00:00Well, Everton obviously have announced they are getting the keys to the new stadium in
00:06the new year. The move won't be done yet but they are playing a lot of their final fixtures
00:12at Goodison. The postponed Merseyside derby would have been the last at Goodison for example.
00:20It's a massive change, a massive milestone for them having been there so, so long. In
00:26terms of moments at Goodison Park, what sort of stands out to you and to fans? It might
00:33not be as historic as some fans would remember but, you know, modern era as well, they've
00:37had some great times there. What sort of stands out when you look back at Goodison's best
00:42moments for Everton? Yeah, there's been ups and downs for sure hasn't there? Especially
00:47if you look from the last, what, 40 years, 70s, 80s, one of the top teams in the country.
00:54They won the title in 1985 and 1987. I think those two seasons will be remembered. And
01:01then when Everton won the Cup Winners' Cup in 1985, they beat Bayern Munich at Goodison
01:08in the semi-finals. They came back from behind and if you're a fan of a generation then you're
01:13going to remember those for different reasons. Supporters are going to remember the 90s and
01:19all the games where they twice had to battle to survive. Wimbledon and Coventry, bringing
01:26different emotions. You're going into the 2000s and a lot of people cite that 1-0 win
01:32against Man Utd in the 2004-05 season when that was a real big win and Everton finished
01:39fourth that season, the highest ever Premier League finish, qualified for the Champions
01:44League. Maybe in more recent times, again, there haven't been an awful lot to get absolutely
01:53enthused about for the right reason, but I think Crystal Palace was pure relief when
01:58they stayed up under Frank Lampard. I was there that night and to come back from 2-0
02:03down, there would have been supporters who thought Everton were buried, to be quite frank.
02:10It was a magical night. I can still feel the shaking underneath me when that Dominic
02:16Calvert-Lewin goal went in. The Merseyside derby last season when Everton won 2-0. There's
02:23plenty to remember, plenty to cherish, but yes, Everton fans are looking forward to getting
02:32into the new stadium now. I think as sad as it is for some fans, Goodson Park, it's represented
02:40I don't want to say mediocrity, but it's not been the place for this generation as
02:48for the generation before them. They've seen the good times, they haven't seen enough good
02:53memories and that's what Everton fans want to see now with the move to the new stadium.
02:57We want to see them back in the upper echelons of English football.
