real interpretation should be
06:09 is like one of the gods, like the son of God.
06:13 Look at somebody with all the ebullience you can get
06:17 and tell them I'm not built to break."
06:21 [audience laughing]
06:24 When you consider, and I think I should consider
06:36 Nebuchadnezzar first,
06:39 because Nebuchadnezzar, believe it or not,
06:43 was a realistic, egomaniacal tyrant.
06:48 He was extremely, have you ever seen anyone
06:56 who is really sold on themselves?
06:59 [audience laughing]
07:03 And it's interesting that he conquered Nineveh,
07:08 a city that was claimed never to be conquered
07:10 at the age of 17.
07:14 He conquered Nineveh at the age of 17,
07:17 and he conquered them with 50,000 men
07:21 who the historians call Scythians.
07:24 The Scythians were regarded as the fiercest group
07:30 to have ever lived at the time,
07:33 and they were so mean and so cruel
07:39 that when they'd conquer people,
07:42 they would tie the foreign soldiers to their chariots
07:47 and they'd pull them apart,
07:49 running the chariots in four different directions.
07:52 And Nebuchadnezzar controlled them
07:55 not with any sort of council,
07:58 not any kind of government.
08:01 Nebuchadnezzar controlled them
08:02 by the fierceness of his own personality and character.
08:08 He controlled these men.
08:11 By the age of 25, he was a world ruler.
08:16 He conquered and he controlled the world
08:20 by the age of 25.
08:23 Can you imagine having a narcissistic,
08:28 egomaniacal, tyrannical person
08:32 who controls the world at the age of 25?
08:38 25.
08:39 Now, I don't mind being around people with power
08:42 if they're able to handle it.
08:45 And my mother's here.
08:46 Just wave your hand, Mom.
08:47 It's good to see you.
08:48 And it's all right to be around people
08:52 who have great power as long as they have balance.
08:57 It's like giving your child power over you
09:02 and over everything around you
09:04 when they aren't mature enough to be able to handle it.
09:07 Nebuchadnezzar was the kind of fellow
09:11 that you just didn't play with
09:12 because you didn't know where he was at any given time.
09:18 He may choose to put an image up of himself
09:20 and the image, according to history,
09:23 was not of one of his gods,
09:25 but the image was an image of himself.
09:30 And three Hebrew boys, obviously,
09:33 they confronted him in a very powerful manner,
09:37 and they stood up against him
09:39 in a way that showed they believed in God.
09:43 I'm going in here very easy
09:46 because I want you to understand
09:48 that it is difficult to grasp
09:51 that they could have had any faith at all,
09:55 particularly with what they've been through.
09:58 And let me argue it from another point of view.
10:01 Whenever you see any kind of battle in the Old Testament,
10:06 you will understand that the battle
10:08 is actually a battle of gods.
10:12 It's a battle of gods
10:13 because each nation went before their god,
10:17 before they went into battle,
10:20 and it was assumed then that the god
10:24 who was most proficient,
10:26 the god who was most powerful,
10:28 would give them the victory in battle.
10:31 The interesting thing here is that God, Jehovah,
10:35 has never had an image of himself put up.
10:40 He would not allow an image of himself
10:45 because any image of himself
10:48 would have to be garnished by our sensual perception.
10:54 God has always allowed himself
10:57 to be outside of our sensual perception,
11:02 which means that none of us have seen him,
11:05 we have not smelled him,
11:07 and when the Bible says,
11:08 "Oh, taste and see that the Lord is with you,"
11:11 he's not speaking about tasting him literally,
11:15 but rather it's metaphorically
11:17 to indulge yourself in the things of God
11:19 and wonder how great he can be.
11:23 I have never heard him,
11:25 where people said the Lord spoke to me,
11:27 but he has never called my name audibly.
11:31 I have never heard him say, "Noel, Noel,
11:35 "I need to talk to you."
11:36 I haven't quite had that privilege,
11:39 and I have not touched him with my hands
11:43 because he leaves himself outside of our sensual perception,
11:48 whereas the other nations,
11:52 they were able to form gods,
11:53 and they had their gods in visibility,
11:58 and of course, my god cannot be brought
12:04 within the parameters of sensual perception
12:07 because how do you form the shape of an omnipresent god?
12:12 I mean, what shape would you have of him?
