Mother-son duo David and Alicia Boyd speak after winning the 6km event.
Transcript
00:00 Joined here by Alicia Boyd and David Boyd, winners of the 6km Mother and Son Combo.
00:07 You seem to push each other really really hard today.
00:10 David how do you feel mate to win it overall?
00:13 It's good to win it, hopefully for the lads as well.
00:19 Is it running, being a massive part of your family, obviously you seem to be doing it
00:25 quite a lot and to do it as a family must be pretty special?
00:28 Yeah it's pretty special to do it as a family.
00:34 We do run like every other week so it's good fun.
00:38 And mum obviously your son takes it out and then you win as the first female across the
00:44 line, must be happy with that?
00:45 Yeah look it's always great fun to get a medal, there's always younger faster runners coming
00:50 up so to hold on for another win is always a bit of fun.
00:56 I'm well behind David now, can't see him at all when I get out of the course anymore but
01:01 it's great fun to know he's out in front leading the way.
01:04 How did you find the track and the conditions today?
01:06 Yeah look the conditions are great, really mild temperature so that's fantastic especially
01:11 for the half marathon runners.
01:13 The track's the tricky one because it's a combination of surfaces, you've got concrete,
01:17 bitumen, grass, trail so that's really quite tricky and especially when you're fatiguing
01:23 to have a bit of the trail run is hard but at least this year with the course hub being
01:28 down near Tove Road the finish of it is nice and flat through the caravan park so that
01:35 was a much nicer finish to the race when you're tired.
01:39 Congratulations guys, enjoy the win.
