00:00 people that we've seen out here on the boardwalk.
00:02 Most of them that we've spoken with are just visiting.
00:04 They're in town for the weekend,
00:06 trying to get in a quick vacation.
00:08 And they tell us their big concern is where to park.
00:10 They don't want to be in a spot
00:11 that could get flooded overnight or early tomorrow morning,
00:15 especially when we're talking about the threat
00:16 of storm surge and cars being impacted by any salt water.
00:21 Now, there was a lot of talk and a lot of attention
00:23 up and down this part of the East Coast with Hurricane Lee.
00:26 Of course, that was a strong hurricane.
00:28 It got a lot of attention,
00:29 but this time around we have a storm
00:31 that does not have a name yet.
00:33 And it seems just by talking with people,
00:35 looking on social media, and looking at the preparations,
00:38 that some people may be caught off guard by the storm.
00:41 Now, we did check in with members
00:43 over at the Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company,
00:46 and they told us several people were hurt in rough surf
00:50 when Hurricane Lee passed by the other week, well offshore.
00:54 Assistant Chief Phil Bracken says
00:55 the impacts tomorrow from this storm,
00:58 they could be much worse.
00:59 He's urging tourists and local families to prepare,
01:03 to park their cars in a safe spot,
01:04 and to hunker down during the worst of the storm.
01:07 He says every 911 call puts first responders in danger.
01:11 Your volunteers are responding from home, typically,
01:16 leaving the dinner table or leaving their kids' ballgame,
01:20 taking them away from that for something
01:21 that was as simple as something
01:24 that could have been prevented.
01:25 Just thinking ahead and planning ahead
01:27 can save us a lot of trouble.
01:29 Leaves and a high tide at three o'clock tomorrow morning
01:35 and four o'clock tomorrow afternoon
01:37 could put some of these dunes to the test.
01:40 Now, there are a number of concerts and events
01:43 here in the Delmarva area that have been canceled.
01:45 Even though the Delaware Emergency Management Agency,
01:48 they had a family emergency preparedness event
01:50 set for tomorrow, they had to cancel that.
01:53 And big concern, again, with the wind,
01:55 the water, the flooding.
01:56 And we can already see this morning, guys,
01:58 the waves really kicking up with that rough surf
02:00 and the rip current threat.