12:16 It was always a battle of gods
12:19 because each nation would go to their god,
12:22 and Israel's difficulty was that he would not allow himself
12:27 within the parameters of sensual perception.
12:32 Ooh, I think I like that because what he does is
12:37 when he takes himself outside of our sensual perception,
12:40 then he has to speak to us on a spiritual level.
12:45 That means that the relationship with God
12:48 cannot be cognitive, it can't be intellectual, really.
12:52 It's got to be spiritual,
12:55 and it's where his spirit speaks to my spirit
12:59 over the bridge of faith,
13:01 and then he lets my spirit talk to my mind.
13:05 Can I go over that again?
13:06 So I'm going to talk to this group over here.
13:11 You see, because of sensual perception,
13:15 sensual perception limits you
13:18 to whatever your senses can garnish,
13:22 but when he takes you outside of your sensual perception,
13:26 what he's saying essentially is
13:28 that the relationship that I want to have with you
13:31 is not cognitive or intellectual,
13:35 but the relationship that I want to have
13:38 is very spiritual.
13:40 In order to grasp this even further,
13:42 we think a little bit about the Holy Spirit
13:45 that maketh intercession with groanings
13:49 that cannot be uttered.
13:51 That cannot be uttered is not a mm,
13:55 is not a mm.
13:56 If it can't be uttered, there is no sound at all,
14:02 which means that God is making deposits in your spirit
14:08 that you are not cognitively aware of.
14:12 Mm-hmm.
14:14 He spoke to Elijah, if I may go further,
14:18 and he spoke to Elijah in a still, small voice.
14:23 And please tell me, if you will,
14:26 what is a still, small voice?
14:30 It is a voice that you're not picking up audibly,
14:33 but rather it's going to your spirit.
14:37 See, God has left himself outside of our sensual perception
14:40 so that he might deal with us deeply in our spirits.
14:45 And then he lets our spirits talk to our minds
14:50 about things that is not intellectually deduced,
14:55 it is not cognitively achieved,
14:57 because it's something that is just in your spirit.
15:02 (sighs)
15:03 I feel something happening already.
15:05 (audio cuts out)
15:06 This thing, because somebody's holding out on me.
15:09 And the fact is, how can you have peace,
15:13 which passeth all understanding,
15:16 if your relationship with God is simply intellectual?
15:21 Because if the peace he gives you
15:23 has to be a spiritual peace,
15:26 that your mind cannot even conceive
15:30 of why you are so peaceful.
15:34 According to every,
15:35 if you have cognitively deducted,
15:37 you should be one mess right now.
15:40 But because he has made a deposit in your spirit,
15:44 and he has spoken to your spirit,
15:47 you have an assurance that he cannot even explain.
15:52 Oh, somebody's still holding out on me.
15:56 I think I'll take it further.
15:58 There were two boys in their mother's womb.
16:01 There were two boys in two separate wombs.
16:04 One's name was John, and the other was Jesus.
16:09 The two boys were unconscious in their mother's womb.
16:12 I know Jesus is God,
16:14 but he was not reading the Jerusalem Tribune
16:17 in his mother's womb.
16:19 If he's human at all,
16:22 he is unconscious in his mother's womb.
16:27 The two mothers came together.
16:28 I think it's Mary who went out into the country
16:31 to visit Elizabeth.
16:33 And the two boys were in their mother's womb,
16:36 separated by two thin layers of cutaneous tissue.
16:40 And yet still, when the mothers came together,
16:44 the Bible said that John leapt in his mother's womb
16:48 because he was in the presence of Jesus.
16:52 To show you how spiritual it is,
16:55 the man, John the boy, is unconscious in his mother's womb.
17:00 Yet even in his unconscious state,
17:04 receives revelation of who Jesus is.
17:09 And indeed, and in fact, he receives the Holy Spirit
17:13 without saying hallelujah, hallelujah,
17:15 hallelujah, hallelujah.
17:17 Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.
17:21 Now, years later,
17:24 the conscious John sends word to Jesus.
17:29 Oh God, I wonder, do you get it?
17:31 The unconscious John had no doubt about who Jesus was.
17:36 Yet the conscious John sends messages
17:41 and asks, "Are you the one, or should we look for another?"
17:46 And I just wrote, "Don't ever let your mind
17:50 talk you out of your revelation."
17:52 (audience applauding)
17:57 It was a battle of gods, you see.
