Highland Ghostbusters in Inverness
Transcript
00:00 We're the Highland Ghostbusters and well, as it says in the name, we're the Highland
00:04 chapter of the Ghostbusters. We usually raise money for charities and we thought we'd come
00:09 out and synchronise and have a bit of fun, cheer people up, see if there's any ghosts around.
00:14 Have you had a busy morning? Did you have to evacuate anywhere from the coast?
00:19 We've heard a few stories but no appearances apart from this one here.
00:22 They've got the ghost of the Eastgate, it's quite an interesting story.
00:28 There was a bit at midnight, there was a balloon that would float around like someone carried it
00:32 and he said "what do you think of that?" and I said "that's past my bedtime mate".
00:36 Amazing. So you're going around the high street and you were saying you go also to other events?
00:43 Yeah we're just wandering around in Mernest today, just getting a feel for the place.
00:48 We've done Nairn, Elgin, Buckay, Forests, just all of the highlands and islands.
00:56 Cannonball run as well, that was good fun. If you ever need us for a hand for charities,
01:01 say they just contact us through our Facebook page and if we're available we're more than
01:05 happy to help. We'll charge us a cup of tea and a biscuit. Fantastic. I guess it is also
01:10 giving a few hints for Halloween inspiration as well. Every year, every year. But the kids love
01:19 it and then the big kids as well. They'll come up and say "look it's Ghostbusters" and the kids just
01:23 like blankly say "that's what I liked when I was your age". Yeah now you make all of us feel old.
01:28 You can always tell the kids that don't know because their dad will go "Ghostbusters" and the
01:33 kids will go "nope". Leave their dad standing there. I mean it's usually safer if you're around.
01:41 Well it's a bit of public service.
01:43 Is it police officer service?
01:46 I think it's a team effort.
01:49 We're the fourth emergency service.
01:50 Brothers and Honours.
01:51 Yeah.
01:52 The most fun we had was the Nairn Games where we took part in the parade.
01:57 That was good fun because we also knew a lot of the Star Wars post players. They were in
02:03 the Comic Con in Aberdeen. Yeah. Wookiees and Darth Vader. So we often team up for events and
02:10 teaming up with them and Nairn was just so much fun. We've got the Bucket Christmas Cracker in
02:15 November so that's got a big parade as well. So yeah we're really looking forward to that. That'll
02:21 be something fun. Next year we're actually hoping we're going to do a lock-in at Peterhead Prison.
02:26 The old Peterhead Prison because I've heard a few stories about that. I know somebody working
02:29 there so we can get a lock in there and see if we can scare ourselves.
