00:00 So, Will, four games in in the Premier League.
00:02 Just have a look at Everton's campaign so far.
00:06 One point, I mean, it's not been ideal so far, has it?
00:10 But what can you sort of take from those first four games?
00:14 - It's a difficult one, really.
00:16 I think you can either have your glass half full or half empty.
00:20 If you start with half empty, the obvious,
00:23 say one point out of four games, let's be quite frank,
00:29 two at least were winnable, maybe three for them,
00:32 which they should have won.
00:33 Wolves, they had enough chances, should have won,
00:35 and obviously Wolves have had problems themselves
00:37 in the market at that point.
00:39 And Sheffield United as well, they got one,
00:41 they looked around top and they just reverted to type
00:43 and left Sheffield United,
00:44 knew they promoted Sheffield United,
00:46 who a lot of people are tipping to be down there,
00:48 back into the game.
00:49 And obviously they were comfortably beaten by Aston Villa.
00:55 Yeah, I can understand why there's a fair bit
00:58 of pessimism out there,
00:59 because things are only going to get harder
01:01 for Everton Arsenal to come next.
01:03 Luckily, they beat them last season
01:04 after they showed their first game.
01:07 But I said that was the proverbial new manager bounce.
01:10 Are they going to have that again when Arsenal visits?
01:13 But there have been some signs
01:17 that Everton can get themselves out of the mire.
01:21 Obviously they have been creating chances,
01:25 they didn't score goals against these Fulham and Wolves,
01:29 but at least scored twice against Sheffield United,
01:33 probably maybe because of a couple more on the counter.
01:37 Yeah, Beto, who survived from losing his,
01:40 he looks a real handful.
01:42 Obviously, Dominic Calvert-Lewin maybe can't rely on
01:46 as much as he once was.
01:47 So Everton have got a real top striker
01:51 who might suit the way they play.
01:53 Maybe we shouldn't be getting carried away just yet,
01:55 but on his debut, it's encouraging.
01:58 The attacking options are better.
02:01 This season, there's a lot more Eden Valaksov
02:02 will be going out, especially when everyone's fit.
02:05 Jack Harrison coming back will be a big boost
02:09 to Mardy Craig instead, and he's going to have to knuckle down
02:11 and get his head down, to be quite frank.
02:14 Or what he's come out of social media,
02:17 I'm sure that hasn't gone down the storm
02:19 at Goodson Park.
02:20 But yeah, I think those are the positives
02:23 that you have to take, and obviously Calvert-Lewin as well
02:25 to come back.
02:26 Who says, you know, maybe Dele Alli might finally revive
02:30 his career, I don't know.
02:31 But yeah, you have to take some positives,
02:35 but you can't deny that Everton were granted
02:39 a fairly easy start, and they've taken one point,
02:44 which is really, really disappointing.