18:00 It was a battle of.
18:02 And notice, if you will, that the three Hebrew boys,
18:08 Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah,
18:11 the three Hebrew boys had been on a steady decline.
18:16 Not that they had just walked into Babylon
18:21 and they were standing as real, I say,
18:25 advocates or ambassadors from Israel.
18:29 If you notice the decline, first of all,
18:33 that they were defeated by Nebuchadnezzar.
18:37 Because Israel couldn't actually be defeated by anybody
18:42 if they walked according to the principles of God.
18:47 I am not afraid of my enemies when I'm walking in principle.
18:53 Uh-huh, you got haters everywhere,
18:56 but I'm not afraid of my haters when I'm walking in principle.
19:01 It's when I'm walking outside of the principles of God
19:06 that I have to worry about the rumors
19:10 and about who is going to bring me down.
19:13 Because as long as I'm walking
19:15 in the principles of God,
19:18 then I don't have to worry about what anybody has to say.
19:23 Because it's the principle that protects.
19:28 I don't want to be too helter-skelter here,
19:31 said to his disciples.
19:32 He says, "Obey my commandments and abide in my love.
19:37 Because as long as you're walking
19:40 within the confines of my commandments,
19:44 then you can prosper."
19:49 The enemy can only get you when you're walking outside
19:53 of the principles of God.
19:57 Many of us say, "Well, we have angels to protect us."
20:00 An angel, an angel is a messenger.
20:03 It is not the angel that protects you
20:05 as much as the message that the angel brings.
20:10 Because if you walk within the parameters of the angel,
20:15 it doesn't matter how many haters are around you.
20:19 And I'll just give you this one.
20:21 If you don't have any haters, you're not that gifted.
20:24 (audience cheering)
20:27 And it's significant, it's very important.
20:31 Because Israel would not walk
20:33 according to the principles of God.
20:36 The Lord raised up nations to chasten them,
20:41 to bring them back within the confines of his word.
20:45 He would raise up nations.
20:48 And because everybody thought it was a battle of gods,
20:53 then they thought that Jehovah had lost his power.
20:57 If you look, you'll see often where he tells them,
21:01 "I am God and beside me, there is no other."
21:06 If you think that you're being defeated
21:09 because some other God is greater than me,
21:12 you're making a mistake.
21:13 I'm the one who's whipping you through them.
21:17 I raise them up and I take them down.
21:21 Because if you walk according to my principles,
21:24 you'll never have to worry about any.
21:27 I want you to see the extent of the spirituality
21:31 and the connection of the spirit
21:33 that these fellas had with God.
21:36 Now, first of all, they have lost the battle.
21:39 And secondly, they are taken out of their homeland.
21:44 They are the most pristine and the most significant
21:50 of all of the fellows in Israel
21:53 because Nebuchadnezzar made sure that he collected
21:58 the most pristine, the most physical,
22:00 pulchritudinous, magnanimous splendor.
22:05 He made sure that they had no blemish,
22:07 that they were intellectually alert
22:09 and astute enough to understand astrology
22:13 and to learn everything that was significant to his nation.
22:18 He took the best of the best, the creme of the creme.
22:22 I mean, he took the fellows who were just everything.
22:26 Only had they lost the battle, they lost their place.
22:31 Not only did they lose their place,
22:34 they also lost all of the treasures
22:37 that belonged to the temple.
22:40 Not only did they lose their place,
22:42 lose the treasures, lose the battle,
22:45 he took them over and he made eunuchs out of them.
22:50 Uh-huh, yes, he did indeed.
22:52 Now, can you imagine now,
22:54 I'm serving on a downhill slide.
22:59 I'm on a downhill slide where we have lost the battle,
23:03 we have lost all of our precious
23:06 and all of our sacred stuff.
23:10 We have lost our place and now we have lost our manhood.
23:15 With all of the beauty and the wonder of who we are,
23:19 we will never produce an offspring
23:22 because Nebuchadnezzar has made eunuchs out of all of us.
23:27 Now, can you imagine where faith could possibly come from?
23:34 When they have been losing from the day
23:38 that they lost their battle to this day
23:42 and yet they have the unmitigated gall and audacity
23:47 to say to the king, "We are not going to bow."
23:53 Oh, I feel it here.
23:55 Few minutes to go, I promise I will not keep you long.
