00:02 - Greg, what do you think this series
00:04 was more representative of?
00:06 The Braves being the best team in the Bigs,
00:08 or the Mets being a really bad team right now
00:10 following the deadline?
00:11 - Is there an option C, Ben?
00:15 'Cause I wanna choose option A and B.
00:17 I wanna choose both.
00:18 - There is, you can say all of the above if you want.
00:21 - I'm gonna go with all of the above there, yeah.
00:23 I mean, look, Atlanta has essentially
00:26 been baseball's best team
00:28 since the Rays fell back a little bit at the end of April.
00:31 I think it's fair to say that Tampa Bay
00:35 was the best team in baseball in April,
00:36 but from May on, it's been the Braves.
00:40 They're just mauling teams,
00:41 they just ran through the Mets.
00:43 And let's be honest,
00:44 when you remove two pieces of a starting rotation,
00:47 it's almost impossible to recover from that.
00:49 We also know Marte is on the injured list too.
00:51 So the Mets are just playing out the string at this point.
00:55 They do seem to be headed in the right direction
00:58 in terms of prospects.
00:59 And clearly they're gonna get a very high draft pick.
01:00 There's a chance that Nationals may pass them.
01:02 Nationals are playing great baseball right now.
01:04 So it's a rare situation for these New York teams
01:08 to be in, Ben.
01:09 It's sort of stunning that there's a chance
01:11 that the Mets finish last
01:13 and maybe the Yankees finish last too.
01:15 Maybe people think that the future is brighter
01:18 for the Yankees, but I mean,
01:21 the Mets' form system is gonna be pretty locked in
01:23 in a couple of years.
01:24 So maybe there's some hope for them in a couple of years.
