An Inverness dad and daughter graduated together from UHI Inverness.

00:00 I'm Dean McVie and I'm graduating today in History and Archaeology at the VA.

00:08 I'm Leah and I'm graduating with Criminology and History.

00:12 I started in 2019 and finished in four years.

00:18 I started in, I can't remember, 2015, 2016, something like that. I did it part time.

00:26 It was quite subtle that we came out at the same time.

00:32 Is it a special moment for you today, graduating together at the same time?

00:36 It kind of is because our grandmother is in the church and doesn't know that I'm studying at all.

00:44 And things were bound just for Leah's graduation so that would be a bit of a shock on somebody's face.

00:52 So we're kind of hoping there's not going to be a heart attack.

00:56 All the grandparents, my mum, so she just thinks it's a big crowd and then it's actually all of us together.

01:04 How old are you?

01:06 92. I was a wee bit pissed off that I didn't go into the graduation.

01:11 Last time I passed a degree so she's never seen this graduate so that's a problem for me.