23:59 When you understand that the sensual perception
24:03 is always against faith
24:06 because what you have is sight, not faith.
24:11 And every child of God has to deal with the reality
24:15 of your environment, the things that you see
24:19 and the reality of the things that you don't see.
24:23 The Greeks, when they talked about fear,
24:25 they talked about fear from the word phobos
24:28 and it means flight.
24:30 And anytime you see phobia of any kind,
24:33 that's the etymological root word is phobos.
24:38 And it's that which causes one to be scared.
24:43 It's something that introduces terror.
24:46 And the terror generally comes from your sensual perception,
24:51 from what you see, from what you hear.
24:56 And then of course, they added another word to it.
25:00 And this word is delia.
25:02 This is not something that comes necessarily
25:05 from the outside.
25:06 This is just an attitude an individual has.
25:11 You can raise two children and one's very bold
25:15 and the other is just timid, just timid by nature,
25:19 not timid by circumstances, just nature.
25:23 People are just timid, just scared to do everything.
25:27 Some people are just shy.
25:29 It's the word that Paul deals with
25:31 when he talks about Timothy.
25:33 And Timothy, he wants him to be bold
25:36 and he doesn't want him,
25:37 wants him to be able to partake
25:41 of the affliction of the gospel.
25:44 And so it's not just an act now.
25:47 The delia speaks more of a spirit.
25:50 It's a kind of way of prayer.
25:53 Now, can you imagine being timid by nature
25:56 and then being scared by circumstance?
26:00 I'm already timid, please for God's sake,
26:03 don't bring anything around me that's going to be scary
26:07 because my genetics already lead me to be timid.
26:12 Now, there should be a certain amount of caution
26:16 in everybody's life because caution helps you
26:20 to assess certain things and teaches you
26:23 how to position yourself.
26:26 But when it comes to being in a situation
26:28 that you have absolutely no control over,
26:33 then you have to be able to trust.
26:36 And I'm here to tell you,
26:38 for those of us who trust the least,
26:41 we want to control the most
26:44 because if I can control it,
26:47 then I don't have to trust it.
26:49 Uh-huh, you know, gave you a beeper.
26:53 That's why he gave you all of those machines
26:56 so that, and he's already timed how long it takes
26:59 to go to the grocery store and get back.
27:01 It ought to be 15 minutes over, 15 minutes back,
27:05 three minutes for the groceries
27:08 and to get it in and out of the car.
27:11 And after that, I'm calling
27:13 because the more you can control,
27:16 the less you have to trust.
27:19 Trust when you're in a situation
27:23 where you don't have any control.
27:27 It's either you're going to trust or lose your mind.
27:32 I feel something happening.
27:33 I'm coming, I'm almost.
27:35 It's critical because now the word for caution
27:40 to the Greeks then became reverence and godly fear.
27:46 And the whole idea is if I'm going to fear any,
27:50 I need to fear God who can put both body and soul
27:55 into hellfire.
27:57 I don't need to fear anybody less than God
28:02 because God is the only,
28:05 his total charge over everything.
28:08 So even though I'm on a downhill slide,
28:13 I'm not connected to God through my sensual perception.
28:17 I'm connected to God through my spirit,
28:21 which means you can mess with everything
28:23 I can sensually perceive,
28:26 but you can't break my spirit.
28:29 I feel it here.
28:32 Let me go to the text very quick.
28:34 A little about the Hebrew.
28:36 The Hebrew word for fear is pahad
28:39 and it's a very strong verb of fearing with the emphasis
28:44 on the immediacy of the object of fear.
28:48 In other words, you can't find until something shows up
28:52 that sets you off to the point
28:54 where you even begin to tremble.
28:57 It's a strong emotion of fear.
29:00 I don't know, have you ever been there,
29:02 but I've been there in my life
29:04 where I was just about having a panic attack.
29:08 Anybody familiar with panic attack?
29:10 It's the kind of place where you can't find any peace.
29:15 It's the kind of place where you think
29:17 you're going to die at any minute.
29:20 And generally, it has been stimulated
29:24 by something that's external
29:27 that's trying to become internal.
29:31 It's trying to break where, you see,
29:34 Satan just doesn't want you to have experiences
29:37 without leaving a mark.
29:40 What he wants you to do is go through something
29:43 that leaves you psychologically debilitated
29:46 so that the opportunity for you to make a move,
29:50 you're so caught up in the past
29:52 with the things you have failed in
29:55 that you will not take a step
29:57 that is guided by the spirit of God.
30:01 Oh, he wants to break you down.
30:03 Have I told you touch your neighbor yet?
30:05 It's coming, just hold on.
30:08 It's a critical piece because now
30:11 it's the object that causes fear
30:14 that allows the subject to tremble.
30:17 The point is to intimidate and break you down
30:22 to feel as if you cannot stand
30:26 in the midst of what's about to happen.
30:29 The Lord said to the judges in Israel,
30:32 "Fear not the face of men.
30:34 "Don't let any social position
30:37 "or any adversary in any litigation
30:40 "intimidate you and sway you from your judgment.
30:45 "If you know right, then stand to it."
30:50 The next Hebrew word was one
30:52 that is to pursue or cast down.
30:55 It's a word that talks about driving.
30:58 The enemy wants to drive you.
31:00 And again, we're talking about external stuff.
31:04 We're talking about horrific people,
31:07 horrific situations that are designed
31:10 for the outward display to generate an inward break.
31:15 How long are you going to be there
31:19 with all of your talent and allow some little chip
31:23 that's missing to keep you from being all that you can be?
31:28 When are you going to get what you didn't achieve yesterday
31:34 for what you can achieve tomorrow?
31:38 When are you going to allow yourself
31:40 to be released from satanic control over your life
31:45 because you are already gifted?
31:49 But what Satan wants to do is use your sensual perception
31:54 to cause your environment to control your thinking.
31:59 What God is allowed your faith in his spirit and word
32:04 to talk to your mind, to tell your mind
32:09 that you're not driven from the outside,
32:12 but you're driven from the inside.
32:16 And when you stand up with what's inside,
32:20 what's outside has got to bow down.
32:24 Oh, I feel something helping.
32:27 Just give me just a few more minutes to be through.
32:31 You see now faith on the other hand
32:33 is the substance of things hoped for.
32:36 It is actually the hupostasis of things hoped for.
32:41 It is the alakos of things not seen.
32:44 So what we have now is we have substance
32:48 and we have assurance or conviction.
32:53 It's something when you can have a conviction
32:57 that has nothing to do with your sensual perception.
33:01 I'm looking at a horrific situation,
33:04 but I am convicted that this situation
33:08 does not determine where I go.
33:12 It is not my circumstance that controls me,
33:16 but rather it is my faith in the mighty God.
33:21 Oh, can I take it another way?
33:23 A molten and mulligan when they look at the word hupostasis
33:28 they regard it as a title deed.
33:32 And what it says essentially is that this is a title
33:36 for what I have hoped for in God.
33:40 I buy properties all over the place.
33:43 Just bought some way over in some island
33:46 and I haven't seen it yet.
33:48 And somebody said, well, how do you know you have it?
33:52 I said, because I have the title.
33:56 I don't have to see it in order for me to declare it's mine
34:01 because I have the title.
34:04 Molten and mulligan says that faith is the title
34:09 of the things that you have believed for.
34:12 Can I preach just a minute?
34:19 For 45 years, Caleb had the title.
34:24 He had never walked in the land, but he had the title.
34:29 Now touch somebody for the first time
34:31 and tell them I'm entitled.
34:33 For everything I believe God for, I'm entitled.
34:39 I'm entitled to be more than I am
34:42 because I've been restricted by fear
34:46 because of my circumstance.
34:48 But now that I've connected to God and I believe God,
34:53 I am entitled to the things that I have believed in for.
34:59 I'm not going to keep you too much longer.
35:02 I feel it coming on.
35:03 When I looked at the text and I understood this,
35:07 that there are some unseen realities.
35:11 What I need is internal evidence of ownership
35:15 and this is what I call assurance.
35:19 It brings us then to the New Testament word pistis
35:23 and this is a firm persuasion
35:26 or a conviction of something that I believe.
35:31 If you don't believe it, who will?
35:33 If you can't stand up for what you believe, who will?
35:38 You have to stand up.
35:41 You don't need a committee to become
35:44 what God would have you to be.
35:46 Ah, I feel it now.
35:48 All right, just keep me right there.
35:51 It's important to understand why God has
35:55 the outside of our perception, our sensual perception
36:00 and I'm glad he did because no one of us
36:04 can dictate to the other one of us
36:07 how we conceptualize God.
36:11 I don't have to have your concept of God.
36:15 I am free to have my own concept of God
36:19 because he's left himself outside of my sensual perception.
36:24 It draw a picture of my God
36:28 and I know that we're in the same church
36:31 but each one of us have an idio-distinct concept of God.
36:36 It's idio-distinct, it's completely distinctive
36:41 because I can't believe God the way you do
36:44 and you can't believe God the way I do
36:47 because it's idio-syncratic, it's mine
36:50 and I see him where you don't see him.
36:53 Conceptualize him where I don't.
36:57 That's why we fellowship because it takes all of us
37:01 to put together the complete picture of a mighty God.
37:06 If you choose all, that's your business
37:11 but you cannot impose a small God on me
37:16 because I choose to make him big
37:19 and that's what I want him to be.
37:22 Feel something happening in here.
37:26 God, I feel it.
37:28 Give me just a few more minutes.
37:30 It's true now then that fear has an object
37:34 but faith has an object also
37:37 and you've got, is your God bigger
37:40 than what you're looking at?
37:42 Is your God bigger than Nebuchadnezzar?
37:46 Because even on the downhill slide
37:49 from being the pristine princess of Israel
37:54 to becoming eunuchs, losing even their manhood,
37:59 they still had the nerve to stand before the king
38:03 and say first of all, knowledge says he's able
38:08 but faith says he will
38:10 but commitment says if he don't even do it,
38:15 we're still not going to bow.
38:20 I'm almost there, I feel.
38:22 Give somebody a high five, say he's almost there.
38:26 It's a critical piece here now
38:28 because I used to simply think that,
38:31 that faith on the one hand said that he is able,
38:36 faith says he will of course, knowledge says he's able
38:41 but he's sovereign which means that he's God.
38:45 He may or he may not.
38:47 The issue is we're still not going to bow.
38:50 I can't lose, I die
38:53 because if I can't live for what I would die for,
38:57 then my life is not worth living.
39:00 So I can't lose if I die
39:03 and I sure can't lose if he delivers.
39:07 The only way I can lose is if I bow
39:11 and that's not what I'm going to do.
39:15 I can't lose if he brings me out
39:19 and I can't lose if I'm leaving
39:22 but if I bow, then you have got the advantage over me.
39:27 So King, let me just tell you,
39:30 I am not going to bow which means you can't win.
39:35 If you leave me alive, you can't win.
39:37 If you leave me alive, you can't win
39:41 because I am not built to break.
39:46 I feel something happening here.
39:49 Take my house if you want, take my car if you want.
39:53 Walk out on me if you choose.
39:55 Turn your back on me if you want to
39:58 but that's not going to break me
40:01 because I'm not built to break.
40:04 I feel the Holy Ghost here.
40:07 I just come to tell you, there's been trying times
40:11 and these have been hard times particularly for us
40:15 who walk in the kingdom of God
40:18 because for 25 years I've heard
40:21 nothing but health, wealth and prosperity.
40:25 For 25 years we have given in every offering
40:29 and by now all of us should be millionaires.
40:32 The word is that more are losing our minds
40:37 than any other time in the history
40:40 of the African American race
40:43 and we're losing our minds over things.
40:46 I feel like preaching now but can you hear me?
40:51 Can you frighten Lazarus with death?
40:54 He already died before
40:56 and I don't know why you're losing your mind
40:58 over being broke.
41:00 You've been broke before.
41:02 (audience cheering)
41:05 I feel like having just a little church.
41:11 I feel like having a little church.
41:15 Give somebody high five and say neighbor,
41:19 I'm not built to break.
41:21 I've got too much anointing to fall apart.
41:24 I've got too much of the word in me
41:27 to let the devil cause me to think
41:30 that I'm gonna lose my mind.
41:32 I'm not gonna lose my mind over losing a house
41:37 'cause I'm gonna need my mind to decorate the next one.
41:42 I'm not gonna lose my mind over losing a man
41:47 'cause I'm gonna need my mind to be good to the next one.
41:51 I'm not gonna lose my mind over losing a woman
41:56 'cause I'm gonna lose my mind
41:59 to make sure the other one is all right.
42:02 Give somebody high five.
42:04 Say I'm not losing my mind
42:06 'cause I wasn't built to break.
42:08 If I was going to break,
42:11 I'd have broken a long time ago
42:14 'cause I've been to hell and back
42:16 and I'm here lifting up the name of the Lord.
42:21 If I were gonna break,
42:23 I would have broke when Satan had my house twisted
42:28 and turned upside down.
42:30 But I found out in the test and the trial,
42:34 there's something on the inside
42:37 that no matter how low I get,
42:39 it bounces back.
42:42 Thought I was gonna walk out,
42:44 but my anchor holds the solid rock.
42:49 I'm not built to break in the middle of the storm
42:53 because the reason the house is still standing
42:57 is not because of the storm.
43:00 The storm, the winds may come,
43:04 but the reason the house is still standing
43:07 is because it's built on the right foundation.
43:12 Shake somebody's hand for the third time
43:15 and say neighbor, I've been built on the right foundation.
43:20 I've been built on the word of God.
43:24 I've been built on the solid rock.
43:28 And I heard him say, upon the Lord,
43:32 I'll build my church and the gates of hell
43:36 shall not prevail against it.
43:38 Get somebody high five for the fourth time
43:42 and say neighbor, I've got a piece of the rock.
43:47 Anytime you think you're gonna drive me off,
43:53 you better remember I got rock up in here.
43:57 I got solid rock.
43:59 That's why I'm built on the word of God.
44:03 And I get somebody high five.
44:06 Say not only do I have the word,
44:08 but I am anointed.
44:11 I am anointed.
44:13 If I weren't anointed, I'd have lost my way.
44:17 If I weren't anointed, I'd have lost my mind.
44:21 But something that's inside of me says get up again,
44:26 shake yourself, get on your face,
44:31 and let the world know it ain't over yet.
44:35 It ain't over yet.
44:37 I've been walked on.
44:39 You've been talked about.
44:41 You've been mistreated.
44:42 You've been drowned.
44:44 You're still here, still praising it.
44:48 They left you for dead a long time ago,
44:52 but you're still lifting up the name of Jesus.
44:57 I'm not built to break.
45:04 I get somebody high five for the second to the last time
45:08 and say neighbor, I'm here to stay.
45:13 I'm not built to die.
45:15 Come on.
45:17 I feel the Holy Ghost.
45:29 I feel the Holy Ghost.
45:31 I've learned something about that scripture,
45:35 that change in my mind.
45:37 The first thing is our God I serve
45:40 is able to deliver out of the fire.
45:45 Can I preach like I feel it?
45:48 Get somebody high five.
45:49 Say do you know how many times
45:52 I've been delivered out of the fire?
45:56 The fire to get me to my job.
45:59 The fire to get me fired.
46:02 The fire, I'm talking about me.
46:05 The fire, I'm trying to hurt me.
46:09 The fire, I'm trying to get.
46:11 Who I am, but I've been delivered.
46:17 (laughing)
46:19 I'm closing, I'm closing.
46:37 Get somebody again.
46:40 Say I'm still here.
46:41 Look like what I've been through
46:46 because not even a hair on my head
46:48 has been singed, but I've been in the fire.
46:53 And they look at me and saw part one.
46:58 Oh, I feel like preaching.
47:02 Get somebody high five for the last time
47:05 and tell them somebody's with me.
47:07 Somebody's with me.
47:09 Somebody's with me.
47:11 (audio cutting out)
47:14 (audience cheering)
47:17 I'm not built to break.
47:24 Touch three people real quick.
47:27 I'm not built to break.
47:29 I'm still here.
47:42 It ain't gonna break.
47:44 It ain't gonna break.
47:46 It ain't.
47:46 It ain't gonna break.
47:49 You've been put together too well.
47:51 Your God's workmanship.
47:53 He stitched you together.
47:55 He stitched you together.
47:57 Leave if you wanna.
47:59 Get out of my face if you wanna.
48:00 But I will not break.
48:02 (audience cheering)
48:05 It's been long.
48:18 It's been tough.
48:20 But look at.
48:23 (audience cheering)
48:29 (audience cheering)
48:32 I'm closing time.
48:54 It's a.
48:55 (audience cheering)
48:58 (upbeat music)
49:04 (audience cheering)
49:07 You might as well put your praise on it.
49:29 (upbeat music)
49:32 (audience cheering)
49:42 (upbeat music)
49:57 (audience cheering)
50:00 I closed already three times.
50:15 (audience booing)
50:16 I'm gonna close for the closing time.
50:19 (audience cheering)
50:22 First view of that stage.
50:25 Of that, that the response to Nebuchadnezzar was.
50:29 He, the God we serve is able.
50:36 And I ascribe that to him because he's able.
50:39 And he will deliver us out of your hand.
50:43 And I know he will.
50:54 If not, we're not gonna commitment.
50:57 Meditated on it further and I discovered something.
51:01 First of all,
51:05 heat the fire hot.
51:09 I'm gonna cast you into the fiery furnace.
51:12 That was separate.
51:14 See, I assume that delivering them from the fiery furnace
51:18 was the first tool.
51:23 Because Nebuchadnezzar said,
51:25 "I'm gonna put you in the furnace."
51:27 And who is that God?
51:29 That'll deliver you out of my hand.
51:35 Which makes now for a separate issue.
51:41 Because the first issue now is to be delivered
51:44 out of the fire.
51:46 The second is to be delivered out of his hand.
51:52 See, you can have a boss
51:54 who is seeking to fire you.
51:59 And she tries in January and fails.
52:03 She tries in February and fails.
52:10 So even though you've been delivered from the incident,
52:16 you're still not delivered out of his hand.
52:22 (audience cheering)
52:25 Because she's still the boss.
52:28 Will deliver us out of your hand.
52:38 Now, when Daniel was in the lion's den,
52:41 God spoke to him but he didn't show up.
52:46 When Israel was coming out of Egypt,
52:52 God delivered them but he didn't lead the charge.
52:56 So why is he in the fire?
53:00 See, he's in the fire not to deliver them
53:10 from the burning fiery furnace.
53:13 Because they were already delivered from that
53:18 when they were put in the lion's den around.
53:21 But he showed up to do.
53:23 (audience cheering)
53:26 We over here in Crenshaw District.
53:34 This is Crenshaw.
53:36 And we used to be over on Hoover.
53:39 Now we got a little more sophistication.
53:42 We went out to Gardena.
53:44 But you all know when somebody's being pumped.
53:51 Yes, yes, yes.
53:52 And he go, because now he says, "I see a fourth one."
53:56 And the fourth one looks like one of the gods.
54:00 You were punking my boys outside the fire.
54:12 Now I'm getting ready to punk you inside the fire.
54:16 And what I'm saying to you is touch my boys again.
54:21 Mess with them again.
54:23 Mess with them again if you feel like it.
54:26 Understand who you dealing with.
54:29 You ain't dealing just with these boys.
54:31 You dealing with the fourth one.
54:33 And Nebuchadnezzar swore that day
54:36 that they would worship no other god
54:38 because he is the most.
54:40 God's getting ready.
54:44 Not only to take you out the situation.
54:47 But to take you out of there.
54:50 (audience applauding)
54:53 Shake somebody's hand.
54:55 Now you're going to shake it off
54:56 and tell them I'm not built to break.
54:59 God didn't put me together.
55:01 (audience applauding)
55:05 Take one person by both hands.
55:13 Get a prayer partner.
55:17 Take one person by both hands.
55:20 Paul taught me not only to pray before but pray after.
55:24 Pray that the eyes of your understanding be enlightened.
55:28 That you may know three things.
55:32 The exceeding greatness of his power.
55:35 To us what who believe.
55:37 Friend of mine said something to me
55:41 in one of my most gloomy times.
55:45 He said to me, he said,
55:47 "Noel, who's in there thinking with you?"
55:51 Psychologist, Miami.
55:56 He said, "Ain't nobody up here thinking but you.
56:00 "You're the one doing the thinking in here.
56:05 "So whatever you allow yourself to think
56:13 "is either going to break you or strengthen you."
56:17 Who's thinking in there?
56:21 Every negative thing that's been suggested,
56:27 you don't have to think on it.
56:31 Nobody's controlling your thought mechanism but you.
56:37 So what's everything's a pure honest good report.
56:42 Think on the things that strengthen you.
56:45 Sometimes you got to eliminate to elevate.
56:52 You got some people around you that just got to go.
56:59 They got to go.
57:04 Father you said to us,
57:09 "Whatever things we bind on earth are bound in heaven.
57:13 "Whatever things we bind on earth are loose in heaven."
57:16 You gave us that authority.
